FCNC top decays are very strongly suppressed in the Standard Model and the observation of any such decay would be a direct signature of physics beyond SM. Many "new physics" scenarios predict contributions to FCNC processes and the largest enhancement in many models is for t$\rightarrow$cH decay. Enhancements for the decay channel t$\rightarrow$c$γ$ are more modest, but the decay still has a clearly identifiable kinematic signature. Prospects for measuring these decays at CLIC running at 380 GeV were studied with full detector simulation, taking the luminosity distribution, beam polarization and beam induced background into account. Top pair production events with t$\rightarrow$cH decays can be identified based on the kinematic constraints and flavour tagging information. The analysis was divided into three steps: classification of top pair candidate events, event quality determination and kinematic reconstruction based on signal or background hypotheses, and final separation of signal from background. To obtain optimal results, selection criteria based on the dedicated Boosted Decision Trees (BDT) were used at each step. The expected limit on BR(t$\rightarrow$cH)$\times$BR(H$\rightarrow b\bar{b}$) from a combined analysis of hadronic and semi-leptonic top pair samples, as well as the limit on BR(t$\rightarrow$c$γ$) from hadronic top pair decays are presented.
In the Standard Model (SM), flavour changing neutral current (FCNC) top decays, possible at loop level only, are very strongly suppressed. Observation of any such decay would be a direct signature of physics beyond the SM. Large enhancements are possible in many "new physics" scenarios and the largest enhancement is in most cases expected for the $t\rightarrow cH$ decay. A full study for CLIC was based on the WHIZARD simulation of FCNC top decays within the 2HDM(III) model. Beam polarization and beam-induced background were taken into account. Top pair production events with the FCNC decay $t\…
Top quark flavor changing neutral current (FCNC) interactions are highly suppressed in the Standard Model. Therefore, any large signal of FCNCs will indicate the existence of new interactions. In this paper, searches for FCNC interactions in top quark production and decay at the Tevatron and LHC are presented. FCNC searches in $t\rightarrow qZ$ and $t\rightarrow Hq$ decays, and in top quark production in $pp\rightarrow t+j$, $pp\rightarrow t+Z$ are summarized. Effect of top quark FCNCs on single top quark cross-section, and the searches for same-sign top quark pair production through FCNCs are…
The search for a top quark in association with a Z boson can be performed in both top pair production as well as single top production. Targeting the three lepton final state, the search can be used to identify the standard model (SM) process of a single top quark associated with a Z boson and to search for flavour changing neutral current (FCNC) interactions. The presented analysis uses a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $19.7$ fb$^{-1}$ recorded by the CMS experiment at the LHC in proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}=8$ TeV. The cross section for the SM tZq production is me…
This paper presents the potential measurement at 1.4 TeV CLIC of the cross-section (times branching ratio) of the Higgs production via $WW$ fusion with the Higgs subsequently decaying in $ZZ^\ast$, ${σ(Hν_e\bar{ν_e})\times BR(H\rightarrow ZZ^\ast)}$, and of the Higgs production via $ZZ$ fusion with the Higgs subsequently decaying in $b\bar{b}$, ${σ(He{^+}e{^-})\times BR(H\rightarrow b\bar{b})}$. For the $H\rightarrow ZZ^\ast$ decay the hadronic final state, ${ZZ^\ast\rightarrow q\bar{q}q\bar{q}}$, and the semi-leptonic final state, ${ZZ^\ast\rightarrow q\bar{q}l^+l^-}$, are considered. The res…
ATLAS results are presented on a search for flavor-changing neutral currents (FCNC) in top quark decays at the LHC. Events are searched for where a pair of top quarks is produced and one decays through the Standard Model $t \rightarrow Wb$ mode while the other decays through the FCNC mode $t \rightarrow qZ$. Leptonic final states are used in which both the $W$- and $Z$-bosons decay leptonically, yielding final states with three leptons and two jets. The observed events are consistent with the expected backgrounds from Drell-Yan and diboson production and a limit on the FCNC branching ratio of …
In this paper we propose and study direct single top quark production channel for probing the tq$γ$ flavor-changing neutral current (FCNC) interactions at the LHC. We reinterpret the experimental results of a search for direct single top quark production performed by ATLAS collaboration at 8 TeV to set upper bounds on the FCNC top quark decay branching fractions through the proposed channel, resulting in ${\cal B}$(t$\rightarrow$ u$γ$) $<$ 0.05\% and ${\cal B}$(t$\rightarrow$ c$γ$) $<$ 0.14\%. Finally, the expected sensitivity at 13 TeV for various integrated luminosity scenarios is estimated.
We consider the Higgs boson anomalous FCNC interactions with $u$, $c$, $d$, $s$ and $b$ quarks using the effective field theory framework. Constraints on anomalous couplings are derived from experimental results on Higgs boson production with subsequent decay into $b \bar{b}$ pair at LHC with $\sqrt{s} = 13 $~TeV. Upper limits on the branching fractions of $H \to b\bar{s}$ and $H \to b\bar{d}$ are set by performing a realistic detector simulation and accurately reproducing analysis selections of the CMS Higgs boson measurement in the four-lepton final state at $\sqrt{s} = 13$ TeV. The searches…
The investigation of the properties of a Higgs boson, especially a test of the predicted linear dependence of the branching ratios on the mass of the final state, is currently one of the most compelling arguments for building a linear collider. We demonstrate that the large Higgs boson production cross section at a 3 TeV CLIC machine allows for a precision measurement of the Higgs branching ratios. The cross section times branching ratio of the decays H \rightarrow b^{-}b, H \rightarrow cc^{-} and H \rightarrow μμ can be measured with a statistical uncertainty of 0.22%, 3.2% and 15%, respectiv…
In this paper we address the potential of a 3 TeV center-of-mass energy Compact Linear Collider (CLIC) to measure the Standard Model (SM) Higgs boson decay to two photons. Since photons are massless, they are not coupled to the Higgs boson at the tree level, but they are created in a loop exchange of heavy particles either from the Standard Model or beyond. Any deviation of the effective $H\rightarrowγγ$ branching ratio and consequently of the Higgs to photon coupling may indicate New Physics. The Higgs decay to two photons is thus an interesting probe of the Higgs sector, both at the running …
The Higgs boson is the most anticipated discovery at the LHC, which can only partially explore its true nature. Thus one of the most compelling arguments to build a future linear collider is to investigate properties of the Higgs boson, especially to test the predicted linear dependence of the branching ratios on the mass of the final state. At a 3TeV CLIC machine the Higgs boson production cross section is relatively large and allows for a precision measurement of the Higgs branching ratio to pairs of b and c quarks, and even to muons. The cross section times branching ratio of the decays $H\…
The future Compact Linear Collider (CLIC) offers a possibility for a rich precision physics programme, in particular in the Higgs sector through the energy staging. This is the first paper addressing the measurement of the Standard Model Higgs boson decay into two muons at 1.4 TeV CLIC. With respect to similar studies at future linear colliders, this paper includes several novel contributions to the statistical uncertainty of the measurement. The later includes the Equivalent Photon Approximation and realistic forward electron tagging based on energy deposition maps in the forward calorimeters…
We study a model with a down-type SU(2) singlet vector-like quark (VLQ) as a minimal extension of the standard model (SM). In this model, flavor changing neutral currents (FCNCs) arise at tree level and the unitarity of the $3\times 3$ Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa (CKM) matrix does not hold. In this paper, we constrain the FCNC coupling from $b\rightarrow s$ transitions, especially $B_s\rightarrow μ^+μ^-$ and $\bar{B}\rightarrow X_sγ$ processes. In order to analyze these processes, we derive an effective Lagrangian which is valid below the electroweak symmetry breaking scale. For this purpose, we…
In this paper a simulation of measurements of the Higgs boson decay to electroweak bosons in $e^+e^-$ collisions at CLIC is presented. Higgs boson production and subsequent $H\rightarrow ZZ^\ast$ and $H\rightarrow WW^\ast$ decay processes were simulated alongside the relevant background processes at 350 GeV and 1.4 TeV center-of-mass energy. Full detector simulation and event reconstruction were used under realistic beam conditions. The achievable statistical precision of the measured product of the Higgs production cross section and the branching ratio for the analysed decays has been determi…
The Compact Linear Collider (CLIC) is a mature option for a future electron-positron collider operating at centre-of-mass energies of up to 3 TeV. CLIC will be built and operated in a staged approach with three centre-of-mass energies currently assumed to be 380 GeV, 1.5 TeV and 3 TeV. This contribution discusses the prospects for precision measurements of top-quark properties at the first stage of CLIC, based on detailed simulation studies, taking into account luminosity spectra and beam induced backgrounds, full detector simulation based on Geant4, final state reconstruction based on particl…
In this note, $\mathrm{ZHH}$ production in the all-hadronic final state is studied in $\mathrm{e}^{+}\mathrm{e}^{-}$ collisions at the Compact Linear Collider at the 3 TeV stage. At this stage this Higgs boson pair production mode is sub-leading to the $\mathrm{W}^{+}\mathrm{W}^{-}$ fusion production cross-section of $\mathrm{e}^{+}\mathrm{e}^{-}\rightarrow\mathrm{HH}νν$. The events are characterised by a topology of six jets, where the masses of the three pair-wise combinations of two jets are compatible with originating from two $\mathrm{H}$ and one $\mathrm{Z}$ bosons. The event selection c…
We propose new searches for axion-like particles (ALPs) produced in flavor-changing neutral current (FCNC) processes. This proposal exploits the often-overlooked coupling of ALPs to W bosons, leading to FCNC production of ALPs even in the absence of a direct coupling to fermions. Our proposed searches for resonant ALP production in decays such as $B\rightarrow K^{(*)}a,\,a\rightarrow γγ$ and $K\rightarrow πa, \,a\rightarrow γγ$ could greatly improve upon the current sensitivity to ALP couplings to Standard Model particles. We also determine analogous constraints and discovery prospects for inv…
In this paper we address the potential of a 3 TeV centre-of-mass energy Compact Linear Collider (CLIC) to measure the branching fraction of the Higgs boson decay to two photons, BR($H\rightarrowγγ$). Since photons are massless, the Higgs boson coupling to photons is realized through higher order processes involving heavy particles either from the Standard Model or beyond. Any deviation of the measured BR($H\rightarrowγγ$), and consequently of the Higgs coupling $g_{Hγγ}$ from the predictions of the Standard Model, may indicate New Physics. The Higgs decay to two photons is thus an interesting …
We present a study to examine the sensitivity of a future $e^{-} e^{+}$ collider to the anomalous top flavour-changing neutral current (FCNC) to the gluon. To separate signal from background a multivariate analysis is performed on top-quark pair and background events, where one top quark is considered to follow the dominant Standard Model (SM) decay, $t \rightarrow Wb$, and the other top decays through FCNC, $t\rightarrow qg$, where $q$ is a $u-$ or a $c-$quark. The analysis of fully-hadronic FCNC decay of the $t \bar{t}$ pair is also presented. The $95\%$ confidence level limits on the top-qu…
A search for flavor-changing neutral current (FCNC) processes in associated production of a top quark and Higgs boson, with the Higgs boson decaying to a pair of b quarks, is presented. To experimentally probe the top-Higgs FCNC couplings, for the first time the single-top production is considered as a signal process. One isolated lepton and at least three reconstructed jets, among which at least two are identified as b quark jets, are found in the final state. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of $35.9\,\mathrm{fb^{-1}}$ recorded by the CMS experiment at the LHC in proto…
A search is presented for the production of a single top quark via left-handed flavour-changing neutral-current (FCNC) interactions of a top quark, a gluon and an up or charm quark. Two production processes are considered: $u+g\rightarrow t$ and $c+g\rightarrow t$. The analysis is based on proton-proton collision data taken at a centre-of-mass energy of 13$\,$TeV with the ATLAS detector at the LHC. The data set corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 139 fb$^{-1}$. Events with exactly one electron or muon, exactly one $b$-tagged jet and missing transverse momentum are selected, resembling t…
We report on the extrapolated measurements related to the flavour-changing-neutral-current(FCNC) $b\rightarrow s$ and $b\rightarrow d$ transitions with the Belle II data. The branching fraction(BF) and raw asymmetry measurements of the exclusive decay $\bar{B}\rightarrow X_{q}γ$, time-dependent $CP$ asymmetry in the transition $b\rightarrow sγ$, angular analysis of $B\rightarrow K^*ll$ and $B\rightarrow X_sll$ are discussed. We also report on the searches for the decay $B\rightarrow hνν$. Most of these analyses are extrapolated with 5 and 50 ab$^{-1}$ Belle II data.
A search for flavour-changing neutral current (FCNC) events via the coupling of a top quark, a photon, and an up or charm quark is presented using 81 fb$^{-1}$ of proton-proton collision data taken at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV with the ATLAS detector at the LHC. Events with a photon, an electron or muon, a $b$-tagged jet, and missing transverse momentum are selected. A neural network based on kinematic variables differentiates between events from signal and background processes. The data are consistent with the background-only hypothesis, and limits are set on the strength of the $tqγ$…
In this paper we present results of determination of the statistical precision of Higgs branching fraction measurement, for Higgs decay to ZZ$^\ast$ pairs at 3 TeV and 350 GeV CLIC. Measurements are simulated with the CLIC_ILD detector model, taking into consideration all relevant physics and beam-induced background processes. It is shown that the product of the branching fraction BR(${H\rightarrow\thinspace ZZ^\ast}$) and the Higgs production cross-section can be measured with a relative statistical uncertainty of 3% (18%) at 3 TeV (350 GeV) center-of-mass energy, using semileptonic final sta…
We present a search for flavor changing neutral currents (FCNC) in decays of top quarks. The analysis is based on a search for $t\bar{t}\rightarrow\ell'ν\ell\bar{\ell}$+jets ($\ell, \ell' = e,μ$) final states using 4.1 {\rm fb}$^{-1}$ of integrated luminosity of $p\bar{p}$ collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 1.96$ {\rm TeV}. We extract limits on the branching ratio $B(t\rightarrow Zq)$ ($q = u, c$ quarks), assuming anomalous $tuZ$ or $tcZ$ couplings. We do not observe any sign of such anomalous coupling and set a limit of $B < 3.2%$ at 95% C.L.
This talk presents results of the two independent analyses evaluating the measurement accuracy of the branching ratio for the Standard model Higgs boson decay to a W-pair, at the Compact Linear Collider (CLIC) and at the International Linear Collider (ILC). The considered Higgs production channels are the WW-fusion for the highest energy stage of CLIC, $\sqrt{s}$= 3 TeV, and the Higgsstrahlung process for the nominal ILC energy, $\sqrt{s}$=500 GeV. Both studies are performed using the full simulation of the detector. The realistic experimental conditions have been simulated including beam ener…
A two Higgs doublet model (2HDM) is one of the minimal extensions of the Standard Model (SM), and it is well-known that the general setup predicts the flavor-violating phenomena, mediated by neutral Higgs interactions. Recently the CMS collaboration has reported an excess of the lepton-flavor-violating Higgs decay in $h \rightarrow μτ$ channel with a significance of 2.5 $ σ$. We investigate the CMS excess in a general 2HDM with tree-level Flavor Changing Neutral Currents (FCNCs), and discuss its impact on the other physical observations. Especially, we see that the FCNCs relevant to the excess…
Measurements of top quark production at $e^+e^-$ colliders can provide a leap in precision in our knowledge of top quark properties and open a new window on physics beyond the Standard Model. In this contribution the top quark physics prospects of linear colliders is reviewed. Progress in detailed full-simulation studies is reported for the highlights of the program. We present the prospects for a measurement of the top quark mass and width in a scan of the beam energy through the pair production threshold, and discuss new studies of alternative measurements in continuum production, which are …
The study of flavour-changing neutral currents (FCNC) gives access to important tests of the Standard Model (SM) and allows to search for hints of beyond the SM phenomena. We present here the study of the very rare decays $B^0\rightarrow μ^+μ^-$ and $B_s^0\rightarrow μ^+μ^-$ using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 25 fb$^{-1}$ of $7$~TeV and $8$~TeV proton-proton collisions collected with the ATLAS detector during the LHC Run 1. For $B^0$, an upper limit on the branching fraction is set at BR$(B^0 \rightarrow μ^+μ^-) < 4.2\times 10^{-10}$ at 95\% confidence level. For $B^0_s$, …
The Inert Doublet Model (IDM) is a simple extension of the Standard Model, introducing an additional Higgs doublet that brings in four new scalar particles. The lightest of the IDM scalars is stable and is a good candidate for a dark matter particle. The potential of discovering the IDM scalars in the experiment at the Compact Linear Collider (CLIC), an e$^{+}$e$^{-}$ collider proposed as the next generation infrastructure at CERN, has been tested for two high-energy running stages, at 1.5 TeV and 3 TeV centre-of-mass energy. The CLIC sensitivity to pair-production of the charged IDM scalars w…
In this paper we investigate the prospects for measuring the branching fraction of the Standard Model Higgs boson decay into a pair of $Z$ bosons at the future Compact Linear Collider (CLIC) at 350 GeV and 3 TeV centre-of-mass energies. Studies are performed using a detailed simulation of the detector for CLIC, taking into consideration all relevant physics and beam-induced background processes. It is shown that the product of the Higgs production cross-section and the branching fraction BR(${H\rightarrow\thinspace ZZ^\ast}$) can be measured with a relative statistical uncertainty of 20% (3.0%…
We have estimated the sensitivity to the anomalous couplings of the $γγγZ$ vertex in the $γγ\rightarrowγZ$ scattering of the Compton backscattered photons at the CLIC. Both polarized and unpolarized collisions at the $e^+e^-$ energies 1500 GeV and 3000 GeV are addressed, and anomalous contributions to helicity amplitudes are derived. The differential and total cross sections are calculated. We have obtained 95\% C.L. exclusion limits on the anomalous quartic gauge couplings (QGCs). They are compared with corresponding bounds derived for the $γγγZ$ couplings via $γZ$ production at the LHC. The …
In this paper, we examine the potentials of the processes $γγ\rightarrow W^{+} W^{-}Z $ and $e^{+}e^{-} \rightarrow e^{+}γ^{*} γ^{*} e^{-} \rightarrow e^{+} W^{+} W^{-} Z e^{-}$ at the CLIC with $\sqrt{s}=0.5,1.5$ and $3$ TeV to investigate anomalous quartic $WWZγ$ couplings by two different CP-violating and CP-conserving effective Lagrangians. We find $95\%$ confidence level limits on the anomalous coupling parameters at the three CLIC energies and various integrated luminosities. The best limits obtained from the process $γγ\rightarrow W^{+} W^{-}Z $ on the anomalous $\frac{k_{0}^{W}}{Λ^{2}}…

The Compact Linear Collider (CLIC) is a proposed future high-luminosity linear electron-positron collider operating at three energy stages, with nominal centre-of-mass energies: 380 GeV, 1.5 TeV, and 3 TeV. Its aim is to explore the energy frontier, providing sensitivity to physics beyond the Standard Model (BSM) and precision measurements of Standard Model processes with an emphasis on Higgs boson and top-quark physics. The opportunities for top-quark physics at CLIC are discussed in this paper. The initial stage of operation focuses on top-quark pair production measurements, as well as the s…
