Previous submission has been replaced by Morse potential in complex space having T-symmetry nature. In fact a recent paper on Morse potential presented reflect few inconsistencies. We alo discuss these points . Lastly ,I request you to do the needful. In fact I am asked to submit as an replacement but not new
We find theoretical results on energy eigenvalues and corresponding supersymmetric Hamiltonians reflect contradictory behavior for negative values of A. furthermore the resulting supersymmetric partners potentials can be model scattering states instead of bound states, However following the literature ( Flu 1979);J and A (J. Physics A 2020), we suggest a correct form of super potential , which remains valid for both positive and negative values of constants. A from this in complex space also the eigenvalues remain invariant without discussion of T-symmetry as the previous discussion appears incomplete.
A very simple method is devised to derive a (strictly) isospectral extension of the Morse potential. Furthermore, point canonical transformations are used to transform the latter into quasi-exactly solvable extensions of the radial oscillator and the Coulomb potentials.
The construction of rationally-extended Morse potentials is analyzed in the framework of first-order supersymmetric quantum mechanics. The known family of extended potentials $V_{A,B,{\rm ext}}(x)$, obtained from a conventional Morse potential $V_{A-1,B}(x)$ by the addition of a bound state below the spectrum of the latter, is re-obtained. More importantly, the existence of another family of extended potentials, strictly isospectral to $V_{A+1,B}(x)$, is pointed out for a well-chosen range of parameter values. Although not shape invariant, such extended potentials exhibit a kind of `enlarged' …
Analytical eigensolutions for Morse oscillators are used to investigate quantum resonance and revivals and show how Morse anharmonicity affects revival times. A minimum semi-classical Morse revival time Tmin-rev found by Heller is related to a complete quantum revival time Trev using a quantum deviation parameter that in turn relates Trev to the maximum quantum beat period Tmax-beat. Also, number theory of Farey and Thales-circle geometry of Ford is shown to elegantly analyze and display fractional revivals. Such quantum dynamical analysis may have applications for spectroscopy or quantum info…
In this work we explore a generalization of the Dirac and Klein-Gordon (KG) oscillators, provided with a deformed linear momentum inspired in nonextensive statistics, that gives place to the Morse potential in relativistic contexts by first principles. In the (1+1)-dimensional case the relativistic oscillators are mapped into the quantum Morse potential. Using the Pekeris approximation, in the (3+1)-dimensional case we study the thermodynamics of the S-waves states (l=0) of the H2, LiH, HCl and CO molecules (in the non-relativistic limit) and of a relativistic electron, where Schottky anomalie…
The position and momentum space information entropies for the Morse potential are numerically obtained for different strengths of the potential. It is found to satisfy the bound obtained by Beckner, Bialynicki-Birula, and Mycielski. Interesting features of the entropy densities are graphically demonstrated.
Morse oscillator is one of the known solvable potentials which attracts many applications in quantum mechanics especially in quantum chemistry. One of the interesting results of this study is the generation of ladder operators for Morse potential. The operators are a representation of the shifting energy levels of the states exhibited by the wavefunction. From this result, we manipulate and deform the operators in such a way that it gives a noncommutative property to promote noncommutative quantum mechanics (NCQM). The resultant NC feature can be shown in the spatial coordinates and finally th…
The recently proposed PT-symmetric quantum mechanics works with complex potentials which possess, roughly speaking, a symmetric real part and an anti-symmetric imaginary part. We propose and describe a new exactly solvable model of this type. It is defined as a specific analytic continuation of the shape-invariant potential of Morse. In contrast to the latter well-known example, all the new spectrum proves real, discrete and bounded below. All its three separate subsequences are quadratic in n.
We present the quantum mechanics problem of the one-dimensional Schroedinger equation with the trigonometric Rosen-Morse potential. This potential is of possible interest to quark physics in so far as it captures the essentials of the QCD quark-gluon dynamics and (i) interpolates between a Coulomb-like potential (associated with one-gluon exchange) and the infinite wall potential (associated with asymptotic freedom), (ii) reproduces in the intermediary region the linear confinement potential (associated with multi-gluon self-interactions) as established by lattice QCD calculations of hadron pr…
In this letter, we show the impossibility of the general operation introduced by Pati [3] using two different but consistent principles (i) no-signalling (ii) non increase of entanglement under LOCC.
The literature on the exponential Fourier approach to the one-dimensional quantum harmonic oscillator problem is revised and criticized. It is shown that the solution of this problem has been built on faulty premises. The problem is revisited via the Fourier sine and cosine transform method and the stationary states are properly determined by requiring definite parity and square-integrable eigenfunctions.
An upgraded concept of solvability of Schrödinger-type equations is proposed. In a broader methodical context of non-perturbative quantum theory the innovation involves potentials which are piece-wise analytic yielding differential equations solvable in terms of special functions. In our illustrative example, Whittaker functions are employed and a single point of non-analyticity is admitted in the origin. In a symbolic-manipulation-based practical implementation of the method a serendipitous advantage of the construction of bound states is found in the both-sided nature of the numerical locali…
In this work we try to clarify the fundamental relationship between bits and qubits, starting from very simple George Boole equation. We derive a generic and compact expression for basis vectors of qubit which can be useful in further applications. We also derive a generic form for the projection operator in the quantum information space. The results are also extended to higher d-level cases of qutrits and qudits.
The physical origin is investigated of Robin boundary conditions for wave functions at an infinite reflecting wall. We consider both Schrödinger and phase-space quantum mechanics (a.k.a. deformation quantization), for this simple example of a contact interaction. A non-relativistic particle moving freely on the half-line is treated as moving on the full line in the presence of an infinite potential wall, realized as a limit of a Morse potential. We show that the wave functions for the Morse states can become those for a free particle on the half-line with Robin boundary conditions. However, Di…
Recently Xia and Song [Phys. Lett. A (In press)] have proposed a controlled quantum secure direct communication (CQSDC) protocol. They claimed that in their protocol only with the help of the controller Charlie, the receiver Alice can successfully extract the secret message from the sender Bob. In this letter, first we will show that within their protocol the controller Charlie's role can be excluded due to their unreasonable design. We then revise the Xia-Song CQSDC protocol such that its original advantages are retained and the CQSDC can be really realized.
Supersymmetry is a technique that allows us to extract information about the states and spectra of quantum mechanical systems which may otherwise be unsolvable. In this paper we reconstruct Ioffe's set of states for the singular non-separable two-dimensional Morse potential using supersymmetry from a non-degenerate set of states constructed for the initial separable Morse Hamiltonian. We define generalised coherent states, compute their uncertainty relations, and we find that the singularity in the partner Hamiltonian significantly affects the localisation of the coherent state wavefunction.
In this article, we investigate the error bound of quantum discord, obtained by the analytic formula of Ali et al.[Phys. Rev. A 81(2010), 042105] in case of general X states and by the analytic formula of Fanchini et al.[Phys. Rev. A 81(2010), 052107] in case of symmetric X states. We show that results of Ali et. al. to general X states and Fanchini et al. to symmetric X states may have worst-case error of 0.004565 and 0.0009 respectively.
In this article we revisit the theory of open quantum systems from the perspective of fermionic baths. Specifically, we concentrate on the dynamics of a central spin half particle interacting with a spin bath. We have calculated the exact reduced dynamics of the central spin and constructed the Kraus operators in relation to that. Further, the exact Lindblad type cannonical master equation corresponding to the reduced dynamics is constructed. We have also briefly touch upon the aspect of non-Markovianity from the backdrop of the reduced dynamics of the central spin.
We investigate the dynamics of a rotating Morse wave packet, appropriate for a ro-vibrating diatomic molecule. The coupling between vibrational and rotational degrees of freedom is explicated in real position space as well as in phase space Wigner distribution of a SU(2) coherent state at various dynamically evolved times. We choose the well studied $I_{2}$ molecule with the parameter values in good agrement with experiments. A quantitative measure of the angles of rotations for different angular momenta is also given.

In this paper we identify a hidden premise in Bell's theorem: measurability of the underlying space. But our system (the space of all paths, SP) is not measurable, although it replicates the predictions of standard quantum mechanics. Using it we present three counterexamples to Bell's theorem and also show why Bell-like arguments for more than two particles cannot be carried out in this model. Moreover, we show that the result places severe constraints on possible viable interpretations of quantum mechanics: Either an interpretation must in some form represent a quantum system in terms of all …
The theory of quantum optomechanics is reconstructed from first principles by finding a Lagrangian from light's equation of motion and then proceeding to the Hamiltonian. The nonlinear terms, including the quadratic and higher-order interactions, do not vanish under any possible choice of canonical parameters, and lead to coupling of momentum and field. The existence of quadratic mechanical parametric interaction is then demonstrated rigorously, which has been so far assumed phenomenologically in previous studies. Corrections to the quadratic terms are particularly significant when the mechani…
By introducing the shape invariant Lie algebra spanned by the SUSY ladder operators plus the unity operator, a new basis is presented for the quantum treatment of the one-dimensional Morse potential. In this discrete, complete orthonormal set, which we call the pseudo number states, the Morse Hamiltonian is tridiagonal. By using this basis we construct coherent states algebraically for the Morse potential, in a close analogy with the harmonic oscillator. We also show that there exists an unitary displacement operator creating these coherent states from the ground state. We show that our cohere…
In continuation of our previous work investigating the possibility of the use of the Level Set Method in quantum control, we here present some numerical results for a Morse potential. We find that a proper treatment of the Morse potential eigenfunctions and eigenvalues for the case of a system with a small number of bound energy levels, the anharmonic perturbative approximation is actually invalid. We, therefore, use a Runge-Kutta integration method that gives more plausible results. We also calculate the dipole moment for the transitions between the two levels with our eigenfunctions and find…
From the perspective of information theory and cryptography, we analyze the security of two quantum dialogue protocols and a bidirectional quantum secure direct communication (QSDC) protocol, and point out that the transmitted information would be partly leaked out in them. That is, any eavesdropper can elicit some information about the secrets from the public annunciations of the legal users. This phenomenon should have been strictly forbidden in a quantum secure communication. In fact, this problem exists in quite a few recent proposals and, therefore, it deserves more research attention in …
By using an improved approximation scheme to deal with the centrifugal (pseudo-centrifugal) term, we solve the Dirac equation for the generalized Morse potential with arbitrary spin-orbit quantum number κ. In the presence of spin and pseudospin symmetry, the analytic bound state energy eigenvalues and the associated upper- and lower-spinor components of two Dirac particles are found by using the basic concepts of the Nikiforov-Uvarov method. We study the special cases when κ=\pm1 (l=l=0, s-wave), the non-relativistic limit and the limit when α becomes zero (Kratzer potential model). The presen…
Recently R. N. Costa Filho et al. (PRA 84, 050102(R) (2011)) have introduced a position dependent infinitesimal translation operator which corresponds to a position dependent linear momentum and consequently to a position dependent effective mass quantum particle. Although there is no doubt in novelty of the idea and the formalism, we believe that some aspects of the quantum mechanics could be complemented in their original work. Here in this letter first we address those points and then an alternative will be introduced. Finally we apply the formalism for a quantum particle under a null poten…
We construct a non-contextual hidden variable model consistent with all the kinematic predictions of quantum mechanics (QM). The famous Bell-KS theorem shows that non-contextual models which satisfy a further reasonable restriction are inconsistent with QM. In our construction, we define a weaker variant of this restriction which captures its essence while still allowing a non-contextual description of QM. This is in contrast to the contextual hidden variable toy models, such as the one by Bell, and brings out an interesting alternate way of looking at QM. The results also relate to the Bohmia…
Coherent time-delayed feedback allows the control of a quantum system and its partial stabilization against noise and decoherence. The crucial and externally accessible parameters in such control setups are the round-trip-induced delay time $τ$ and the frequencies $ω$ of the involved optical transitions which are typically controllable via global parameters like temperature, bias or strain. They influence the dynamics via the amplitude and the phase $ϕ= ωτ$ of the feedback signal. These quantities are, however, not independent. Here, we propose to control the feedback phase via a microwave pum…
We consider systems governed by the Gross Pitaevskii equation (GPE) with the Morse potential $V(x)=D(e^{-2ax}-2e^{-ax})$ as the trapping potential. For positive values of the coupling constant $g$ of the cubic term in GPE, we find that the critical value $g_c$ beyond which there are no bound states scales as $D^{3/4}$ (for large $D$). Studying the quantum evolution of wave packets, we observe that for $g<g_c$, the initial wave packet needs a critical momentum for the packet to escape from the potential. For $g>g_c$, on the otherhand, all initial wave packets escape from the potential and the d…
Closed Timelike Curves are relativistically valid objects allowing time travel to the past. Treating them as computational objects opens the door to a wide range of results which cannot be achieved using non relativistic quantum mechanics. Recently, research in classical and quantum computation has focused on effectively harnessing the power of these curves. In particular, Brun (Found. Phys. Lett., 2003) has shown that CTCs can be utilized to efficiently solve problems like factoring and QSAT (Quantified Satisfiability Problem). In this paper, we find a flaw in Brun's algorithm and propose a m…
In this paper we start from the Schrödinger equation to revisit some classical quantum mechanics from the perspective of phase transition process. Here the relativistic effect of particles moving at high speed can be regarded as the phase transition process when the velocity variable increases. Considering that the catastrophe models could describe qualitatively any phase transition process, we adopt the simplest folding catastrophe type as the potential function in the Schrödinger equation to obtain a revised Schrödinger relativistic equation through the dimensionless analysis first, and then…
In the last few years, there has been increasing interest in quantum processes with indefinite causal order. Process matrices are a convenient framework to study such processes. Ref. [1] defines higher order transformations from process matrices to process matrices and shows that no continuous and reversible transformation can change the causal order of a process matrix. Ref. [2] argues, based on a set of examples, that there are situations where a process can change its causal order over time. Ref. [2] claims that the formalism of higher order transformations is not general enough to capture …
Quantum superposition is the heart of quantum mechanics as mentioned by Dirac and Feynman. In an interferometric system, single photon self-interference has been intensively studied over the last several decades in both quantum and classical regimes. In Born rule tests, the Sorkin parameter indicates the maximum number of possible quantum superposition allowed to the input photons entering an interferometer, where multi-photon interference fringe is equivalent to that of a classical version by a laser. Here, an attenuated laser light in a quantum regime is investigated for self-interference in…
In this paper we discuss the Morse potential on a quantum computer. The Morse potential is useful to describe diatomic molecules and has a finite number of bound states which can be measured through spectroscopy. It is also a example of an exactly soluble potential using supersymmetric quantum mechanics. Using the the supersymmetric quantum mechanics formalism one can derive a heirachy of Hamiltonians such that the ground state of the next rung on the heirarchy yeids the first excited state of the hamiltonian below it. Using this method one can determine all the states of the Morse potential b…
Bohr's principle of complementarity lies at the central place of quantum mechanics, according to which the light is chosen to behave as a wave or particles, depending on some exclusive detecting devices. Later, intermediate cases are found, but the total information of the wave-like and particle-like behaviors are limited by some inequalities. One of them is Englert-Greenberger (EG) duality relation. This relation has been demonstrated by many experiments with the classical detecting devices. Here by introducing a quantum detecting device into the experiment, we find the limit of the duality r…
We solve the parametric generalized effective Schrödinger equation with a specific choice of posi-tion-dependent mass function and Morse oscillator potential by means of the Nikiforov-Uvarov (NU) method combined with the Pekeris approximation scheme. All bound-state energies are found explicitly and all corresponding radial wave functions are built analytically. We choose the Weyl or Li and Kuhn ordering for the ambiguity parameters in our numerical work to calculate the energy spectrum for a few and diatomic molecules with arbitrary vibration and rotation quantum numbers and different positio…
By considering level shifting during the insertion process we revisit the quantum Szilard engine (QSZE) with fully quantum consideration. We derive the general expressions of the heat absorbed from thermal bath and the total work done to the environment by the system in a cycle with two different cyclic strategies. We find that only the quantum information contributes to the absorbed heat, and the classical information acts like a feedback controller and has no direct effect on the absorbed heat. This is the first demonstration of the different effects of quantum information and classical info…
The analytic solutions of the spatially-dependent mass Schrodinger equation of diatomic molecules with the centrifugal term l(l+1)/r2 for the generalized q-deformed Morse potential are obtained approximately by means of a parametric generalization of the Nikiforov-Uvarov (NU) method combined with the Pekeris approximation scheme. The energy eigenvalues and the corresponding normalized radial wave functions are calculated in closed form with a physically motivated choice of a reciprocal Morse-like mass function, m(r)=m0/(1-deltae^{-a(r-r_{e})})2, 0<delta<1, where a and r_{e} are the range of th…
We solve the relativistic equations(Klein-Gordon and Dirac equation) via the conventional Nikiforov-Uvarov method. In order to overcome the centrifugal barrier, we employed the well-known Greene and Aldrich approximation scheme. The corresponding normalized eigenfunctions was also obtained in each case. It was shown that in the non-relativistic limits, both energy equations obtained by solving Klein-Gordon and Dirac equations, and wavefunctions reduced to the non-relativisitc energy Equation. The bound state energy eigenvalues for N_2, CO, NO, CH and HCl diatomic molecules were computed for va…
Approximate analytical bound-state solutions of the Dirac particle in the field of both attractive and repulsive RM potentials including Coulomb-like tensor (CLT) potential are obtained for arbitrary spin-orbit quantum number The Pekeris approximation is used to deal with the spin-orbit coupling terms In the presence of exact spin and pseudospin (p-spin) symmetries, the energy eigenvalues and the corresponding normalized two-component wave functions are found by using the parametric generalization of the Nikiforov-Uvarov (NU) method. The numerical results show that the CLT interaction removes …
The problem of a Klein-Gordon particle moving in equal vector and scalar Rosen-Morse-type potentials is solved in the framework of Feynman's path integral approach. Explicit path integration leads to a closed form for the radial Green's function associated with different shapes of the potentials. For $q\leq -1$, and $\frac{1}{2α}\ln \left\vert q\right\vert <r<+\infty $, the energy equation and the corresponding wave functions are deduced for the $l$ states using an appropriate approximation to the centrifugal potential term. When $-1<q<0$ or $q>0$, it is shown that the quantization conditions …

Using a version of Witten's supersymmetric quantum mechanics proposed by Caticha, we relate Montroll's kink to a traveling, asymmetric Morse double-well potential suggesting in this way a connection between kink modes and vibrational degrees of freedom along microtubules
The nonequilibrium quantum dynamics of closed many-body systems is a rich yet challenging field. While recent progress for periodically driven (Floquet) systems has yielded a number of rigorous results, our understanding on quantum many-body systems driven by rapidly varying but a- and quasi-periodic driving is still limited. Here, we derive rigorous, non-perturbative, bounds on the heating rate in quantum many-body systems under Thue-Morse quasi-periodic driving and under random multipolar driving, the latter being a tunably randomized variant of the former. In the process, we derive a static…
We analyze certain eigenstates of the quantum baker's map and demonstrate, using the Walsh-Hadamard transform, the emergence of the ubiquitous Thue-Morse sequence, a simple sequence that is at the border between quasi-periodicity and chaos, and hence is a good paradigm for quantum chaotic states. We show a family of states that are also simply related to Thue-Morse sequence, and are strongly scarred by short periodic orbits and their homoclinic excursions. We give approximate expressions for these states and provide evidence that these and other generic states are multifractal.
We consider classical and quantum one and two-dimensional systems with ladder operators that satisfy generalized Heisenberg algebras. In the classical case, this construction is related to the existence of closed trajectories. In particular, we apply these results to the infinite well and Morse potentials. We discuss how the degeneracies of the permutation symmetry of quantum two-dimensional systems can be explained using products of ladder operators. These products satisfy interesting commutation relations. The two-dimensional Morse quantum system is also related to a generalized two-dimensio…
We show that a direct connection can be drawn, based on fundamental quantum principles, between the Morse potential, extensively used as an empirical description for the atomic interaction in diatomic molecules, and the harmonic potential. This is conceptually achieved here through a non-additive translation operator, whose action leads to a perfect equivalence between the quantum harmonic oscillator in deformed space and the quantum Morse oscillator in regular space. In this way, our theoretical approach provides a distinctive first principle rationale for anharmonicity, therefore revealing a…
Completeness of the eigenfunctions of a quantum mechanical system is crucial for its probability interpretation. By using the method of contour integral we give properly normalized eigenfunctions for both discrete and continuum spectrum of the Morse potential, and explicitly prove the completeness relation. As an application we use our spectral decomposition formula to study the problem of the pricing of an Asian option traded in financial markets.
We consider the time-independent Wigner functions of phase-space quantum mechanics (a.k.a. deformation quantization) for a Morse potential. First, we find them by solving the $\ast$-eigenvalue equations, using a method that can be applied to potentials that are polynomial in an exponential. A Mellin transform converts the $\ast$-eigenvalue equations to difference equations, and factorized solutions are found directly for all values of the parameters. The symbols of both diagonal and off-diagonal density operator elements in the energy basis are found this way. The Wigner transforms of the dens…
