In this paper, we construct a new class of charged rotating dilaton black brane solutions, with complete set of rotation parameters, which is coupled to a nonlinear Maxwell field. The Lagrangian of the matter field has the form of the power-law Maxwell field. We study the causal structure of the spacetime and its physical properties in ample details. We also compute thermodynamic and conserved quantities of the spacetime such as the temperature, entropy, mass, charge, and angular momentum. We find a Smarr-formula for the mass and verify the validity of the first law of thermodynamics on the black brane horizon. Finally, we investigate the thermal stability of solutions in both canonical and grand-canonical ensembles and disclose the effects of dilaton field and nonlinearity of Maxwell field on the thermal stability of the solutions. We find that for $α\leq 1$, charged rotating black brane solutions are thermally stable independent of the values of the other parameters. For $α>1$, the solutions can encounter an unstable phase depending on the metric parameters.
We consider Einstein-Maxwell-Dilaton theory in $(2+1)$-dimensions where the coupling between the scalar field and the Maxwell invariant is the dilatonic coupling $f(ϕ) = \exp (-2αϕ)$ and obtain novel exact rotating black hole solutions. The dilatonic parameter $α$ impacts the metric function, affecting the rotating properties of the black hole, its mass and also its thermodynamics. Calculating the entropy we find that it is always positive and the dilatonic black holes may have higher entropy than the BTZ black hole. Depending on the parameters, the dilatonic BTZ-like black hole may be thermod…
We compute the quasinormal frequencies for scalar perturbations of hairy black holes in four-dimensional Einstein-Maxwell-dilaton theory assuming a non-trivial scalar potential for the dilaton field. We investigate the impact on the spectrum of the angular degree, the overtone number, the charges of the black hole as well as the magnitude of the scalar potential. All modes are found to be stable. Our numerical results are summarized in tables, and for better visualization, we show them graphically as well.
We study the process of fully nonlinear dynamical scalarization starting from a charged black hole or a naked singularity in asymptotically flat spacetime in the Einstein-Maxwell-dilaton theory. Initially the dilaton field is negligible compared to the gravitational and the Maxwell field. Then the dilaton field experiences an immediate growth, later it oscillates with damping amplitude and finally settles down to a finite value. For a hairy black hole develops from an original Reissner-Nordström black hole, since the dilaton oscillation and decay are almost independent of the coupling paramete…
We construct new classes of cosmological solution to the five dimensional Einstein-Maxwell-dilaton theory, that are non-stationary and almost conformally regular everywhere. The base geometry for the solutions is the four-dimensional Bianchi type IX geometry. In the theory, the dilaton field is coupled to the electromagnetic field and the cosmological constant term, with two different coupling constants. We consider all possible solutions with different values of the coupling constants, where the cosmological constant takes any positive, negative or zero values. In the ansatzes for the metric,…
The uniqueness theorem for static, spherically symmetric, asymptotically flat, higher dimensional phantom black holes, with non-degenerate event horizon , being the solutions of Einstein phantom/dilaton Maxwell/anti-Maxwell gravity systems is considered. Conformal positive energy theorem and conformal transformations authorize the crucial tools for exploiting the boundary conditions and conformal flatness.
In this paper, we study the four dimensional Einstein-Maxwell-dilaton (EMD) theories in the Newman-Penrose (NP) formalism. We adapt the equations of motion into the NP formalism, and obtain the solution space that is asymptotic to the flat space-time. We then investigate the gravitational and electromagnetic memory effects. We find that the dilaton does not contribute to the displacement nor the kick memory effects, but it does contribute to the time-delayed memory effect.
It is shown that, in contrast to the case of extreme 4d dilatonic black holes, 4d neutral dilatonic black holes with horizon singularities can not be interpreted as nonsingular nondilatonic black p-branes in (4+p) dimensions, regardless of the number of extra dimensions p. That is, extra dimensions do not remove naked singularities of 4d neutral dilatonic black holes.
