In this paper, we study rings having the property that every right ideal is automorphism-invariant. Such rings are called right $a$-rings. It is shown that (1) a right $a$-ring is a direct sum of a square-full semisimple artinian ring and a right square-free ring, (2) a ring $R$ is semisimple artinian if and only if the matrix ring $\mathbb{M}_n(R)$ for some $n>1$ is a right $a$-ring, (3) every right $a$-ring is stably-finite, (4) a right $a$-ring is von Neumann regular if and only if it is semiprime, and (5) a prime right $a$-ring is simple artinian. We also describe the structure of an indecomposable right artinian right non-singular right $a$-ring as a triangular matrix ring of certain block matrices.
We consider rings whose one-sided ideals are close to automorphism-invariant modules. We study rings in which every (finitely generated) right ideal is automorphism invariant and rings in which every right ideal is a finite direct sum of automorphism invariant ideals. Connections between these classes of rings, $q$-ring and $Σ$-$q$-rings are also considered
We prove the Freiheitssatz for right-symmetric algebras and the decidability of the word problem for right-symmetric algebras with a single defining relation. We also prove that two generated subalgebras of free right-symmetric algebras are free and automorphisms of two generated free right-symmetric algebras are tame.
$\textbf{Theorem 1.2.}$ For a ring $A$, the following conditions are equivalent. $\textbf{1)}$ $A$ is a right automorphism-invariant right non-singular ring. $\textbf{2)}$ $A$ is a right automorphism-invariant regular ring. $\textbf{3)}$ $A=S\times T$, where $S$ is a right injective regular ring and $T$ is a strongly regular ring which contains all invertible elements of its maximal right ring of quotients. $\textbf{Theorem 1.5.}$ For a ring $A$ with right Goldie radical $G(A_A)$, the following conditions are equivalent. $\textbf{1)}$ $A/G(A_A)$ is a semiprime right Goldie ring. $\textbf{2)}$ …
Every automorphism-invariant right non-singular $A$-module is injective if and only if the factor ring of the ring $A$ with respect to its right Goldie radical is a right strongly semiprime ring.
A module is called automorphism-invariant if it is invariant under any automorphism of its injective hull. In [Algebras for which every indecomposable right module is invariant in its injective envelope, Pacific J. Math., vol. 31, no. 3 (1969), 655-658] Dickson and Fuller had shown that if $R$ is a finite-dimensional algebra over a field $\mathbb F$ with more than two elements then an indecomposable automorphism-invariant right $R$-module must be quasi-injective. In this paper we show that this result fails to hold if $\mathbb F$ is a field with two elements. Dickson and Fuller had further sho…
A module $M$ is called an automorphism-invariant module if every isomorphism between two essential submodules of $M$ extends to an automorphism of $M$. This paper introduces the notion of dual of such modules. We call a module $M$ to be a dual automorphism-invariant module if whenever $K_1$ and $K_2$ are small submodules of $M$, then any epimorphism $η:M/K_1\rightarrow M/K_2$ with small kernel lifts to an endomorphism $φ$ of $M$. In this paper we give various examples of dual automorphism-invariant module and study its properties. In particular, we study abelian groups and prove that dual auto…
In this paper we study modules coinvariant under automorphisms of their projective covers. We first provide an alternative, and in fact, a more succinct and conceptual proof for the result that a module $M$ is invariant under automorphisms of its injective envelope if and only if given any submodule $N$ of $M$, any monomorphism $f:N\rightarrow M$ can be extended to an endomorphism of $M$ and then, as a dual of it, we show that over a right perfect ring, a module $M$ is coinvariant under automorphisms of its projective cover if and only if for every submodule $N$ of $M$, any epimorphism $φ: M\r…
The main goal of the paper is to establish the existence of tensor product decompositions for those prime ideals P of the generic algebra A of quantum n by n matrices which are invariant under winding automorphisms of A. More specifically, every such P is the kernel of a map from A to (A^+/P^+) tensor (A^-/P^-) obtained by composing comultiplication, localization, and quotient maps, where A^+ and A^- are special localized quotients of A while P^+ and P^- are prime ideals invariant under winding automorphisms. Further, the algebras A^+ and A^-, which vary with P, can be chosen so that the corre…
Let $R$ be a 2-torsion free $σ$-prime ring. It is shown here that if $U\not\subset Z(R)$ is a $σ$-Lie ideal of $R$ and $a, b$ in $R$ such that $aUb=σ(a)Ub=0,$ then either $a=0$ or $b=0.$ This result is then applied to study the relationship between the structure of $R$ and certain automorphisms on $R$. To end this paper, we describe additive maps $d: R \longrightarrow R$ such that $d(u^2) = 2ud(u)$ where $u\in U,$ a nonzero $σ$-square closed Lie ideal of $R.$
Let R be a Lie nilpotent algebra of index k over a field K of characteristic zero. If G is an n-element subgroup of Aut(R) of the K-automorphisms, then we prove that R is right integral over Fix(G) of degree n^k. In the presence of a primitive n-th root of unity e in K, for a K-automorphism d in Aut(R) with d^n=id, we prove that the skew polynomial algebra R[w,d] is right integral of degree n^k over Fix(d)[w^n].
It is proved, among other results, that a prime right nonsingular ring (in particular, a simple ring) $R$ is right self-injective if $R_R$ is invariant under automorphisms of its injective hull. This answers two questions raised by Singh and Srivastava, and Clark and Huynh. An example is given to show that this conclusion no longer holds when prime ring is replaced by semiprime ring in the above assumption. Also shown is that automorphism-invariant modules are precisely pseudo-injective modules, answering a recent question of Lee and Zhou. Furthermore, rings whose cyclic modules are automorphi…
The left-ideal relation graph on a ring $R$, denoted by $\overrightarrow{Γ_{l-i}}(R)$, is a directed graph whose vertex set is all the elements of $R$ and there is a directed edge from $x$ to a distinct $y$ if and only if the left ideal generated by $x$, written as $[x]$, is properly contained in the left ideal generated by $y$. In this paper, the automorphisms of $\overrightarrow{Γ_{l-i}}(R)$ are characterized, where $R$ is the ring of all $n \times n$ matrices over a finite field $F_q$. The undirected left relation graph, denoted by $Γ_{l-i}(M_n(F_q))$, is the simple graph whose vertices are…
Let q be a nonzero complex number that is not a root of unity. We give a criterion for (0) to be a primitive ideal of the algebra O_q(M_{m,n}) of quantum matrices. Next, we describe all height one primes of O_q(M_{m,n}); these two problems are actually interlinked since it turns out that (0) is a primitive ideal of O_q(M_{m,n}) whenever O_q(M_{m,n}) has only finitely many height one primes. Finally, we compute the automorphism group of O_q(M_{m,n}) in the case where m is not equal to n. In order to do this, we first study the action of this group on the prime spectrum of O_q(M_{m,n}). Then, by…
A classification up to automorphism of the inner ideals of the real finite-dimensional simple Lie algebras is given, jointly with precise descriptions in the case of the exceptional Lie algebras.
Let $R$ be a commutative integral domain with unit, $f$ be a nonconstant monic polynomial in $R[t]$, and $I_f \subset R[t]$ be the ideal generated by $f$. In this paper we study the group of $R$-algebra automorphisms of the $R$-algebra without unit $I_f$. We show that, if $f$ has only one root (possibly with multiplicity), then $Aut (I_f) \cong R^\times$. We also show that, under certain mild hypothesis, if $f$ has at least two different roots in the algebraic closure of the quotient field of $R$, then $Aut(I_f)$ is a cyclic group and its order can be completely determined by analyzing the roo…
Let ${\mathfrak g}$ be a finite dimensional complex simple Lie algebra, and let $r,s\in \mathbb{C}^{\ast}$ be transcendental over $\mathbb{Q}$ such that $r^{m}s^{n}=1$ implies $m=n=0$. We will obtain some basic properties of the two-parameter quantized enveloping algebra $U_{r,s}^{+}(\mathfrak g)$. In particular, we will verify that the algebra $U_{r,s}^{+}(\mathfrak g)$ satisfies many nice properties such as having normal separation, catenarity and Dixmier-Moeglin equivalence. We shall study a concrete example, the algebra $U_{r,s}^{+}(B_{2})$ in detail. We will first determine the normal ele…
We prove that the only proper right ideal of the universal enveloping algebra of a finite-dimensional central simple Lie triple system over a field of characteristic zero is its augmentation ideal.
Let $A_{1} := k [t, \partial ]$ be the first algebra over a field $k$ of characteristic zero. One can associate to each right ideal $I$ of $A_1$ its Stafford subgroup, which is a subgroup of $\Aut_k(A_1)$, the automorphism group of the ring $A_1$. In this article we show that each Stafford subgroup is equal to its normalizer. For that, we study when the Stafford subgroup of a right ideal of $A_1$ contains a given Stafford subgroup.
Completely prime right ideals are introduced as a one-sided generalization of the concept of a prime ideal in a commutative ring. Some of their basic properties are investigated, pointing out both similarities and differences between these right ideals and their commutative counterparts. We prove the Completely Prime Ideal Principle, a theorem stating that right ideals that are maximal in a specific sense must be completely prime. We offer a number of applications of the Completely Prime Ideal Principle arising from many diverse concepts in rings and modules. These applications show how comple…
In this paper we study \textit{right Mori Orders}, which are those prime Goldie rings that satisfy the ascending chain condition on regular integral right divisorial right ideals. We will show that the class of right Mori orders is closed with respect to Morita-equivalence. We also prove that each regular right divisorial right ideal of a right Mori order is contained in only finitely many right divisorial completely prime right ideals. Moreover, we show that such right divisorial ideals can be represent as a finite intersection of $ν$-irreducible ideals of the form $aS:_rb$ for some regular $…
Let R be a prime ring with center Z(R) and extended centroid C, H a non-zero generalized derivation of R and n>1 a fixed integer. In this paper we study the situations: (1) H(u2)n-H(u)2n in C for all u in L, where L is a non-central Lie ideal of R; (2) H(u2)n - H(u)2n = 0 for all u in [I; I], where I is a nonzero right ideal of R.
A generalized pseudo effect algebra (GPEA) is a partially ordered partial algebraic structure with a smallest element 0, but not necessarily with a unit (i.e, a largest element). If a GPEA admits a so-called unitizing automorphism, then it can be embedded as an order ideal in its so-called unitization, which does have a unit. We study unitizations of GPEAs with respect to a unitizing automorphism, paying special attention to the behavior of congruences and ideals in this setting.
In this paper we introduce the notion of right waist and right comparizer ideals for semigroups. In particular, we study the ideal theory of semigroups containing right waists and right comparizer ideals. We also study those properties of right cones that can be carried over to right $P$-comparable semigroups. We give sufficient and necessary conditions on the set of nilpotent elements of a semigroup to be an ideal. We provide several equivalent characterizations for a right ideal being a right waist. In one of our main result we show that in a right $P_1$-comparable semigroup with left cancel…
The group $\rG_n$ of automorphisms of the algebra $\mI_n:=K< x_1, >..., x_n, \frac{\der}{\der x_1}, ... ,\frac{\der}{\der x_n}, \int_1, >..., \int_n>$ of polynomial integro-differential operators is found: $$ \rG_n=S_n\ltimes \mT^n\ltimes \Inn (\mI_n) \supseteq S_n\ltimes \mT^n \ltimes \underbrace{\GL_\infty (K)\ltimes... \ltimes \GL_\infty (K)}_{2^n-1 {\rm times}}, $$ $$ \rG_1\simeq \mT^1 \ltimes \GL_\infty (K),$$ where $S_n$ is the symmetric group, $\mT^n$ is the $n$-dimensional torus, $\Inn (\mI_n)$ is the group of inner automorphisms of $\mI_n$ (which is huge). It is proved that each autom…
In a Dedekind domain $D$, every non-zero proper ideal $A$ factors as a product $A=P_1^{t_1}\cdots P_k^{t_k}$ of powers of distinct prime ideals $P_i$. For a Dedekind domain $D$, the $D$-modules $D/P_i^{t_i}$ are uniserial. We extend this property studying suitable factorizations $A=A_1\dots A_n$ of a right ideal $A$ of an arbitrary ring $R$ as a product of proper right ideals $A_1,\dots,A_n$ with all the modules $R/A_i$ uniserial modules. When such factorizations exist, they are unique up to the order of the factors. Serial factorizations turn out to have connections with the theory of $h$-loc…
Let $A$ be a ring and $φ$ its automorphism. It is proved that skew Laurent series ring $A((x,φ))$ is a right serial ring if and only if $A$ is a right serial right Artinian ring.
In this manuscript, we introduce a new concept, which is called fuzzy left (right) derivations KU- ideals in KU-algebras. We state and prove some theorems about fundamental properties of it. Moreover, we give the concepts of the image and the pre-image of fuzzy left (right) derivations KU-ideals under homomorphism of KU- algebras and investigated some its properties. Further, we have proved that every the image and the pre-image of fuzzy left (right) derivations KU-ideals under homomorphism of KU- algebras are fuzzy left (right) derivations KU-ideals
Let R be a commutative ring with unity $1\in R$. In this article, we introduce the concept of prime principal right ideal rings (\textbf{PPRIR}), A prime ideal P of R is said to be prime principal right ideal (\textbf{PPRI}) is given by $P =\{ ar : r\in R\}$ for some element a. The ring R is said to be prime principal right ideal ring (\textbf{PPRIR}) if every prime ideal of R is a prime principal right ideal (\textbf{PPRI}). A prime principal right ideal ring R is called a prime principal right ideal domain (\textbf{PPRID}) if R is a domain. Several properties and characteristics of prime pri…
Let g be a complex simple Lie algebra of type B_2 and q be a non-zero complex number which is not a root of unity. In the classical case, a theorem of Dixmier asserts that the simple factor algebras of the positive part U^+(g) of the enveloping algebra of g, whose Gelfand-Kirillov dimension is equal to 2, are isomorphic to the first Weyl algebra. In order to obtain some new quantized analogues of the first Weyl algebra, we explicitly describe the prime and primitive spectra of the positive part U_q^+(g) of the quantized enveloping algebra of g and then we study the simple factor algebras of U_…
A complete description of subgroups in the general linear group over a semilocal ring containing the group of diagonal matrices was obtained by Z.I.Borewicz and N.A.Vavilov. It is shown in the present paper that a similar description holds for the intermediate subgroups of the group of all automorphisms of the lattice of right submodules of a free finite rank R-module over a simple Artinian ring containing the group consisting of those automorphisms which leave invariant an appropriate sublattice.
In this paper we present a procedure for computing the rational sum of the Hilbert series of a finitely generated monomial right module $N$ over the free associative algebra $K\langle x_1,\ldots,x_n \rangle$. We show that such procedure terminates, that is, the rational sum exists, when all the cyclic submodules decomposing $N$ are annihilated by monomial right ideals whose monomials define regular formal languages. The method is based on the iterative application of the colon right ideal operation to monomial ideals which are given by an eventual infinite basis. By using automata theory, we p…
