In 1981, S. V. Pchelintsev introduced the notion of topological rank for Spechtian varieties of algebras as a certain tool for studying the structure of non-nilpotent subvarieties in a given variety. We provide a variety of right alternative algebras of arbitrary given finite topological rank. Namely, we prove that the topological rank of the variety of right alternative metabelian (solvable of index two) algebras that are Lie-nilpotent of step not more than $s$ over a field of characteristic distinct from two and three is equal to $s$.
We give an explicit description of commutative post-Lie algebra structures on some classes of nilpotent Lie algebras. For non-metabelian filiform nilpotent Lie algebras and Lie algebras of strictly upper-triangular matrices we show that all CPA-structures are associative and induce an associated Poisson-admissible algebra.
Non-finitely based varieties of right alternative metabelian algebras
Let $K[X_d]=K[x_1,\ldots,x_d]$ be the polynomial algebra in $d$ variables over a field $K$ of characteristic 0. The classical theorem of Weitzenböck from 1932 states that for linear locally nilpotent derivations $δ$ (known as Weitzenböck derivations) the algebra of constants $K[X_{d}]^δ$ is finitely generated. When the Weitzenböck derivation $δ$ acts on the polynomial algebra $K[X_d,Y_d]$ in $2d$ variables by $δ(y_i)=x_i$, $δ(x_i)=0$, $i=1,\ldots,d$, Nowicki conjectured that $K[X_d,Y_d]^δ$ is generated by $X_d$ and $x_iy_j-y_ix_j$ for all $1\leq i<j\leq d$. There are several proofs based on di…
We present algebraic and geometric classifications of the $4$-dimensional complex nilpotent right alternative algebras. Specifically, we find that, up to isomorphism, there are only $9$ non-isomorphic nontrivial nilpotent right alternative algebras. The corresponding geometric variety has dimension $13$ and it is determined by the Zariski closure of $4$ rigid algebras and one one-parametric family of algebras.
Let $L_{n}$ be the free Lie algebra, $F_{n}$ be the free metabelian Lie algebra, and $L_{n,c}$ be the free metabelian nilpotent of class $c$ Lie algebra of rank $n$ generated by $x_1,\ldots,x_n$ over a field $K$ of characteristic zero. We call a polynomial $p(X_n)$ symmetric in these Lie algebras if $p(x_1,\ldots,x_n)=p(x_{π(1)},\ldots,x_{π(n)})$ for each element $π$ of the symmetric group $S_n$. The sets $L_n^{S_n}$, $F_n^{S_n}$, and $L_{n,c}^{S_n}$ of symmetric polynomials coincide with the algebras of invariants of the group $S_n$ in $L_{n}$, $F_{n}$, and $L_{n,c}$, respectively. We determi…
For an nxn matrix A over a Lie nilpotent ring R of index k, we prove that an invariant "power" Cayley-Hamilton identity of degree (n^2)2^{k-2} holds. The right coefficients are not uniquely determined by A, and the cosets lambda_i+D, with D the double commutator ideal R[[R,R],R]R of R, appear in the so-called second right characteristic polynomial of the natural image of A in the nxn matrix ring M_{n}(R/D) over the factor ring R/D.
Let R be a Lie nilpotent algebra of index k over a field K of characteristic zero. If G is an n-element subgroup of Aut(R) of the K-automorphisms, then we prove that R is right integral over Fix(G) of degree n^k. In the presence of a primitive n-th root of unity e in K, for a K-automorphism d in Aut(R) with d^n=id, we prove that the skew polynomial algebra R[w,d] is right integral of degree n^k over Fix(d)[w^n].
Semisimple Lie algebras have been completely classified by Cartan and Killing. The Levi theorem states that every finite dimensional Lie algebra is isomorphic to a semidirect sum of its largest solvable ideal and a semisimple Lie algebra. These focus the classification of solvable Lie algebras as one of the main challenges of Lie algebra research. One approach towards this task is to take a class of nilpotent Lie algebras and construct all extensions of these algebras to solvable ones. In this paper, we propose another approach, i.e., to decompose a solvable nonnilpotent Lie algebra to two nil…
We show that the right ideal of a Novikov algebra generated by the square of a right nilpotent subalgebra is nilpotent. We also prove that a $G$-graded Novikov algebra $N$ over a field $K$ with solvable $0$-component $N_0$ is solvable, where $G$ is a finite additive abelean group and the characteristic of $K$ does not divide the order of the group $G$. We also show that any Novikov algebra $N$ with a finite solvable group of automorphisms $G$ is solvable if the algebra of invariants $N^G$ is solvable.
Let $L_n$ be the free metabelian Leibniz algebra generated by the set $X_n=\{x_1,\ldots,x_n\}$ over a field $K$ of characteristic zero. This is the free algebra of rank $n$ in the variety of solvable of class $2$ Leibniz algebras. We call an element $s(X_n)\in L_n$ symmetric if $s(x_{σ(1)},\ldots,x_{σ(n)})=s(x_1,\ldots,x_n)$ for each permutation $σ$ of $\{1,\ldots,n\}$. The set $L_n^{S_n}$ of symmetric polynomials of $L_n$ is the algebra of invariants of the symmetric group $S_n$. Let $K[X_n]$ be the usual polynomial algebra with indeterminates from $X_n$. The description of the algebra $K[X_n…
We prove that any Novikov algebra over a field of characteristic $\neq 2$ is Lie-solvable if and only if its commutator ideal $[N,N]$ is right nilpotent. We also construct examples of infinite-dimensional Lie-solvable Novikov algebras $N$ with non nilpotent commutator ideal $[N,N]$.
In this paper a simple algebraic formula is obtained for the correspondence between finite right nilpotent Fp-braces and finite nilpotent pre-Lie algebras. This correspondence agrees with the correspondence using Lazard's correspondence between finite Fp-braces and pre-Lie algebras proposed by Wolfgang Rump in 2014. As an application example, a classification of all right nilpotent Fp-braces generated by one element of cardinality p^4 is obtained, answering a question posed by Leandro Vendramin. It is also shown that the sum of a finite number of left nilpotent ideals in a left brace is a left…
An example of a non-triangulable locally nilpotent derivation and an example of a wild exponential automorphism of the free Novikov algebra $N\left\langle x,y,z\right\rangle$ in three variables $x,y,z$ over a field of characteristic zero are constructed.
We describe all $\mathbb F_{p}$-braces of cardinality $p^{4}$ which are not right nilpotent. Our solution illustrates a general way of investigating $\mathbb F_{p}$-braces of cardinality $p^{n}$ with a given multiplicative group. The constructed braces are left nilpotent, solvable and prime, and they also contain a non-zero strongly nilpotent ideal.
We classify nilpotent pre-Lie rings of cardinality $p^4$ and thereby braces of the same cardinality, for a sufficiently large prime $p$. It has been shown that nilpotent pre-Lie rings of cardinality $p^n$ correspond to strongly nilpotent braces of the same cardinality, for sufficiently large $p$. These braces are explicitly obtained from the corresponding pre-Lie rings by the construction of the group of flows. Not right nilpotent braces of cardinality $p^4$ have been classified, hence our results finish the classification of braces of cardinality $p^4$.

Given a finite dimensional Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$, let $\mathfrak{z}(\mathfrak{g})$ denote the center of $\mathfrak{g}$ and let $μ(\mathfrak{g})$ be the minimal possible dimension for a faithful representation of $\mathfrak{g}$. In this paper we obtain $μ(\mathcal{L}_{r,2})$, where $\mathcal{L}_{r,k}$ is the free $k$-step nilpotent Lie algebra of rank $r$. In particular we prove that $μ(\mathcal{L}_{r,2})= \left\lceil \sqrt{2r(r-1)} \right\rceil + 2$ for $r \geq 4$. It turns out that $μ(\mathcal{L}_{r,2}) \simμ\big(\mathfrak{z}(\mathcal{L}_{r,2})\big) \sim 2\sqrt{\dim\mathcal{L}_{r,2}} $ (…
Generators and defining relations for ring of invariants of commuting locally nilpotent derivations or automorphisms
Let $A$ be an algebra over a field $K$ of characteristic zero, let $\d_1, >..., \d_s\in \Der_K(A)$ be { \em commuting locally nilpotent} $K$ -derivations such that $\d_i(x_j)=\d_{ij}$ , the Kronecker delta , for some elements $x_1,..., x_s\in A$ . A set of algebra generators for the algebra $A^\d:= \cap_{i=1}^s\ker (\d_i)$ is found { \em explicitly} and a set of { \em defining relations} for the algebra $A^\d$ is described. Similarly, given a set $\s_1, ..., \s_s\in \Aut_K(A)$ of { \em commuting} $K$ -automorphisms of the algebra $A$ such that the maps $\s_i-{\rm id_A}$ are { \em locally nilpo…
