We prove that the Arithmetic Fundamental Lemma conjecture of Wei Zhang is equivalent to a similar conjecture, but for Lie algebras, in the case of non-degenerate intersection. We use this result to give a simplified proof of the AFL for $n=3$. The idea for the reduction to the Lie algebra is due to Wei Zhang.
We verify new cases of the Arithmetic Fundamental Lemma (AFL) of Wei Zhang. This relies on a recursive algorithm which allows, under certain conditions, to reduce the AFL identity in question to an AFL identity in lower dimension. The main ingredient for this reduction is a comparison isomorphism between different moduli problems of PEL-type for p-divisible groups. The construction of this comparison isomorphism is based on the theory of relative displays and frames, as developed by Tobias Ahsendorf, Eike Lau and Thomas Zink.
We define some formal moduli space of quasi-isogenies of isoclinic $p$-divisible groups with a non-reductive group as the "structure group". We then formulate new Arithmetic Fundamental Lemma conjectures for Bessel subgroups in the context of the arithmetic Gan-Gross-Prasad conjectures. Some (very limited) evidence is presented.
We prove a character formula for some closed fine Deligne-Lusztig varieties. We apply it to compute fixed points for fine Deligne-Lusztig varieties arising from the basic loci of Shimura varieties of Coxeter type. As an application, we prove an arithmetic intersection formula for certain diagonal cycles on unitary and GSpin Rapoport-Zink spaces arising from the arithmetic Gan-Gross-Prasad conjectures. In particular, we prove the arithmetic fundamental lemma in the minuscule case, without assumptions on the residual characteristic.

We show that the integral models of Shimura varieties of Rapoport, Smithling and Zhang in relation to variants of the arithmetic Gan-Gross-Prasad conjecture, the arithmetic fundamental lemma conjecture and the arithmetic transfer conjecture are canonical in the sense prescribed by Pappas. In particular, we prove that they are isomorphic to the models constructed by Kisin and Pappas.
In the study of automorphic representations over a function field, Hitchin moduli stack and its variants naturally appear and their geometry helps the comparison of trace formulae. We give a survey on applications of this observation to a relative fundamental lemma, the arithmetic fundamental lemma and to the higher Gross-Zagier formula.
In this article, we develop an arithmetic analogue of Fourier--Jacobi period integrals for a pair of unitary groups of equal rank. We construct the so-called Fourier--Jacobi cycles, which are algebraic cycles on the product of unitary Shimura varieties and abelian varieties. We propose the arithmetic Gan--Gross--Prasad conjecture for these cycles, which is related to central derivatives of certain Rankin--Selberg $L$-functions, and develop a relative trace formula approach toward this conjecture. As a necessary ingredient, we propose the conjecture of the corresponding arithmetic fundamental l…
