In this paper, we study the existence of minimizers to the following functional related to the nonlinear Choquard equation: $$
E(u)=\frac{1}{2}\ds\int_{\R^N}|\nabla u|^2+\frac{1}{2}\ds\int_{\R^N}V(x)|u|^2-\frac{1}{2p}\ds\int_{\R^N}(I_\al*|u|^p)|u|^p $$ on $\widetilde{S}(c)=\{u\in H^1(\R^N)|\ \int_{\R^N}V(x)|u|^2<+\infty,\ |u|_2=c,c>0\},$ where $N\geq1$ $\al\in(0,N)$, $\frac{N+α}{N}\leq p<\frac{N+α}{(N-2)_+}$ and $I_\al:\R^N\rightarrow\R$ is the Riesz potential. We present sharp existence results for $E(u)$ constrained on $\widetilde{S}(c)$ when $V(x)\equiv0$ for all $\frac{N+α}{N}\leq p<\frac{N+α}{(N-2)_+}$. For the mass critical case $p=\frac{N+α+2}{N}$, we show that if $0\leq V(x)\in L_{loc}^{\infty}(\R^N)$ and $\lim\limits_{|x|\rightarrow+\infty}V(x)=+\infty$, then mass minimizers exist only if $0<c<c_*=|Q|_2$ and concentrate at the flattest minimum of $V$ as $c$ approaches $c_*$ from below, where $Q$ is a groundstate solution of $-Δu+u=(I_α*|u|^{\frac{N+α+2}{N}})|u|^{\frac{N+α+2}{N}-2}u$ in $\R^N$.
We consider the generalized Choquard equation describing trapped electron gas in 3 dimensional case. The study of orbital stability of the energy minimizers (known as ground states) depends essentially in the local uniqueness of these minimizers. In equivalent way one can optimize the Gagliardo--Nirenberg inequality subject to the constraint fixing the $L^2$ norm. The uniqueness of the minimizers for the case $p=2$, i.e. for the case of Hartree--Choquard is well known. The main difficulty for the case $p > 2$ is connected with possible lack of control on the $L^p$ norm of the minimizers.
We study the $p$-Choquard equation in 3-dimensional case and establish existence and uniqueness of ground states for the corresponding Weinstein functional. For proving the uniqueness of ground states, we use the radial symmetry to transform the equation into an ordinary differential system, and applying the Pohozaev identities and Gronwall lemma we show that any two Weinstein minimizers coincide.
In this paper we consider the nonlinear Choquard equation $$ -Δu+V(x)u =\left(\int_{\mathbb{R}^N}\frac{G(y,u)}{|x-y|^μ}dy\right)g(x,u)\hspace{4.14mm}\mbox{in}\hspace{1.14mm} \mathbb{R}^N, $$ where $0<μ<N$, $N\geq3$, $g(x,u)$ is of critical growth due to the Hardy--Littlewood--Sobolev inequality and $G(x,u)=\displaystyle\int^u_0g(x,s)ds$. Firstly, by assuming that the potential $V(x)$ might be sign-changing, we study the existence of Mountain-Pass solution via a concentration-compactness principle for the Choquard equation. Secondly, under the conditions introduced by Benci and Cerami \cite{BC1…

In the present paper, we consider the following magnetic nonlinear Choquard equation $$ \left\{ \begin{array}{ll} & (-i \nabla+A(x))^2u + μg(x)u = λu + (|x|^{-α} * |u|^{2^*_α})|u|^{2^*_α-2}u ,\; u>0 \;\text{in} \; \mathbb{ R}^n , & u \in H^1(\mathbb{R}^n, \mathbb{ C}) \end{array} \right\}.$$ where $n \geq 4$, $2^*_α= \frac{2n-α}{n-2}$, $λ>0$, $μ\in \mathbb{ R}$ is a parameter, $α\in (0,n)$, $A(x): \mathbb{R}^n \rightarrow \mathbb{ R}^n$ is a magnetic vector potential and $g(x)$ is a real valued potential function on $\mathbb{R}^n$. Using variational methods, we establish the existence of least…
In this paper we deal with the following fractional Choquard equation \begin{equation*} \left\{ \begin{array}{ll} \varepsilon^{sp}(-Δ)^{s}_{p} u + V(x)|u|^{p-2}u = \varepsilon^{μ-N}\left(\frac{1}{|x|^μ}*F(u)\right)f(u) \mbox{ in } \mathbb{R}^{N},\\ u\in W^{s,p}(\R^{N}), \quad u>0 \mbox{ in } \mathbb{R}^{N}, \end{array} \right. \end{equation*} where $\varepsilon>0$ is a small parameter, $s\in (0, 1)$, $p\in (1, \infty)$, $N>sp$, $(-Δ)^{s}_{p}$ is the fractional $p$-Laplacian, $V$ is a positive continuous potential, $0<μ<sp$, and $f$ is a continuous superlinear function with subcritical growth. …
Infinitely many solutions for $p$-fractional Choquard type equations involving general nonlocal nonlinearities with critical growth via the concentration compactness method
In this article, first we address the regularity of weak solution for a class of $p$-fractional Choquard equations: \begin{equation*} \;\;\; \left.\begin{array}{rl} (-Δ)_p^su&=\left(\displaystyle\int_Ω\frac{F(y,u)}{|x-y|^μ}dy\right)f(x,u),\hspace{5mm}x\in Ω, u&=0,\hspace{35mm}x\in \mathbb R^N\setminus Ω, \end{array} \right\} \end{equation*} where $Ω\subset\mathbb R^N$ is a smooth bounded domain, $1<p<\infty$ and $0<s<1$ such that $sp<N,$ $0<μ<\min\{N,2sp\}$ and $f:Ω\times\mathbb R\to\mathbb R$ is a continuous function with at most critical growth condition (in the sense of Hardy-Littlewood-Sob…
In this paper, we study normalized ground state solutions for the following nonautonomous Choquard equation: $$-Δu-λu=\left(\frac{1}{|x|^μ}\ast A|u|^{p}\right)A|u|^{p-2}u,\quad \int_{\mathbb{R}^{N}}|u|^{2}dx=c,\quad u\in H^1(\mathbb{R}^N,\mathbb{R}),$$ where $c>0$, $0<μ<N$, $λ\in\mathbb{R}$, $A\in C^1(\mathbb{R}^N,\mathbb{R})$. For $p\in(2_{*,μ}, \bar{p})$, we prove that the Choquard equation possesses ground state normalized solutions, and the set of ground states is orbitally stable. For $p\in (\bar{p},2^*_μ)$, we find a normalized solution, which is not a global minimizer. $2^*_μ$ and $2_{*…
In present paper, we study the fractional Choquard equation $$\varepsilon^{2s}(-Δ)^s u+V(x)u=\varepsilon^{μ-N}(\frac{1}{|x|^μ}\ast F(u))f(u)+|u|^{2^\ast_s-2}u$$ where $\varepsilon>0$ is a parameter, $s\in(0,1),$ $N>2s,$ $2^*_s=\frac{2N}{N-2s}$ and $0<μ<\min\{2s,N-2s\}$. Under suitable assumption on $V$ and $f$, we prove this problem has a nontrivial nonnegative ground state solution. Moreover, we relate the number of nontrivial nonnegative solutions with the topology of the set where the potential attains its minimum values and their's concentration behavior.

In this paper, let $G$ be a Cayley graph of a discrete group of polynomial growth with homogeneous dimension $N\geq3$. We study the Choquard type equation on $G$: \begin{equation} Δu+(R_α\ast\mid u\mid^{p})\mid u\mid^{p-2}u=0, \end{equation} where $α\in(0,N)$, $p>\frac{N+α}{N-2}$ and $R_α$ stands for the Green's function of the discrete fractional Laplace operator, which has same asymptotics as the Riesz potential. We prove the discrete Hardy-Littlewood-Sobolev inequality on such Cayley graphs, and by the discrete Concentration-Compactness principle we prove the existence of extremal functions…

We consider the following time-independent nonlinear $L^2$-critical Schrödinger equation \[ -Δu(x)+V(x)u(x)-a|x|^{-b}|u|^{1+\frac{4-2b}{N}}=μu(x)\,\ \hbox{in}\,\ \mathbb{R}^N, \] where $μ\in\mathbb{R}$, $a>0$, $N\geq 1$, $0<b<\min\{2,N\}$, and $V(x)$ is an external potential. It is shown that ground states of the above equation can be equivalently described by minimizers of the corresponding minimization problem. In this paper, we prove that there is a threshold $a^*>0$ such that minimizer exists for $0<a<a^*$ and minimizer does not exist for any $a>a^*$. However if $a=a^*$, it is proved that …
For a nonlinear Schrödinger system with mass critical exponent, we prove the existence and orbital stability of standing-wave solutions obtained as minimizers of the underlying energy functional restricted to a double mass constraint. In addition, we discuss the concentration of a sequence of minimizers as their masses approach to certain critical masses.
In this paper, we study the existence and the concentration behavior of minimizers for $i_V(c)=\inf\limits_{u\in S_c}I_V(u)$, here $S_c=\{u\in H^1(\R^N)|~\int_{\R^N}V(x)|u|^2<+\infty,~|u|_2=c>0\}$ and $$I_V(u)=\frac{1}{2}\ds\int_{\R^N}(a|\nabla u|^2+V(x)|u|^2)+\frac{b}{4}\left(\ds\int_{\R^N}|\nabla u|^2\right)^2-\frac{1}{p}\ds\int_{\R^N}|u|^{p},$$ where $N=1,2,3$ and $a,b>0$ are constants. By the Gagliardo-Nirenberg inequality, we get the sharp existence of global constraint minimizers for $2<p<2^*$ when $V(x)\geq0$, $V(x)\in L^{\infty}_{loc}(\R^N)$ and $\lim\limits_{|x|\rightarrow+\infty}V(x)…
This paper considers ground states of mass subcritical rotational nonlinear Schrödinger equation \begin{equation*} -Δu+V(x)u+iΩ(x^\perp\cdot\nabla u)=μu+ρ^{p-1}|u|^{p-1}u \,\ \text{in} \,\ \mathbb{R}^2, \end{equation*} where $V(x)$ is an external potential, $Ω>0$ characterizes the rotational velocity of the trap $V(x)$, $1<p<3$ and $ρ>0$ describes the strength of the attractive interactions. It is shown that ground states of the above equation can be described equivalently by minimizers of the $L^2-$ constrained variational problem. We prove that minimizers exist for any $ρ\in(0,\infty)$ when …
We consider the minimizing problem for the energy functional with prescribed mass constraint related to the fractional nonlinear Schrödinger equation with periodic potentials. Using the concentration-compactness principle, we show a complete classification for the existence and non-existence of minimizers for the problem. In the mass-critical case, under a suitable assumption of the potential, we give a detailed description of blow-up behavior of minimizers once the mass tends to a critical value.
The purpose of this paper is to consider the minimization problem of the following nonlocal interaction functional \begin{equation*} E[ρ]=\frac{1}{2}\int_{\mathbb{R}^N} \int_{\mathbb{R}^N}K(x-y)ρ(x)ρ(y)dxdy+\int_{\mathbb{R}^N}F(x)ρ(x)dx. \end{equation*} The kernel $K(x)=\frac{1}{q}|x|^q-\frac{1}{p}|x|^p$ is an endogenous potential, where $q>p>-N$. The exogenous potential $F$ is a nonnegative continuous function and satisfies $F(x)\to +\infty$ as $|x|\to +\infty$. The existence of minimizers are established based on the concentration compactness principle. Especially, for $F(x)=β|x|^2(β>0)$ and…
We study the minimizers of $L^2$-subcritical inhomogeneous variational problems with spatially decaying nonlinear terms, which contain $x = 0$ as a singular point. The limit concentration behavior of minimizers is proved as $M\to\infty$ by establishing the refined analysis of the spatially decaying nonlinear term.
Typically, aggregation-diffusion is modeled by parabolic equations that combine linear or nonlinear diffusion with a Fokker-Planck convection term. Under very general suitable assumptions, we prove that radial solutions of the evolution process converge asymptotically in time towards a stationary state representing the balance between the two effects. Our parabolic system is the gradient flow of an energy functional, and in fact we show that the stationary states are minimizers of a relaxed energy. Here, we study radial solutions of an aggregation-diffusion model that combines nonlinear fast d…
We show that partial mass concentration can happen for stationary solutions of aggregation-diffusion equations with homogeneous attractive kernels in the fast diffusion range. More precisely, we prove that the free energy admits a radial global minimizer in the set of probability measures which may have part of its mass concentrated in a Dirac delta at a given point. In the case of the quartic interaction potential, we find the exact range of the diffusion exponent where concentration occurs in space dimensions $N\geq6$. We then provide numerical computations which suggest the occurrence of ma…
