The recent study of centrality and transverse momentum ($p_{T}$) dependence of inclusive charged hardron elliptic anisotropy ($v_{2}$) at midrapidity ($|η|<1.0$) in Au+Au collision at $\sqrt{s_{NN}} =$ 7.7, 11.5, 19.6, 27, and 39 GeV in STAR Beam Energy Scan program is presented. We show that the observed increase of inclusive $v_{2}$ is mainly due to the average $p_{T}$ increase with energy. In Au+Au 200 GeV collisions, the triangular anisotropy ($v_{3}$) measurements highly depend on measurment methods; $v_{3}$ is strongly dependent on $Δη$. The difference between two- and four-particle cumulants $v_{2}\lbrace{2}\rbrace$ and $v_{2}\lbrace{4}\rbrace$ for Au+Au and Cu+Cu collision at $\sqrt{s_{NN}} = $ 62.4 and 200 GeV is used to explore flow fluctuations. Furthermore, by exploiting the symmetry of average flow in pseudorapidity $η$ about mid-rapidty, the $Δη$-dependent and independent components are seperated using $v_{2}\lbrace2\rbrace$ and $v_{2}\lbrace{4}\rbrace$.
The measurement of J/{psi} azimuthal anisotropy is presented as a function of transverse momentum for different centralities in Au+Au collisions at {sqrt{s_{NN}}} = 200 GeV. The measured J/{psi} elliptic flow is consistent with zero within errors for transverse momentum between 2 and 10 GeV/c. Our measurement suggests that J/{psi} with relatively large transverse momentum are not dominantly produced by coalescence from thermalized charm quarks, when comparing to model calculations.
The PHENIX experiment discovered a large excess of low-$p_{T}$ direct photons in Au+Au collisions at 200 GeV compared to reference p+p collisions, which has been attributed to thermal radiation from the medium produced in the collisions. At the same time the excess photons show a large azimuthal anisotropy, expressed as Fourier coefficients $v_{2}$ and $v_{3}$. These surprising results have not yet been fully described by theoretical models. We will present the results obtained from real photons in the electromagnetic calorimeter and photons converted on the outer shell of the Hadron Blind Det…

The high-statistics data sets collected by the LHC experiments during the heavy-ion runs allow for a detailed study of the azimuthal anisotropy of charged particles. This report presents the selected results of $v_{n}$ measured in Pb+Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\mathrm{NN}}} = 5.02$ TeV and Xe+Xe collisions at $\sqrt{s_\mathrm{NN}} = 5.44$ TeV, with emphasis on the higher order Fourier coefficients, $v_{n}$, sensitive to initial state fluctuations of the medium created in ultra-relativistic heavy-ion collisions.
We provide a method to correct the observed azimuthal anisotropy in heavy-ion collisions for the event plane resolution in a wide centrality bin. This new procedure is especially useful for rare particles, such as Omega baryons and J/psi mesons, which are difficult to measure in small intervals of centrality. Based on a Monte Carlo calculation with simulated v_2 and multiplicity, we show that some of the commonly used methods have a bias of up to 15%.
In a relativistic heavy ion collision, heavy flavor (charm and bottom) quarks are mostly created via hard processes at the early stage of the collisions. We present the latest results of the azimuthal anisotropy coefficients $v_{\text{n}}$ for prompt and nonprompt $\text{D}^{0}$ mesons in PbPb, pPb, and pp collisions from the CMS experiment. The studies are about collectivity phenomena in smaller systems (pp and pPb collisions), searches for the effects of very strong electromagnetic fields created in the initial stages of ultrarelativistic PbPb collisions, and charm quark energy loss in the q…
In these proceedings, we present the second order ($v_{2}$) and the third order ($v_{3}$) azimuthal anisotropy measurements of strange and multi-strange hadrons such as $K^{0}_{S}$, $Λ$, $\barΛ$, $ϕ$, $Ξ^{-}$, $\barΞ^{+}$, $Ω^{-}$, $\barΩ^{+}$ in Au+Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 27 and 54.4 GeV at STAR. The centrality dependence of $v_{2}$ and $v_{3}$ as well as the number of constituent quark scaling (NCQ scaling) for all the particles mentioned above are discussed. The ratio of $v_{2}$ of $ϕ$ mesons to that of $\bar{p}$ is presented at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 54.4 GeV which gives a hint of ma…
The prompt D$^0$ meson azimuthal anisotropy coefficients, $v_2$ and $v_3$, are measured at midrapidity ($|y| < 1.0$) in PbPb collisions at a center-of-mass energy $\sqrt{s_\mathrm{NN}} = $5.02 TeV per nucleon pair with data collected by the CMS experiment. The measurement is performed in the transverse momentum ($p_\mathrm{T}$) range of 1 to 40 GeV/c, for central and midcentral collisions. The $v_2$ coefficient is found to be positive throughout the $p_\mathrm{T}$ range studied. The first measurement of the prompt D$^0$ meson $v_3$ coefficient is performed, and values up to 0.07 are observed f…
In this proceedings, we have presented the invariant yield measurements of strange and multi strange hadrons such as $K^{0}_{S}$, $Λ$, $\barΛ$, $ϕ$, $Ξ^{-}$, $\barΞ^{+}$, $Ω^{-}$, $\barΩ^{+}$ in Au+Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 54.4 GeV at midrapidity ($|y|<0.5$). The second and third-order azimuthal anisotropic flow of the above mentioned particles at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 27 and 54.4 GeV are also discussed. Some of the important observables such as nuclear modification factor ($R_{CP}$), baryon to meson ratio ($Ω/ϕ$), transverse momentum dependence of $v_{2}$ and $v_{3}$ are measured. The n…
We trace the development of elliptic anisotropy (v2) via parton-parton collision history in two transport models. The parton v2 is studied as a function of the number of collisions of each parton in Au+Au and d+Au collisions at sNN =200 GeV. It is found that the majority of v2 comes from the anisotropic escape probability of partons, with no fundamental difference at low and high transverse momenta. The contribution to v2 from hydrodynamic-type collective flow is found to be small. Only when the parton-parton cross-section is set unrealistically large does this contribution start to take over.…
