Let $A$ be the generic abelian crossed product with respect to $\mathbb{Z}_3\times \mathbb{Z}_3$, in this note we show that $A$ is similar to the tensor product of 4 symbol algebras (3 of degree 9 and one of degree 3) and if $A$ is of exponent $3$ it is similar to the product of 31 symbol algebras of degree $3$. We then use \cite{RS} to prove that if $A$ is any algebra of degree $9$ then $A$ is similar to the product of $35840$ symbol algebras ($8960$ of degree $3$ and $26880$ of degree $9$) and if $A$ is of exponent $3$ it is similar to the product of $277760$ symbol algebras of degree $3$. We then show that the essential $3$-dimension of the class of $A$ is at most $6$.
In this paper we work with unital twisted partial actions. We investigate ring theoretic properties of partial crossed products as artinianity, noetherianity, perfect property, semilocalproperty, semiprimary property and we also study the Krull dimension. Moreover, we consider triangular matrix representation of partial skew group rings, weak and global dimensions of partial crossed products Also we study when the partial crossed products are Frobenius and symmetric algebras.
We prove that the noncyclic generic abelian crossed product p-algebras constructed by Amitsur and Saltman remain noncyclic after tensoring by any prime to p extension.
Hopf crossed products, or in other words, cleft comodule algebras form a special but important class in Hopf-Galois extensions. To discuss this interesting subject, we will start with the more familiar group crossed products, and then see that they are naturally generalized by Hopf crossed products; these Hopf crossed products are characterized as Hopf-Galois extensions with normal basis. After showing this characterization due to Doi and Takeuchi, we will proceed to two applications of Hopf crossed products---the equivariant smoothness of Hopf algebras, and the tensor product decomposition in…
In order to simultaneously generalize matrix rings and group graded crossed products, we introduce category crossed products. For such algebras we describe the center and the commutant of the coefficient ring. We also investigate the connection between on the one hand maximal commutativity of the coefficient ring and on the other hand nonemptyness of intersections of the coefficient ring by nonzero twosided ideals.
In this brief note, we revisit a class of crossed-product orders over discrete valuation rings introduced by D. E. Haile. We give simple but useful criteria, which involve only the two-cocycle associated with a given crossed-product order, for determining whether such an order is a hereditary order or a maximal order.
We investigate properties of commutative subrings and ideals in non-commutative algebraic crossed products for actions by arbitrary groups. A description of the commutant of the base coefficient subring in the crossed product ring is given. Conditions for commutativity and maximal commutativity of the commutant of the base subring are provided in terms of the action as well as in terms of the intersection of ideals in the crossed product ring with the base subring, specially taking into account both the case of base rings without non-trivial zero-divisors and the case of base rings with non-tr…
Let F be a Henselian valued field with char(F) = p and D a semi-ramified, "not strongly degenerate" p-algebra. We show that all Galois subfields of D are inertial. Using this as a tool we study generic abelian crossed product p-algebras, proving among other things that the noncyclic generic abelian crossed product p-algebras defined by non-degenerate matrices are indecomposable p-algebras. To construct examples of these indecomposable p-algebras with exponent p and large index we study the relationship between degeneracy in matrices defining abelian crossed products and torsion in CH^2 of Seve…
Families of codes such as group codes, constacyclic and skew cyclic codes, some of which independently suggested in the literature, turn out to be special instances of the general family of crossed product codes. Hamming-metric is a main feature of ambient code spaces which is used to evaluate the efficiency of their various codes. This note aims at classifying the ambient spaces of crossed products up to Hamming-isometry. We establish a criterion for two crossed products of a group G over a base ring R to be isometric in terms of a certain G-automorphism action on the second cohomology of G w…
In this paper we study the relationship between degeneracy and decomposability in abelian crossed products. In particular we construct an indecomposable abelian crossed product division algebra of exponent $p$ and index $p^2$ for $p$ an odd prime. The algebra we construct is generic in the sense of Amitsur and Saltman and has the property that its underlying abelian crossed product is a decomposable division algebra defined by a non-degenerate matrix. This algebra gives an example of an indecomposable generic abelian crossed product which is shown to be indecomposable without using torsion in …
Let $(H,α)$ be a monoidal Hom-Hopf algebra, and $(A,β)$ a Hom-algebra. In this paper we will introduce the crossed product $(A\#_σH,β\otimesα)$, which is a Hom-algebra. Then we will introduce the notions of cleft extensions and Galois extensions respectively, and prove that a crossed product is equivalent to a cleft extension and a cleft extension is equivalent to a Galois extension with normal bases property.
We consider the class of crossed products of noetherian domains with universal enveloping algebras of Lie algebras. For algebras from this class we give a sufficient condition for the existence of projective non-free modules. This class includes Weyl algebras and universal envelopings of Lie algebras, for which this question, known as noncommutative Serre's problem, was extensively studied before. It turns out that the method of lifting of non-trivial stably free modules from simple Ore extensions can be applied to crossed products after an appropriate choice of filtration. The motivating exam…
We compare the restriction to the context of weak Hopf algebras of the notion of crossed product with a Hopf algebroid introduced in \cite{BB} with the notion of crossed product with a weak Hopf algebra introduced in~\cite{AG}
Let $F^λ_σ [G]$ be a crossed product of a group $G$ and the field $F$. We study the Lie properties of $F^λ_σ [G]$ in order to obtain a characterization of those crossed products which are upper (lower) Lie nilpotent and Lie $(n,m)$-Engel.
In a previous paper we proved a result of the type "invariance under twisting" for Brzezinski's crossed products. In this paper we prove a converse of this result, obtaining thus a characterization of what we call equivalent crossed products. As an application, we characterize cross product bialgebras (in the sense of Bespalov and Drabant) that are equivalent (in a certain sense) to a given cross product bialgebra in which one of the factors is a bialgebra and whose coalgebra structure is a tensor product coalgebra.
We obtain that the global dimensions of $R$ and the crossed product $R # _σH$ are the same; meantime, their weak dimensions are also the same, when $H$ is finite-dimensional semisimple and cosemisimple Hopf algebra.
In this paper, we study Lie Rinehart bialgebras, the algebraic generalization of Lie bialgebroids. More precisely, we analyze the structure of Lie Rinehart bialgebras for crossed products induced by actions of Lie algebras on K[t].
If $A\otimes _{R, σ}V$ and $A\otimes _{P, ν}W$ are two Brzeziński crossed products and $Q:W\otimes V\rightarrow V\otimes W$ is a linear map satisfying certain properties, we construct a Brzeziński crossed product $A\otimes _{S, θ}(V\otimes W)$. This construction contains as a particular case the iterated twisted tensor product of algebras.
The relations between the radical of crossed product $R #_σH$ and algebra $R$ are obtained. Using this theory, the author shows that if $H$ is a finite-dimensional semisimple, cosemisimle, and either commutative or cocommutative Hopf algebra, then $R$ is $H$-semiprime iff $R$ is semiprime iff $R#_σH$ is semiprime.
We introduce the Hom-analogue of the L-R-smash product and use it to define the Hom-analogue of the diagonal crossed product. When H is a finite dimensional Hom-Hopf algebra with bijective antipode and bijective structure map, we define the Drinfeld double of H; its algebra structure is a Hom-diagonal crossed product and it has all expected properties, namely it is quasitriangular and modules over it coincide with left-right Yetter-Drinfeld modules over H.
We study some generalizations of the notion of regular crossed products K*G. For the case when K is an algebraically closed field, we give necessary and sufficient conditions for the twisted group ring K*G to be an n-weakly regular ring, a $ξ^* N$-ring or a ring without nilpotent elements.
In this note we extend duality theorems for crossed products obtained by M. Koppinen and C. Chen from the case of a base field or a Dedekind domain to the case of an arbitrary noetherian commutative ground ring under fairly weak conditions. In particular we extend an improved version of the celebrated Blattner-Montgomery duality theorem to the case of arbitrary noetherian ground rings.
We give a general construction of rings graded by the conjugacy classes of a finite group. Some examples of our construction are the Hochschild cohomology ring of a finite group algebra, the Grothendieck ring of the Drinfel'd double of a group, and the orbifold cohomology ring for a global quotient. We generalize the first two examples by deriving product formulas for the Hochschild cohomology ring of a group crossed product and for the Grothendieck ring of an abelian extension of Hopf algebras. Our results account for similarities in the product structures among these examples.
