A dynamical origin of the Yukawa couplings is a promising scenario to explain the flavour puzzle. The focus of this letter is set on the role of the neutrino Majorana character: when an $O(2)_{N_R}$ flavour symmetry acts on the right-handed neutrino sector, the minimum of the scalar potential allows for large mixing angles -in contrast to the simplest quark case- and predicts a maximal Majorana phase. This leads to a strong correlation between neutrino mass hierarchy and mixing pattern. Realistic solutions point to the existence of three heavy right-handed neutrinos.
In the so-called "Yukawaon" model, the (effective) Yukawa coupling constants $Y_f^{eff}$ are given by vacuum expectation values (VEVs) of scalars $Y_f$ (Yukawaons) with $3\times 3$ components. In this brief report, we change VEV forms $<Y_f>$ in the previous paper into a unified form. Therefore, parameter fitting for quark and lepton masses and mixings is revised. Especially, we obtain predicted values of neutrino mixing $\sin^2 2θ_{13}$ and a leptonic $CP$ violating phase $δ_{CP}^\ell$ which are consistent with the observed curve in the $(\sin^2 2θ_{13}, δ_{CP}^\ell)$ reported by T2K group re…
We study leptonic CKM mixing matrices when the neutrino Yukawa matrices are antisymmetric which gives rise to mass patterns suitable to explain solar, atmospheric and LSND neutrino oscillation experiments. Taking diagonal leptonic matrices which can give rise to hierarchical lepton masses, we compute the leptonic CKM matrix.
We explore discrimination of two types of leptonic Yukawa interactions associated with Higgs triplet, $\bar L^c_L ΔL_L$, and with $SU(2)$ singlet doubly charged scalar, $\bar e_R^c k^{++} e_R$. These interactions can be distinguished by measuring the effects of doubly charged scalar boson exchange in the $e^+ e^- \to \ell^+ ell^-$ processes at polarized electron-positron colliders. We study a forward-backward asymmetry of scattering angular distribution to estimate the sensitivity for these effects at the ILC. In addition, we investigate prospects of upper bounds on the Yukawa couplings by com…
We propose a flavour structure for the leptonic sector of the Standard Model, based on the idea of universality of Yukawa couplings, which accommodates all the experimental data on neutrino masses and mixing, at the same time predicting specific correlations between low energy measurable quantities, such as the ratio of neutrino squared mass differences, $|U_{13}|$, the leptonic Dirac phase, and the double-beta decay mass parameter. We also point out that it is possible, in this framework, to generate a sufficient amount of baryon asymmetry of the Universe through leptogenesis.
We take up the point of view that Yukawa couplings can be either 0 or 1, and the mass patterns of fermions are generated purely from the structure of the Yukawa matrices. We utilize such neutrino as well as charged leptonic textures which lead to (maximal) mixing angles of $π/4$ in each sector for relevant transitions. The combined leptonic CKM mixing angles are $π/4 \pm π/4$ which lead to very small $\sin^2 2 Θ$ relevant to solar neutrino and LSND experiments. We propose that on the other hand the absence of the charged leptonic partner of the sterile neutrino maintains the angle $π/4$ from t…
We show that a large class of sets of leptonic texture zeros considered in the literature imply the vanishing of certain CP-odd weak-basis invariants. These invariant conditions enable one to recognize a flavour model corresponding to a set of texture zeros, when written in an arbitrary weak-basis where the zeros are not manifest. We also analyse the r\^ ole of texture zeros in allowing for a connection between leptogenesis and low-energy leptonic masses, mixing and CP violation. For some of the textures the variables relevant for leptogenesis can be fully determined in terms of low energy par…
The clockwork is an extra-dimensional set-up for generating light particles with exponentially suppressed or hierarchical couplings of light particles with N massive states having comparable masses near the threshold scale of the mechanism in theories which contain no small parameters at the fundamental level. We explore the prospect of charged lepton flavour violation (cLFV) in a clockwork framework which encompasses Dirac mass terms as well as Majorana mass terms for the new clockwork fermions. We deive the masses of the non zero clockwork Majorana masses, and new particles in a clockwork fr…
We study the non-standard interactions of neutrinos with light leptonic scalars ($ϕ$) in a global $(B-L)$-conserved ultraviolet (UV)-complete model. The model utilizes Type-II seesaw motivated neutrino interactions with an $SU(2)_L$-triplet scalar, along with an additional singlet in the scalar sector. This UV-completion leads to an enriched spectrum and consequently new observable signatures. We examine the low-energy lepton flavor violation constraints, as well as the perturbativity and unitarity constraints on the model parameters. Then we lay out a search strategy for the unique signature …
We study leptonic CP and flavor violations in supersymmetric (SUSY) grand unified theory (GUT) with right handed neutrinos, paying attention to the renormalization group effects on the slepton mass matrices due to the neutrino and GUT Yukawa interactions. In particular, we study in detail the impacts of the so-called Casas- Ibarra parameters on CP and flavor violating observables. The renormalization group effects induce CP and flavor violating elements of the SUSY breaking scalar mass squared matrices, which may result in sizable leptonic CP and flavor violating signals. Assuming seesaw formu…
We present a method to find the number of real and imaginary observable parameters coming from the Yukawa sector in an arbitrary gauge theory. The method leads naturally to a classification of Yukawa couplings according to their symmetries and suggests a new parametrization of masses and mixings that is useful to study the behaviour of Yukawa couplings under the renormalization group. We apply it to some examples based on the Standard Model with Yukawa couplings obeying various chiral symmetries. We also show how our method of parameter counting can be used in some models with an enlarged lept…
We revisit the scalar singlet dark matter (DM) scenario with a pair of dark lepton partners which form a vectorlike Dirac fermionic doublet. The extra doublet couples with the Standard Model (SM) leptonic doublet and the scalar singlet via a non-SM-like Yukawa structure. As a result, (i) since the extra fermionic states interact with other dark sector particles as well as the SM via gauge and Yukawa interactions, it gives rise to new DM annihilation processes including pair annihilation as well as coannihilation channels, and (ii) such a Yukawa structure opens up new production channels for le…
We consider one-loop corrections to partial widths of the $Z$ induced by supersymmetric Yukawa interactions that violate $R$-parity. The precise experimental values of the leptonic $Z$ partial widths bound these Yukawa couplings, with the most interesting constraints being those on couplings involving the $τ$, since previous constraints on them were very mild.
We investigate, within the Type I seesaw framework, the physical implications of zero textures in the Yukawa couplings which generate the neutrino Dirac mass matrix $m_D$. It is shown that four is the maximal number of texture zeroes compatible with the observed leptonic mixing and the assumption that no neutrino mass vanishes. We classify all allowed four-zero textures of $m_D$ into two categories with three classes each. We show that the different classes, in general, admit CP violation both at low and high energies. We further present the constraints obtained for low energy physics in each …
We analyse, within the framework of universal strength for Yukawa couplings (USY), various structures for the Dirac and Majorana neutrino mass matrices giving rise, through the see-saw mechanism, to a degenerate mass spectrum. A specific USY ansatz is presented for the charged lepton and neutrino effective mass matrix, leading to quasi-degenerate neutrinos and a leptonic mixing matrix which provides a large angle solution for both the atmospheric and solar neutrino problems.
Aiming to relate leptonic CP violating phase $δ$ to the cosmological CP asymmetry, we study the extension of MSSM by two quasi-degenerate (strictly degenerate at tree level) right-handed neutrinos and consider all possible two texture zero 3x2 Yukawa matrices plus one $ΔL=2$ dimension five (d=5) operator contributing to the light neutrino mass matrix. We classify all experimentally viable mass matrices, leading to several predictions, and analytically derive predictive relations. We also relate the CP violating $δ$ phase to the CP phase of the thermal leptogenesis.
Leptonic CP violation is yet to be confirmed as an additional source of CP violation in fundamental interactions. We study the case where leptonic CP violation is spontaneous and is induced by the mixing with a heavy charged vector-like lepton (VLL). We show that the non-decoupling of this VLL is linked with the presence of CP violation and its coupling with the SM leptons are partly fixed from the SM Yukawas. Due to the large leptonic mixing angles, these couplings are typically of the same order and there is no flavor preference. Strong but not definitive constraints come from charged lepton…
We investigate the viability of thermal leptogenesis in type-I seesaw models with leptonic flavour symmetries that lead to tribimaximal neutrino mixing. We consider an effective theory with an A4 x Z3 x Z4 symmetry, which is spontaneously broken at a scale much higher than the electroweak scale. At the high scale, leptonic Yukawa interactions lead to exact tribimaximal mixing and the heavy Majorana neutrino mass spectrum is exactly degenerate. In this framework, leptogenesis becomes viable once this degeneracy is lifted either by renormalization group effects or by a soft breaking of the A4 sy…
We suggest a simple highly predictive ansatz for charged lepton and light neutrino mass matrices, based on the assumption of universality of Yukawa couplings. Using as input the charged lepton masses and light neutrino masses, the six parameters characterizing the leptonic mixing matrix $V_{PMNS}$, are predicted in terms of a single phase $ϕ$, which takes a value around $ϕ={\fracπ{2}}$. Correlations among variuos physical quantities are obtained, in particular $V^{PMNS}_{13}$ is predicted as a function of $Δm^2_{21}$, $Δm^2_{31}$ and $\sin^2(θ_{sol})$, and restricted to the range $0.167<|V^{PM…
We consider the effect of complex Higgs triplets on purely leptonic processes and survey the experimental constraints on the mass and couplings of their single and double charge members. Present day experiments tolerate values of the Yukawa couplings of these scalars at the level of the standard electroweak gauge couplings. We show that the proposed measurement of the ratio $R_{LCD}=σ(ν_μe)/ [σ(\bbν_μe) + σ(ν_e e )]$ would allow to explore a large region of the parameter space inaccessible to the usual ratio $R=σ(ν_μe)/σ(\bbν_μe)$.
General neutrino-scalar couplings appear in many extensions of Standard Model. We can probe these neutrino-scalar couplings by leptonic decay of mesons and from heavy neutrino search. Our analysis improves the present limits to $|g_e|^2<1.9\times 10^{-6}$ and $|g_μ|^2<1.9\times 10^{-7}$ at 90\% C.L. for massless scalars. For massive scalars we found for the first time the constraints for $g^2_α$ couplings to be $10^{-6}-10^{-1}$ respectively for scalar masses between below 1 MeV and for 300 MeV.
Minimal Flavour Violation can be realized in several ways in the lepton sector due to the possibility of Majorana neutrino mass terms. We derive the scalar potential for the fields whose background values are the Yukawa couplings, for the simplest See-Saw model with just two right-handed neutrinos, and explore its minima. The Majorana character plays a distinctive role: the minimum of the potential allows for large mixing angles -in contrast to the simplest quark case- and predicts a maximal Majorana phase. This points in turn to a strong correlation between neutrino mass hierarchy and mixing …
We discuss the leptonic flavor structure generated by a brane shifted extra dimensional seesaw model with a single right handed neutrino in the bulk. In contrast to previous works, no unitarity approximation for the $3 \times 3$ submatrix has been employed. This allows to study phenomenological signatures such as lepton flavor violating decays. A strong prediction of the model, assuming CP conservation, are the ratios of flavor violating charged lepton decay and Z decay branching ratios which are correlated with the neutrino mixing angles and the neutrino mass hierarchy. Furthermore, it is pos…
The vertex corrections to the leptonic partial widths of the $Z$ induced by leptoquarks that couple leptons to the top quark are considered. We obtain stringent bounds on the parameter space of the masses and Yukawa couplings of these leptoquarks, using the latest information on the $Z \rightarrow l^+l^-$ decay widths measured at LEP. Leptoquarks coupling with electroweak strength to top quarks are constrained to be heavier than several hundred GeV, at 95$\%$ C.L. As a consequence, such leptoquarks cannot make a significant contribution to lepton asymmetries, $τ$ polarisation asymmetries or $A…
For a RS model, with SM fields in the bulk and the Higgs boson on the TeV-brane, we suggest two specific structures for the Yukawa couplings, one based on a permutation symmetry and the other on the Universal Strength of Yukawa couplings hypothesis (USY). In USY, all Yukawa couplings have equal strength and the difference in the Yukawa structure lies in some complex phase. In both scenarios, all Yukawa couplings are of the same order of magnitude. Thus, the main features of the fermion hierarchies are explained through the RS geometrical mechanism, and not because some Yukawa coupling is extre…
We explore the possibility that the semi-leptonic $B$ decay ratios $R_{K^{(*)}}$ which violate $μ- e$ universality are related to the origin of the fermion Yukawa couplings in the Standard Model. Some time ago, a vector-like fourth family (without a $Z'$) was used to generate fermion mass hierarchies and mixing patterns without introducing any family symmetry. Recently the idea of inducing flavourful $Z'$ couplings via mixing with a vector-like fourth family which carries gauged $U(1)'$ charges has been proposed as a simple way of producing controlled flavour universality violation while elega…
We study the influence of messenger Yukawa couplings and top, bottom and $τ$ Yukawa couplings on the proton lifetime in SU(5) Supersymmetric GUT with dynamical supersymmetry breaking mechanism due to Dine and Nelson.
We study displaced signatures of sneutrino pairs potentially emerging at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) in a Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model supplemented with right-handed neutrinos triggering a Type-I seesaw mechanism. We show how such signatures can be established through a heavy Higgs portal in the presence of both leptonic and hadronic decays of the sneutrinos. We finally illustrate how the Yukawa parameters of the latter can be extracted from fitting kinematical quantities pertaining to the corresponding two displaced vertices, thereby characterising the dynamics of the und…
In this paper we present a phenomenological analysis of the Partially Aligned Two Higgs Doublet Model (PA-2HDM) by using leptonic decays of mesons and $B^0_{d,s}$-$\bar B^0_{d,s}$ mixing. We focus our attention in a scenario where the leading contribution to FCNC is given by the tree level interaction with the light pseudoscalar $A^0$ ($M_{A^0}\sim 250$ GeV). We show how an underlying flavor symmetry controls FCNC in the quark and lepton couplings with the pseudoscalar, without alignment between Yukawa matrices. Upper bounds on the free parameters are calculated in the context of the leptonic …
We investigate the TeV models for neutrino mass generation as candidate models to explain the recent 2$σ$ excess of leptonic $W^{+}W^{-}$ pair production at LHC. Several models with singly charged exotic states that may explain the excess require light masses completely excluded by LEP experiments. One possible model with new lepton doublets can fit the observation and evade all direct search bounds but with tuned Yukawa structure to satisfy lepton universality. The new exotic leptons $L^{\pm}$ decay into $L^{\pm}\to \ell^{\pm} ϕ$ where $ϕ$ is a light singlet scalar of $\cal O$(MeV) that decay…
By solving the gap equation in the quenched, ladder approximation for an Abelian gauge model with Yukawa interaction in the presence of a constant magnetic field, we show that the Yukawa interactions enhance the dynamical generation of fermion mass. The theory is then studied at finite temperature, where we prove that the critical magnetic field, required for the mass generation to be important at temperatures comparable to the electroweak critical temperature, can be substantially decreased due to the Yukawa coupling.
We calculate the dynamical relativistic corrections, originating from radiative one-gluon-exchange, to the leptonic decay width of heavy quarkonia in the framework of a covariant formulation of Light-Front Dynamics. Comparison with the non-relativistic calculations of the leptonic decay width of J=1 charmonium and bottomonium S-ground states shows that relativistic corrections are large. Most importantly, the calculation of these dynamical relativistic corrections legitimate a perturbative expansion in $α_s$, even in the charmonium sector. This is in contrast with the ongoing belief based on c…
We study flavor violating processes in the production or decay of a neutral pseudoscalar meson $P^0$ in the framework of a general two Higgs Doublet Model type III (2HDM-III). We use a version of the model where Yukawa interactions of neutral Higgs bosons allow for flavor change at the tree-level, but conserves CP symmetry. We focus on all possible $τ^{\pm} \to l^{\pm}P^0 $ and $P^0 \to l^+l'^-$ decay channels, where $l,l'$ are charged leptons. We find that these processes provide complementary information on quark and lepton FCNC Yukawa couplings. In particular flavor violating parameters in …
In the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model with the inverse seesaw mechanism to generate neutrino masses, the lightest sneutrino may act as a feasible dark matter candidate in vast parameter space. In this case, the smallness of the leptonic unitarity violation and the recent XENON-1T experiment can limit the dark matter physics. In particular, they set upper bounds of the neutrino Yukawa couplings $λ_ν$ and $Y_ν$. We study such effects by encoding the constraints in a likelihood function and carrying out elaborated scans over the parameter space of the theory with the Nested Samplin…
We present a freeze-in realization of the Dirac neutrinogenesis in which the decaying particle that generates the lepton-number asymmetry is in thermal equilibrium. As the right-handed Dirac neutrinos are produced non-thermally, the lepton-number asymmetry is accumulated and partially converted to the baryon-number asymmetry via the rapid sphaleron transitions. The necessary CP-violating condition can be fulfilled by a purely thermal kinetic phase from the wavefunction correction in the lepton-doublet sector, which has been neglected in most leptogenesis-based setup. Furthermore, this conditio…
That $μ\to e, γ$ and $τ\to μ,γ$ are sensitive probes of SUSY models with a see-saw mechanism is a well accepted fact. Here we propose a `top-down' approach in a general SUSY SO(10) scheme. In this framework, we show that at least one of the neutrino Yukawa couplings is as large as the top Yukawa coupling. This leads to a strong enhancement of these leptonic flavour changing decay rates. We examine two `extreme' cases, where the lepton mixing angles in the neutrino Yukawa couplings are either small (CKM-like) or large (PMNS-like). In these two cases, we quantify the sensitivity of leptonic radi…
The strength of the dynamically generated Yukawa coupling among composite fields is calculated. The system of N=1 supersymmetric SU(2) gauge theory with massive three flavors is considered as an example. We use the techniques of "integrating in" the gluino-gluino bound state in the low energy effective theory and the instanton calculation and Shifman-Vainshtein-Zakharov sum rule (QCD sum rule) in the fundamental theory. The obtained value of the Yukawa coupling is of the order of unity. The method which is developed in this paper can be applied to the other supersymmetric gauge theories.
Determination of the top-quark Yukawa couplings in the process e+ e- -> t \bar{t} Z has been studied for the high luminosity option (\int L=500\fbinver) of a linear e+e- collider. Polarization of the electron beam has been considered. The method of optimal observables has been adopted to determine the couplings and to disentangle different models. It has been found that it could be possible to discriminate between the Standard Model scalar Higgs boson, pure pseudoscalar and the Higgs boson of mixed CP at about 12 σlevel for \sqrt{s}=1.TeV for the Higgs boson close to the production threshold b…
The matter content of the Standard Model admits a global symmetry due to the generational structure of the spectrum respected by all interactions except for fermion couplings to the Higgs doublet. This symmetry is identified as the largest possible global symmetry of the free theory and extended to the case of massive neutrinos. The violation of such symmetry is then assumed dynamical and the value of the Yukawa couplings is fixed by a variational principle. This ansatz yields compelling results: Quark Yukawas naturally accommodate hierarchical masses and small mixing whereas Lepton Yukawas ex…
We study the linking between the CP violating phase of the lepton sectors and the unitarity triangle of the B0 meson system. Antusch, King, Malinsky and Spinrath have shown that the quark mass matrices with the negligible 1-3 mixing give an interesting relation between the phase of the quark mixing matrices and CP violating measure phi_2(alpha). This approach is extended by considering the SO(10) GUT including the Pati-Salam symmetry, which links the Yukawa matrices of the quark sector to the one of the lepton sector. We discuss the relation of the CP violating phases between both quark and le…
We consider the leptonic and semileptonic (SL) lepton flavour violating (LFV) decays of the charged leptons in the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM). The formalism for evaluation of branching fractions for the SL LFV charged-lepton decays with one or two pseudoscalar mesons, or one vector meson in the final state, is given. Previous amplitudes for the SL LFV charged-lepton decays in MSSM are improved, for instance the $γ$-penguin amplitude is corrected to assure the gauge invariance. The decays are studied not only in the model-independent formulation of the theory in the frame of M…
We study a model with two Higgs doublets where FCNC are allowed at tree-level. In this model, the interactions of charged Higgs with fermions ($H^\pm f \bar{f'}$), include a term that is not proportional to the fermion masses, which we constraint using the following low-energy processes: i) tau decays ($τ\to ν_τ eν_e, ν_τμν_μ, ν_τπ$), ii) leptonic decays of pseudoscalar mesons ($π, K \to \ellν_{\ell}$) and iii) semileptonic b-decays. With these constraints it is possible to make predictions; we illustrate this by presenting the rates for the (FCNC) decay $c\to u+γ$, the (second class-current) …
In this short review, we see some typical models in which light neutrino masses are generated at the loop level. These models involve new Higgs bosons whose Yukawa interactions with leptons are constrained by the neutrino oscillation data. Predictions about flavor structures of $\ell \to \overline{\ell}_1 \ell_2 \ell_3$ and leptonic decays of new Higgs bosons via the constrained Yukawa interactions are briefly summarized in order to utilize such Higgs as a probe of $ν$ physics.
If tan(beta) is large, down-type quark mass matrices and Yukawa couplings cannot be simultaneously diagonalized, and flavour violating couplings of the neutral Higgs bosons are induced at the 1-loop level. These couplings lead to Higgs-mediated contributions to the decays B_s -> mu+ mu- and B_d -> tau+ tau-, at a level that might be of interest for the current Tevatron run, or possibly, at B-factories. We evaluate the branching ratios for these decays within the framework of minimal gravity-, gauge- and anomaly-mediated SUSY breaking models, and also in SU(5) supergravity models with non-unive…
We consider a model with global Abelian chiral symmetry of two massless fermion fields interacting with a complex massive scalar field. We argue that the Schwinger-Dyson equations for the fermion and boson propagators admit ultraviolet-finite chiral-symmetry-breaking solutions provided the Yukawa couplings are large enough. The fermions acquire masses and the elementary excitations of the complex scalar field are the two real spin-zero particles with different masses. As a necessary consequence of the dynamical chiral symmetry breakdown both in the fermion and scalar sectors, one massless pseu…
We study realization of the democratic form of Yukawa matrices by infrared fixed points. We investigate renormalization-group flows of Yukawa couplings in models with a single Yukawa matrix for three families, and up and down-sector Yukawa matrices. It is found that each model has its certain pattern of renormalization-group flows of Yukawa matrices. We apply them to the charged lepton sector and quark sector, and show that realistic results for the second and third families are obtained with natural initial conditions, e.g. $(V_{MNS})_{23} \sim 2/\sqrt{6}$, $m_s/m_b \sim V_{cb} \sim m_μ/m_τ$ …
Can the cosmological dynamics responsible for settling down the present values of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix be related to electroweak symmetry breaking? If the Standard Model Yukawa couplings varied in the early universe and started with order one values before electroweak symmetry breaking, the CP violation associated with the CKM matrix could be the origin of the matter-antimatter asymmetry. The large effective Yukawa couplings which lead to the enhanced CP violation can also help in achieving a strong first-order electroweak phase transition. We study in detail the feasibility of…
We study consequences of CP violation in the $ht\bar{t}$ Yukawa coupling through the process $e^+e^- \to$ $h(125)t\bar{t}$. The helicity amplitudes are calculated in the $t\bar{t}$ rest frame, where the initial $e^+e^-$ current and the final Higgs boson have the same three-momentum. CP-violating asymmetries appear not only in the azimuthal angle between the $e^+e^-$ plane and the $t\bar{t}$ plane about the Higgs momentum direction, but also in the correlated decay angular distributions of $t$ and $\bar{t}$. Complete description of the production and decay angular distributions are obtained ana…
We present a new mechanism for electroweak symmetry breaking (EWSB) based on a strong Yukawa dynamics. We consider an SU(2)_L x U(1)_Y gauge invariant model endowed with the usual Standard model fermion multiplets and with two massive scalar doublets. We show that, unlike in the Standard model, EWSB is possible even with vanishing vacuum expectation values of the scalars. Such EWSB is achieved dynamically by means of the (presumably strong) Yukawa couplings and manifests itself by the emergence of fermion and gauge boson masses and scalar mass-splittings, which are expressed in a closed form i…
The basic features of quark and lepton mass matrices can be successfully explained by natural minima of a generic potential with dynamical Yukawa fields invariant under the $[\mathrm{SU(3)}]^5\times \mathcal{O}(3)$ flavor symmetry. If this symmetry is gauged, in order to avoid potentially dangerous Goldstone bosons, and small perturbations are added to exactly fit the observed pattern of fermion masses, the spectrum of massive flavor gauge bosons can naturally explain the hints for new physics in $b\to s \ell^+\ell^-$ transitions, including $R_K$. In particular, the desired pattern of the Stan…
We study a supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model based on discrete A4xZ3xZ4 flavor symmetry. We obtain quark mixing angles as well as a realistic fermion mass spectrum and we predict tribimaximal leptonic mixing by a spontaneous breaking of A4. The top quark Yukawa interaction is present at the renormalizable level in the superpotential while all the other Yukawa interactions arise only at higher orders. We study the Higgs potential and show that it can potentially solve the so called vacuum alignment problem. The leading order predictions are not spoiled by subleading corrections.
We consider a model with anomaly-free Abelian gauge axial-vector symmetry, which is intended to mimic the standard electroweak gauge chiral SU(2)_L x U(1)_Y theory. Within this model we demonstrate: (1) Strong Yukawa interactions between massless fermion fields and a massive scalar field carrying the axial charge generate dynamically the fermion and boson proper self-energies, which are ultraviolet-finite and chirally noninvariant. (2) Solutions of the underlying Schwinger-Dyson equations found numerically exhibit a huge amplification of the fermion mass ratios as a response to mild changes of…
In Type III seesaw model the heavy neutrinos are contained in leptonic triplet representations. The Yukawa couplings of the triplet fermion and the left-handed neutrinos with the doublet Higgs field produce the Dirac mass terms. Together with the Majorana masses for the leptonic triplets, the light neutrinos obtain non-zero seesaw masses. We point out that it is also possible to have a quadruplet Higgs field to produce the Dirac mass terms to facilitate the seesaw mechanism. The vacuum expectation value of the quadruplet Higgs is constrained to be small by electroweak precision data. Therefore…
