We present a new mechanism for electroweak symmetry breaking (EWSB) based on a strong Yukawa dynamics. We consider an SU(2)_L x U(1)_Y gauge invariant model endowed with the usual Standard model fermion multiplets and with two massive scalar doublets. We show that, unlike in the Standard model, EWSB is possible even with vanishing vacuum expectation values of the scalars. Such EWSB is achieved dynamically by means of the (presumably strong) Yukawa couplings and manifests itself by the emergence of fermion and gauge boson masses and scalar mass-splittings, which are expressed in a closed form in terms of the fermion and scalar proper self-energies. The `would-be' Nambu--Goldstone bosons are shown to be composites of both the fermions and the scalars. We demonstrate that the simplest version of the model is compatible with basic experimental constraints.
We revisited the scenario of electroweak baryogenesis in the presence of large Yukawa couplings, in which it was found previously that a strongly first order electroweak phase transition can occur with the Higgs mass at its observed value of 125 GeV. Given the sensitivity of the running of the Higgs quartic coupling on the Yukawa coupling constants, we find that the addition of order one Yukawa couplings beyond the top quark drastically lowers the scale at which the Higgs potential becomes unstable. Specifically, even with only one additional order one Yukawa coupling, the scalar potential bec…
We consider the electroweak radiative corrections in the MSSM and study the purely Yukawa contributions ${\cal O}(α^L y_t^{2p} y_b^{2q})$, $p+q=L$, where $y_{t,b}$ are the top and bottom quark Yukawa couplings. We show that these corrections can be computed in a gaugeless limit of the MSSM where they are under Renormalization Group control. As an application, we present explicit results for various ILC and LHC processes valid at all orders in the loop expansion and at leading order in the large logarithms that arise at high energy.
We study electroweak baryogenesis driven by the top quark in a general two Higgs doublet model with flavor-changing Yukawa couplings, keeping the Higgs potential $CP$ invariant. With Higgs sector couplings and the additional top Yukawa coupling $ρ_{tt}$ all of $\mathcal{O}$(1), one naturally has sizable $CP$ violation that fuels the cosmic baryon asymmetry. Even if $ρ_{tt}$ vanishes, the favor-changing coupling $ρ_{tc}$ can still lead to successful baryogenesis. Phenomenological consequences such as $t\to ch$, $τ\to μγ$, electron electric dipole moment, $h\toγγ$, and $hhh$ coupling are discuss…
We show that the dynamics responsible for the variation of the Yukawa couplings of the Standard Model fermions generically leads to a very strong first-order electroweak phase transition, assuming that the Yukawa couplings are large and of order 1 before the electroweak phase transition and reach their present value afterwards. There are good motivations to consider that the flavour structure could emerge during electroweak symmetry breaking, for example if the Froggatt-Nielsen field dynamics were linked to the Higgs field. In this paper, we do not need to assume any particular theory of flavo…
The origin of the matter-antimatter asymmetry in the Universe is a fundamental question of physics. Electroweak baryogenesis is a compelling scenario for explaining it but it requires beyond the Standard Model sources of the CP symmetry violation. The simplest possibility is CP violation in the third generation fermion Higgs couplings, widely investigated theoretically and searched for experimentally. It has been found that the experimental bounds on the CP violation in the quark Yukawa couplings exclude their significant role in the electroweak baryogenesis, but it can be still played by the …
We analyze the quantum transport equations for supersymmetric electroweak baryogenesis including previously neglected bottom and tau Yukawa interactions and show that they imply the presence of a previously unrecognized dependence of the cosmic baryon asymmetry on the spectrum of third generation quark and lepton superpartners. For fixed values of the CP-violating phases in the supersymmetric theory, the baryon asymmetry can vary in both magnitude and sign as a result of the squark and slepton mass dependence. For light, right-handed top and bottom quark superpartners, the baryon number creati…
Baryogenesis at the electroweak scale depends on divers but identifiable details of bubble wall dynamics and the particle physics. We show that inclusion of the dynamics of relative phase in two-Higgs-doublet model (2HDM) enhances the adiabatic order of the mechanism proposed by McLerran-Shaposhnikov-Turok-Voloshin where the scalar-scalar-vector triangle diagram with top quark in the loop gives rise to a significant contribution to the effective chemical potential biasing the Chern-Simons number. We also show that in 2HDM with less stringent constraints on Yukawa couplings than those imposed b…
We study the relationship between the $\overline{\mathrm{MS}}$ Yukawa coupling and the pole mass for the bottom and top quarks at the two-loop electroweak order ${\cal O}(α^2)$ in the gaugeless limit of the standard model. We also consider the $\overline{\mathrm{MS}}$ to pole mass relationships at this order, which include tadpole contributions to ensure the gauge independence of the $\overline{\mathrm{MS}}$ masses. In order to suppress numerically large tadpole contributions, we propose a redefinition of the running heavy-quark mass in terms of the $\overline{\mathrm{MS}}$ Yukawa coupling. We…
We derive the contributions to the quantum transport equations for electroweak baryogenesis due to decays and inverse decays induced by tri-scalar and Yukawa interactions. In the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM), these contributions give rise to couplings between Higgs and fermion supermultiplet densities, thereby communicating the effects of CP-violation in the Higgs sector to the baryon sector. We show that the decay and inverse decay-induced contributions that arise at zeroth order in the strong coupling, α_s, can be substantially larger than the O(α_s) terms that are generated …
The cosmological evolution of standard model Yukawa couplings may have major implications for baryogenesis. In particular, as highlighted recently, the CKM matrix alone could be the source of CP-violation during electroweak baryogenesis provided that the Yukawa couplings were large and varied during the electroweak phase transition. We provide a natural realisation of this idea in the context of Randall-Sundrum models and show that the geometrical warped approach to the fermion mass hierarchy may naturally display the desired cosmological dynamics. The key ingredient is the coupling of the Gol…
The condition of unification of gauge couplings in the minimal supersymmetric standard model provides successful predictions for the weak mixing angle as a function of the strong gauge coupling and the supersymmetric threshold scale. In addition, in some scenarios, e.g.\ in the minimal SO(10) model, the tau lepton and the bottom and top quark Yukawa couplings unify at the grand unification scale. The condition of Yukawa unification leads naturally to large values of $\tanβ$, implying a proper top quark--bottom quark mass hierarchy. In this work, we investigate the feasibility of unification of…
The dominant electroweak two-loop corrections to the precision observables M_W and s_w^eff are calculated in the MSSM. They are obtained by evaluating the two-loop Yukawa contributions of O(alpha_t^2), O(alpha_t alpha_b), O(alpha_b^2) to the quantity Delta rho. The result, involving the contributions from Standard Model fermions, sfermions, Higgs bosons and higgsinos, is derived in the gauge-less limit for arbitrary values of the lightest CP-even Higgs boson mass. A thorough discussion of the parameter relations enforced by supersymmetry is given, and two different renormalization schemes are …
Can the cosmological dynamics responsible for settling down the present values of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix be related to electroweak symmetry breaking? If the Standard Model Yukawa couplings varied in the early universe and started with order one values before electroweak symmetry breaking, the CP violation associated with the CKM matrix could be the origin of the matter-antimatter asymmetry. The large effective Yukawa couplings which lead to the enhanced CP violation can also help in achieving a strong first-order electroweak phase transition. We study in detail the feasibility of…
We study the influence of messenger Yukawa couplings and top, bottom and $τ$ Yukawa couplings on the proton lifetime in SU(5) Supersymmetric GUT with dynamical supersymmetry breaking mechanism due to Dine and Nelson.
We calculate the one-loop contributions to the MSSM effective potential when the scalar top fields have non-zero vacuum expectation values and study their impact on charge and colour breaking bounds.
Yukawa couplings of electroweak Goldstone bosons can be inferred from experiment, but the existence of an elementary Higgs boson is not yet an established fact. If a sequential chiral quark generation does exist, it would bring us now into the strong Yukawa coupling regime. Guided by a Bethe--Salpeter equation approach, we postulate that the leading collapse state, the (heavy) isotriplet and color-singlet $π_1$ meson, becomes the Goldstone boson $G$ itself. Viewing it as a deeply bound state, a gap equation is constructed. This "`bootstrap" picture for electroweak symmetry breaking relies on s…
We investigate the impact of the tau and bottom Yukawa couplings on the transport dynamics for electroweak baryogenesis in supersymmetric extensions of the Standard Model. Although it has generally been assumed in the literature that all Yukawa interactions except those involving the top quark are negligible, we find that the tau and bottom Yukawa interaction rates are too fast to be neglected. We identify an illustrative "lepton-mediated electroweak baryogenesis" scenario in which the baryon asymmetry is induced mainly through the presence of a left-handed leptonic charge. We derive analytic …
Yukawa-like R-parity violating (RPV) couplings are generated as effective operators with a typical strength of ${\cal O}(10^{-3})$ through loops involving the scalars, the gauginos and the soft supersymmetry breaking RPV interactions. Neutrino masses and other phenomenological implications of such a scenario are discussed.
Nonstandard CP violation in the Higgs sector can play an essential role in electroweak baryogenesis. We calculate the full two-loop matching conditions of the standard model, with Higgs Yukawa couplings to light quarks modified to include arbitrary CP-violating phases, onto an effective Lagrangian comprising CP-odd electric and chromoelectric light-quark (up, down, and strange) dipole operators. We find large isospin-breaking contributions of the electroweak diagrams. Using these results, we obtain significant constraints on the phases of the light-quark Yukawas from experimental bounds on the…
We analyze the stability of the electroweak vacuum in neutrino mass models containing right handed neutrinos or fermionic isotriplets. In addition to considering absolute stability, we place limits on the Yukawa couplings of new fermions based on metastability and thermal stability in the early Universe. Our results reveal that the upper limits on the neutrino Yukawa couplings can change significantly when the top quark mass is allowed to vary within the experimental range of uncertainty in its determination.
We explore the electroweak vacuum stability in the framework of a recently proposed paradigm for the origin of Yukawa couplings. These arise as low energy effective couplings radiatively generated by portal interactions with a hidden, or dark, sector at the one-loop level. Possible tree-level Yukawa couplings are forbidden by a new underlying symmetry, assumed to be spontaneously broken by the vacuum expectation value of a new scalar field above the electroweak scale. As a consequence, the top Yukawa interaction ceases to behave as a local operator at energies above the new sector scale and, t…
About 3 sigma deviation from the standard model prediction of muon anomalous magnetic moment (muon g-2) has been reported. We consider new physics beyond the standard model which has new Yukawa interactions with muon. We compute new contributions to muon g-2 and corrections to electroweak observables, and show the consistent region of parameter space. We find that in a simple model where the chirality flip of muon occurs only in the external muon line in one-loop muon g-2 diagrams, it is necessary to introduce the relatively large new Yukawa coupling and the electroweak scale new particles. On…
We present a detailed analysis of how a mixed-anomaly-free U(1) symmetry can be used to both resolve the slepton mass problem associated with Anomaly Mediated Supersymmetry Breaking and generate the fermion mass hierarchy via the Froggatt-Nielsen mechanism. Flavour changing neutral currents problems are evaded by a specific form of the Yukawa textures.
We make a complete analysis of the Yukawa coupling unification in SU(5) extensions of the MSSM in the framework of the radiative symmetry breaking scenario. Both logarithmic and finite threshold corrections of sparticles have been included in the determination of the gauge and Yukawa couplings at M_Z. The effect of the heavy masses of each model in the renormalization group equations is also included. We find that in the minimal SU(5) model b-tau Yukawa unification can be achieved for too large a value of alpha_s. On the other hand the Peccei-Quinn version of the Missing Doublet model, with th…
Electroweak Baryogenesis, given a first order phase transition, does not work in the standard model because the quark Yukawa matrices are too hierarchical. On the other hand, the neutrino mass matrix is apparently not hierarchical. In models with neutrino mass generation at low scales, the neutrino Yukawa couplings lead to large CP-violation in the reflection probability of heavy leptons by the expanding Higgs bubble wall, and can generate the observed baryon asymmetry of the universe. The mechanism predicts new vector-like leptons below the TeV scale and sizable mu -> e processes.
Extra vector-like matter with both electroweak-singlet masses and large Yukawa couplings can significantly raise the lightest Higgs boson mass in supersymmetry through radiative corrections. I consider models of this type that involve a large Yukawa coupling between weak isotriplet and isodoublet chiral supermultiplets. The particle content can be completed to provide perturbative gauge coupling unification, in several different ways. The impact on precision electroweak observables is shown to be acceptably small, even if the new particles are as light as the current experimental bounds of ord…
We present a comparative study of radiative electroweak symmetry breaking and conventional standard model breaking, and pose the question whether experiments can distinguish one breaking mode from the other. The importance of the problem lies in the fact that the two breaking modes have very different physical interpretations concerning the mechanism of spontaneous electroweak symmetry breaking and the origin of mass.
It has been recently shown that the electroweak baryogenesis mechanism is feasible in Standard Model extensions containing extra fermions with large Yukawa couplings. We show here that the lightest of these fermionic fields can naturally be a good candidate for cold dark matter. We find regions in the parameter space where the thermal relic abundance of this particle is compatible with the dark matter density of the Universe as determined by the WMAP experiment. We study direct and indirect dark matter detection for this model and compare with current experimental limits and prospects for upco…
We review the possibilities that the Kaluza-Klein excitations of graviton states induce electroweak symmetry breaking and that electroweak symmetry breaking could have a large impact on KK phenomenology.
The radiative electroweak symmetry breaking, the unification of third-generation Yukawa couplings, and flavor-changing rare decay are investigated in two types of supersymmetric SO(10) scenarios taking into account of the effects of neutrino physics, i.e. the observed large generation mixing and tiny mass scale. The first scenario is minimal, including right-handed neutrinos at intermediate scale with the unification of third-generation Yukawa couplings. Another is the case that the large mixing of atmospheric neutrinos originates from the charged-lepton sector. Under the SO(10)-motivated boun…
We explore, in the MSSM context, an extension of the Anomaly Mediated Supersymmetry Breaking solution for the soft scalar masses that is possible if the underlying theory has a gauged R-symmetry. The slepton mass problem characteristic of the scenario is resolved, and a context for the explanation of the fermion mass hierarchy provided.
Single and double universal seesaw mechanisms and the hypothesis of universal strength for Yukawa couplings are applied to formulate a unified theory of fermion mass spectrum in a model based on an extended Pati-Salam symmetry. Five kinds of Higgs fields are postulated to mediate scalar interactions among electroweak doublets of light fermions and electroweak singlets of heavy exotic fermions with relative Yukawa coupling constants of exponential form. At the first-order seesaw approximation, quasi-democratic mass matrices with equal diagonal elements are derived for all charged fermion sector…
We study Yukawa unification, including the effects of a physical neutrino mass consistent with the Superkamiokande observations, in a string/$D$-brane inspired Pati-Salam model which allows the most general non-universal scalar and gaugino masses, including the usual $D$-term contributions which arise in SO(10). We investigate how the tight constraints from rare decays such as $b \to s γ$ and $τ\to μγ$ can provide information about the family dependent supersymmetry breaking soft Lagrangian, for example the trilinears associated with the second and third family. Many of our results also apply …
Higgs production from gluon fusion is sensitive to the properties of heavy colored fermions and to the Yukawa couplings, (Y_F M_F)/v, of these particles to the Higgs boson. We compute the two--loop, ${\cal O}((Y_F M_F)^3/v^3)$ contributions of new high mass fermions to Higgs production. In the Standard Model, these contributions are part of the well-known electroweak corrections and are negligible. However, in models with TeV scale fermions, such as top partner or composite models, Yukawa corrections are enhanced by effects of ${\cal O}((Y_F M_F)^3/v^3)$ and are potentially significant due to …
We show that the CKM matrix can be the source of CP violation for electroweak baryogenesis if Yukawa couplings vary at the same time as the Higgs acquires its vacuum expectation value. This offers new avenues for explaining the baryon asymmetry of the universe. These ideas apply if the mechanism explaining the flavour structure of the Standard Model is connected to electroweak symmetry breaking. We compute the resulting baryon asymmetry for various low-scale flavour models and different configurations of the Yukawa coupling variation across the bubble wall, and show that it can naturally be of…
The presence of right-handed neutrinos in the type I seesaw mechanism may lead to significant corrections to the RG evolution of the Higgs self-coupling. Compared to the Standard Model case, the Higgs mass window can become narrower, and the cutoff scale become lower. Naively, these effects decrease with decreasing right-handed neutrino mass. However, we point out that the unknown Dirac Yukawa matrix may impact the vacuum stability constraints even in the low scale seesaw case not far away from the electroweak scale, hence much below the canonical seesaw scale of 10^15 GeV. This includes situa…
We investigate if the CP violation necessary for successful electroweak baryogenesis may be sourced by the neutrino Yukawa couplings. In particular, we consider an electroweak scale Seesaw realisation with sizeable Yukawas where the new neutrino singlets form (pseudo)-Dirac pairs. We find that flavour effects critically impact the final asymmetry obtained and that, taking them into account, the observed value may be obtained in some regions of the parameter space. This source of CP violation naturally avoids the strong constraints from electric dipole moments and links the origin of the baryon…
Within the type-I seesaw and in the basis where charged lepton and heavy neutrino mass matrices are real and diagonal, $μτ$ symmetric four and three zero neutrino Yukawa textures are perturbed by lowest order $μτ$ symmetry breaking terms. These perturbations are taken to be the {\it most general ones for those textures}. For quite small values of those symmetry breaking parameters, permitting a lowest order analysis, current best-fit ranges of neutrino mass squared differences and mixing angles are shown to be accommodable, including a value of $θ_{13}$ in the observed range, provided all the …
We consider a scenario in which an extra bottom Yukawa coupling can drive electroweak baryogenesis in the general two-Higgs doublet model. It is found that the new bottom Yukawa coupling with $\mathcal{O}(0.1)$ in magnitude can generate the sufficient baryon asymmetry without conflicting existing data. We point out that future measurements of the bottom Yukawa coupling at High-Luminosity Large Hadron Collider and International Linear Collider, together with the CP asymmetry of $B\to X_sγ$ at SuperKEKB provide exquisite probes for this scenario.
The observed hierarchy of quark and lepton masses and mixings may be obtained by adding an abelian family symmetry to the Minimal Supersymmetric Model and coupling quarks and leptons to an electroweak singlet scalar field. In a large class of such models, this symmetry suffers from anomalies which must be compensated by the Green-Schwarz mechanism; this in turn fixes the electroweak mixing angle to be $\sin^2 θ_W = 3/8$ at the string scale, without any assumed GUT structure. The analysis is extended to two distinct generalisations of the Standard Model: neutrino masses and mixings and R-parity…
A $SU(3)_Q \times SU(3)_u \times SU(3)_d$ invariant scalar potential breaking spontaneously the quark flavour symmetry can explain the standard model flavour puzzle. The approximate alignment in flavour space of the vacuum expectation values of the up and down `Yukawa fields' results as a dynamical effect. The observed quark mixing angles, the weak CP violating phase, and hierarchical quark masses can be all reproduced at the cost of introducing additional (auxiliary) scalar multiplets, but without the need of introducing hierarchical parameters.
We introduce the idea of bosonic see-saw mechanism in analogy with the see-saw mechanism. Bosonic see-saw is a new symmetry breaking mechanism and we apply it to explain electroweak symmetry breaking as an inevitable consequence of supersymmetry breaking. The breaking of electroweak symmetry occurs at tree level once supersymmetry is broken. Absence of color/charge breaking in this model is related to doublet-triplet splitting in grand unified theory. An extension of MSSM with a weak triplet shows very interesting results especially when mu =0. It provides the most natural understanding of why…
Heavy squark decays into top and charginos or neutralinos could be an unexpected source of top quarks at hadron colliders. A detailed treatment of these processes is necessary for a reliable calculation of both the top quark production cross-section and the standard top quark branching ratio in the MSSM. Along this line we compute the electroweak corrections to the sbottom decays sbottom_a --> chargino_i top within the Yukawa coupling approximation. The calculation of these higher order contributions requires renormalization of both the bottom squark mixing angle and of tan(beta). This type of…
The problem of electroweak symmetry breaking is reviewed with discussion of future relevant experimentation at LHC and $e^+e^-$ linear colliders. The possibility of strong electroweak symmetry breaking is examined in more detail, using the BESS (Breaking Electroweak Symmetry Strongly) model as a basis for the discussion. The formal constructions are briefly presented and the possible expectations at future colliders are summarized.
A neutrino mass model is suggested within an $SU(4)\times U(1)$ -- electroweak theory. The smallness of neutrino masses can be guaranteed by a seesaw mechanism realized through Yukawa couplings to a scalar $SU(4)$-decuplet. In this scheme the light active neutrinos are accompanied by heavy neutrinos, which may have masses at different scales, including those within eV-MeV scales investigated quite intensively in both particle physics and astrophysics/cosmology. The flavour neutrinos are superpositions of light neutrinos and a small fraction of heavy neutrinos with the mixing to be determined b…
We investigate the infra-red stability of the fixed points in the evolution of the Yukawa couplings, $A$-parameters and soft scalar masses in a broad class of supersymmetric theories. We show that the issue of stability is essentially determined in all three cases by the eigenvalues of the same matrix. In a very wide range of physically interesting theories it follows that, in the asymptotically free case, the existence of stable infra-red fixed points for the Yukawa couplings implies stable infra-red fixed points for the $A$-parameters and soft scalar masses.
We propose a novel supersymmetric unified scenario of the triplet seesaw mechanism where the exchange of the heavy triplets generates both neutrino masses and soft supersymmetry breaking terms. Our framework is very predictive since it relates neutrino mass parameters, lepton flavour violation in the slepton sector, sparticle and Higgs spectra and electroweak symmetry breakdown. The phenomenological viability and experimental signatures in lepton flavor violating processes are discussed.
We discuss a theory of flavour in which Higgs Yukawa couplings are related to those of the new scalar triplet leptoquark and/or $Z'$ responsible for $R_{K^{(*)}}$, with all couplings arising effectively from mixing with a vector-like fourth family, whose mass may be anywhere from the Planck scale to the electroweak scale for the leptoquarks explanation, but is pinned down to the TeV scale if the $Z'$ exchange plays a role. However, in this particular model, only leptoquark exchange can contribute significantly to $R_{K^{(*)}}$, since $Z'$ exchange is too constrained from $B_s$ mixing and $τ\ri…
We introduce in an arbitrary supersymmetric version of the standard model without elementary scalars a logarithmic operator which is irrelevant in the limit in which all symmetries are respected. However through a dynamical mechanism of the Nambu Jona Lasinio type this operator may produce two fermion vacuum condensates that may account for electroweak and contribute to supersymmetry breaking. Some of the phenomenological consequences of this set-up are discussed.
These three lectures review the state of our understanding of electroweak interactions and the search for the agent of electroweak symmetry breaking. The themes of the lectures are (i) the electroweak theory and its experimental status, (ii) the standard-model Higgs boson, and (iii) aspects of electroweak theory beyond the standard SU(2)_L x U(1)_Y model.
It is shown that fine-tuning of the Higgs parameters stronger than a few % is required at the best in the models with gauge mediated supersymmetry breaking. With the aim of solving this problem, we consider a new type of models in which the top Yukawa coupling is induced at TeV scale through mass mixing with unknown matter fields. Then it is found that the fine-tuning problem can be eliminated essentially. We discuss some phenomenological features of this model and also consider the extension to the next-to-minimal models.
This review provides an elementary discussion of electroweak symmetry breaking in the minimal and the next-to-minimal supersymmetric models with the focus on the fine-tuning problem -- the tension between natural electroweak symmetry breaking and the direct search limit on the Higgs boson mass. Two generic solutions of the fine-tuning problem are discussed in detail: models with unusual Higgs decays; and models with unusual pattern of soft supersymmetry breaking parameters.
With the recent discovery of a heavy top quark $(m_t \approx 175 - 200$ GeV), the top quark opens an window to electroweak symmetry breaking. We propose the study of four-top, $t\bar t t\bar t$, production at hadronic supercolliders as a probe to electroweak symmetry breaking.
I discuss the properties of the minimal supersymmetric extension of the standard model, in the case in which there is a dynamical breakdown of the electroweak symmetry induced by the formation of condensates of the third generation of quarks and their supersymmetric partners. The top quark and Higgs mass predictions derived within this scheme are essentially equivalent to those ones obtained from the requirement of bottom-tau Yukawa coupling unification in a supersymmetric grand unified scenario, if the compositeness scale is identified with the grand unification scale. I give an explanation o…
We review the mechanism of radiative electroweak symmetry breaking taking place in SUSY versions of the standard model. We further discuss different proposals for the origin of SUSY-breaking and the corresponding induced SUSY-breaking soft terms. Several proposals for the understanding of the little hierarchy problem are critically discussed.
The requirement of Yukawa coupling unification highly constrains the SUSY parameter space. In several SUSY breaking scenarios it is hard to reconcile Yukawa coupling unification with experimental constraints from B(b->s gamma) and the muon anomalous magnetic moment a_mu. We show that b-tau or even t-b-tau Yukawa unification can be satisfied simultaneously with b->s gamma and a_mu in the non-universal gaugino mediation scenario. Non-universal gaugino masses naturally appear in higher dimensional grand unified models in which gauge symmetry is broken by orbifold compactification. Relations betwe…
