Based on the non-relativistic QCD factorization scheme, we study the hadroproduction of the bottomonium states $Υ(5S)$ and $Υ(6S)$. We argue to search for them in the final states $Υ(1S,2S,3S)π^+π^-$, which are found to have anomalously large production rates at $Υ(5S)$. The enhanced rates for the dipionic transitions in the $Υ(5S)$-energy region could, besides $Υ(5S)$, be ascribed to $Y_b(10890)$, a state reported by the Belle collaboration, which may be interpreted as a tetraquark. The LHC/Tevatron measurements are capable of making a case in favor of or against the existence of $Y_b(10890)$, as demonstrated here. Dalitz analysis of the $Υ(1S,2S,3S)π^+π^-$ states from the $Υ(5S)/Y_b(10890)$ decays also impacts directly on the interpretation of the charged bottomonium-like states, $Z_b(10600)$ and $Z_b(10650)$, discovered by Belle in these puzzling decays.
We present predictions for the hadroproduction of $t\bar{t}b\bar{b}$ final states at the LHC with collision energies $\sqrt{s}$ = 8TeV and 14TeV at NLO accuracy matched with parton shower, as obtained with PowHel+ PYTHIA. We quantify the effects of parton shower and hadronization. We find these are in general moderate except the effect of the decay of heavy particles, which can modify significantly some distributions, like that of the invariant mass of the two leading b-jets. We also show kinematic distributions obtained with cuts inspired to those recently employed by the CMS collaboration. F…
We discuss recent theoretical progress in heavy-quark hadro-production, in particular focusing on processes involving charm-quarks, and on their implications in different fields of particle phenomenology, from collider to astroparticle physics.
In this paper we review the hadroproduction mechanisms of double-charm baryons for the different experimental environments and reinterpret the SELEX and LHCb results.
We extend and improve upon our previous calculation of electroweak top-quark pair hadroproduction in extensions of the Standard Model with extra heavy neutral and charged spin-1 resonances. In particular, we allow for flavour-non-diagonal $Z'$ couplings and take into account non-resonant production in the SM and beyond including the contributions with $t$-channel $W$ and $W'$ bosons. All amplitudes are generated using the Recola2 package. As in our previous work, we include NLO QCD corrections and consistently match to parton showers with the POWHEG method fully taking into account the interfe…
We discuss the hadroproductions of Lambda_c, Lambda_c bar, D and D bar in the framework of the constituent quark-diquark cascade model taking into account the valence quark annihilation. The spectra of Lambda_c and Lambda_c bar in pA, Sigma^-A and pi^-A collisions are well explained by the model using the values of parameters used in hadroproductions of D and D bar. It is shown that the role of valence diquark in the incident baryon is important for D bar productions as well as for Lambda_c production.
We compute the soft anomalous dimension (SAD) matrices for production of massive quarks $Q$ and $\bar{Q}$ in association with a gluon jet, from massless quarks $q$ and antiquarks $\bar{q}$: $q\bar{q}\rightarrow Q\bar{Q}g$, and in the gluon scattering $gg\rightarrow Q\bar{Q}g$. To analyze the behaviour of the eigenvalues of SAD matrices we perform numerical studies of their eigensystems at two special kinematical configurations.
The associated production of top-antitop-bottom-antibottom quarks is a relevant irreducible background for Higgs boson analyses in the top-antitop-Higgs production channel, with Higgs decaying into a bottom-antibottom quark pair. We implement this process in the PowHel event generator, considering the bottom quarks as massive in all steps of the computation which involves hard-scattering matrix-elements in the 4-flavour number scheme combined with 4-flavour Parton Distribution Functions. Predictions with NLO QCD + Parton Shower accuracy, as obtained by PowHel + PYTHIA, are compared to those wh…
We calculate the one-loop corrections to the soft anomalous dimension matrices for the production of a top-antitop quark pair in association with a jet at hadron colliders. This is a step forward towards implementing a procedure for the resummation of soft-gluon emission logarithms for the $t\bar{t}j + X$ hadroproduction process, that will enable the improvement of the accuracy of the $t\bar{t} j + X$ cross sections, beyond the current degree of knowledge. The latter, so far, has reached the next-to-leading order (NLO) level, complemented by the accuracy of the Shower Monte Carlo approaches us…
In this paper we show that the intrinsic heavy-quark QCD mechanism for the hadroproduction of heavy hadrons at large $x_F$ can resolve the apparent conflict between measurements of double-charm baryons by the SELEX fixed-target experiment and the LHCb experiment at the LHC collider. We show that both experiments are compatible, and that both results can be correct. The observed spectroscopy of double-charm hadrons is in agreement with the predictions of supersymmetric light front holographic QCD.

We describe calculations of $c \bar c$ production to next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO) and next-to-next-to-leading logarithm (NNLL) near threshold in $pp$ and $π^- p$ interactions. We study the relevance of these calculations for existing $c \bar c$ total cross section data by examining their sensitivity to partonic threshold kinematics, their convergence properties and scale dependence.
We present the computation of the differential cross section for the process $pp(\bar{p}) \to (W^+\,W^-\,b\,\bar{b} \to)\;e^+\,ν_e\,μ^-\,\barν_μ\,b\, \bar{b}+X$ at NLO QCD accuracy matched to Shower Monte Carlo (SMC) simulations using PowHel, on the basis of the interface between HELAC-NLO and POWHEG-BOX. We include all resonant and non-resonant contributions. This is achieved by fully taking into account the effect of off-shell t-quarks and off-shell W-bosons in the complex mass scheme. We also present a program called DECAYER that can be used to let the t-quarks present in the event files fo…
Results for next-to-leading order QCD corrections to the pp(p\bar{p}) -> t \bar{t} -> W^+W^- b\bar{b} -> e^{+} ν_{e} μ^{-} \barν_μ b \bar{b} +X processes with complete off-shell effects are presented for the first time. Double-, single- and non-resonant top contributions of the order {\cal{O}}(α_{s}^3 α^4) are consistently taken into account, which requires the introduction of a complex-mass scheme for unstable top quarks. Moreover, the intermediate W bosons are treated off-shell. Comparison to the narrow width approximation for top quarks, where non-factorizable corrections are not accounted …
The contributions from the color-octet components $|(c\bar b)_{\bf 8}(^{1}S_{0}) g>$ and $|(c\bar b)_{\bf 8}(^{3}S_{1}) g>$ to the $h_{B_c}$ or $χ_{B_c}^J$ (the $P$-wave $B_c$ meson) hadroproduction are estimated in terms of the complete ${\cal O}(α_s^4)$ calculation. As necessary inputs in the estimate, we take the values of the octet matrix elements according to the NRQCD scaling rules, and as a result, we have found that the contributions to the $P$-wave production may be the same in order of magnitude as those from the color-singlet ones, $|(c\bar b)_{\bf 1}(^{1}P_{1})>$ and $|(c\bar b)_{\…
We perform a complete study of prompt double $J/ψ$ hadroproduction at leading order in the nonrelativistic-QCD factorization framework by including all possible pairings of the $c\bar{c}$ Fock states ${}^1\!S_0^{[8]}$, ${}^3\!S_1^{[1,8]}$, and ${}^3\!P_J^{[1,8]}$ with $J=0,1,2$. We find that the ${}^1\!S_0^{[8]}$ and ${}^3\!P_J^{[8]}$ channels of $J/ψ$ and $ψ^\prime$ production and the ${}^3\!P_J^{[1]}$ and ${}^3\!S_1^{[8]}$ channels of $χ_{cJ}$ production, which have been overlooked so far, greatly dominate at large invariant masses and rapidity separations of the $J/ψ$ pair, and that their i…
Phenomenological studies of odderon effects are shortly reviewed. Special emphasis is devoted to a recent study of the exclusive production of J/psi or Upsilon in pp and bar p p collisions, where the meson emerges from the pomeron--odderon and the pomeron--photon fusion.
We study the exclusive production of J/psi or Upsilon in pp and bar pp collisions, where the meson emerges from the pomeron--odderon and the pomeron--photon fusion. We estimate the cross sections for these processes for the kinematical conditions of the Tevatron and of the LHC.
The comparison of B-meson production cross sections as the results of PYTHIA code and Quark Gluon String Model (QGSM) is carried out for energies of proton colliders: $Sp\bar(p)S$, Tevatron and LHC. Model predictions are based on the theory of supercritical Pomeron exchanges with the phenomenological intercept $Δ_P$(0)=0.3, accepted for heavy quark production.Transverse momentum spectra of B-mesons are also compared. It is shown that the cross sections calculated with PYTHIA using CTEQ structure functions are in a contradiction with the asymptotical estimation of B$\bar{B}$ production cross se…
We present the first exact analytic result for all partonic channels contributing to the total cross section for the production of a pair of heavy flavors in hadronic collisions in NLO QCD. Our calculation is an essential step in the derivation of the top quark pair production cross section at NNLO in QCD, which is a cornerstone of the precision LHC program. Our results uncover the analytical structures behind observables with heavy flavors at higher orders. They also reveal surprising and non-trivial implications for kinematics close to partonic threshold.
We derive the threshold-resummed total cross section for heavy quark production in hadronic collisions accurate to next-to-next-to-leading logarithm, employing recent advances on soft anomalous dimension matrices for massive pair production in the relevant kinematic limit. We also derive the relation between heavy quark threshold resummations for fixed pair kinematics and the inclusive cross section. As a check of our results, we have verified that they reproduce all poles of the color-averaged q\bar{q} -> t\bar{t} amplitudes at two loops, noting that the latter are insensitive to the color-an…
The phenomenological approach in the framework of Quark-Gluon String Model (QGSM) has been applied to the description of transverse momentum spectra for the baryon production at colliders. The analysis of data on hyperon transverse momentum distributions,dN/dp_t, demonstrates a difference in the dynamics of multiparticle production in proton-proton vs. antiproton-proton collisions in the region of low p_t . The most important contribution in antip-p reaction goes from fragmentation of antidiquark-diquark side of pomeron diagram. The complete study of the energy dependence of average transverse…
We study pp and p\bar p collisions which lead to the exclusive production of J/psi or Upsilon from the pomeron-odderon and the pomeron-photon fusion. We calculate scattering amplitudes of these processes in the lowest order approximation and in the framework of k_T factorization. We present estimates of cross sections for the kinematic conditions of the Tevatron and of the LHC.
We calculate the complete-NLO predictions for $t\bar{t}W^{\pm}$ and $t\bar{t}t\bar{t}$ production in proton--proton collisions at 13 and 100 TeV. All the non-vanishing contributions of $\mathcal{O}(α_s^i α^j)$ with $i+j=3,4$ for $t\bar{t}W^{\pm}$ and $i+j=4,5$ for $t\bar{t}t\bar{t}$ are evaluated without any approximation. For $t\bar{t}W^{\pm}$ we find that, due to the presence of $tW \to tW$ scattering, at 13(100) TeV the $\mathcal{O}(α_s α^3)$ contribution is about 12(70)\% of the LO, i.e., it is larger than the so-called NLO EW corrections (the $\mathcal{O}(α_s^2 α^2)$ terms) and has opposi…
Both hard and soft QCD dynamics are important in charmonium production, as presented here through a next-to-leading order QCD matrix element calculation combined with the colour evaporation model. Observed $x_F$ and $p_\perp$ distributions of $J/ψ$ in hadroproduction at fixed target and $p\bar{p}$ collider energies are reproduced. Quite similar results can also be obtained in a more phenomenologically useful Monte Carlo event generator where the perturbative production of \ccbar pairs is instead obtained through leading order matrix elements and the parton shower approximation of the higher or…
The production of heavy-flavored hadron at the hadronic colliders provides a challenging opportunity to test the validity of pQCD predictions. There are two mechanisms for the $B^{(*)}_s$ hadroproduction, i.e. the gluon-gluon fusion mechanism via the subprocess $g+g\rightarrow B^{(*)}_s+b+\bar{s}$ and the extrinsic heavy quark mechanism via the subprocesses $g+\bar{b}\to B^{(*)}_s +\bar{s}$ and $g+s\to B^{(*)}_s +b$, both of which shall have sizable contributions in proper kinematic region. Different from the fixed-flavor-number scheme (FFNS) previously adopted in the literature, we study the …
Double $J/ψ$ production on the order of 20-30 pb has been observed by the NA3 collaboration. These $ψψ$ pairs, measured in $π^- N$ interactions at 150 and 280 GeV$/c$ and in $pN$ interactions at 400 GeV$/c$, carry a large fraction of the projectile momentum, $x_{ψψ} \geq 0.6$ for the 150 GeV$/c$ beam and $\geq 0.4$ at 280 GeV$/c$. We examine several sources of $ψψ$ pair production within QCD, including ${\cal O}(α_s^4)$ $ψψ$ production, leading-twist $b \overline b$ production and decay, and the materialization of heavy-quark Fock states in the projectile. We estimate the production cross sect…
The $q_{\mathrm{T}}$ and $Δϕ_{t\bar{t}}$ spectra in top-antitop hadroproduction at NNLL+NNLO: the interplay of soft-collinear resummation and Coulomb singularities
Using information on B-meson fragmentation functions from CERN LEP 1 and adopting the nonrelativistic QCD factorization formalism proposed by Bodwin, Braaten, and Lepage, we predict the transverse-momentum distribution of J/psi mesons originating from the inclusive decays of b hadrons produced in p p-bar collisions at the Fermilab Tevatron. We determine the relevant colour-octet charmonium matrix elements from fits to CDF data on prompt charmonium hadroproduction and to CLEO data on charmonium production from B-meson decay. Our predictions are found to agree well with recent CDF and D0 data.
Sum rule tests are performed on the spectral data for (i) flavor 'ud' vector- current-induced hadronic tau decays and (ii) e^+ e^- hadroproduction, in the region below s~3-4 GeV^2, where discrepancies exist between the isospin- breaking-corrected charged and neutral current I=1 spectral functions. The tau data is found to be compatible with expectations based on high-scale alpha_s(M_Z) determinations, while the electroproduction data displays two problems. The results favor determinations of the leading order hadronic contribution to (g-2)_mu which incorporate hadronic tau decay data over thos…
We study the Single-Parton-Scattering (SPS) production of double quarkonia (J/psi+J/psi, J/psi+Upsilon, and Upsilon+Upsilon) in pp and pp(bar) collisions at the LHC and the Tevatron as measured by the CMS, ATLAS, LHCb, and D0 experiments in the Colour-Evaporation Model (CEM), based on the quark-hadron-duality, including Next-to-Leading Order (NLO) QCD corrections up to alpha_s^5. To do so, we also perform the first true NLO --up to alpha_s^4-- study of the p_T-differential cross section for single-quarkonium production. This allows us to fix the non-perturbative CEM parameters at NLO accuracy …
We present predictions for the prompt-neutrino flux arising from the decay of charmed mesons and baryons produced by the interactions of high-energy cosmic rays in the Earth's atmosphere, making use of a QCD approach on the basis of the general-mass variable-flavor-number scheme for the description of charm hadroproduction at next-to-leading order, complemented by a consistent set of fragmentation functions. This same scheme is used for the description of charm hadroproduction at both the Tevatron and the Large Hadron Collider. We compare the theoretical predictions to those already obtained b…
Quarkonium data suggest an enhancement of the hadroproduction rate from interactions of the heavy quark pair with a comoving color field generated in the hard gg -> Q\bar{Q} subprocess. We review the motivations and principal consequences of this comover enhancement scenario (CES).
We investigate the consequences of deviations from the Standard Model observed in $b\to sμμ$ transitions for flavour-changing neutral-current processes involving down-type quarks and neutrinos. We derive the relevant Wilson coefficients within an effective field theory approach respecting the SM gauge symmetry, including right-handed currents, a flavour structure based on approximate $U(2)$ symmetry, and assuming only SM-like light neutrinos. We discuss correlations among $B \to K^{(*)} ν\bar ν$ and $K\to πν\bar ν$ branching ratios in the case of linear Minimal Flavour Violation and in a more …
The channel $D_s^+\to p\bar n$ is the only kinematically allowed baryonic D decay. It proceeds solely through the W-annihilation topology. Hence, a recent observation of this mode by CLEO will shed light on the dynamics of W-annihilation. At the short-distance level, its branching ratio is very small, of order $10^{-6}$, owing to chiral suppression. It receives long-distance contributions through final-state scattering of the leading tree and color-suppressed amplitudes. Assuming that the long-distance enhancement of W-annihilation in the baryonic D decay is similar to that in the mesonic $D_s…
We investigate the consequences of deviations from the Standard Model observed in $b\to sμμ$ transitions for flavour-changing neutral-current processes involving down-type quarks and neutrinos, under generic assumptions concerning the structure of New Physics. We derive the relevant Wilson coefficients within an effective field theory approach respecting the SM gauge symmetry, including right-handed currents and assuming a flavour structure based on approximate $U(2)$ symmetry, and only SM-like light neutrinos. We discuss correlations among $B \to K^{(*)} ν\bar ν$ and $K\to πν\bar ν$ branching…
Recent analyses of precision low energy electroweak data indicate that the deviation from the Standard Model predictions of the measurement of atomic parity violation (2.3σ), the effective number of massless neutrinos (2σ), and A_b (2.7σ) could be better described if the existence of an extra Z' neutral gauge boson is assumed. We investigate the implications of a 300-500 GeV/c^2 extra Z' on current p\bar{p} collider data at \sqrt{s}=1.8 TeV, including the forward-backward charge asymmetry for very high mass e^+e^- pairs, and the invariant mass spectrum of high mass e^+e^-, μ^+μ^-, t\bar t and …
The process $p \bar p \rightarrow μ^- \bar νγγ$ is calculated including finite lepton mass effects. Implications for precision measurements of the $W$ mass at the Tevatron are discussed.
By assuming that Y(4260) either is a $D_1\bar{D}$ molecular state, or has sizeable couplings with $D_0 \bar{D}^*$ and $D_1^\prime \bar{D}$, we investigate several decay modes of Y(4260). Under the special kinematic configurations, triangle singularity (TS) may occur in the rescattering amplitude, which will significantly change the threshold behavior. Obvious threshold enhancements or narrow cusp structures appear quite naturally without introducing a genuine resonance. We emphasize that the radiative decay modes may be useful for studying $D^{(*)}\bar{D}$ $S$-wave scattering.
Recently, the standard model predictions for the $B$-meson hadronic decays, $\bar{B}^0 \to D^{(\ast)+}K^-$ and $\bar{B}^0_s \to D^{(\ast)+}_s π^-$, have been updated based on the QCD factorization approach. This improvement sheds light on a novel puzzle in the $B$-meson hadronic decays: there are mild but universal tensions between data and the predicted branching ratios. Assuming the higher-order QCD corrections are not huge enough to solve the tension, we examine several new physics interpretations of this puzzle. We find that the tension can be partially explained by a left-handed $W^\prime…
The KOTO experiment recently reported four candidate events in the signal region of $K_L\to π^0 ν\barν$ search, where the standard model only expects $0.10\pm 0.02$ events. If confirmed, this requires physics beyond the standard model to enhance the signal. We examine various new physics interpretations of the result including these: (1) heavy new physics boosting the standard model signal, (2) reinterpretation of "$ν\barν$" as a new light long-lived particle, or (3) reinterpretation of the whole signal as the production of a new light long-lived particle at the fixed target. We study the abov…
We study the effective $B-L$ violating couplings for scalar and vector leptoquarks which can naturally induce dimension seven $B-L$ violating operators leading to very interesting nucleon decay modes such as $n \rightarrow e^- π^+, e^-K^+,μ^- π^+, μ^-K^+$ and $p \rightarrow νπ^+$. This opens a new window to probe the nature and couplings of the scalar and vector leptoquarks in an ultraviolet model independent way which can provide an orthogonal probe for scalar and vector leptoquark solutions to the recent anomalous $B$-decay data. Furthermore, we also discuss how these $B-L$ violating interac…
We provide a comprehensive, up-to-date analysis of possible New Physics contributions to the mass difference $ΔM_D$ in $D^0$-${\bar D}^0$ mixing. We consider the most general low energy effective Hamiltonian and include leading order QCD running of effective operators. We then explore an extensive list of possible New Physics models that can generate these operators, which we organize as including Extra Fermions, Extra Gauge Bosons, Extra Scalars, Extra Space Dimensions and Extra Symmetries. For each model we place restrictions on the allowed parameter space using the recent evidence for obser…

We analyze the impact of effective axial-vector coupling of the gluon on spin polarization observables in $t\bar{t}$ pair production at the LHC. Working at leading order in QCD, we compute the $t\bar{t}$ spin-correlation and left-right spin asymmetry coefficients in the helicity basis in the laboratory frame as functions of the new physics scale $Λ$ associated with this coupling. We found that the $t\bar{t}$ invariant mass dependent asymmetries are more sensitive to the scale $Λ$ than the corresponding inclusive ones, in particular when suitable cuts selecting high $t\bar{t}$ invariant mass re…
We analyze the significant new model independent constraints on extensions of the standard model (SM) that follow from the recent measurements of the B^0_s-\bar B^0_s mass difference. The time-dependent CP asymmetry in B_s -> ψϕ, S_{ψϕ}, will be measured with good precision in the first year of LHC data taking, which will further constrain the parameter space of many extensions of the SM, in particular, next-to-minimal flavor violation. The CP asymmetry in semileptonic B_s decay, A_{SL}^s, is also important to constrain these frameworks, and could give further clues to our understanding the fl…
We discuss some motivations for detecting high-energy neutrinos through the pure electroweak processes such as $\barν_e e^-\to W^- $ and $\barν_e e^-\to W^-γ$. We argue that the latter process can be viewed as an enhancement to the former one. The event-rate enhancement is estimated.
he excess of data on the total cross section of $\bar{b}b$ production in $γγ$ collisions over QCD predictions, observed by L3, OPAL and DELPHI Collaborations at LEP2, has so far defied explanation. The recent final analysis of L3 data has brought important new information concerning the dependence of the observed excess on the $γγ$ collisions energy $W_{γγ}$. The implications of this dependence are discussed.
Combined analysis of recent measured $\bs$ mixing and $B \to X_s γ$ decays provides constraints on the anomalous $\bar{t}sW$ couplings. We discuss the perspectives to examine the anomalous $\bar{t}sW$ couplings through CKM-suppressed $ t \to s W$ decays at the LHC.
We discuss the implications of CP violation as well as final state interaction phases in the experimental search for $D^0-\bar{D}^0$ mixing. At the present level of sensitivity, these are not yet a significant systematic experimental limitation.
We study the effect of unparticle stuff on $B_s - \bar{B}_s$ mixing and consider possible implications of it for the decaymodes $B_s \to J/ψϕ$ and $ϕϕ$. We find that due to the new contributions from the unparticles the $B_s - \bar{B}_s$ mixing phase could be observable at the LHC along with the possible sizable CP asymmetry parameters $S_{ψϕ(ϕϕ)}$ in $B_s \to J/ψϕ(ϕϕ)$ decay modes.
We derive constraints on the mass insertion parameters from the recent measurements of B_s - B_s bar mixing, and discuss their implications on SUSY breaking mediation mechanisms and SUSY flavor models. Some SUSY flavor models are already excluded or disfavored by B_s - B_s bar mixing. We also discuss how to test the SM and SUSY models in the future experiments, by studying other CP violating observables related to b -> s transition, such as the time-dependent CP asymmetry in B -> phi K_S and the direct CP asymmetry in B -> X_s gamma.
Fermilab experiment E791, measuring charmed hadron production in $π^- A$ interactions at 500 GeV with high statistics, has observed a strong asymmetry between the hadroproduction cross sections for leading $D$ mesons which contain projectile valence quarks and the nonleading charmed mesons without projectile valence quarks. Such correlations of the charge of the $D$ meson with the quantum numbers of the beam hadron explicitly contradict the factorization theorem in perturbative QCD which predicts that heavy quarks hadronize through a jet fragmentation function that is independent of the initia…
Future neutron-antineutron ($n$-$\bar n$) oscillation experiments, such as at the European Spallation Source and the Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment, aim to find first evidence of baryon number violation. We investigate implications of an improved $n$-$\bar n$ oscillation search for baryogenesis via interactions of $n$-$\bar n$ mediators, parameterized by an effective field theory (EFT). We find that even in a minimal EFT setup, there is overlap between the parameter space probed by $n$-$\bar n$ oscillation and the region that can realize the observed baryon asymmetry of the universe. The…
Two recent experimental developments, when combined, may have far reaching implications. $S_{ϕK_S} < 0$, if confirmed, would imply large $s$-$b$ mixing, a new CP phase, and right-handed dynamics. Large $Δm_{B_s}$ would be likely, making the $B_s$ program at hadron machines difficult. Reconstruction of $B$ vertex from $K_S$ at B factories, as shown by BaBar's first measurement of $S_{K_Sπ^0}$, makes $S_{K_Sπ^0γ}$ in $\bar B\to \bar K^{*0}γ$ accessible. This would be a boon for B factory upgrades. Supersymmetric Abelian flavor symmetry, independently motivated, can realize all of this with a lig…
Both BaBar and Belle have found evidence for a non-zero width difference in the $D^0$-$\bar D^0$ system. Although there is no direct experimental evidence for CP-violation in $D$ mixing (yet), we show that the measured values of the width difference $y\sim ΔΓ$ already imply constraints on the CP-violating phase in $D$ mixing, which, if significantly different from zero, would be an unambiguous signal of new physics.
