We extend a recent result of Pantev-Toen-Vaquie-Vezzosi, who constructed shifted symplectic structures on derived mapping stacks having a Calabi-Yau source and a shifted symplectic target. Their construction gives a clear conceptual framework for the so-called AKSZ formalism.
We extend the PTVV construction to derived mapping stacks with boundary conditions, which is required in most applications to quantum field theories (see e.g. the work of Cattaneo-Felder on the Poisson sigma model, and the recent work of Cattaneo-Mnev-Reshetikhin). We provide many examples of Lagrangian and symplectic structures that can be recovered in this way.
We finally give an application to topological field theories (TFTs). We expect that our approach will help to rigorously constuct a 2 dimensional TFT introduced by Moore and Tachikawa. A subsequent paper will be devoted to the construction of fully extended TFTs (in the sense of Baez-Dolan and Lurie) from mapping stacks.
We give a new way to produce examples of Lagrangians in shifted symplectic derived stacks, based on multiple intersections. Specifically, we show that an m-fold fiber product of Lagrangians in a shifted symplectic derived stack its itself Lagrangian in a certain cyclic product of pairwise homotopy fiber products of the Lagrangians.
We study Givental's Lagrangian cone for the quantum orbifold cohomology of toric stack bundles and prove that the I-function gives points in the Lagrangian cone, namely we construct an explicit slice of the Lagrangian cone defined by the genus $0$ Gromov-Witten theory of a toric stack bundle.
In this article, we construct a $2$-category of Lagrangians in a fixed shifted symplectic derived stack S. The objects and morphisms are all given by Lagrangians living on various fiber products. A special case of this gives a $2$-category of $n$-shifted symplectic derived stacks $Symp^n$. This is a $2$-category version of Weinstein's symplectic category in the setting of derived symplectic geometry. We introduce another $2$-category $Symp^{or}$ of $0$-shifted symplectic derived stacks where the objects and morphisms in $Symp^0$ are enhanced with orientation data. Using this, we define a parti…
Let $Λ$ be a smooth Lagrangian submanifold of a complex symplectic manifold $X$. We construct twisted simple holonomic modules along $Λ$ in the stack of deformation-quantization modules on $X$.
We prove that shifted cotangent stacks carry a canonical shifted symplectic structure. We also prove that shifted conormal stacks carry a canonical Lagrangian structure. These results were believed to be true but no written proof was available in the Artin case.
It is shown that there are globally defined Lagrangian distributions on the stable loci of derived Quot-stacks of coherent sheaves on Calabi--Yau four-folds. Dividing by these distributions produces perfectly obstructed smooth stacks with globally defined $-1$-shifted potentials, whose derived critical loci give back the stable loci of smooth stacks of sheaves in global Darboux form.
We investigate quantisations of line bundles $\mathcal{L}$ on derived Lagrangians $X$ over $0$-shifted symplectic derived Artin $N$-stacks $Y$. In our derived setting, a deformation quantisation consists of a curved $A_{\infty}$ deformation of the structure sheaf $\mathcal{O}_{Y}$, equipped with a curved $A_{\infty}$ morphism to the ring of differential operators on $\mathcal{L}$; for line bundles on smooth Lagrangian subvarieties of smooth symplectic algebraic varieties, this simplifies to deforming $(\mathcal{L}, \mathcal{O}_{Y})$ to a DQ module over a DQ algebroid. For each choice of formal…
We extend results about $n$-shifted coisotropic structures from part I of this work to the setting of derived Artin stacks. We show that an intersection of coisotropic morphisms carries a Poisson structure of shift one less. We also compare non-degenerate shifted coisotropic structures and shifted Lagrangian structures and show that there is a natural equivalence between the two spaces in agreement with the classical result. Finally, we define quantizations of $n$-shifted coisotropic structures and show that they exist for $n>1$.
We extend our previous work arXiv:1007.0053 on coherent-constructible correspondence for toric varieties to include toric Deligne-Mumford (DM) stacks. Following Borisov-Chen-Smith, a toric DM stack $\cX_\bSi$ is described by a "stacky fan" $\bSi=(N,\Si,β)$, where $N$ is a finitely generated abelian group and $\Si$ is a simplicial fan in $N_\bR=N\otimes_{\bZ}\bR$. From $\bSi$ we define a conical Lagrangian $Λ_\bSi$ inside the cotangent $T^*M_\bR$ of the dual vector space $M_\bR$ of $N_\bR$, such that torus-equivariant, coherent sheaves on $\cX_\bSi$ are equivalent to constructible sheaves on $M…
This is the first of a series of papers about \emph{quantization} in the context of \emph{derived algebraic geometry}. In this first part, we introduce the notion of \emph{$n$-shifted symplectic structures}, a generalization of the notion of symplectic structures on smooth varieties and schemes, meaningful in the setting of derived Artin n-stacks. We prove that classifying stacks of reductive groups, as well as the derived stack of perfect complexes, carry canonical 2-shifted symplectic structures. Our main existence theorem states that for any derived Artin stack $F$ equipped with an $n$-shif…
We introduce geometric quantization in the setting of shifted symplectic structures. We define Lagrangian fibrations and prequantizations of shifted symplectic stacks and their geometric quantization. In addition, we study many examples including symplectic groupoids, Hamiltonian spaces and moduli spaces of flat connections. In the case of Hamiltonian spaces we prove a derived analog of the "quantization commutes with reduction" principle.
Pantev, Toen, Vaquié and Vezzosi arXiv:1111.3209 defined $k$-shifted symplectic derived schemes and stacks ${\bf X}$ for $k\in\mathbb Z$, and Lagrangians ${\bf f}:{\bf L}\to{\bf X}$ in them. They have important applications to Calabi-Yau geometry and quantization. Bussi, Brav and Joyce arXiv:1305.6302 proved a 'Darboux Theorem' giving explicit Zariski or étale local models for $k$-shifted symplectic derived schemes ${\bf X}$ for $k<0$ presenting them as twisted shifted cotangent bundles. We prove a 'Lagrangian Neighbourhood Theorem' giving explicit Zariski or etale local models for Lagrangians…
Let $f:U\to{\mathbb A}^1$ be a regular function on a smooth scheme $U$ over a field $\mathbb K$. Pantev, Toen, Vaquie and Vezzosi (arXiv:1111.3209, arXiv:1109.5213) define the "derived critical locus" Crit$(f)$, an example of a new class of spaces in derived algebraic geometry, which they call "$-1$-shifted symplectic derived schemes". They show that intersections of algebraic Lagrangians in a smooth symplectic $\mathbb K$-scheme, and stable moduli schemes of coherent sheaves on a Calabi-Yau 3-fold over $\mathbb K$, are also $-1$-shifted symplectic derived schemes. Thus, their theory may have …
We construct a family of oriented extended topological field theories using the AKSZ construction in derived algebraic geometry, which can be viewed as an algebraic and topological version of the classical AKSZ field theories that occur in physics. These have as their targets higher categories of symplectic derived stacks, with higher morphisms given by iterated Lagrangian correspondences. We define these, as well as analogous higher categories of oriented derived stacks and iterated oriented cospans, and prove that all objects are fully dualizable. Then we set up a functorial version of the A…
We study modules over the algebroid stack $\W[\stx]$ of deformation quantization on a complex symplectic manifold $\stx$ and recall some results: construction of an algebra for $\star$-products, existence of (twisted) simple modules along smooth Lagrangian submanifolds, perversity of the complex of solutions for regular holonomic $\W[\stx]$-modules, finiteness and duality for the composition of ``good'' kernels. As a corollary, we get that the derived category of good $\W[\stx]$-modules with compact support is a Calabi-Yau category. We also give a conjectural Riemann-Roch type formula in this …
We prove a 'Darboux theorem' for derived schemes with symplectic forms of degree $k<0$, in the sense of Pantev, Toen, Vaquie and Vezzosi arXiv:1111.3209. More precisely, we show that a derived scheme $X$ with symplectic form $ω$ of degree $k$ is locally equivalent to (Spec $A,ω'$) for Spec $A$ an affine derived scheme whose cdga $A$ has Darboux-like coordinates in which the symplectic form $ω'$ is standard, and the differential in $A$ is given by Poisson bracket with a Hamiltonian function $H$ in $A$ of degree $k+1$. When $k=-1$, this implies that a $-1$-shifted symplectic derived scheme $(X,ω…
