The existence of glueballs, bound states of gluons, is one of the basic predictions of QCD; the lightest state is expected to be a scalar. The experimental situation, however, is still ambiguous. The existence of f_0(1370) would point to a supernumerous state within the nonet classification of scalars and would therefore provide a hint towards a glueball. In this talk we summarize some arguments in favour and against the existence of f_0(1370) and discuss schemes with and without this state included.
This compact review about gluonium focuses on a slate of theoretical efforts; among the many standing works, I have selected several that are meant to assist in the identification, among ordinary mesons, of the few Yang-Mills glueball configurations that populate the energy region below 3 GeV. This includes $J/ψ$ radiative and vector-meson decays, studies of scalar meson mixing, of high-energy cross sections via the Pomeron and the odderon, glueball decays, etc. The weight of accumulated evidence seems to support the $f_0(1710)$ as having a large (and the largest) glueball component among the …
In this contribution we present results of the calculations of several hadronic spectra within the holographic graviton soft-wall (GSW) model. In particular, we studied and compared with data for the ground state and excitations of: glueballs, scalar, vector, axial and pseudo-scalar mesons. The GSW model is found to be capable to describe these observable with only few parameters.
The graviton soft wall model (GSW) provides a unified description of the scalar glueball and meson spectra with a unique energy scale. This success has led us to extend the analysis to the description of the spectra of other hadrons. We use this model to calculate masses of the odd and even ground states of glueballs for various spins, and show that the GSW model is able to reproduce the Regge trajectory of these systems. In addition, the spectra of the $ρ$, $a_1$ and the $η$ mesons will be addressed. Results are in excellent agreement with current experimental data.Furthermore such an achieve…
Hadron spectroscopy, the driving force of high-energy physics in its early decades, has experienced a renaissance in interest over the past 20 years due to the discovery of scores of new, potentially "exotic states" (tetraquarks, pentaquarks, hybrid mesons, glueballs), as well as the observation of many new "conventional" hadrons. The new discoveries expose our lack of understanding about hadronic states, beyond just a few low excitations of the simplest quark configurations. Even so, no single theoretical interpretation (such as hadron molecules, threshold effects, diquark compounds, or other…
Because of the presence of modified warp factors in metric tensors, we use deformed AdS$_5$ spaces to apply the AdS/CFT correspondence to calculate the spectra for even and odd glueballs, scalar and vector mesons, and baryons with different spins. For the glueball cases, we derive their Regge trajectories and compare them with those related to the pomeron and the odderon. For the scalar and vector mesons as well as baryons the determined masses are compatible with the PDG. In particular for these hadrons we found Regge trajectories compatible with another holographic approach as well as with t…
Role of scalar mesons in the beam asymmetry of $p \bar p$ and $Λ\bar Λ$ photoproduction at JLab
另外,我们还估计了重标量介子态$f_0(2020)$,$f_0(2100)$,和$f_0(2200)$的贡献.
Stimulated by the newly observed $a_0(1817)$ by the BESIII Collaboration, we find a perfect Regge trajectory composed of the $a_0(980)$, $a_0(1450)$, and $a_0(1817)$, which leads us to categorize the $a_0(980)$, $a_0(1450)$, and $a_0(1817)$ into the isovector scalar meson family. This scenario is supported by their two-body Okubo-Zweig-Iizuka allowed strong decay behaviors. In this scheme, we also predict the third radial excitation of the $a_0(980)$, which is denoted as the $a_0(2115)$, accessible at future experiment as a direct test of this assignment. We find another Regge trajectory which…
The importance of $S$-matrix unitarity in realistic meson spectroscopy is reviewed, both its historical development and more recent applications. First the effects of imposing $S$-matrix unitarity on meson resonances is demonstrated in both the elastic and the inelastic case. Then, the static quark model is revisited and its theoretical as well as phenomenological shortcomings are highlighted. A detailed account is presented of the mesons in the tables of the Particle Data Group that cannot be explained at all or only poorly in models describing mesons as pure quark-antiquark bound states.
