We formulate a theory of non-Abelian fractional quantum Hall states by considering an anisotropic system consisting of coupled, interacting one dimensional wires. We show that Abelian bosonization provides a simple framework for characterizing the Moore Read state, as well as the more general Read Rezayi sequence. This coupled wire construction provides a solvable Hamiltonian formulated in terms of electronic degrees of freedom, and provides a direct route to characterizing the quasiparticles and edge states in terms of conformal field theory. This construction leads to a simple interpretation of the coset construction of conformal field theory, which is a powerful method for describing non Abelian states. In the present context, the coset construction arises when the original chiral modes are fractionalized into coset sectors, and the different sectors acquire energy gaps due to coupling in "different directions". The coupled wire construction can also can be used to describe anisotropic lattice systems, and provides a starting point for models of fractional and non-Abelian Chern insulators. This paper also includes an extended introduction to the coupled wire construction for Abelian quantum Hall states, which was introduced earlier.
We use bosonic field theories and the infinite system density matrix renormalization group (iDMRG) method to study infinite strips of fractional quantum Hall (FQH) states starting from microscopic Hamiltonians. Finite-entanglement scaling allows us to accurately measure chiral central charge, edge mode exponents and momenta without finite-size errors. We analyze states in the first and second level of the standard hierarchy and compare our results to predictions of the chiral Luttinger liquid ($χ$LL) theory. The results confirm the universality of scaling exponents in chiral edges and demonstr…
We report on quantum interference between a pair of counterpropagating quantum Hall edge states that are separated by a high quality tunnel barrier. Observed Aharonov-Bohm oscillations are analyzed in terms of resonant tunneling between coupled Luttinger liquids that creates bound electronic states between pairs of tunnel centers that act like interference slits. We place a lower bound in the range of 20-40 $μ$m for the phase coherence length and directly confirm the extended phase coherence of quantum Hall edge states.
We report current transmission data through a split-gate constriction fabricated onto a two-dimensional electron system in the integer quantum Hall (QH) regime. Split-gate biasing drives inter-edge backscattering and is shown to lead to suppressed or enhanced transmission, in marked contrast with the expected linear Fermi-liquid behavior. This evolution is described in terms of particle-hole symmetry and allows us to conclude that an unexpected class of gate-controlled particle-hole-symmetric chiral Luttinger Liquids (CLLs) can exist at the edges of our QH circuit. These results highlight the …
The effective field theory of the fractional quantum Hall edge is reformulated from microscopic dynamics. Noncommutative Chern-Simons theory is a microscopic description for the quantum Hall fluid. We use it for reference. Considering relabeling symmetry of the electrons and incompressibility of the fluid, we obtain a constraint and derive a chiral Tomonaga-Luttinger liquid theory containing interaction terms. We calculate one-loop corrections to the phonon and electron propagators and get a new tunneling exponent. It agrees with experiments.
The chiral Luttinger model for the edges of the fractional quantum Hall effect is obtained as the low energy limit of the Chern-Simons theory for the two dimensional system. In particular we recover the Kac-Moody algebra for the creation and annihilation operators of the edge density waves and the bosonization formula for the electronic operator at the edge.
We give a microscopic derivation of the chiral Luttinger liquid theory for the Laughlin states. Starting from the wave function describing an arbitrary incompressibly deformed Laughlin state (IDLS) we quantize these deformations. In this way we obtain the low-energy projections of local microscopic operators and derive the quantum field theory of edge excitations directly from quantum mechanics of electrons. This shows that to describe experimental and numeric deviations from chiral Luttinger liquid theory one needs to go beyond Laughlin's approximation. We show that in the large N limit the I…
In this paper, we present a description of Haldane's Luttinger liquid which parallels Laughlin's theory of the Fractional Quantum Hall (FQH) incompressible fluid, both exhibiting similar ground states as well as fractional excitations. These two non-Fermi liquids are instances of a generic structure for low-dimensional quantum liquids which we propose to dub Jastrow-Luttinger Fractional Liquids. An important feature of such liquids is the complete fractionalization of the parent particle. In particular, in both one and two dimensions spin-charge separation can be achieved and is indeed suggest…
We report on the observation of a helical Luttinger-liquid in the edge of InAs/GaSb quantum spin Hall insulator, which shows characteristic suppression of conductance at low temperature and low bias voltage. Moreover, the conductance shows power-law behavior as a function of temperature and bias voltage. The results underscore the strong electron-electron interaction effect in transport of InAs/GaSb edge states. Because of the fact that the Fermi velocity of the edge modes is controlled by gates, the Luttinger parameter can be fine tuned. Realization of a tunable Luttinger-liquid offers a one-…
This article reports on our microscopic investigations of the edge of the fractional quantum Hall state at filling factor $ν=1/3$. We show that the interaction dependence of the wave function is well described in an approximation that includes mixing with higher composite-fermion Landau levels in the lowest order. We then proceed to calculate the equal time edge Green function, which provides evidence that the Luttinger exponent characterizing the decay of the Green function at long distances is interaction dependent. The relevance of this result to tunneling experiments is discussed.
We study the transconductance for two coupled one-dimensional wires or edge states described by Luttinger liquid models. The wires are assumed to interact over a finite segment. We find for the interaction parameter $g=1/2$ that the drag rate is finite at zero temperature, which cannot occur in a Fermi-liquid system. The zero temperature drag is, however, cut off at low temperature due to the finite length of the wires. We also consider edge states in the fractional quantum Hall regime, and we suggest that the low temperature enhancement of the drag effect might be seen in the fractional quant…
We present first numerical studies of the disorder effect on the recently proposed intrinsic spin Hall conductance in a three dimensional (3D) lattice Luttinger model. The results show that the spin Hall conductance remains finite in a wide range of disorder strength, with large fluctuations. The disorder-configuration-averaged spin Hall conductance monotonically decreases with the increase of disorder strength and vanishes before the Anderson localization takes place. The finite-size effect is also discussed.
Wen's chiral Tomonaga-Luttinger model for the edge of an m-layer quantum Hall system of total filling factor nu=m/(pm +- 1) with even p, is derived as a random-phase approximation of the Chern-Simons theory for these states. The theory allows for a description of edges both in and out of equilibrium, including their collective excitation spectrum and the tunneling exponent into the edge. While the tunneling exponent is insensitive to the details of a nu=m/(pm + 1) edge, it tends to decrease when a nu=m/(pm - 1) edge is taken out of equilibrium. The applicability of the theory to fractional qua…
Domain walls in fractional quantum Hall ferromagnets are gapless helical one-dimensional channels formed at the boundaries of topologically distinct quantum Hall (QH) liquids. Naïvely, these helical domain walls (hDWs) constitute two counter-propagating chiral states with opposite spins. Coupled to an s-wave superconductor, helical channels are expected to lead to topological superconductivity with high order non-Abelian excitations. Here we investigate transport properties of hDWs in the $ν=2/3$ fractional QH regime. Experimentally we found that current carried by hDWs is substantially smalle…
Quantum oscillation phenomena, in conventional 2-dimensional electron systems and in the fractional quantum Hall effect, are usually treated in the Lifshitz-Kosevich formalism. This is justified in three dimensions by Luttinger's expansion, in the parameter $omega_c/μ$. We show that in two dimensions this expansion breaks down, and derive a new expression, exact in the limit where rainbow graphs dominate the self-energy. Application of our results to the fractional quantum Hall effect near half-filling shows very strong deviations from Lifshitz-Kosevich behaviour. We expect that such deviation…
We discuss the signatures of a Kramers pair of Majorana modes formed in a Josephson junction on top of a quantum spin Hall system. We show that, while ignoring interactions on the quantum spin Hall edge allows arbitrary Andreev process in the system, moderate repulsive interactions stabilize Andreev transmission - the hole goes into the opposite lead from where the electron has arrived. We analyze the renormalization group equations and deduce the existence of a non-trivial critical point for sufficiently strong interactions.
We derive, from first principles, the complete Luttinger liquid theory of abelian quantum Hall edge states. This theory includes the effects of disorder and Coulomb interactions as well as the coupling to external electromagnetic fields. We introduce a theory of spatially separated (individually conserved) edge modes, find an enlarged dual symmetry and obtain a complete classification of quasiparticle operators and tunneling exponents. The chiral anomaly on the edge and Laughlin's gauge argument are used to obtain unambiguously the Hall conductance. In resolving the problem of counter flowing …
We study fractional quantum Hall states in the cylinder geometry with open boundaries. We focus on principal fermionic 1/3 and bosonic 1/2 fractions in the case of hard-core interactions. The gap behavior as a function of the cylinder radius is analyzed. By adding enough orbitals to allow for edge modes we show that it is possible to measure the Luttinger parameter of the non-chiral liquid formed by the combination of the two counterpropagating edges when we add a small confining potential. While we measure a Luttinger exponent consistent with the chiral Luttinger theory prediction for the ful…
The existence of long-lived non-equilibrium states without showing thermalization, which has previously been demonstrated in time evolution of ultracold atoms, suggests the possibility of their spatial analogue in transport behavior of interacting electrons in solid-state systems. Here we report long-lived non-equilibrium states in one-dimensional edge channels in the integer quantum Hall regime. An indirect heating scheme in a counterpropagating configuration is employed to generate a non-trivial binary spectrum consisting of high- and low-temperature components. This unusual spectrum is sust…
In this paper we study the differential capacitance of a single-level quantum dot attached to quantum wires in the Luttinger liquid phase, or to fractional quantum Hall edges, by both tunneling and interactions. We show that logarithmic or even power-law divergence of the capacitance at low temperatures may result in a substantial region of the parameter space (including the $ν=1/3$ filling). This behavior is a manifestation of generalized two channel Kondo physics, and can be used to extract Luttinger liquid parameters from thermodynamic measurements.
Power law suppression of local electronic tunneling density of states (TDOS) in the zero-energy limit is a hallmark of Luttinger liquid (LL) phase of the interacting 1-D electron system. We present a theoretical model which hosts LL state with the surprising feature of enhancement rather than suppression in local TDOS originating from non-local and repulsive density-density interactions. Importantly, we find enhancement of TDOS in the manifold of parameter space where the system is stable in the renormalization group (RG) sense. We argue that enhancement of TDOS along with RG stability is poss…
We present a comprehensive study of the effective Conformal Field Theory (CFT) describing the low energy excitations of a gas of spinless interacting fermions on a circle in the gapless regime (Luttinger liquid). Functional techniques and modular transformation properties are used to compute all correlation functions in a finite size and at finite temperature. Forward scattering disorder is treated exactly. Laughlin experiments on charge transport in a Quantum Hall Fluid on a cylinder are reviewed within this CFT framework. Edge excitations above a given bulk excitation are described by a twis…
We study the semi-classical motion of holes by exact numerical solution of the Luttinger model. The trajectories obtained for the heavy and light holes agree well with the higher order corrections to the abelian and the non-abelian adiabatic theories in Ref. [1] [S. Murakami et al., Science 301, 1378(2003)], respectively. It is found that the hole trajectories contain rapid oscillations reminiscent of the "Zitterbewegung" of relativistic electrons. We also comment on the non-conservation of helicity of the light holes.
Mean-field theory predicts that bilayer quantum Hall systems at odd integer total filling factors can have stripe ground states in which the top Landau level is occupied alternately by electrons in one of the two layers. We report on an analysis of the properties of these states based on a coupled Luttinger liquid description that is able to account for quantum fluctuations of charge-density and position along each stripe edge. The soft modes associated with the broken symmetries of the stripe state lead to an unusual coupled Luttinger liquid system with strongly enhanced low-temperature heat …
We analyze the current noise, generated at a quantum point contact in fractional quantum Hall edge state devices, using the chiral Luttinger liquid model with an impurity and the associated exact field theoretic solution. We demonstrate that an experimentally relevant regime of parameters exists where the noise coincides with the partition noise of independent Laughlin quasiparticles. However, outside of this regime, this independent particle picture breaks down and the inclusion of interaction effects is essential to understand the shot noise.
The gapless edge modes of the Quantum Spin Hall insulator form a helical liquid in which the direction of motion along the edge is determined by the spin orientation of the electrons. In order to probe the Luttinger liquid physics of these edge states and their interaction with a magnetic (Kondo) impurity, we consider a setup where the helical liquid is tunnel-coupled to a semiconductor quantum dot which is excited by optical absorption, thereby inducing an effective quantum quench of the tunneling. At low energy, the absorption spectrum is dominated by a power-law singularity. The correspondi…
We consider a resonant level coupled to a chiral Luttinger liquid which can be realized, e.g., at a fractional quantum Hall edge. We study the dependence of the occupation probability n of the level on its energy εfor various values of the Luttinger-liquid parameter g. At g<1/2 a weakly coupled level shows a sharp jump in n(ε) at the Fermi level. As the coupling is increased, the magnitude of the jump decreases until \sqrt{2g}, and then the discontinuity in n(ε) disappears. We show that n(ε) can be expressed in terms of the magnetization of a Kondo impurity as a function of magnetic field.
We study a quantum point contact in a quantum spin Hall insulator. It has recently been shown that the Luttinger liquid theory of such a structure maps to the theory of a weak link in a Luttinger liquid with spin with Luttinger liquid parameters g_ρ= 1/g_σ= g < 1. We show that for 1/2<g<1, the pinch-off of the point contact as a function of gate voltage is controlled by a novel quantum critical point, related to a nontrivial intermediate fixed point found previously in the Luttinger liquid model. We predict that the dependence of the conductance on gate voltage and temperature near the pinch-o…
The quantum Hall phase diagram of the half-filled bilayer system in the second Landau level is studied as a function of tunneling and layer separation using exact diagonalization. We make the striking prediction that bilayer structures would manifest two distinct branches of incompressible fractional quantum Hall effect (FQHE) corresponding to the Abelian 331 state (at moderate to low tunneling and large layer separation) and the non-Abelian Pfaffian state (at large tunneling and small layer separation). The observation of these two FQHE branches and the quantum phase transition between them w…
We propose a three terminal spin polarized stm setup for probing the helical nature of the Luttinger liquid edge state that appears in the quantum spin Hall system. We show that the three-terminal tunneling conductance strongly depends on the angle ($θ$) between the magnetization direction of the tip and the local orientation of the electron spin on the edge while the two terminal conductance is independent of this angle. We demonstrate that chiral injection of an electron into the helical Luttinger liquid (which occurs when $θ$ is zero or $π$) is associated with fractionalization of the spin …
A quantum Hall line junction system consists of a one-dimensional Luttinger liquid (LL) and two chiral channels that allow density waves incident upon and reflected by the LL to be measured separately. We demonstrate that interactions in a quantum Hall line junction system can be probed by studying edge magnetoplasmon absorption spectra and their polarization dependences. Strong interactions in the junction lead to collective modes that are isolated in either Luttinger liquid or contact subsystems.
We demonstrate that an undoped two-dimensional carbon plane (graphene) whose bulk is in the integer quantum Hall regime supports a non-chiral Luttinger liquid at an armchair edge. This behavior arises due to the unusual dispersion of the non-interacting edges states, causing a crossing of bands with different valley and spin indices at the edge. We demonstrate that this stabilizes a domain wall structure with a spontaneously ordered phase degree of freedom. This coherent domain wall supports gapless charged excitations, and has a power law tunneling $I-V$ with a non-integral exponent. In proxi…
We present a new class of non-abelian spin-singlet quantum Hall states, generalizing Halperin's abelian spin-singlet states and the Read-Rezayi non-abelian quantum Hall states for spin-polarized electrons. We label the states by (k,M) with M odd (even) for fermionic (bosonic) states, and find a filling fraction $ν=2k/(2kM+3)$. The states with M=0 are bosonic spin-singlet states characterized by an SU(3)_k symmetry. We explain how an effective Landau-Ginzburg theory for the SU(3)_2 state can be constructed. In general, the quasi-particles over these new quantum Hall states carry spin, fractiona…
We show in this paper that thermopower is enhanced in non-Abelian quantum Hall liquids under appropriate conditions. This is because thermopower measures entropy per electron in the clean limit, while the degeneracy and entropy associated with non-Abelian quasiparticles enhance entropy when they are present. Thus thermopower can potentially probe non-Abelian nature of the quasiparticles, and measure their quantum dimension.
We present experimental results on the tunneling into the edge of a two dimensional electron gas (2DEG) obtained with a GaAs/AlGaAs cleaved edge overgrown structure in a strong perpendicular magnetic field. While the 2DEG exhibits typical fractional quantum Hall features of a very high mobility sample, we observe the onset of a non-linear current-voltage characteristic in the vicinity of nu=1. For filling factor nu<1 the system is consistent with a non-Fermi liquid behavior, such as a Luttinger liquid, whereas for nu>1 we observe an Ohmic tunneling resistance between the edge and a three dimen…
We investigate a one-dimensional electron liquid with two point scatterers of different strength. In the presence of electron interactions, the nonlinear conductance is shown to depend on the current direction. The resulting asymmetry of the transport characteristic gives rise to a ratchet effect, i.e., the rectification of a dc current for an applied ac voltage. In the case of strong repulsive interactions, the ratchet current grows in a wide voltage interval with decreasing ac voltage. In the regime of weak interaction the current-voltage curve exhibits oscillatory behavior. Our results appl…
We show that non-abelian quantum Hall states can be identified by experimental measurements of the temperature-dependence of either the electrochemical potential or the orbital magnetization. The predicted signals of non-abelian statistics are within experimental resolution, and can be clearly distinguished from other contributions under realistic circumstances. The proposed measurement technique also has the potential to resolve spin-ordering transitions in low density electronic systems in the Wigner crystal and strongly-interacting Luttinger liquid regimes.
While the internal structure of Abelian topological order is well understood, how to characterize the non-Abelian topological order is an outstanding issue. We propose a distinctive scheme based on the many-body Chern number matrix to characterize non-Abelian multicomponent fractional quantum Hall states. As a concrete example, we study the many-body ground state of two-component bosons at the filling faction $ν=4/3$ in topological flat band models. Utilizing density-matrix renormalization group and exact diagonalization calculations, we demonstrate the emergence of non-Abelian spin-singlet fr…
We investigate tunneling between two spinful Tomonaga-Luttinger liquids (TLLs) realized, e.g., as two crossed nanowires or quantum Hall edge states. When injecting into each TLL one electron of opposite spin, the dc current measured after the crossing differs for singlet, triplet, or product states. This is a striking new non-Fermi liquid feature because the (mean) current in a noninteracting beam splitter is insensitive to spin entanglement. It can be understood in terms of collective excitations subject to spin-charge separation. This behavior may offer an easier alternative to traditional e…
We explore the weak-strong-coupling Bose-Fermi duality in a model of a single-channel integer or fractional quantum Hall edge state with a finite-range interaction. The system is described by a chiral Luttinger liquid with non-linear dispersion of bosonic and fermonic excitations. We use the bosonization, a unitary transformation, and a refermionization to map the system onto that of weakly interacting fermions at low temperature $T$ or weakly interacting bosons at high $T$. We calculate the equilibration rate which is found to scale with temperature as $T^5$ and $T^{14}$ in the high-temperatu…
A large class of fractional quantum Hall (FQH) states can be classified according to their pattern of zeros, which describes the way ideal ground state wave functions go to zero as various clusters of electrons are brought together. In this paper we generalize this approach to classify multilayer FQH states. Such a classification leads to the construction of a class of non-Abelian multilayer FQH states that are closely related to $\hat{g}_k$ parafermion conformal field theories, where $\hat{g}_k$ is an affine simple Lie algebra. We discuss the possibility of some of the simplest of these non-A…
We study the tunable quantum Hall effects in a non-Abelian honeycomb optical lattice which is a many-Dirac-points system. We find that the quantum Hall effects present different features as change as relative strengths of several perturbations. Namely, a gauge-field-dressed next-nearest-neighbor hopping can induce the quantum spin Hall effect and a Zeeman field can induce a so-called quantum anomalous valley Hall effect which includes two copies of quantum Hall states with opposite Chern numbers and counter-propagating edge states. Our study extends the borders of the field of quantum Hall eff…
Among the predicted properties of fractional quantum Hall states are fractionally charged quasiparticles and conducting edge-states described as chiral Luttinger liquids. In a system with a narrow constriction, tunneling of quasi-particles between states at different edges can lead to resistance and to shot noise. The ratio of the shot noise to the backscattered current, in the weak scattering regime, measures the fractional charge of the quasi-particle, which has been confirmed in several experiments. However, the non-linearity of the resistance predicted by the chiral Luttinger liquid theory…
Topological quantum matter is characterized by non-trivial global invariants of the bulk which induce gapless electronic states at its boundaries. A case in point are two-dimensional topological insulators (2D-TI) which host one-dimensional (1D) conducting helical edge states protected by time-reversal symmetry (TRS) against single-particle backscattering (SPB). However, as two-particle scattering is not forbidden by TRS [1], the existence of electronic interactions at the edge and their notoriously strong impact on 1D states may lead to an intriguing interplay between topology and electronic …
We examine the relation between different electronic transport phenomena in a Fabry-Perot interferometer in the fractional quantum Hall regime. In particular, we study the way these phenomena reflect the statistics of quantum Hall quasi-particles. For two series of states we examine, one abelian and one non-abelian, we show that the information that may be obtained from measurements of the lowest order interference pattern in an open Fabry-Perot interferometer is identical to the one that may be obtained from the temperature dependence of Coulomb blockade peaks in a closed interferometer. We a…
We study continuous quantum phase transitions that can occur in bilayer fractional quantum Hall (FQH) systems as the interlayer tunneling and interlayer repulsion are tuned. We introduce a slave-particle gauge theory description of a series of continuous transitions from the (ppq) Abelian bilayer states to a set of non-Abelian FQH states, which we dub the orbifold FQH states, of which the Z4 parafermion (Read-Rezayi) state is a special case. This provides an example in which Z2 electron fractionalization leads to non-Abelian topological phases. The naive "ideal" wave functions and ideal Hamilt…
We consider the fractional quantum Hall effect at the filling factor $ν=4/11$, where two independent experiments have observed a well-developed and quantized Hall plateau. We examine the Abelian state described by the "$4\bar{2}1^{3}$" parton wave function and numerically demonstrate it to be a plausible candidate for the ground state at $ν=4/11$. We work out the low-energy effective theory of the $4\bar{2}1^{3}$ edge and make predictions for experimentally measurable properties of the state.
The electron-electron interaction in the Landau levels of bilayer graphene is markedly different from that of conventional semiconductors such as GaAs. We show that in the zeroth Landau level of bilayer graphene, in the orbital which is dominated by the non-relativistic second Landau level wave function, by tuning the magnetic field a topological quantum phase transition from an Abelian composite fermion to a non-Abelian parton fractional quantum Hall state can be induced at filling factors $1/2, ~2/5$ and $3/7$. The parton states host exotic anyons that can potentially be utilized to store an…
We study the statistics of charge transfer through an impurity in a chiral Luttinger liquid (realized experimentally as a quantum point contact in a fractional quantum Hall edge state device). Taking advantage of the integrability we present a procedure for obtaining the cumulant generating function of the probability distribution to transfer a fixed amount of charge through the constriction. Using this approach we analyze in detail the behaviour of the third cumulant C_3 as a function of applied voltage, temperature and barrier height. We predict that C_3 can be used to measure the fractional…
The recent measurement of a half-integer thermal conductance for the $ν=5/2$ fractional quantum Hall state has confirmed its non-Abelian nature, making the question of the underlying topological order highly intriguing. We analyze the shot noise at the edge of the three most prominent non-Abelian candidate states. We show that the noise scaling with respect to the edge length can, in combination with the thermal conductance, be used to experimentally distinguish between the Pfaffian, anti-Pfaffian, and particle-hole-Pfaffian edge structures.
We examine the quantum phase diagram of the fractional quantum Hall effect (FQHE) in the lowest two Landau levels in half-filled bilayer structures as a function of tunneling strength and layer separation, i.e., we revisit the lowest Landau level filling factor 1/2 bilayer problem and make new predictions involving bilayers in the half-filled second Landau level (i.e., filling factor 5/2). Using numerical exact diagonalization we investigate the important question of whether this system supports a FQHE described by the non-Abelian Moore-Read Pfaffian state in the strong tunneling regime. In th…
We derive a microscopic theory of the composite fermions describing the low-lying edge excitations in the fractional quantum Hall liquid. Using the composite fermion transformation, one finds that the edge states of the $ν=1/m$ system in a disc sample are described by, in one dimensional limit, the Calogero-Sutherland model with other interactions between the composite fermions as perturbations. It is shown that a large class of short-range interactions renormalize only the Fermi velocity while the exponent $g=ν=1/m$ is invariant under the condition of chirality. By taking the sharp edge poten…
Using projective construction, a generalized parton construction, we construct many non-Abelian quantum Hall (QH) states, which include the Pfaffian state at filling fraction $ν=1/2$. The projective construction allows us to calculate the bulk and the edge effective theory for the constructed QH state. We illustrate how to use the bulk effective theory to calculate the ground state degeneracy of non-Abelian QH liquids on torus. We point out that the full description of the effective theory requires both the effective Lagrangian and the definition of electron operators. The latter generates all…
