We studied the low energy motion of particles in the general covariant version of Horava-Lifshitz gravity proposed by Horava and Melby-Thompson. Using a scalar field coupled to gravity according to the minimal substitution recipe proposed by da Silva and taking the geometrical optics limit, we could write an effective relativistic metric for a general solution. As a result, we discovered that the equivalence principle is not in general recovered at low energies, unless the spatial Laplacian of A vanishes. Finally, we analyzed the motion on the spherical symmetric solution proposed by Horava and Melby-Thompson, where we could find its effective line element and compute spin-0 geodesics. Using standard methods we have shown that such an effective metric cannot reproduce Newton's gravity law even in the weak gravitational field approximation.
We present a detailed analysis of the construction of $z=2$ and $z\neq2$ scale invariant Hořava-Lifshitz gravity. The construction procedure is based on the realization of Hořava-Lifshitz gravity as the dynamical Newton-Cartan geometry as well as a non-relativistic tensor calculus in the presence of the scale symmetry. An important consequence of this method is that it provides us the necessary mechanism to distinguish the local scale invariance from the local Schrödinger invariance. Based on this result we discuss the $z=2$ scale invariant Hořava-Lifshitz gravity and the symmetry enhancement …
We quantize the two-dimensional projectable Horava-Lifshitz gravity with a bi-local as well as space-like wormhole interaction. The resulting quantum Hamiltonian coincides with the one obtained through summing over all genus in the string field theory for two-dimensional causal dynamical triangulations. This implies that our wormhole interaction can be interpreted as a splitting or joining interaction of one-dimensional strings.
We show that certain three-dimensional Horava-Lifshitz gravity theories can be written as Chern-Simons gauge theories on various non-relativistic algebras. The algebras are specific extensions of the Bargmann, Newton-Hooke and Schroedinger algebra each of which has the Galilean algebra as a subalgebra. To show this we employ the fact that Horava-Lifshitz gravity corresponds to dynamical Newton-Cartan geometry. In particular, the extended Bargmann (Newton-Hooke) Chern-Simons theory corresponds to projectable Horava-Lifshitz gravity with a local U(1) gauge symmetry without (with) a cosmological …
In this paper we focus on the Halmiton-Jacobi method to determine several thermodynamic quantities such as the temperature, entropy and specific heat of two-dimensional Horava-Lifshitz black holes by using the generalized uncertainty principles (GUP). We also address the product of horizons, mainly concerning the event, Cauchy, cosmological and virtual horizons.
In this paper, we would like to obtain quantum gravity effects by using Hořava-Lifshitz black hole. We consider logarithmic corrected thermodynamics quantities and investigate the effects of logarithmic correction term. Logarithmic correction comes from thermal fluctuation and may be interpreted as quantum loop corrections. As black hole is a gravitational system, hence we can investigate quantum gravity effect. We find such effects on the black hole stability and obtain domain of correction coefficient.
In this paper we address the issue of black hole solutions in (1+1)-dimensional non-projectable Horava-Lifshitz gravity. We consider several models by considering different potentials in the scalar matter sector. We also consider the gravitational collapse of a distribution of pressureless dust filling a region in one-dimensional space. The time of the collapse can be faster or slower depending on the parameter $λ$ of the theory.
We study asymptotically Lifshitz solutions with critical exponent $z \neq 1$ in Horava gravity in three and four spacetime dimensions. For $z=2$ and $z=3/2$, we find a novel class of numerical solutions with regular universal horizon, but are characterized by non-analytic behavior near infinity. In the interior, inside the universal horizon, the unit timelike vector field associated with the preferred time foliation exhibits oscillatory behavior, qualitatively similar to that found earlier in asymptotically flat solutions. For $z>2$ no solutions of this type appear to exist. We comment on pote…
For charged black holes in Horava-Lifshitz gravity, a second order phase transition takes place in extended phase space where the cosmological constant is taken as thermodynamic pressure. We relate the second order nature of phase transition to the fact that the phase transition occurs at a sharp temperature and not over a temperature interval. Once we know the continuity of the first derivatives of the Gibbs free energy, we show that all the Ehrenfest equations are readily satisfied. We study the effect of the perturbation of the cosmological constant as well as the perturbation of the electr…
In this paper we employ the Horava-Lifshitz black holes solutions and obtain the corresponding Hamiltonian. It helps us to take new variables and it will be written by harmonic oscillator form. This leads us to apply non-commutative geometry to the new Hamiltonian and obtain the corresponding Lagrangian. And then, we take some information from Finsler geometry and write the Lagrangian of the different kinds of Horava-Lifshitz black holes. We show that the corresponding Lagrangian in non-commutative and Finsler geometry for above mentioned black holes completely coincidence together with some s…
We study different aspects of the Hořava-Lifshitz inspired Bianchi-II cosmology and its relations with the mixmaster universe model. First, we present exact solutions for a toy model, where only the cubic in spatial curvature terms are present in the action; then we briefly discuss some exotic singularities, which can appear in this toy model. We study also the toy model where only the quadratic in spatial curvature terms are present in the action. We establish relations between our results and those obtained by using the Hamiltonian formalism. Finally, we apply the results obtained by studyin…
