We address the spherical accretion of generic fluids onto black holes. We show that, if the black hole metric satisfies certain conditions, in the presence of a test fluid it is possible to derive a fully relativistic prescription for the black hole mass variation. Although the resulting equation may seem obvious due to a form of it appearing as a step in the derivation of the Schwarzschild metric, this geometrical argument is necessary to fix the added degree of freedom one gets for allowing the mass to vary with time. This result has applications on cosmological accretion models and provides a derivation from first principles to serve as a base to the accretion equations already in use in the literature.
We show that a single imperfect fluid can be used as a source to obtain the generalized McVittie metric as an exact solution to Einstein's equations. The mass parameter in this metric varies with time thanks to a mechanism based on the presence of a temperature gradient. This fully dynamical solution is interpreted as an accreting black hole in an expanding universe if the metric asymptotes to Schwarzschild-de Sitter at temporal infinity. We present a simple but instructive example for the mass function and briefly discuss the structure of the apparent horizons and the past singularity.
We investigate the accretion of test fluids onto regular black holes such as Kehagias-Sfetsos black hole and a regular black hole with Dagum Distribution Function. We analyze the accretion process when different test fluids are falling onto these regular black holes. The accreting fluid is being classified through equation of state according to features of regular black holes. The behavior of fluid flow and the existence of sonic points is being checked for these regular black holes. It is noted that three velocity depends on critical points and equation of state parameter on phase space.
The evolution of the mass of a black hole embedded in a universe filled with dark energy and cold dark matter is calculated in a closed form within a test fluid model in a Schwarzschild metric, taking into account the cosmological evolution of both fluids. The result describes exactly how accretion asymptotically switches from the matter-dominated to the Lambda-dominated regime. For early epochs, the black hole mass increases due to dark matter accretion, and on later epochs the increase in mass stops as dark energy accretion takes over. Thus, the unphysical behaviour of previous analyses is i…
In this work I study the density change along the accretion and wind branches when modified Chaplygin gas is taken to be the accreting fluid. I get a high wind density very near to black hole while a low wind density far from the black hole. In modified Chaplygin gas accretion case a local minima in accretion-density is got which can be detected as the CENBOL.
Super-massive black holes (SMBHs) hosted in active galactic nuclei (AGNs) can be characterized by multi-accreting periods as the attractors interact with the environment during their life-time. These multi-accretion episodes should leave traces in the matter orbiting the attractor. Counterrotating and even misaligned structures orbiting around the SMBHs would be consequences of these episodes. Our task in this work is to consider situations where such accretions occur and to trace their remnants represented by several toroidal accreting fluids, corotating or counterrotating relative to the cen…
We numerically investigate the interior of a four-dimensional, spherically symmetric charged black hole accreting neutral null fluid. Previous study by Marolf and Ori suggested that late infalling observers encounter an effective shock wave as they approach the outgoing portion of the inner horizon. Non-linear perturbations could generate an effective gravitational shock wave, which manifests as a drop of the area coordinate $r$ from inner horizon value $r_{-}$ towards zero in an extremely short proper time duration of the infalling observer. We consider three different scenarios: a) A charged…
We consider the most general static spherically symmetric black hole metric. The accretion of the fluid flow around the Van der Waal's black hole is investigated and we calculate the fluid's four-velocity, the critical point and the speed of sound during the accretion process. We also analyze the nature of the universe's density and the mass of the black hole during accretion of the fluid flow. The density of the fluid flow is also taken into account. We observe that the mass is related to redshift. We compare the accreting power of the Van der Waal's black hole with Schwarzschild black hole f…
We make use of the Lagrangian description of fluid motion to highlight certain features in the context of spacetime geometry as emergent phenomena in fluid systems. By using Lagrangian Perturbation Theory (LPT), we find that if the flow is not barotropic it will not be locally irrotational, and as a result, emergent gravity can not be realised for such flow. Our work gives a new perspective of examining the perturbations in a fluid from a different approach (other than Eulerian approach) which is the way of using Lagrangian Perturbation Theory. We make use of Lagrangian description of motion t…
We use observations of 66 reverberation-measured \Mgii\ quasars (QSOs) in the redshift range $0.36 \leq z \leq 1.686$ -- a subset of the 78 QSOs we previously studied that also have \rfe\ (flux ratio parameter of UV \Feii\ to \Mgii\ that is used as an accretion-rate proxy) measurements -- to simultaneously constrain cosmological model parameters and QSO 2-parameter and 3-parameter radius-luminosity ($R-L$) relation parameters in six different cosmological models. We find that these QSO $R-L$ relation parameters are independent of the assumed cosmological model and so these QSOs are standardiza…
We explore the possibility of jet collisions with accreting tori orbiting around SMBHs. The analysis provides constraints on formation and the observational evidences of the host configurations. We use a GRHD model, investigating the light surfaces contraints in aggregates of misaligned tori orbiting a central static Schwarzschild black hole. Each (toroidal) configuration of the agglomeration is a geometrically thick, pressure supported, perfect fluid torus. Aggregates include proto-jets, the open cusped solutions associated to the geometrically thick tori. Collision emergence and the stabilit…
We investigate the stability criterions for perfect fluid in $f(R)$ theories which is an important generalization of general relativity. Firstly, using Wald's general variation principle, we recast Seifert's work and obtain the dynamical stability criterion. Then using our generalized thermodynamical criterion, we obtain the concrete expressions of the criterion. We show that the dynamical stability criterion is exactly the same as the thermodynamical stability criterion. This result suggests that there is an inherent connection between the thermodynamics and gravity in $f(R)$ theories. It sho…
Here we present a novel classical model to describe the near-inner horizon geometry of a rotating, accreting black hole. The model assumes spacetime is homogeneous and is sourced by radial streams of a collisionless, null fluid, and it predicts that the standard Poisson-Israel mass inflation phenomenon will be interrupted by a Kasner-like collapse toward a spacelike singularity. Such a model is shown to be valid at the inner horizon of astrophysically realistic black holes through comparison to the conformally-separable model, which provides a natural connection of the Kerr metric to a self-si…
We analyzed the effects of a toroidal magnetic field in the formation of several magnetized accretion tori, dubbed as ringed accretion disks (RADs), orbiting around one central Kerr supermassive Black Hole (SMBH) in AGNs, where both corotating and counterotating disks are considered. Constraints on tori formation and emergence of RADs instabilities, accretion onto the central attractor and tori collision emergence, are investigated. The results of this analysis show that the role of the central BH spin-mass ratio, the magnetic field and the relative fluid rotation and tori rotation with respec…
Investigation of general-relativistic spherically symmetric steady accretion of self-gravitating perfect fluid onto compact objects reveals the existence of two weakly accreting regimes. In the first (corresponding to the test fluid approximation) the mass of the central object is much larger than the mass of the accreting fluid; in the second the mass of the fluid dominates. The stability of the solutions belonging to the first regime has been proved by Moncrief. In this work we report the results of a series of numerical studies demonstrating stability of massive solutions, i.e., belonging t…
We consider ringed accretion disks (RADs), representing models of aggregates of corotating and counterrotating toroids orbiting a central Kerr super-massive black hole (SMBH). We comment on system of two-tori governed by the polytropic equation of state and including a toroidal magnetic field. We found the RADs leading function describing the RAD inner structure and governing the distribution of orbiting toroidal structures and the emergence of the (hydro-mechanical) instabilities in the disk. We perform this analysis first in pure hydrodynamical models by considering one-specie perfect fluid …
The entropy principle shows that, for self-gravitating perfect fluid, the Einstein field equations can be derived from the extrema of the total entropy, and the thermodynamical stability criterion are equivalent to the dynamical stability criterion. In this paper, we recast the dynamical criterion for the charged self-gravitating perfect fluid in Einstein-Maxwell theory, and further give the criterion of the star with barotropic condition. In order to obtain the thermodynamical stability criterion, first we get the general formula of the second variation of the total entropy for charged perfec…
Galactic structures are supposed to be formed out of dark matter clustering. Some examples of supermassive black holes in the central regions of high redshift galaxies say that the concerned supermassive black holes have completed their constructions in a time less than it generally should be. To justify such discrepancies, we are forced to model about existences of black hole mimickers and exotic phenomena acting near the supermassive black holes. Motivated by these we study the natures of exotic matters, especially dark energy near the black holes. We choose modified Chaplygin gas as dark en…
Consistency relations involving the soft limit of the (n + 1)-correlator functions of dark matter and galaxy overdensities can be obtained, both in real and redshift space, thanks to the symmetries enjoyed by the Newtonian equations of motion describing the dark matter and galaxy fluids coupled through gravity. We study the implications of such symmetries for the theory of galaxy bias and for the theories of modified gravity. We find that the invariance of the fluid equations under a coordinate transformation that induces a long-wavelength velocity constrain the bias to depend only on a set of…
We study the symmetries enjoyed by the Newtonian equations of motion of the non-relativistic dark matter fluid coupled to gravity which give rise to the phenomenon of gravitational instability. We also discuss some consistency relations involving the soft limit of the (n + 1)-correlator functions of matter and galaxy overdensities.
Motivated by the viscosity bound in gauge/gravity duality, we consider the ratio of shear viscosity (eta) to entropy density (s) in black hole accretion flows. We use both an ideal gas equation of state and the QCD equation of state obtained from lattice for the fluid accreting onto a Kerr black hole. The QCD equation of state is considered since the temperature of accreting matter is expected to approach 10^{12}K in certain hot flows. We find that in both the cases eta/s is small only for primordial black holes and several orders of magnitude larger than any known fluid for stellar and superm…
We study the symmetries of the post-recombination cosmological magnetohydrodynamical equations which describe the evolution of dark matter, baryons and magnetic fields in a self-consistent way. This is done both at the level of fluid equations and of Vlasov-Poisson-Maxwell equations in phase space. We discuss some consistency relations for the soft limit of the (n + 1)-correlator functions involving magnetic fields and matter overdensities. In particular, we stress that any violation of such consistency relations at equal-time would point towards an inflationary origin of the magnetic field.
In this paper, we explore classes of irrotational-fluid cosmological models in the context of f(R)-gravity in an attempt to put some theoretical and mathematical restrictions on the form of the f(R) gravitational Lagrangian. In particular, we investigate the consistency of linearised dust models for shear-free cases as well as in the limiting cases when either the gravito-magnetic or gravito-elecric components of the Weyl tensor vanish. We also discuss the existence and consistency of classes of non-expanding irrotational spacetimes in f(R)-gravity.
We investigate the potential impact of mass inflation inside black holes on the dynamics of the Universe, considering a recent reformulation of general relativity, proposed in [1], which prevents the vacuum energy from acting as a gravitational source. The interior dynamics of accreting black holes is studied, at the classical level, using the homogeneous approximation and taking charge as a surrogate for angular momentum. We show that, depending on the accreting fluid properties, mass inflation inside black holes could influence the value of the cosmological constant and thus the dynamics of …
The two main processes of black hole formation are: one, collapse of a matter cloud under its own gravity and the other is accretion of matter onto an already existing gravitating centre. The necessary condition for both the processes to operate is that overall force on collapsing fluid element or on test accreting particles is attractive. It turns out that this is not the case in general in higher dimensions greater than the usual four for collapsing or accreting matter having non-zero angular momentum. Thus both these processes cannot operate in higher dimensions to form a rotating black hol…
Non-existence of self-similar solutions containing a black hole in a universe with a stiff fluid or scalar field or quintessence
We study models with a generalized inhomogeneous equation of state fluids, in the context of singular inflation, focusing to so-called Type IV singular evolution. In the simplest case, this cosmological fluid is described by an equation of state with constant $w$, and therefore a direct modification of this constant $w$ fluid, is achieved by using a generalized form of an equation of state. We investigate from which models with generalized phenomenological equation of state, a Type IV singular inflation can be generated and what the phenomenological implications of this singularity would be. W…
We calculate analytically a back reaction of the stationary spherical accretion flow near the event horizon and near the inner Cauchy horizon of the charged black hole. It is shown that corresponding back-reaction corrections to the black hole metric depend only on the fluid accretion rate and diverge in the case of an extremely charged black hole. In result, the test fluid approximation for stationary accretion is violated for extreme black holes. This behavior of the accreting black hole is in accordance with the third law of black hole thermodynamics, forbidding the practical attainability …

The transonic phenomenon of black hole accretion and the existence of the photon sphere are the characteristics of strong gravitational fields near a black hole horizon. In this work, we study spherical accretion flow onto a general parametrized spherically symmetric black hole spacetimes. For this purpose, we analyze the accretion process of various perfect fluids, such as the isothermal fluid of ultra-stiff, ultra-relativistic, and sub-relativistic types and polytropic fluid, respectively. The influences of extra parameters beyond the Schwarzschild black hole in the general parameterized sph…

We re-examine the quantum geometrodynamical approach within the Eddington-inspired-Born-Infeld theory of gravity, which was first proposed in our previous work [1]. A thorough analysis of the classical Hamiltonian with constraints is carried and the correctness and self-consistency of the modified Wheeler-DeWitt equation (WDW) is studied. We find that based on the newly obtained WDW equation derived with the use of the Dirac brackets, the conclusion reached in Ref.[1] can be corroborated. The big rip singularity present in the classical theory, and induced by a phantom perfect fluid, is expect…
Using holographic-fluid techniques, we discuss some aspects of the integrability properties of Einstein's equations in asymptotically anti-de Sitter spacetimes. We review and we amend the results of 1506.04813 on how exact four-dimensional Einstein spacetimes, which are algebraically special with respect to Petrov's classification, can be reconstructed from boundary data: this is possible if the boundary metric supports a traceless, symmetric and conserved complex rank-two tensor, which is related to the boundary Cotton and energy-momentum tensors, and if the hydrodynamic congruence is shearle…
Motivated by some earlier works \cite{pavon,sadjadi} dealing with the study of generalized second law (GSL) of thermodynamics for a system comprising of a Schwarzschild black accreting a test non-self-gravitating fluid namely phantom energy in FRW universe, we extend them when the entropy of horizons of black hole and the cosmological undergo quantum corrections. Two types of such corrections are relevant here including logarithmic and power-law, while both are motivated from different theoretical backgrounds. We obtain general mathematical conditions for the validity of GSL in each case. Furt…
Thermodynamics, thermodynamic geometry, and the shadow of a Bardeen black hole surrounded by a Kiselev fluid: the role of regularity, asymptotics, and observational self-consistency
When a black hole is accreting well below the Eddington rate, a geometrically thick, radiatively inefficient state of the accretion disk is established. There is a limited number of closed-form physical solutions for geometrically thick (non-selfgravitating) toroidal equilibria of perfect fluids orbiting a spinning black hole, and these are predominantly used as initial conditions for simulations of accretion in the aforementioned mode. However, different initial configurations might lead to different results and thus observational predictions drawn from such simulations. We expand the known e…
In recent past, the progresses in accretion studies onto relativistically gravitating central objects like a Schwarzschild singularity reveal that the accretion flow must be transonic. For such cases, the radial inward speed gradient can be written as a numerator by denominator form among which the later vanishes somewhere in between infinite distance from the attracter to the event horizon of the same. For sustainability of a physical solutions, the numerator should vanish at the same radial distance where denominator does vanish. From this point, we obtain a second degree first order differe…
