Exact solution to many problems in mathematical physics and quantum field theory often can be expressed in terms of an algebraic curve equipped with a meromorphic differential. Typically, the geometry of the curve can be seen most clearly in a suitable semi-classical limit, as $\hbar \to 0$, and becomes non-commutative or "quantum" away from this limit. For a classical curve defined by the zero locus of a polynomial $A(x,y)$, we provide a construction of its non-commutative counterpart $\hat{A} (\hat x, \hat y)$ using the technique of the topological recursion. This leads to a powerful and systematic algorithm for computing $\hat{A}$ that, surprisingly, turns out to be much simpler than any of the existent methods. In particular, as a bonus feature of our approach comes a curious observation that, for all curves that come from knots or topological strings, their non-commutative counterparts can be determined just from the first few steps of the topological recursion. We also propose a K-theory criterion for a curve to be "quantizable," and then apply our construction to many examples that come from applications to knots, strings, instantons, and random matrices.
We construct quantum deformations of the integrals of motion of the generalized mKdV equations for $\hat {\SL}_2$. For this, we give the relevant vertex operator algebra and prove quantum Serre relations for vertex operators, it allows to construct a $q$-BGG resolution and to deform the classical integrals of motion in a commutativ family.
Operator quantization of the WZNW theory invariant with respect to an affine Kac-Moody algebra $\hat g$ with constrained $\hat {u}(1)^d$ currents is performed using Dirac's procedure. Upon quantization the initial energy-momentum tensor is replaced by the $g/u(1)^d$ coset construction. The $\hat {su}(2)$ WZNW theory with a constrained $\hat u(1)$ current is equivalent to the $su(2)/u(1)$ conformal field theory.
The principle of invariance of the c-number symmetric bracket is used to derive both the quantum operator commutator relation $[\hat q, \hat p]=i\hbar$ and the time-dependent Schrödinger equation. A c-number dynamical equation is found which leads to the second quantized field theory of bosons and fermions.
New approach to quantization of the relativistic Majorana field is presented. It is based on expansion of the field into eigenfunctions of the axial momentum -- a novel observable introduced recently. Relativistic invariance is used as the main guiding principle instead of canonical formalism. Hidden structure of the quantized Majorana field in the form of real Clifford algebra of Hermitian fermionic operators is unveiled. Generators of the Poincaré transformations in the Fock space are found as solutions of certain operator equations, without invoking the principle of correspondence with clas…
Heisenberg nonperturbative quantization technique for quantum chromodynamics is applied. In such approach the nonperturbative quantization is based on Yang - Mills equations applied for the quantum field operator $\hat A^B_μ$. It is shown that such equation is equivalent to an infinite equations set for all Green functions. Various approximate methods for solving the infinite equations set are discussed.
The infinite affine Lie algebras of type ABCD, also called $\widehat{\mathfrak{gl}}(\infty)$, $\widehat{\mathfrak{o}}(\infty)$, $\widehat{\mathfrak{sp}}(\infty)$, are equivalent to subalgebras of the quantum $W_{1+\infty}$ algebras. They have well-known representations on the Fock space of either a Dirac fermion ($\hat A_\infty$), a Majorana fermion ($\hat B_\infty$ and $\hat D_\infty$) or a symplectic boson ($\hat C_\infty$). Explicit formulas for the action of the quantum $W_{1+\infty}$ subalgebras on the Fock states are proposed for each representation. These formulas are the equivalent of …
The generalized volume conjecture relates asymptotic behavior of the colored Jones polynomials to objects naturally defined on an algebraic curve, the zero locus of the A-polynomial $A(x,y)$. Another "family version" of the volume conjecture depends on a quantization parameter, usually denoted $q$ or $\hbar$; this quantum volume conjecture (also known as the AJ-conjecture) can be stated in a form of a q-difference equation that annihilates the colored Jones polynomials and $SL(2,\C)$ Chern-Simons partition functions. We propose refinements / categorifications of both conjectures that include a…
The paper is devoted to quantization of polynomial momentum observables in the cotangent bundle of a smooth manifold. A quantization procedure is proposed allowing to quantize a wide class of functions which are polynomials of any order in momenta. In the last part of the paper the quantum mechanics of scalar particle in curved space-time is studied with the use of proposed approach.
We review quantization of gauge fields using algebraic properties of 3-regular graphs. We derive the Feynman integrand at n loops for a non-abelian gauge theory quantized in a covariant gauge from scalar integrands for connected 3-regular graphs, obtained from the two Symanzik polynomials. The transition to the full gauge theory amplitude is obtained by the use of a third, new, graph polynomial, the corolla polynomial. This implies effectively a covariant quantization without ghosts, where all the relevant signs of the ghost sector are incorporated in a double complex furnished by the corolla …
We re-examine the quantization of a class of non-polynomial scalar field theories which interpolates continuously from a free one to $ϕ^4$ theory. The quantization of such theories is problematic because the Feynman rules may not be directly obtained. We give a means for calculating the correlation functions in this theory. The Feynman rules developed here shall enable further progress in the understanding of the triviality of $ϕ^4$ theory in four dimensions.
We establish the precise relation between the Nekrasov-Shatashvili (NS) quantization scheme and Grassi-Hatsuda-Marino conjecture for the mirror curve of arbitrary toric Calabi-Yau threefold. For a mirror curve of genus $g$, the NS quantization scheme leads to $g$ quantization conditions for the corresponding integrable system. The exact NS quantization conditions enjoy a self S-duality with respect to Planck constant $\hbar$ and can be derived from the Lockhart-Vafa partition function of nonperturbative topological string. Based on a recent observation on the correspondence between spectral th…
We introduce a family of relativistic non-rigid non-inertial frames as a gauge fixing of the description of N positive energy particles in the framework of parametrized Minkowski theories. Then we define a multi-temporal quantization scheme in which the particles are quantized, but not the gauge variables describing the non-inertial frames: {\it they are considered as c-number generalized times}. We study the coupled Schroedinger-like equations produced by the first class constraints and we show that there is {\it a physical scalar product independent both from time and generalized times and a…
We construct the fusion ring of a quasi-rational $\hat{sl}(4)_k$ WZNW theory at generic level $k \not\in Q$. It is generated by commutative elements in the group ring $Z[\tilde{W}]$ of the affine Weyl group $\tilde{W}$ which extend polynomially the formal characters of finite dimensional representations of $sl(4)$.
Quantum mechanics with a generalized uncertainty principle arises through a representation of the commutator $[\hat{x}, \hat{p}] = i f(\hat{p})$. We apply this deformed quantization to free scalar field theory for $f_\pm =1\pm βp^2$. The resulting quantum field theories have a rich fine scale structure. For small wavelength modes, the Green's function for $f_+$ exhibits a remarkable transition from Lorentz to Galilean invariance, whereas for $f_-$ such modes effectively do not propagate. For both cases Lorentz invariance is recovered at long wavelengths.
Invariant functions under the transformations of a compact linear group $G$ acting in $\real^n$ can be expressed in terms of functions defined in the orbit space of $G$. We develop a method to determine the isotropy classes of the orbit spaces of all the real linear groups whose integrity bases (IB) satisfy only one independent relation. The method is tested for IB's formed by 3 (independent) basic invariants. The result is obtained through a metric matrix $\hat P(p)$, defined only from the scalar products between the gradients of a minimal IB. We determine the matrices $\wP(p)$ from a univers…
We propose a new realization of the elliptic quantum group equipped with the H-Hopf algebroid structure on the basis of the elliptic algebra U_{q,p}(\hat{sl}_2). The algebra U_{q,p}(\hat{sl}_2) has a constructive definition in terms of the Drinfeld generators of the quantum affine algebra U_q(\hat{sl}_2) and a Heisenberg algebra. This yields a systematic construction of both finite and infinite-dimensional dynamical representations and their parallel structures to U_q(\hat{sl}_2). In particular we give a classification theorem of the finite-dimensional irreducible pseudo-highest weight represe…
Obtaining a closed-form expression for the colored HOMFLY-PT polynomials of knots from $3$-strand braids carrying arbitrary $SU(N)$ representation is a challenging problem. In this paper, we confine our interest to twisted generalized hybrid weaving knots which we denote hereafter by $\hat{Q}_3(m_1,-m_2,n,\ell)$. This family of knots not only generalizes the well-known class of weaving knots but also contains an infinite family of quasi-alternating knots. Interestingly, we obtain a closed-form expression for the HOMFLY-PT polynomial of $\hat{Q}_3(m_1,-m_2,n,\ell)$ using a modified version of t…
In this work we give a deformation theoretical approach to the problem of quantization. First the notion of a deformation of a noncommutative ringed space over a commutative locally ringed space is introduced within a language coming from Algebraic Geometry and Complex Analysis. Then we define what a Dirac quantization of a commutative ringed space with a Poisson structure, the space of classical observables, is. Afterwards the normal order quantization of the Poisson space of classical polynomial observables on a cotangent bundle is constructed. By using a complete symbol calculus on manifold…
