In the framework of fractional stochastic calculus, we study the existence and the uniqueness of the solution for a backward stochastic differential equation, formally written as: [{[c]{l}% -dY(t)= f(t,η(t),Y(t),Z(t))dt-Z(t)δB^{H}(t), \quad t\in[0,T], Y(T)=ξ,.] where $η$ is a stochastic process given by $η(t)=η(0) +\int_{0}^{t}σ(s) δB^{H}(s)$, $t\in[0,T]$, and $B^{H}$ is a fractional Brownian motion with Hurst parameter greater than 1/2. The stochastic integral used in above equation is the divergence-type integral. Based on Hu and Peng's paper, \textit{BDSEs driven by fBm}, SIAM J Control Optim. (2009), we develop a rigorous approach for this equation. Moreover, we study the existence of the solution for the multivalued backward stochastic differential equation [{[c]{l} -dY(t)+\partialφ(Y(t))dt\ni f(t,η(t),Y(t),Z(t))dt-Z(t)δB^{H}(t),\quad t\in[0,T], Y(T)=ξ,.] where $\partialφ$ is a multivalued operator of subdifferential type associated with the convex function $φ$.
On nonlinear Feynman-Kac formulas for viscosity solutions of semilinear parabolic partial differential equations with gradient-dependent nonlinearities
The work concerns a type of backward multivalued McKean-Vlasov stochastic differential equations. First, we prove the existence and uniqueness of solutions for backward multivalued McKean-Vlasov stochastic differential equations. Then, it is presented that their solutions depend continuously on the terminal values. Finally, we give a probabilistic interpretation for viscosity solutions of nonlocal quasi-linear parabolic variational inequalities.
In this article we derive Talagrand's $T_2$ inequality on the path space w.r.t. the maximum norm for various stochastic processes, including solutions of one-dimensional stochastic differential equations with measurable drifts, backward stochastic differential equations, and the value process of optimal stopping problems. The proofs do not make use of the Girsanov method, but of pathwise arguments. These are used to show that all our processes of interest are Lipschitz transformations of processes which are known to satisfy desired functional inequalities.
We consider a class of backward stochastic differential equations (BSDEs) driven by Brownian motion and Poisson random measure, and subject to constraints on the jump component. We prove the existence and uniqueness of the minimal solution for the BSDEs by using a penalization approach. Moreover, we show that under mild conditions the minimal solutions to these constrained BSDEs can be characterized as the unique viscosity solution of quasi-variational inequalities (QVIs), which leads to a probabilistic representation for solutions to QVIs. Such a representation in particular gives a new stoch…
The aim of this paper is to study, in the infinite dimensional framework, the existence and uniqueness for the solution of the following multivalued generalized backward stochastic differential equation, considered on a random, possibly infinite, time interval: \[\cases{\displaystyle -\mathrm{d}Y_t+\partial_yΨ(t,Y_t)\,\mathrm{d}Q_t\niΦ(t,Y_t,Z_t)\,\mathrm{d}Q_t-Z_t\,\mathrm{d}W_t,\qquad 0\leq t<τ,\cr \displaystyle{Y_τ=η,}}\] where $τ$ is a stopping time, $Q$ is a progressively measurable increasing continuous stochastic process and $\partial_yΨ$ is the subdifferential of the convex lower semic…
The paper deals with the existence and uniqueness of the solution of the backward stochastic variational inequality: \begin{equation} \left\{\begin{array} {l}-dY_{t}+\partial φ(Y_{t})dt \ni F(t,Y_{t},Z_{t})dt-Z_{t}dB_{t},\;0\leq t<T \\ Y_{T}=η, \end{array} \right.\end{equation} where $F$ satisfies a local boundedness condition.
In this paper, we deal with a class of mean-field backward stochastic differential equations with subdifferrential operator corresponding to a lower semi-continuous convex function. By means of Yosida approximation, the existence and uniqueness of the solution is established. As an application, we give a probability interpretation for the viscosity solutions of a class of nonlocal parabolic variational inequalities.
The paper is concerned with adapted solution of a multi-dimensional BSDE with a "diagonally" quadratic generator, the quadratic part of whose $i$th component only depends on the $i$th row of the second unknown variable. Local and global solutions are given. In our proofs, it is natural and crucial to apply both John-Nirenberg and reverse Hölder inequalities for BMO martingales.
In this paper, a class of generalized backward doubly stochastic differential equations whose coefficient contains the subdifferential operators of two convex functions (also called generalized backward doubly stochastic variational inequalities) are considered. By means of a penalization argument based on Yosida approximation, we establish the existence and uniqueness of the solution. As an application, this result is used to derive existence result of stochastic viscosity solution for a class of multivalued stochastic Dirichlet-Neumann problems.
In this paper, we study systems of nonlinear second-order variational inequalities with interconnected bilateral obstacles with non-local terms. They are of min-max and max-min types and related to a multiple modes zero-sum switching game in the jump-diffusion model. Using systems of penalized reflected backward SDEs with jumps and unilateral interconnected obstacles, and their associated deterministic functions, we construct for each system a continuous viscosity solution which is unique in the class of functions with polynomial growth.
In this paper, we study the relation between the smallest $g$-supersolution of constraint backward stochastic differential equation and viscosity solution of constraint semilineare parabolic PDE, i.e. variation inequalities. And we get an existence result of variation inequalities via constraint BSDE, and prove a uniqueness result under certain condition.
In this paper, we study the existence of random periodic solutions for semilinear stochastic differential equations. We identify these as the solutions of coupled forward-backward infinite horizon stochastic integral equations in general cases. We then use the argument of the relative compactness of Wiener-Sobolev spaces in $C^0([0, T], L^2(Ω))$ and generalized Schauder's fixed point theorem to prove the existence of a solution of the coupled stochastic forward-backward infinite horizon integral equations. The condition on $F$ is then further weakened by applying the coupling method of forward…
We consider quasi-variational inequalities (QVIs) with general non-local drivers and related systems of reflected backward stochastic differential equations (BSDEs) in a Brownian filtration. We show existence and uniqueness of viscosity solutions to the QVIs by first considering the standard (local) setting and then applying a contraction argument. In addition, the contraction argument yields existence and uniqueness of solutions to the related systems of reflected BSDEs and extends the theory of probabilistic representations of PDEs in terms of BSDEs to our specific setting.
This paper studies a system of $m$ variational inequalities with interconnected obstacles in infinite horizon associated to optimal multi-modes switching problems. Our main result is the existence and uniqueness of a continuous solution in viscosity sense, for that system. The proof of the main result strongly relies on the connection between the systems of variational inequalities and reflected backward stochastic differential equations (RBSDEs) with oblique reflection, which will be characterized through a Feynman-Kac's formula. The main feature of our system of infinite horizon RBSDEs is th…
This paper develops a theory of propagation of chaos for a system of weakly interacting particles whose terminal configuration is fixed as opposed to the initial configuration as customary. Such systems are modeled by backward stochastic differential equations. Under standard assumptions on the coefficients of the equations, we prove propagation of chaos results and quantitative estimates on the rate of convergence in Wasserstein distance of the empirical measure of the interacting system to the law of a McKean-Vlasov type equation. These results are accompanied by non-asymptotic concentration…
This paper is concerned with solution in Hölder spaces of the Cauchy problem for linear and semi-linear backward stochastic partial differential equations (BSPDEs) of super-parabolic type. The pair of unknown variables are viewed as deterministic spatial functionals which take values in Banach spaces of random (vector) processes. We define suitable functional Hölder spaces for them and give some inequalities among these Hölder norms. The existence, uniqueness as well as the regularity of solutions are proved for BSPDEs, which contain new assertions even on deterministic PDEs.
We propose new machine learning schemes for solving high dimensional nonlinear partial differential equations (PDEs). Relying on the classical backward stochastic differential equation (BSDE) representation of PDEs, our algorithms estimate simultaneously the solution and its gradient by deep neural networks. These approximations are performed at each time step from the minimization of loss functions defined recursively by backward induction. The methodology is extended to variational inequalities arising in optimal stopping problems. We analyze the convergence of the deep learning schemes and …
We introduce a new class of reflected backward stochastic differential equations with two càdlàg barriers, which need not satisfy any separation conditions. For that reason, in general, the solutions are not semimartingales. We prove existence, uniqueness and approximation results for solutions of equations defined on general filtered probability spaces. Applications to Dynkin games and variational inequalities, both stationary and evolutionary, are given.
In this paper, we study a multi-dimensional backward stochastic differential equation (BSDE) with oblique reflection, which is a BSDE reflected on the boundary of a special unbounded convex domain along an oblique direction, and which arises naturally in the study of optimal switching problem. The existence of the adapted solution is obtained by the penalization method, the monotone convergence, and the a priori estimations. The uniqueness is obtained by a verification method (the first component of any adapted solution is shown to be the vector value of a switching problem for BSDEs). As appl…
We study a class of reflected backward stochastic differential equations with nonpositive jumps and upper barrier. Existence and uniqueness of a minimal solution is proved by a double penalization approach under regularity assumptions on the obstacle. In a suitable regime switching diffusion framework, we show the connection between our class of BSDEs and fully nonlinear variational inequalities. Our BSDE representation provides in particular a Feynman-Kac type formula for PDEs associated to general zero-sum stochastic differential controller-and-stopper games, where control affect both drift …
This paper is dedicated to the analysis of backward stochastic differential equations (BSDEs) with jumps, subject to an additional global constraint involving all the components of the solution. We study the existence and uniqueness of a minimal solution for these so-called constrained BSDEs with jumps via a penalization procedure. This new type of BSDE offers a nice and practical unifying framework to the notions of constrained BSDEs presented in [19] and BSDEs with constrained jumps introduced in [14]. More remarkably, the solution of a multidimensional Brownian reflected BSDE studied in [11…
The article presents a novel variational calculus to analyze the stability and the propagation of chaos properties of nonlinear and interacting diffusions. This differential methodology combines gradient flow estimates with backward stochastic interpolations, Lyapunov linearization techniques as well as spectral theory. This framework applies to a large class of stochastic models including non homogeneous diffusions, as well as stochastic processes evolving on differentiable manifolds, such as constraint-type embedded manifolds on Euclidian spaces and manifolds equipped with some Riemannian me…
