In minimal trinification models light neutrino masses can be generated via a radiative see-saw mechanism, where the masses of the right-handed neutrinos originate from loops involving Higgs and fermion fields at the unification scale. This mechanism is absent in models aiming at solving or ameliorating the hierarchy problem, such as low-energy supersymmetry, since the large seesaw-scale disappears. In this case, neutrino masses need to be generated via a TeV-scale mechanism. In this paper, we investigate an inverse seesaw mechanism and discuss some phenomenological consequences.
We realize a supersymmetric trinification model with three families of $({\bf 27}_{\rm tri}+{\bf 27}_{\rm tri} +\bar{\bf 27}_{\rm tri})$ by the $Z_3$ orbifold compactification with two Wilson lines. It is possible to break the trinification group to the supersymmetric standard model. This model has several interesting features: the {\it hypercharge quantization}, $\sin^2θ_W^0=\frac38,$ naturally light neutrino masses, and introduction of R-parity. The {\it hypercharge quantization} is realized by the choice of the vacuum, naturally leading toward a supersymmetric standard model.
We propose a model which unifies the Left-Right symmetry with the $SU(3)_L$ gauge group, called flipped trinification, and based on the $SU(3)_C\otimes SU(3)_L\otimes SU(3)_R\otimes U(1)_X$ gauge group. The model inherits the interesting features of both symmetries while elegantly explaining the origin of the matter parity, $W_P=(-1)^{3(B-L)+2s}$, and dark matter stability. We develop the details of the spontaneous symmetry breaking mechanism in the model, determining the relevant mass eigenstates, and showing how neutrino masses are easily generated via the seesaw mechanism. Viable dark matte…
We propose a low-scale renormalizable trinification theory that successfully explains the flavor hierarchies and neutrino puzzle in the Standard Model (SM), as well as provides a dark matter candidate and also contains the necessary means for efficient leptogenesis. The proposed theory is based on the trinification $\SU{3}{C}\times \SU{3}{L}\times \SU{3}{R}$ gauge symmetry, which is supplemented with an additional flavor symmetry $\U{X}\times Z_{2}^{(1)} \times Z_{2}^{(2)}$. In the proposed model the top quark and the exotic fermions acquire tree-level masses, whereas the lighter SM charged fe…
We study the low energy implications of a trinification model based on the gauge symmetry $G= SU(3)_c \times SU(3)_L \times SU(3)_R$, without imposing gauge coupling unification. A minimal model requires two Higgs multiplets that reside in the bi-fundamental representation of $G$, and this is shown to be adequate for accommodating the Standard Model (SM) fermion masses and generate, via loop corrections and seesaw mechanism, suitable masses for the heavy neutral leptons as well as the observed SM neutrinos. We estimate a lower bound of around 15 TeV for the masses of the new down-type quarks t…
We construct a $SU(3)^3$ supersymmetric gauge theory with a common gauge coupling g. Spontaneous breaking of this gauge group at a scale $M_X=1.3\times10^{16} $GeV gives naturally rise exactly to the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model $(MSSM)$ and consequently to the experimentally favored values of $sin^2θ_w$ and $α_s$.The gauge hierarchy problem is naturally solved by a missing-partner-type mechanism which works to all orders in the superpotential. The baryon asymmetry can be generated in spite of the (essential) stability of the proton. The solar neutrino puzzle is solved by the MSW mech…
We propose a new kind of inverse seesaw model without any additional symmetries. Instead of the symmetries, we introduce several fermions and bosons with higher $SU(2)_L$ representations. After formulating the Higgs sector and neutrino sector, we show that the cut-off energy, which is valid to our model, is at around TeV scale, by examining behavior of $SU(2)_L$ gauge coupling. Then we show the testability of our model at collider physics.
We propose an inverse seesaw model with large $SU(2)_L$ multiplet fields which realizes natural mass hierarchies among neutral fermions. Here, lighter neutral fermion mass matrices are induced via two suppression mechanisms; one is small vacuum expectation value of $SU(2)_L$ triplet required by rho parameter constraint and the other is generation of Majorana mass term of extra singlet fermions at one-loop level. To realize the loop masses, we impose $Z_2$ symmetry which also guarantees stability of a dark matter candidate. Furthermore, we discuss anomalous magnetic moment and collider physics …
We build a renormalizable theory where the inverse seesaw mechanism explains the pattern of SM fermion masses. To the best of our knowledge, our model corresponds to the first implementation of the inverse seesaw mechanism for the charged fermion sector. In our theory, the inverse seesaw mechanism is implemented at the tree and one-loop levels in order to generate the masses for the second and first families of the SM charged fermions, respectively. The third family of SM charged fermions obtain tree-level masses from the Higgs doublets $ϕ_{1}$ (for the top quark) and $ϕ_{2}$ (for the bottom q…
We describe a model for the scalar sector where all interactions occur either at an ultra-high scale L_U ~ 10^16 - 10^19 GeV or at an intermediate scale L_I=10^9 - 10^11 GeV. The interaction of physics on these two scales results in an SU(2) Higgs condensate at the electroweak (EW) scale, L_EW, through a seesaw-like Higgs mechanism, L_EW ~ (L_I)^2/L_U, while the breaking of the SM SU(2)XU(1) gauge symmetry occurs at the intermediate scale L_I. The EW scale is, therefore, not fundamental but is naturally generated in terms of ultra-high energy phenomena and so the hierarchy problem is alleviate…
We find that minimizing the number of fine tuning relations in non-supersymmetric models can determine the scales at which some gauge symmetries beyond the standard model must break. We show that $SU(2)_R$ and $B-L$ gauge symmetries of the minimal left-right symmetric model must break at a scale $10^{15} GeV$ or higher, determined by the hierarchy problem and small ratios of quark masses, if parameters that break chiral or $μ$-symmetries (and therefore can be naturally small), are not fine-tuned. This provides the $raison \ d'\hat{e}tre$ for the seesaw scale $\sim 10^{15}GeV$ indicated by neut…
In the framework of the seesaw mechanism, and adopting a typical form for the Dirac neutrino mass matrix, we discuss the impact of minimal forms of the Majorana neutrino mass matrix. These matrices contain four or three texture zeros and only two parameters, a scale factor and a hierarchy parameter. Some forms are not compatible with large lepton mixing and are ruled out. Moreover, a normal mass hierarchy for neutrinos is predicted.
We describe a model for the scalar sector where all interactions occur either at an ultra-high scale L_U ~ 10^{16}-10^{19} GeV or at an intermediate scale L_I ~ 10^{9}-10^{11} GeV. The interaction of physics on these two scales results in an SU(2) Higgs condensate at the electroweak (EW) scale, L_{EW}, through a seesaw-like Higgs mechanism, L_{EW} ~ L_I^2/L_U, while the breaking of the SM SU(2)XU(1) gauge symmetry occurs at the intermediate scale L_I. The EW scale is, therefore, not fundamental but is naturally generated in terms of ultra-high energy phenomena and so the hierarchy problem is a…
Very recently a novel implementation of type-II seesaw mechanism for neutrino mass has been proposed in SU(5) grand unified theory with a number of desirable new physical phenomena beyond the standard model.Introducing heavy right-haded neutrinos and extra fermion singlets, in this work we show how the type-I seeaw cancellation mechanism works in this SU(5) framework. Besides predicting verifiable LFV decays, we further show that the model predicts dominant double beta decay with normal hierarchy or inverted hierarchy of active light neutrino masses in concordance with cosmological bound. In a…
We discuss how two birds---the little hierarchy problem of low-scale type-I seesaw models and the search for a viable dark matter candidate---are (proverbially) killed by one stone: a new inert scalar state
We demonstrate that, for every grand unified model based on a conventional type I seesaw mechanism leading to a normal light neutrino mass hierarchy, one can easily generate a corresponding model with an inverted hierarchy which yields the same neutrino oscillation parameters. However, the latter type model has several unattractive instabilities which will disfavor any grand unified type I seesaw model, if an inverted neutrino mass hierarchy is observed experimentally. This should be contrasted with the softly-broken $L_e - L_μ- L_τ$ flavor symmetry models which are eliminated, if the data fav…
The seesaw model of quark masses is studied systematically, focusing on its developments. A framework allowing the top quark mass to be of the order of the electroweak symmetry breaking scale, while the remaining light quarks have much smaller masses, due to the seesaw mechanism, is presented. The violation of the GIM mechanism is shown to be small and the tree level FCNC are suppressed naturally. In this model, there are many particles which could contribute to the FCNC in the one-loop level. Parameters of the model are constrained by using the experimental data on K^0-\bar{K}^0 mixing and ε_…
A nonuniversal abelian extension $\mathrm{U(1)}_{X}$ free from chiral anomalies is introduced into the Standard Model (SM), in order to evaluate its suitability in addressing the fermion mass hierarchy (FMH) by using seesaw mechanisms (SSM). In order to break the electroweak symmetry, three Higgs doublets are introduced, which give mass at tree-level to the top and bottom quarks, and the muon lepton. With an electroweak singlet scalar field, the $U(1)_{X}$ symmetry is broken and the exotic particles acquire masses. The light particles in the SM obtain their masses via SSM and Yukawa couplings …
We present a model based on the $SU(3)_C\otimes SU(3)_L\otimes U(1)_X$ gauge symmetry that relates the mass hierarchy of the fermions with the solution to the strong CP problem through the $U(1)_{PQ}$ Peccei-Quinn symmetry. This last symmetry arises accidentally with the imposition of a discrete $Z_9$ symmetry, which also secludes the different scales in the double seesaw mechanism taking place in the neutrino sector. The symmetry breakdown is performed by three scalar triplets plus a scalar singlet hosting an axion field, whose particle excitation can be a component of dark matter. We show a …
We have studied the contribution of higher order corrections of the flavor symmetry breaking in the $A_4$ seesaw model with the supersymmetry. Taking account of possible higher dimensional mass operators, we predict the deviation from the tri-bimaximal lepton mixing for both normal hierarchy and inverted hierarchy of neutrino masses. We have found that the value of $\sin^2 2θ_{23}$ is larger than 0.96 and the upper bound of $\sin^2θ_{13}$ is 0.01. We have also examined the flavor changing neutral current of leptons from the soft SUSY breaking in slepton masses and A-terms within the framework …
Radiative corrections to neutrino mixing and CP violation are analyzed in the minimal seesaw model with two heavy right-handed neutrinos. We find that textures of the effective Majorana neutrino mass matrix are essentially stable against renormalization effects. Taking account of the Frampton-Glashow-Yanagida ansatz for the Dirac neutrino Yukawa coupling matrix, we calculate the running effects of light neutrino masses, lepton flavor mixing angles and CP-violating phases for both $m_1 =0$ (normal mass hierarchy) and $m_3 =0$ (inverted mass hierarchy) cases in the standard model and in its mini…
We suggest the so-called bosonic seesaw mechanism in the context of a classically conformal $U(1)_{B-L}$ extension of the Standard Model with two Higgs doublet fields. The $U(1)_{B-L}$ symmetry is radiatively broken via the Coleman-Weinberg mechanism, which also generates the mass terms for the two Higgs doublets through quartic Higgs couplings. Their masses are all positive but, nevertheless, the electroweak symmetry breaking is realized by the bosonic seesaw mechanism. Analyzing the renormalization group evolutions for all model couplings, we find that a large hierarchy among the quartic Hig…
The tau lepton plays important role in distinguishing neutrino mass patterns and determining the chirality nature in heavy scalar mediated neutrino mass models, in the light of the neutrino oscillation experiments and its polarization measurement. We investigate the lepton flavor signatures with tau lepton at LHC upgrades, i.e. HL-LHC, HE-LHC and FCC-hh, through leptonic processes from doubly charged Higgs in the Type II Seesaw. We find that for the channel with one tau lepton in final states, the accessible doubly charged Higgs mass at HL-LHC can reach 655 GeV and 695 GeV for the neutrino mas…
We propose a supersymmetric radiative seesaw model with modular $A_4$ symmetry. Thanks to contributions of supersymmetric partners to one-loop diagrams generating neutrino masses, we successfully fit neutrino data and obtain predictions in case of normal hierarchy in a minimal framework that would not be realized in a non-supersymmetric model. We show a several predictive figures and demonstrate a best fit benchmark point through $χ^2$
If the mixing angles in each of the seesaw sectors are all small, and the neutrino masses are hierarchical, we study the conditions for large neutrino mixing using triangular matrices. In particular, the implication of the neutrino oscillation data for the mass hierarchy in the heavy Majorana sector is examined, and the heavy Majorana scales are shown to depend sensitively on the solar mixing angle.
In this paper, we search for conditions that the mass matrix of light neutrinos $m_ν$ is not a result of large cancellations for the type-I seesaw mechanism with four-zero texture. For the Yukawa matrix of neutrinos $Y_ν$ and heavy Majorana mass matrix $M_{R}$, these conditions are written as $(Y_ν)_{i2} \propto (m_ν)_{i2} \, \Rightarrow \, (Y_ν)_{i2} \propto (M_{R})_{i2}$. We call them {\it alignment} conditions because they align the certain rows or columns of the three neutrino mass matrices. If these conditions do not hold, the large mixing in $m_ν$ is a result of fine-tuning due to the ca…
Universal Seesaw Model is a model which explains the mass hierarchy of the quark sector. This model introduces vector-like quarks. The top quark mass is generated in the electroweak scale and the other quark mass is generated using a seesaw-like mechanism. The invariant theory helps construct a weak-basis invariant. We study the weak-basis invariant (WBI) using Hilbert Series (HS) and apply it to the Universal Seesaw Model, particularly the one-generation case of the quark sector.
From the standard seesaw mechanism of neutrino mass generation, which is based on the assumption that the lepton number is violated at a large (~10exp(+15) GeV) scale, follows that the neutrinoless double-beta decay is ruled by the Majorana neutrino mass mechanism. Within this notion, for the inverted neutrino-mass hierarchy we derive allowed ranges of half-lives of the neutrinoless double-beta decay for nuclei of experimental interest with different sets of nuclear matrix elements. The present-day results of the calculation of the neutrinoless double-beta decay nuclear matrix elements are bri…
We discuss the minimal seesaw model for the Dirac CP violating phase of the lepton mixing matrix. We introduce two right-handed Majorana neutrinos and obtain several textures of the tri-maximal lepton mixing matrices. Moreover, we discuss the observed baryon asymmetry of the universe through the leptogenesis mechanism. As the result, we obtain the specific model which predicts the negative sign of maximal Dirac CP violating phase and normal hierarchy of neutrino masses.
A previous short analysis of the seesaw mechanism, based on quark-lepton symmetry, experimental data and hierarchical neutrino spectrum, is enlarged to include small but not zero U_{e3}, inverted mass hierarchy, and the qualitative effect of Majorana phases. The structure of the heavy neutrino mass matrix obtained in several cases is discussed. We find two leading forms for this matrix. One is diagonal and stands at the unification scale or above. The other is off-diagonal and stands at the intermediate scale.
We analyse a flavour model for a lepton sector which is based on type I seesaw mechanism, a Z_2 symmetry for lepton flavours, a mu-tau interchange symmetry and a CP symmetry. This model fits well the data of neutrino mass squared differences and oscillation angles. The model predicts an overall neutrino mass scale for normal and inverted neutrino mass hierarchy and the effective mass m_beta, which is used in the neutrinoless double beta decay.
We construct a model realizing the inverse seesaw mechanism. The model has two types of gauge singlet fermions in addition to right-handed neutrinos. A required Majorana mass scale (keV scale) for generating the light active neutrino mass in the conventional inverse seesaw can be naturally explained by a "seesaw" mechanism between the two singlet fermions in our model. We find that our model can decrease the magnitude of hierarchy among the mass parameters by $\mathcal{O}(10^4)$ from that in the conventional inverse seesaw model. We also show that a successful resonant leptogenesis occurs for …
We estimate the effect of leptonic CP violating phases in the minimal seesaw model with two heavy neutrinos $N$ by imposing the approximately $μ-τ$ symmetry on the model. For $N$ subject to the $μ-τ$ symmetry, we find that neutrinos show the normal mass hierarchy and obtain the general phase structure that contains only two phases which arise from $μ-τ$ symmetry breaking terms. To perform similar consideration for $N$ blind to the $μ-τ$ symmetry necessarily giving the inverted mass hierarchy, we assume the same phase structure. Our phases consist of six phases that need to take care of generic…
We consider theories where the Standard Model (SM) neutrinos acquire masses through the seesaw mechanism at the weak scale. We show that in such a scenario, the requirement that any pre-existing baryon asymmetry, regardless of its origin, not be washed out leads to correlations between the pattern of SM neutrino masses and the spectrum of new particles at the weak scale, leading to definite predictions for the LHC. For type I seesaw models with a TeV scale Z' coupled to SM neutrinos, we find that for a normal neutrino mass hierarchy, at least one of the right-handed neutrinos must be `electrop…
Using radiative correction and seesaw mechanism,we derive analytic formulas for neutrino masses in SUSY unified theories exhibiting, for the first time, a new hierarchial relation among them. The new hierarchy is found to be quite significant especially for smaller values of $\tanβ$.
We discuss a two scalar doublets model which induces the Higgs mechanism by means of a seesaw mechanism. This model naturally predicts a light Higgs scalar whose mass is suppressed by the grand unification scale. The model predicts an intermediate scale between the electroweak symmetry breaking scale and the grand unification scale at $10^9$ GeV. Below this intermediate energy scale the usual standard model appears as an effective theory. A seesaw mechanism in the scalar sector of the model not only induces the standard Higgs mechanism, but also solves the hierarchy problem. An implementation …
We discuss a linear seesaw model with as minimum field content as possible, introducing a modular $S_4$ with the help of gauged $U(1)_{B-L}$ symmetries. Due to rank two neutrino mass matrix, we have a vanishing neutrino mass eigenvalue, and only the normal mass hierarchy of neutrinos is favored through the modular $S_4$ symmetry. In our numerical $Δχ^2$ analysis, we especially find rather sharp prediction on sum of neutrino masses to be around $60$ meV in addition to the other predictions.

We derive the lower bound on the absolute scale of lightest neutrino mass for normal hierarchy and inverted hierarchy pattern of light neutrinos by studying the new physics contributions to charged lepton flavour violations in the framework of a TeV scale left-right symmetric model. In the model, the fermion sector comprises the usual quarks and leptons plus a fermion singlet per generation and the scalar sector consists of isospin doublets, triplets and a bidoublet. The framework allows large light-heavy neutrino mixing where the light neutrino mass formula is governed by a natural type-II se…
The advent of the LHC, and the proposal of building future colliders as the ILC, both programmed to explore new physics at the TeV scale, justifies the recent interest in studying all kind of seesaw mechanisms whose signature lies on such energy scale. The natural candidate for this kind of seesaw mechanism is the inverse one. The conventional inverse seesaw mechanism is implemented in an arrangement involving six new heavy neutrinos in addition to the three standard ones. In this paper we develop the inverse seesaw mechanism based on Higgs triplet model and probe its signature at the LHC and …
We suggest the so-called bosonic seesaw mechanism in the context of a classically conformal $U(1)_{B-L}$ extension of the Standard Model with two Higgs doublet fields. We analyze the renormalization group evolutions for all model couplings, and find that a large hierarchy among the quartic H…
The measured values for the mixture angles in neutrino oscillations suggest the existence of a symmetry of interchange of flavor between muon and tau neutrinos. Using this symmetry we analyzed the minimal seesaw model for neutrino masses, where the Majorana mass was diagonalized, and it is demonstrated that the model supports at most 3 CP violation phases and 5 real masses at high energies. Nevertheless, at low energies, only 4 parameters of mass and one relative Majorana CP phase remain. Therefore using the experimental values of the masses square differences, the mixture angles and the hiera…
We show how the seesaw mechanism for neutrino masses can be realized within a five dimensional (5D) warped geometry framework. Intermediate scale standard model (SM) singlet neutrino masses, needed to explain the atmospheric and solar neutrino oscillations, are shown to be proportional to M_Pl\exp((2c-1)πkR), where c denotes the coefficient of the 5D Dirac mass term for the singlet neutrino which also has a Planck scale Majorana mass localized on the Planck-brane, and kR~11 in order to resolve the gauge hierarchy problem. The case with a bulk 5D Majorana mass term for the singlet neutrino is b…
The neutrino sector of a seesaw-extended Standard Model is investigated under the anarchy hypothesis. The previously derived probability density functions for neutrino masses and mixings, which characterize the type I-III seesaw ensemble of $N\times N$ complex random matrices, are used to extract information on the relevant physical parameters. For $N=2$ and $N=3$, the distributions of the light neutrino masses, as well as the mixing angles and phases, are obtained using numerical integration methods. A systematic comparison with the much simpler type II seesaw ensemble is also performed to po…
We point out that the minimal seesaw model can provide a natural framework to accommodate tiny neutrino masses, while its experimental testability and notable predictiveness are still maintained. This possibility is based on the observation that two heavy right-handed Majorana neutrinos in the minimal seesaw model may naturally emerge as a pseudo-Dirac fermion. In a specific scenario, we show that the tri-bimaximal neutrino mixing can be produced, and only the inverted neutrino mass hierarchy is allowed. The low-energy phenomena, including non-unitarity effects in neutrino oscillations, neutri…
Diverse mass and mixing patterns between the quarks and leptons makes it challenging to construct a simple grand unified theory of flavor. We show that SO(10) SUSY GUTs with type II seesaw mechanism giving neutrino masses provide a natural framework for addressing this issue. A simple ansatz that the dominant Yukawa matrix (the 10-Higgs coupling to matter) has rank one, appears to simultaneously explain both the large lepton mixings as well as the observed quark flavor hierarchy in these models. A testable prediction of this ansatz is the neutrino mixing, U_{e3}, which should be observable in …
Motivated by D-brane scenarios, we consider a non-supersymmetric model based on the gauge symmetry U(3)_CxU(3)_LxU(3)_R$ which is equivalent to the SU(3)^3 ``trinification'' model supplemented by three U(1)s. Two U(1) combinations are anomalous while the third U(1)_Z' is anomaly free and contributes to the hypercharge generator. This hypercharge embedding correspods to sin^2θ_W=6/19 in the case of full gauge coupling unification. The U(3)^3 symmetry is broken down to the Standard Model by vev's of two (1,3,\bar3)- scalar multiplets supplemented by two Higgs fields in (1,3,1) and (1,1,3) repres…
We consider the TeV scale left-right symmetric theory which can accommodate low scale seesaw mechanisms consistent with neutrino oscillation data and find new physics contributions to neutrinoless double beta decay. The model facilitates natural type-II seesaw dominance and the presence of extra particles make the Dirac neutrino mass matrix $M_D$ large that leads to large light heavy neutrino mixing. The spontaneous symmetry breaking through doublets, triplets and bidoublet scalars at TeV scale offers rich phenomenology accessible to LHC. From the numerical studies of the new physics contribut…
We show that all nontrivial CP-violating phases can be determined in terms of three lepton flavor mixing angles and the ratio of $Δm^2_{\rm sun}$ to $Δm^2_{\rm atm}$ in the minimal seesaw model in which the Frampton-Glashow-Yanagida (FGY) ansatz is incorporated. This important point allows us to make very specific predictions for the cosmological baryon number asymmetry and CP violation in neutrino oscillations. A measurement of the smallest neutrino mixing angle will sensitively test the FGY ansatz, in particular in the case that three light neutrinos have a normal mass hierarchy.
We propose a simplified version of the inverse seesaw model, in which only two pairs of the gauge-singlet neutrinos are introduced, to interpret the observed neutrino mass hierarchy and lepton flavor mixing at or below the TeV scale. This minimal inverse seesaw scenario (MISS) is technically natural and experimentally testable. In particular, we show that the effective parameters describing the non-unitary neutrino mixing matrix are strongly correlated in the MISS, and thus, their upper bounds can be constrained by current experimental data in a more restrictive way. The Jarlskog invariants of…
We discuss the leptonic flavor structure generated by a brane shifted extra dimensional seesaw model with a single right handed neutrino in the bulk. In contrast to previous works, no unitarity approximation for the $3 \times 3$ submatrix has been employed. This allows to study phenomenological signatures such as lepton flavor violating decays. A strong prediction of the model, assuming CP conservation, are the ratios of flavor violating charged lepton decay and Z decay branching ratios which are correlated with the neutrino mixing angles and the neutrino mass hierarchy. Furthermore, it is pos…
We discuss the correlation between the CP violating Dirac phase of the lepton mixing matrix and the cosmological baryon asymmetry based on the leptogenesis in the minimal seesaw model with two right-handed Majorana neutrinos and the trimaximal mixing for neutrino flavors. The sign of the CP violating Dirac phase at low energy is fixed by the observed cosmological baryon asymmetry since there is only one phase parameter in the model. According to the recent T2K and NO$ν$A data of the CP violation, the Dirac neutrino mass matrix of our model is fixed only for the normal hierarchy of neutrino mas…
We discuss the seesaw mechanism which includes the minimum number of parameters for successful leptogenesis and three neutrino oscillations in the spirit of Occam's razor. We show that models with two right-handed neutrinos with two texture zeros supported by Occam's razor cannot fit the observed neutrino parameters consistently for the normal light neutrino mass hierarchy. For the inverted light neutrino mass hierarchy, on the other hand, we find that the models can fit the observed neutrino parameters consistently. Besides, we show that the model predicts the maximal Dirac CP-phase of the ne…
We develop an $A_4 \times Z_4 \times Z_2$ symmetry extension of Standard Model under the minimal extended seesaw (MES) mechanism which successfully predicts neutrino masses and mixings patterns. This model breaks $μ-τ$ symmetry of neutrino mass matrix and explains leptonic mixing with non-zero $θ_{13}$. We study the phenomenological results of the keV-scale sterile neutrino as a dark matter candidate along with other phenomenologies such as neutrino oscillation observables, neutrinoless double beta decay, baryogenesis via leptogenesis, etc. Dirac CP-violating phase $δ_{CP}$ and two Majorana ph…
Measurements of disappearance channel of long baseline accelerator based experiments (like NO$ν$A) are inflicted with the problem of octant degeneracy. In these experiments, the mass hierarchy (MH) sensitivity depends upon the value of CP-violating phase $δ_{CP}$. Moreover, MH of light neutrino masses is still not fixed. Also, the flavour structure of fermions is yet not fully understood. We discuss all these issues, in a highly predictive, low-scale inverse seesaw (ISS) model within the framework of $A_4$ flavour symmetry. Recent global analysis has shown a preference for normal hierarchy and…
We study $S_{4}$ flavor symmetric inverse seesaw model which has the possibility of simultaneously addressing neutrino phenomenology, dark matter (DM) and baryon asymmetry of the universe (BAU) through leptogenesis. The model is the extension of the standard model by the addition of two right handed neutrinos and three sterile fermions leading to a keV scale sterile neutrino dark matter and two pairs of quasi-Dirac states. The CP violating decay of the lightest quasi- Dirac pair present in the model generates lepton asymmetry which then converts to baryon asymmetry of the universe. Thus this m…
