A generalization of the Cooper pairing mechanism is proposed which allows for a triplet state of lower energy. This is achieved by incorporating spin into the canonical commutation relations and by modifying the $δ$ potential contact interaction. The gap equation contain as solutions both singlet and triplet states. It is shown that the triplet state is lower in energy than the singlet state which may explain the spin-triplet superconductivity observed in heavy fermion compound UPt3 and in Sr$_2$RuO$_4$.
We study the effect of the magnetic field (Zeeman splitting) on the triplet pairing. We show generally that the enhancement of spin triplet pairing mediated by coexisting $2k_F$ spin and $2k_F$ charge fluctuations can be much larger than in the case of triplet pairing mediated by ferromagnetic spin fluctuations. We propose that this may be related to the recent experiment for (TMTSF)$_2$ClO$_4$, in which a possibility of singlet to triplet pairing transition has been suggested.
A prime category of superconducting materials in which to look for spin-triplet pairing and topological superconductivity are superconductors without inversion symmetry. It is predicted that the breaking of parity symmetry gives rise to an admixture of spin-singlet / spin-triplet pairing states; a triplet pairing component, being substantial, seems all but guaranteed. However, the experimental confirmation of pair mixing in any particular material remains elusive. In this work, we perform phase-sensitive experiment to examine the pairing state of noncentrosymmetric superconductor $α-$BiPd. The…
Quasi-low-dimensional type II superconductors in parallel magnetic fields are studied when singlet pairing interactions and relatively weak triplet pairing interactions coexist. Singlet and triplet components of order parameter are mixed at high fields, and at the same time an inhomogeneous superconducting state called a Fulde-Ferrell-Larkin-Ovchinnikov state occurs. As a result, the triplet pairing interactions enhance the upper critical field of superconductivity remarkably even at temperatures far above the transition temperature of parallel spin pairing. It is found that the enhancement is…
The superconducting state in uranium compounds UGe2, URhGe and UCoGe is formed at temperatures far below the Curie temperature pointing on nonconventional nature of superconductivity in these materials - namely the superconductivity with triplet pairing. The emergence of superconductivity is accompanied by the slight magnetization expulsion typical for the type-II superconductors. Following classic Abrikosov paper I develop the theory of type-II superconductivity in application to two-band ferromagnetic metal with equal spin triplet pairing.
We propose a phase diagram of quasi-low-dimensional type II superconductors in parallel magnetic fields, when antiferromagnetic fluctuations contribute to the pairing interactions. We point out that pairing interactions mediated by antiferromagnetic fluctuations necessarily include both singlet channels and triplet channels as attractive interactions. Usually, a singlet pairing is favored at zero field, but a triplet pairing occurs at high fields where the singlet pairing is suppressed by the Pauli paramagnetic pair-breaking effect. As a result, the critical field increases divergently at low …
Spin-triplet superconductivity is known to be a rare quantum phenomenon. Here we show that nonsymmorphic crystalline symmetries can dramatically assist spin-triplet superconductivity in the presence of spin-orbit coupling. Even with a weak spin-orbit coupling, the spin-triplet pairing can be the leading pairing instability in a lattice with a nonsymmorphic symmetry. The underlining mechanism is the spin-sublattice-momentum lock on electronic bands that are protected by the nonsymmorphic symmetry. We use the nonsymmorphic space group P4/nmm to demonstrate these results and discuss related exper…
We argue that odd-frequency triplet superconductivity can be conveniently realized in hybrid superconductor-ferromagnet (SF) structures with a ferromagnetic vortex. We demonstrate that due to proximity-induced long-range triplet pairing such SFS junctions can sustain appreciable supercurrent which can be directly measured in experiments.
We examine the possibility that the superconductivity in the newly discovered FeAs materials may be caused by the Coulomb interaction between d-electrons of the iron atoms. We find that when the Hund's rule ferromagnetic interaction is strong enough, the leading pairing instability is in spin-triplet p-wave channel in the weak coupling limit. The resulting superconducting gap has nodal lines on the 3D Fermi surfaces. The k dependent hybridization of several orbitals around a Fermi pocket is the key for the appearance of the spin-triplet p-wave pairing.
The coexistence of a homogeneous (Meissner-like) phase of spin-triplet superconductivity and ferromagnetism is investigated within the framework of a phenomenological model of spin-triplet ferromagnetic superconductors. The results are discussed in view of application to metallic ferromagnets as UGe$_2$, ZrZn$_2$, URhGe, and Fe.
Even-parity interorbital spin-triplet pairing emerges as an intriguing candidate in multiorbital superconductors with significant Hund's and spin-orbit coupling. Within such a state, the pairing is dominated by the intraband pseudospin-singlet component via the spin-orbit coupling, distinguishing it from a pure spin triplet and motivating the name, shadowed triplet. With atomic spin-orbit coupling, it was shown that this pairing exhibits an anisotropic $s$-wave character, while higher angular momentum pairing symmetries such as $d$- or $g$-wave have been proposed based on phenomenological anal…
We consider a system with electron-phonon interaction, antiferromagnetic fluctuations and disconnected open Fermi surfaces. The existence of odd-parity superconductivity in this circumstance is shown for the first time. If it is applied to the quasi-one-dimensional systems like the organic conductors (TMTSF)_2X we obtain spin-triplet superconductivity with nodeless gap. Our result is also valid in higher dimensions(2d and 3d).
We analyze various possible superconducting pairing states and their relative stabilities in lightly doped graphene. We show that, when inter-sublattice electron-electron attractive interaction dominates and Fermi level is close to Dirac points, the system will favor intra-valley spin-triplet $p+\mathrm{i}p$ pairing state. Based on the novel pairing state, we further propose a scheme for doing topological quantum computation in graphene by engineering local strain fields and external magnetic fields.
We discuss general implications of the local spin-triplet pairing among fermions induced by local ferromagnetic exchange, example of which is the Hund's rule coupling. The quasiparticle energy and their wave function are determined for the three principal phases with the gap, which is momentum independent. We utilize the Bogolyubov-Nambu-De Gennes approach, which in the case of triplet pairing in the two-band case leads to the four-components wave function. Both gapless modes and those with an isotropic gap appear in the quasiparticle spectrum. A striking analogy with the Dirac equation is bri…
We construct minimum effective models to investigate the pairing symmetry in the newly discovered quasi-one-dimensional superconductor K$_2$Cr$_3$As$_3$. We show that a minimum three-band model based on the $d_{z^2}$, $d_{xy}$ and $d_{x^2-y^2}$ orbitals of one Cr sublattice can capture the band structures near Fermi surfaces. In both weak and strong coupling limits, the standard random phase approximation (RPA) and mean-field solutions consistently yield the triplet $p_z$-wave pairing as the leading pairing symmetry for physically realistic parameters. The triplet pairing is driven by the ferr…
By examining how the spin- and/or charge-fluctuation exchange can contribute to pairing instabilities, we propose that a spin-triplet f-wave-like pairing with a d-vector perpendicular to the b-axis may be realized in (TMTSF)_2 PF_6 due to (i) a quasi-one-dimensional Fermi surface, (ii) a coexistence of 2k_F charge fluctuations and spin fluctuations, and (iii) an anisotropy in spin fluctuations. Fluctuation-exchange study for the Hubbard model confirms the point (i), while a phenomelogical analysis is given for (ii) and (iii). The proposed pairing is consistent with various experiments.
The theory of triplet superconductivity in ferromagnetic metals based on electron-electron interaction by spin fluctuation exchange is developed. The equations for the upper critical field temperature dependence are derived. In contrast to the similar equations for the superconductivity in two band metals they contain the pairing amplitudes and the Fermi velocities depending on magnetic field. The critical field behaviour near the critical temperature and at T = 0 is established analytically.
We report observation of spin triplet superconductivity in epitaxial Bi/Ni bilayers with TC up to 4 K and 2Delta/kBTC = 12. Andreev reflection spectroscopy (ARS) with ballistic injection of unpolarized and spin-polarized electrons conclusively reveals spin triplet p-wave superconductivity. The gap structure measured by ARS in multiple crystal directions shows the ABM (Anderson-Brinkman-Morel) state, the same as that in superfluid 3He.
It is shown that an extra magnetization is induced by an onset of the equal-spin-pairing of spin triplet superconductivity if the energy dependence of the density of states of quasiparticles exists in the normal state. It turns out that the effect is observable in Sr_2RuO_4 due to the existence of van Hove singularity in the density of states near the Fermi level, explaining the extra contribution in the Knight shift reported by Ishida et al. It is also quite non-trivial that this effect exists even without external magnetic field, which implies that the time reversal symmetry is spontaneously…
We investigate the combined effect of Hund's and spin-orbit (SO) coupling on superconductivity in multi-orbital systems. Hund's interaction leads to orbital-singlet spin-triplet superconductivity, where the Cooper pair wave function is antisymmetric under the exchange of two orbitals. We identify three d-vectors describing even-parity orbital-singlet spin-triplet pairings among t2g-orbitals, and find that the three d-vectors are mutually orthogonal to each other. SO coupling further assists pair formation, pins the orientation of the d-vector triad, and induces spin-singlet pairings with a rel…
A mechanism leading to the spin-triplet superconductivity is proposed based on the antiferromagnetic spin fluctuation. The effects of anisotropy in spin fluctuation on the Cooper pairing and on the direction of d vector are examined in the one-band Hubbard model with RPA approximation. The gap equations for the anisotropic case are derived and applied to Sr_2RuO_4. It is found that a nesting property of the Fermi surface together with the anisotropy leads to the triplet superconductivity with the d=z(sin{k_x}\pm isin{k_y}), which is consistent with experiments.
The spin susceptibility in the uranium ferromagnet superconductors is calculated. There is shown that the absence of superconductivity paramagnetic limitation for the field directions perpendicular to the direction of the spontaneous magnetization is explained by the itinerant ferromagnet band splitting rather than by a rotation of magnetization toward the external field direction. The qualitative description of the upper critical field temperature dependence is given.
We investigate the spin-triplet superconducting state of Sr2RuO4 in the magnetic field along the c-axis on the basis of the four-component Ginzburg-Landau (GL) model with a weak spin-orbit coupling. We consider superconducting states described by the d-vector parallel to the ab-plane, and find that three spin-triplet pairing states are stabilized in the magnetic field-temperature phase diagram. Although a helical state is stable at low magnetic fields, a chiral II state is stabilized at high magnetic fields. A non-unitary spin-triplet pairing state appears near the transition temperature owing…
We propose that screened pairing interactions mediated by phonons could give rise to a spin triplet superconductivity in ferromagnetic compounds such as UGe_2. It is pointed out that the pairing interactions include anisotropic components such as those of p, d, f-waves in addition to dominant s-wave component due to the momentum dependence. Since the ferromagnetic long-range order coexists, there is a large splitting of the Fermi surfaces of up and down spin electrons, which suppresses singlet pairing. Therefore, triplet pairing occurs at last due to the sub-dominant anisotropic interactions, …
In a Kondo lattice system, suppression of effective Kondo coupling leads to the breakdown of the heavy-electron metal and a change in the electronic structure. Spin triplet superconductivity in the Kondo lattice UTe2 appears to be associated with spin fluctuations originating from incipient ferromagnetic order. Here we show clear evidence of twofold enhancement of spin-triplet superconductivity near the pressure-driven suppression of the Kondo coherence, implying that superconductivity is strengthened by the affiliated growth of both spin and charge fluctuations. The coherent Kondo state disco…
The effects of spin independent hybridization potential and spin orbit coupling on two band superconductor with equal time s-wave inter band pairing order parameter is investigated theoretically. To study symmetry classes in two band superconductors the Gorkov equations are solved analytically. By defining spin singlet and spin triplet s wave order parameter due to two band degree of freedom the symmetry classes of Cooper pair are studied. For spin singlet case it is shown that spin independent hybridization generates Cooper pair belongs to even frequency spin singlet even momentum even band p…
We investigate the spin-triplet superconductivity mediated by phonons in quasi-one-dimensional (Q1D) systems with open Fermi surfaces. We obtain the ground state phase diagrams. It is found that spin-triplet superconductivity occurs for weak screening and strong on-site Coulomb interaction, even in the absence of any additional nonphonon pairing interactions. We find that the nodeless spin-triplet state is more favorable than the spin-triplet state with line nodes, for the parameter values of the Q1D superconductors (TMTSF)_2X. We also find that Q1D open Fermi surface, which is the specific fe…
We reveal that in a magnetically polarized medium, a specific commensurate triplet pair density wave (TPDW) superconducting (SC) state, the staggered d-wave $Π$-triplet state, may coexist with homogeneous triplet SC states and even dominate eliminating them under generic conditions. When only this TPDW SC state is present, we have the remarkable phenomenon of gapless superconductivity. This may explain part of the difficulties in the realization of the engineered localized Majorana fermion modes for topological quantum computation. We point out qualitative characteristics of the tunneling dens…
We have investigated the proximity effect in superconductor/ferromagnet junctions in a systematic manner to discuss the relationship between the zero-energy peak (ZEP) of the local density of states (LDOS) and spin-triplet odd-frequency pairing. By exactly solving the nonlinear Usadel equations, we have found that the ZEP is realized in a wide range of geometrical and material parameters in the case of the noncollinear magnetization. This strongly suggests the robustness of the ZEP induced by spin-triplet odd-frequency pairing in such systems. We also found that the crossover from singlet pair…
A common path to superconducting spintronics, Majorana fermions, and topologically-protected quantum computing relies on spin-triplet superconductivity. While naturally occurring spin-triplet pairing is elusive and even common spin-triplet candidates, such as Sr$_2$RuO$_4$, support alternative explanations, proximity effects in heterostructures can overcome these limitations. It is expected that robust spin-triplet superconductivity in magnetic junctions should rely on highly spin-polarized magnets or complex magnetic multilayers. Instead, we predict that the interplay of interfacial spin-orbi…
We theoretically consider the upper critical magnetic field, perpendicular to a conducting axis in a triplet quasi-one-dimensional superconductor. In particular, we demonstrate that, at high magnetic fields, the orbital effects against superconductivity in a magnetic field are reversible and, therefore, superconductivity can restore. It is important that the above mentioned quantum limit can be achieved in presumably triplet quasi-one-dimensional superconductor Li$_{0.9}$Mo$_6$O$_{17}$ [J.-F. Mercure et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. {\bf 108}, 187003 (2012)] at laboratory available pulsed magnetic fie…
We study theoretically the Josephson effect and pairing correlations in planar SF1F2S junctions that consist of conventional superconductors (S) connected by two metallic monodomain ferromagnets (F1 and F2) with transparent interfaces. We obtain both spin-singlet and -triplet pair amplitudes and the Josephson current-phase relations for arbitrary orientation of the magnetizations using the self-consistent solutions of Eilenberger equations in the clean limit and for a moderate disorder in ferromagnets. We find that the long-range spin-triplet correlations cannot prevail in symmetric junctions …
We study triplet pairing correlations in clean Ferromagnet (F)/Superconductor (S) nanojunctions, via fully self consistent solution of the Bogoliubov-de Gennes equations. We consider FSF trilayers, with S being an s-wave superconductor, and an arbitrary angle $α$ between the magnetizations of the two F layers. We find that contrary to some previous expectations, triplet correlations, odd in time, are induced in both the S and F layers in the clean limit. We investigate their behavior as a function of time, position, and $α$. The triplet amplitudes are largest at times on the order of the inver…
There is mounting evidence for triplet superconductivity in the recently discovered skutterudite compound PrOs_4Sb_12. In this work, we propose nodal order parameters for the A- and B-phases of this superconductor which are consistent with angle dependent magnetothermal conductivity measurements and with low-temperature thermal conductivity data in the range T > 150 mK. The quasiparticle density of states and the thermal conductivity kappa_zz are derived within the quasiclassical approximation.
We characterize the coexistence of itinerant ferromagnetism and spin-triplet superconductivity within a single mechanism involving local (Hund's rule) exchange among $d$ electrons. The ratio of transition temperatures and the spin anisotropy of the superconducting gap is estimated for $ZrZn_2$. The $A$ phase is stable in very low applied and molecular fields, whereas the $A1$ phases persists in higher fields. A small residual magnetic moment is present below the Stoner threshold in the superconducting phase.
To investigate relations between long-range antiferromagnetic (AF) order, superconductivity and two particle triplet collective excitations we consider a modified two dimensional t-J model at doping close to half filling. The model includes additional hopping t'' and nearest sites Coulomb repulsion V. The additional parameters allow us to control closeness of the system to the AF instability. We demonstrate the possibility of co-existence of long-range AF order and d-g-wave superconductivity. In the phase with long-range AF order we find, analytically, superconducting gaps and spin wave renorm…
The origin of interband electron pairing responsible for enhancing superconductivity and the factors controlling its strength were examined. We show that the interband electron pairing is a natural consequence of breaking down the Born-Oppenheimer approximation during the electron-phonon interactions. Its strength is determined by the pair-state excitations around the Fermi surfaces that take place to form a superconducting state. Fermi surfaces favorable for the pairing were found and its implications were discussed.
We show that a spontaneous magnetic moment may appear at the edge of a spin-triplet superconductor if the system allows for pairing in a subdominant channel. To unveil the microscopic mechanism behind such effect we combine numerical solution of the Bogoliubov-De Gennes equations for a tight-binding model with nearest-neighbor attraction, and the symmetry based Ginzburg-Landau approach. We find that a potential barrier modulating the electronic density near the edge of the system leads to a non-unitary superconducting state close to the boundary where spin-singlet pairing coexists with the dom…
We show that the nonuniform state (Fulde-Ferrel-Larkin-Ovchinnikov (FFLO) state) of the spin triplet superconductivity in noncentrosymmetric systems is stabilized by antisymmetric spin-orbit coupling even if the magnetic field is absent. The transition temperature of the spin triplet superconductivity is reduced by the antisymmetric spin-orbit coupling in general. This pair breaking effect is shown to be similar to the Pauli pair breaking effect due to magnetic field for the spin singlet superconductivity, in which FFLO state is stabilized near the Pauli limit (or Chandrasekhar-Clogston limit)…
We present a relativistic symmetry analysis of the allowed pairing states in the noncentroymmetric superconductor LaNiC$_2$. The case of zero spin-orbit coupling (SOC) is discussed first and then the evolution of the symmetry-allowed superconducting instabilities as SOC is adiabatically turned on is described. In addition to mixing singlet with triplet pairing, SOC splits some triplet pairing states with degenerate order parameter spaces into non-degenerate pairing states with different critical temperatures. We address the breaking of time-reversal symmetry (TRS) detected in recent muon spin …
We present the numerical solutions for the I-V characteristics, and describe the motion of fluxons in a frustrated Josephson junction made of an unconventional triplet superconductor and an s-wave superconductor. In the inline geometry, and long length limit the moving integer fluxon interacts with the bound fractional fluxon but is not able to change its position or polarity. We observe different modes of multifluxon propagation. In the small length limit the moving fluxon is a combination of the stable solutions that exist in the static case and additional steps are introduced in the I-V dia…
The critical current modulation and the spontaneous flux of the vortex states in corner Josephson junctions between Sr$_2$RuO$_4$ and a conventional s-wave superconductor are calculated as a function of the crystal orientation, and the magnetic field. For Sr$_2$RuO$_4$ we assume two nodeless p-wave pairing states. Also we use the nodal $f$-wave states $B_{1g}\times E_u$ and $B_{2g} \times E_u$, and one special p-wave state having line nodes. It is seen that the critical current depends solely on the topology of the gap.
Motivated by the fully gapped superconductivity in iron-based superconductors with uncompensated electron pockets, we propose a spin singlet, but orbital triplet analogue of the superfluid phase of He-3B. We show that orbital triplets with a nominal d-wave symmetry at the iron sites can transform as s-wave pairs under rotations about the selenium sites. Linear combinations of such d$_{xy}$ and d$_{x^{2}-y^{2}}$ triplets form a fully gapped, topological superconductor. Raman-active excitations are predicted to develop below the superconducting transition temperature.
The nature of the pairing states of superconducting LaNiC$_2$ and LaNiGa$_2$ has to date remained a puzzling question. Broken time reversal symmetry has been observed in both compounds and a group theoretical analysis implies a non-unitary triplet pairing state. However all the allowed non-unitary triplet states have nodal gap functions but most thermodynamic and NMR measurements indicate fully gapped superconductivity in LaNiC$_2$. Here we probe the gap symmetry of LaNiGa$_2$ by measuring the London penetration depth, specific heat and upper critical field. These measurements demonstrate two-…
We study induced triplet pairing correlations in clean ferromagnet/superconductor/ferromagnet heterostructures. The pairing state in the superconductor is the conventional singlet s-wave, and the angle $α$ between the magnetizations of the two ferromagnetic layers is arbitrary. We use a numerical fully self-consistent solution of the microscopic equations and obtain the time-dependent triplet correlations via the Heisenberg equations of motion. We find that in addition to the usual singlet correlations, triplet correlations, odd in time as required by the Pauli principle, are induced in both t…
Despite being of fundamental importance and potential interest for topological quantum computing, spin-triplet superconductors remain rare in solid state materials after decades of research. In this work, we present a general mechanism for spin-triplet superconductivity in multi-band systems, where a non-retarded pairing interaction between conduction electrons is produced by their electronic repulsion to a third-electron undergoing a virtual interband transition. Our theory is analytically controlled by an interband hybridization parameter, and explicitly demonstrated in doped band insulators…
Thin film junctions and bilayers of the doped topological insulator $\rm Bi_2Se_3$ and the s-wave superconductor NbN were found to exhibit conductance spectra with prominent zero bias and coherence peaks. Various tunneling models with different pair potentials have failed to fit our data, except for the triplet $p_x+ip_y$ pair potential, which breaks time reversal symmetry, but yielded reasonably good fits. This provides evidence for proximity induced triplet superconductivity in the $\rm Bi_2Se_3$ layer near the interface with the NbN film.
Starting from the linearized BdG-equation we make the simple observation that pairing can occur between particles with total momenta different from zero, e.g., with equal momentum and opposite spin, in cases of an effective interaction acting in the center-of-mass coordinates.
A model interaction is proposed in which pairing is caused by a non-local Jahn-Teller (JT) -like instability due to the coupling between planar O states and knot equal to 0 phonons. Apart from pairing, the interaction is found to naturally allow metallic stripe formation. The consequences of the model for superconductivity in the cuprates are discussed. The model is shown to be consistent with numerous sets of experimental data in quite some detail.
We show that mixed-parity superconductors may exhibit equal-spin pair correlations that are odd-in-time and can be tuned by means of an applied field. The direction and the amplitude of the pair correlator in the spin space turn out to be strongly dependent on the symmetry of the order parameter, and thus provide a tool to identify different types of singlet-triplet mixed configurations. We find that odd-in-time spin-polarized pair correlations can be generated without magnetic inhomogeneities in superconducting/ferromagnetic hybrids when parity mixing is induced at the interface.
Hund's coupling in multiorbital systems allows for the possibility of even-parity orbital-antisymmetric spin-triplet pairing, which can be stabilized by spin-orbit coupling (SOC). While this pairing expressed in the orbital basis is uniform and spin-triplet, it appears in the band basis as a pseudospin-singlet, with the momentum dependence determined by the SOC and the underlying triplet character remaining in the form of interband pairing active away from the Fermi energy. Here, we examine the role of momentum-dependent SOC in generating nontrivial pairing symmetries, as well as the hidden tr…
We demonstrate that in multilayered superconductor-ferromagnet structures a non-collinear alignment of the magnetizations of different ferromagnetic layers generates a triplet superconducting condensate which is odd in frequency. This triplet condensate coexists in the superconductors with the conventional singlet one but decays very slowly in the ferromagnet, which should lead to a large Josephson effect between the superconductors separated by the ferromagnet. Depending on the mutual direction of the ferromagnetic moments the Josephson coupling can be both of 0 and $π$ type.
Atomic layers deposited on semiconductor substrates introduce a platform for the realization of the extended electronic Hubbard model, where the consideration of electronic repulsion beyond the onsite term is paramount. Recently, the onset of superconductivity at 4.7K has been reported in the hole-doped triangular lattice of tin atoms on a silicon substrate. Through renormalization group methods designed for weak and intermediate coupling, we investigate the nature of the superconducting instability in hole-doped Sn/Si(111). We find that the extended Hubbard nature of interactions is crucial t…
The unique Fermi surfaces and their nesting properties of Sr2RuO4 are considered. The existence of unconventional superconductivity is shown microscopically, for the first time, from the magnetic interactions (due to nesting) and the phonon-mediated interactions. The odd-parity superconductivity is favored in the $α$ and $β$ sheets of the Fermi surface, and the various superconductivities are possible in the $γ$ sheet. There are a number of possible odd-parity gaps, which include the gaps with nodes, the breaking of time-reversal symmetry and $\vec{d}\parallel \hat{z}$.
The symmetry properties of the Cooper pairing problem for multi-component ultra-cold dipolar molecular systems are investigated. The dipolar anisotropy provides a natural and robust mechanism for both triplet and singlet Cooper pairing to first order in the interaction strength. With a purely dipolar interaction, the triplet $p_z$-like polar pairing is the most dominant. A short-range attractive interaction can enhance the singlet pairing to be nearly degenerate with the triplet pairing. We point out that these two pairing channels can mix by developing a relative phase of $\pm\fracπ{2}$, thus…
