We improve the $L^p(\mathbb{R}^n)$ bounds on Stein's square function to the best-known range of the Fourier restriction problem when $n\geq4$. Applications including certain local smoothing estimates are also discussed.

We investigate g-functions based on semigroups related to multi-dimensional Laguerre function expansions of convolution type. We prove that these operators can be viewed as Calderon-Zygmund operators in the sense of the underlying space of homogeneous type, hence their mapping properties follow from the general theory.

We prove an extension of the Stein-Weiss weighted estimates for fractional integrals, in the context of $L^{p}$ spaces with different integrability properties in the radial and the angular direction. In this way, the classical estimates can be unified with their improved radial versions. A number of consequences are obtained: in particular we deduce precised versions of weighted Sobolev embeddings, Caffarelli-Kohn-Nirenberg estimates, and Strichartz estimates for the wave equation, which extend the radial improvements to the case of arbitrary functions.

Our results are based on vector valued extensions of Bennett-Carbery-Tao's multilinear (adjoint) restriction estimate and adaption of induction argument due to Bourgain-Guth.
