An irreducible algebraic decomposition $\cup_{i=0}^{d}X_i=\cup_{i=0}^{d} (\cup_{j=1}^{d_i}X_{ij})$ of an affine algebraic variety X can be represented as an union of finite disjoint sets $\cup_{i=0}^{d}W_i=\cup_{i=0} ^{d}(\cup_{j=1}^{d_i}W_{ij})$ called numerical irreducible decomposition (cf. [14],[15],[17],[18],[19],[21],[22],[23]). $W_i$ corresponds to a pure i-dimensional $X_i$, and $W_{ij}$ presents an i- dimensional irreducible component $X_{ij}$. Modifying this concepts by using partially Gröbner bases, local dimension, and the "Zero Sum Relation" we present in this paper an implementation in SINGULAR to compute the numerical irreducible decomposition. We will give some examples and timings, which show that the modified algorithms are more efficient if the number of variables is not too large. For a large number of variables BERTINI is more efficient. Note that each step of the numerical decomposition is parallelizable. For our comparisons we did not use the parallel version of BERTINI.
We prove the equality of the Makar-Limanov invariant and the modified Makar-Limanov invariant in the case of not necessary normal affine toric varieties. Also we give a combinatorial description of these invariants.
In this paper we study the geometric structure of affine Deligne-Lusztig varieties for $GL_3$ and $b$ basic. We completely determine the irreducible components of the affine Deligne-Lusztig variety. In particular, we classify the cases where all of the irreducible components are classical Deligne-Lusztig varieties times finite-dimensional affine spaces. If this is the case, then the irreducible components are pairwise disjoint.
Affine Deligne-Lusztig varieties are closely related to the special fibre of Newton strata in the reduction of Shimura varieties or of moduli spaces of $G$-shtukas. In almost all cases, they are not quasi-compact. In this note we prove basic finiteness properties of affine Deligne-Lusztig varieties under minimal assumptions on the associated group. We show that affine Deligne-Lusztig varieties are locally of finite type, and prove a global finiteness result related to the natural group action. Similar results have previously been known for special situations.
In this paper we discuss the geometry of affine Deligne Lusztig varieties with very special level structure, determining their dimension and connected and irreducible components. As application, we prove the Grothendieck conjecture for Shimura varieties with very special level at $p$ and a function field analogue.
We extend the Altmann-Hausen presentation of normal affine algebraic C-varieties endowed with effective torus actions to the real setting. In particular, we focus on actions of quasi-split real tori, in which case we obtain a simpler presentation.
For unramified reductive groups, we determine the connected components of affine Deligne-Lusztig varieties in the partial affine flag varieties. Based on the work of Hamacher-Kim and Zhou, this result allows us to verify, in the unramified group case, the He-Rapoport axioms, the ``almost product structure" of Newton strata, and the precise description of mod $p$ isogeny classes predicted by the Langlands-Rapoport conjecture, for the Kisin-Pappas integral models of Shimura varieties of Hodge type with parahoric level structure.
Using Galois descent tools, we extend the Altmann-Hausen presentation of normal affine algebraic varieties endowed with an effective torus action over an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero to the case where the ground field is an arbitrary field of characteristic zero. In this context, the acting torus may have non-trivial torsors and we need additional data to encode such varieties. Finally, we focus on affine varieties endowed with a two-dimensional torus action and we provide a method for determining when a torsor is trivial, in which case the Altmann-Hausen presentation simp…
Projective completions of affine varieties via degree-like functions
Res.Inst.Math.Sci.,2008年)。我们还找到了“无穷远除数”的拉回公式,并将其应用于计算某些仿射曲面的一类紧化上的无穷远曲线的相交数矩阵。
We study seminormalization of affine complex varieties. We show that polynomials on the seminormalization correspond to the rational functions which are continuous for the Euclidean topology. We further study this type of functions which can be seen as complex regulous functions, a class of functions recently introduced in real algebraic geometry, or as the algebraic counterpart of c-holomorphic functions.
We compute the motive of the variety of representations of the torus knot of type (m,n) into the affine groups $AGL_1(C)$ and $AGL_2(C)$. For this, we stratify the varieties and show that the motives lie in the subring generated by the Lefschetz motive q=[C].
We show that any normal irreducible affine $n$-dimensional $SL_n$-variety $X$ is determined by its automorphism group in the category of normal irreducible affine varieties: if $Y$ is an irreducible affine normal algebraic variety such that $Aut(X) \cong Aut(Y)$ as ind-groups, then $Y \cong X$ as varieties. If we drop the condition of normality on $Y$ , then $X$ is not uniquely determined and we classify all such varieties. In case $n \ge 3$, all the above results hold true if we replace $Aut(X)$ by $U(X)$, where $U(X)$ is the subgroup of $Aut(X)$ generated by all one-dimensional unipotent sub…
The goal of this paper is to introduce a new constructive geometric proof of the affine version of Chevalley's Theorem. This proof is algorithmic and a verbatim implementation resulted in an efficient code for computing the constructible image of rational maps between affine varieties. Our approach extends the known descriptions of uniform matrix product states to $\operatorname{uMPS}(2,2,5)$
Relying on recent advances in the theory of motives we develope a general formalism for derived categories of motives with Q-coefficients on perfect (ind-)schemes. As an application we give a motivic refinement of Zhu's geometric Satake equivalence for Witt vector affine Grassmannians in this set-up.
We prove that up to automorphisms a line admits a unique embedding into the regular part of of a simplicial toric variety of dimension n>=4 over an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero which is smooth in codimension 2.
An ind-variety is an inductive limit of closed embeddings of algebraic varieties and an ind-group is a group object in the category of ind-varieties. These notions were first introduced by Shafarevich in the study of the automorphism group of affine spaces and have been studied by many authors afterwards. An ind-torus is an ind-group obtained as an inductive limit of closed embeddings of algebraic tori that are also algebraic group homomorphisms. In this paper, we introduce the natural definition of toric ind-varieties as ind-varieties having an ind-torus as an open set and such that the actio…
Lie algebras of zero divergence vector fields on complex affine algebraic varieties
We propose a novel sufficient condition establishing that a piecewise affine variety has the same topology as a variety of the sphere $\mathbb{S}^n$ defined by positively homogeneous $C^1$ functions. This covers the case of $C^1$ varieties in the projective space $\mathbb{P}^n$. We prove that this condition is sufficient in the case of codimension one and arbitrary dimension. We describe an implementation working for homogeneous polynomials in arbitrary dimension and codimension and give experimental evidences that our condition might still be sufficient in codimension greater than one.
