Using the Ginzburg-Landau theory for two-band superconductors, we determine the surface energy, sigma_s, between coexisting normal and superconducting states at the thermodynamic critical magnetic field. Close to the transition temperature, where the Ginzburg-Landau theory is applicable, we demonstrate that the two-band problem maps onto an effective single band problem. While the order parameters of the two bands may have different amplitudes in the homogeneous bulk, near the critical temperature the Josephson-like coupling between the bands leads to the same spatial dependence of both order parameters near the interface. This finding puts into question the possibility of intermediate, so called type-1.5 superconductivity, in the regime where the Ginzburg-Landau theory applies.
We consider the interface between a Bardeen-Cooper-Schrieffer superconductor and non-superconducting band insulator. We show that under certain conditions, such interfaces can have an elevated superconducting critical temperature, without increasing the strength of the pairing interaction at the interface. We identify the regimes where the interface critical temperature exceeds the critical temperature associated with a superconductor-vacuum interface.
We study a magnetic proximity effect at superconductor (S) - ferromagnet (F) interface. It is shown that due to an exchange of electrons between the F and S metals ferromagnetic correlations extend into the superconductor, being dependent on interface parameters. We show that ferromagnetic exchange field pair breaking effect leads to a formation of subgap bands in the S layer local density of states, that accommodate only one spin-polarized quasiparticles. Equilibrium magnetization leakage into the S layer as function of SF interface quality and a value of ferromagnetic interaction have also b…
We examine intrinsic interfaces separating crystalline twin domains of opposite spin-orbit coupling in a noncentrosymmetric superconductor such as CePt3Si. At these interfaces, low-energy Andreev bound states occur as a consequence of parity-mixed Cooper pairing, and a superconducting phase which violates time reversal symmetry can be realized. This provides an environment allowing flux lines with fractional flux quanta to be formed at the interface. Their presence could have strong implications on the flux creep behavior in such superconductors.
Tunneling conductance of a clean normal metal/d-wave superconductor junction is studied by using the extended Blonder-Tinkham-Klapwijk formalism. We show that the conductance is significantly affected by the interface spin-orbit coupling of the Rashba type, which is inevitably present due to the asymmetry of the junction.
We report measurements of the critical temperature of YBCO-Co doped YBCO Superconductor-Normal bilayer films. Depending on the morphology of the S-N interface, the coupling between S and N layers can be turned on to depress the critical temperature of S by tens of degrees, or turned down so the layers appear almost totally decoupled. This novel effect can be explained by the mechanism of quasiparticle transmission into an anisotropic superconductor.
We study the tunneling conductance of a clean normal metal/chiral p-wave superconductor junction using the extended Blonder-Tinkham-Klapwijk formalism. It is shown that the spin-orbit coupling of the Rashba type that is present near the interface causes the subgap conductance peaks associated with the Andreev surface bound states to shift to a nonzero bias. We also investigate the effect of the Fermi wavevector mismatch between the normal metal and the superconductor.
We develop a method to solve the Bogoliubov de Gennes equation for superconductors self-consistently, using the recursion method. The method allows the pairing interaction to be either local or non-local corresponding to s and d-wave superconductivity, respectively. Using this method we examine the properties of various S-N and S-S interfaces. In particular we calculate the spatially varying density of states and order parameter for the following geometries (i) s-wave superconductor to normal metal, (ii) d-wave superconductor to normal metal, (iii) d-wave superconductor to s-wave superconducto…
We report experimental evidence of the effect of an applied magnetic field on the non-thermal magnetic relaxation in a disk-shaped type-I lead superconductor. The time evolution of the irreversible magnetization proves to be logarithmic for a wide range of temperatures and magnetic field values along the descending branch of the hysteresis cycle. When the intensity of the magnetic field increases, the crossover temperature separating the thermal and non-thermal regimes of magnetic relaxation is found to decrease, whereas the rate at which such relaxation occurs is observed to increase. These r…
We study the proximity coherence in a mesoscopic normal-metal film (N) in contact with a superconductor (S). Accounting for a repulsive interaction between the electrons in the normal metal, we find an enhanced local density of states close to the NS interface. The sharp peak in the density is pinned to the Fermi energy and leads to spontaneous paramagnetic interface currents. The induced orbital magnetic moments exhibit the characteristic features of paramagnetic reentrance observed in normal-metal coated superconducting cylinders [Phys. Rev. Lett. 65, 1514 (1990)].
A stationary Josephson effect in the ballistic contact of two d-wave superconductors with different axes orientation and with tangential transport current in the banks is considered theoretically. We study the influence of the transport current on the current-phase dependence for the Josephson and tangential currents at the interface. It is demonstrated that the spontaneous surface current at the interface depends on the transport current in the banks due to the interference of the angle-dependent current-carrying condensate wave functions of the two superconductors.
We discuss the surface impedance (Z=R-iX) of a normal-metal/superconductor proximity structure taking into account the spin-dependent potential at the junction interface. Because of the spin mixing transport at the interface, odd-frequency spin-triplet s-wave Cooper pairs penetrate into the normal metal and cause the anomalous response to electromagnetic fields. At low temperature, the local impedance at a surface of the normal metal shows the nonmonotonic temperature dependence and the anomalous relation R>X. We also discuss a possibility of observing such anomalous impedance in experiments.
We study the angle dependence of the Andreev scattering at a semiconductor-superconductor interface, generalizing the one-dimensional theory of Blonder, Tinkham and Klapwijk. An increase of the momentum parallel to the interface leads to suppression of the probability of Andreev reflection and increase of the probability of normal reflection. We show that in the presence of a Fermi velocity mismatch between the semiconductor and the superconductor the angles of incidence and transmission are related according to the well-known Snell's law in optics. As a consequence there is a critical angle o…
Superconducting transition temperatures Tc of the YBCO film surface and of the YBCO film/substrate interface were measured inductively. It was observed that the interface- Tc is always higher then the surface - Tc. However deposition of silver over-layer enhances the superconducting transition temperatures. This observation was confirmed by four-point resistance measurements. In the annealed YBCO/Ag bilayers magnetic properties of the interface were observed. We believe that such phenomena are a common feature of layered systems. This two dimensional structure reminds the layered microstructur…
We evaluate the microscopically relevant parameters for electrical transport of hybrid superconductor-semiconductor interfaces. In contrast to the commonly used geometrically constricted metallic systems, we focus on materials with dissimilar electronic properties like low-carrier density semiconductors combined with superconductors, without imposing geometric confinement. We find an intrinsic mode-selectivity, a directional momentum-filter, due to the differences in electronic band-structure, which creates a separation of electron reservoirs each at the opposite sides of the semiconductor, wh…
The current fluctuation in normal metal / d-wave superconductor junctions are studied for various orientation of the crystal by taking account of the spatial variation of the pair potentials. Not only the zero-energy Andreev bound states (ZES) but also the non-zero energy Andreev bound states influence on the properties of differential shot noise. At the tunneling limit, the noise power to current ratio at zero voltage becomes 0, once the ZES are formed at the interface. Under the presence of a subdominant s-wave component at the interface which breaks time-reversal symmetry, the ratio becomes…
Considerable evidence for proximity-induced triplet superconductivity on the ferromagnetic side of a superconductor-ferromagnet (S-F) interface now exists; however, the corresponding effect on the superconductor side has hardly been addressed. We have performed scanning tunneling spectroscopy measurements on NbN superconducting thin films proximity coupled to the half-metallic ferromagnet La2/3Ca1/3MnO3 (LCMO) as a function of magnetic field. We have found that at zero and low applied magnetic fields the tunneling spectra on NbN typically show an anomalous gap structure with suppressed coheren…
The macroturbulence instability observed in fluxline systems during remagnetization of superconductors is explained. It is shown that when a region with flux is invaded by antiflux the interface can become unstable if there is a relative tangential flux motion. This condition occurs at the interface when the viscosity is anisotropic, e.g., due to flux guiding by twin boundaries in crystals. The phenomenon is similar to the instability of the tangential discontinuity in classical hydrodynamics. The obtained results are supported by magneto-optical observations of flux distribution on the surfac…
We consider a model (100) interface between two d-wave superconductors. By solving the Bogoliubov de Gennes equation on a tight binding lattice, we study the properties of the interface as a function of the interface barrier. We contrast the two scenarios: (i) an order parameter phase difference of $θ=0$ across the interface, and (ii) a phase slip of $θ=π$ across the interface. We find resonant sub-gap structure in the density of states only when there is a phase slip present. We show that the local s-wave and ``p-wave like'' order parameter components are strongly influenced by the barrier pr…
We study the physical properties of a half-metallic ferromagnet$\mid$superconductor (HM$\mid$S) bilayer, allowing for an arbitrary bulk pairing symmetry of the superconductor and spin-dependent processes at the interface. In particular, we study how the possibility of unconventional pairing such as $p$- and d-wave and a spin-active interface influence the \textit{(i)} conductance spectra, \textit{(ii)} proximity effect, and \textit{(iii)} local density of states of such a bilayer. Our calculation is done both analytically and numerically in the ballistic limit, using both a continuum- and latt…
We present a detailed theoretical investigation of interfaces and junctions involving itinerant antiferromagnets. By solving the Bogoliubov-de Gennes equations with a tight-binding model on a square lattice, we study both the self-consistent order parameter fields proximate to interfaces between antiferromagnets (AF) and s-wave (sSC) or d-wave (dSC) superconductors, the dispersion of quasiparticle subgap states at interfaces and interlayers, and the local density of states (LDOS) as a function of distance from the interface. In addition, we present the quasiclassical approach to interfaces and…
Influence of surface pair breaking, barrier transmission and phase difference on quasiparticle bound states in junctions with d-wave superconductors is examined. Based on the quasiclassical theory of superconductivity, an approach is developed to handle interface bound states. It is shown in SIS' junctions that low energy bound states get their energies reduced by surface pair breaking, which can be taken into account by introducing an effective order parameter for each superconductor at the junction barrier. More interestingly, for the interface bound states near the continuous spectrum the e…
Mesoscopic point contacts between elemental metals and the topological 3D Dirac semimetal Cd$_3$As$_2$ have been recently shown to be superconducting with unconventional pairing while Cd$_3$As$_2$ itself does not superconduct. Here we show that the same superconducting phase at mesoscopic interfaces on Cd$_3$As$_2$ can be induced with a known conventional superconductor Nb where a pronounced zero-bias conductance peak is observed which undergoes splitting in energy under certain conditions. The observations are consistent with the theory of the emergence of Andreev bound states (ABS) due to th…
The spatial variations of the order parameter, and the local density of states (LDOS) on the corner of s-wave or $d_{x^2-y^2}$-wave superconductors, as well as in superconductor-insulator-normal metal interfaces, are calculated self consistently using the Bogoliubov-deGennes formalism within the two dimensional extended Hubbard model. The exact diagonalization method is used. Due to the suppression of the dominant d-wave order parameter, the extended s-wave order parameter is induced near the surface, that alternates its sign for the topmost sites at adjacent edges of the lattice and decays to…
The Bean-Livingston barrier at the interface of type-II superconductor/soft-magnet heterostructures is studied on the basis of the classical London approach. This shows a characteristic dependence on the geometry of the particular structure and its interface as well as on the relative permeability of the involved magnetic constituent. The modification of the barrier by the presence of the magnet can be significant, as demonstrated for a cylindrical superconducting filament covered with a coaxial magnetic sheath. Using typical values of the relative permeability, the critical field of first pen…
We investigate inverse proximity effects in a spin-triplet superconductor (TSC) interfaced with a ferromagnet (FM), assuming different types of magnetic profiles and chiral or helical pairings. The region of the coexistence of spin-triplet superconductivity and magnetism is significantly influenced by the orientation and spatial extension of the magnetization with respect to the spin configuration of the Cooper pairs, resulting into clearcut anisotropy signatures. A characteristic mark of the inverse proximity effect arises in the induced spin-polarization at the TSC interface. This is unexpec…
The theory of superconductivity developed by Bardeen, Cooper and Schrieffer (BCS) explains the stabilization of electron pairs into a spin-singlet, even frequency, state by the formation of an energy gap within which the density of states is zero. At a superconductor interface with an inhomogeneous ferromagnet, a gapless odd frequency superconducting state is predicted, in which the Cooper pairs are in a spin-triplet state. Although indirect evidence for such a state has been obtained, the gap structure and pairing symmetry have not so far been determined. Here we report scanning tunnelling sp…
We study spin transport through a normal metal-spin superconductor junction. A spin-flip reflection is demonstrated at the interface, where a spin-up electron incident from the normal metal can be reflected as a spin-down electron and the spin $2\times \hbar/2$ will be injected into the spin superconductor. When the (spin) voltage is smaller than the gap of the spin superconductor, the spin-flip reflection determines the transport properties of the junction. We consider both graphene-based (linear-dispersion-relation) and quadratic-dispersion-relation normal metal-spin superconductor junctions…
We present a study of the magnetic field tuned superconductor-to-insulator transition (SIT) in the electron gas that forms at the LaAlO$_3$/SrTiO$_3$ interface. We find that the magnetic field induces a transition into a weakly insulating state, as is observed for the electrostatically tuned SIT at this interface. Finite size scaling of the magnetoresistance yields the critical exponent product $zν\simeq$ 7/3, indicating that the transition is governed by quantum percolation effects. While such critical exponents have been reported previously for high resistance films, they have not been repor…
When an in-plane field is applied to a clean interface superconductor, a Fulde-Ferrell-Larkin-Ovchinnikov (FFLO)-like phase is stabilized. This phase has a $\mathrm{U}(1)\times\mathrm{U}(1)$ symmetry and, in principle, this symmetry allows for flux carrying topological excitations different from Abrikosov vortices (which are the simplest defects associated with $S^1 \to S^1$ maps). However, in practice, largely due to electromagnetic and other intercomponent interactions, such topological excitations are very rare in superconducting systems. Here we demonstrate that a realistic microscopic the…
In this paper we study the effect of non-magnetic impurities on two-band $s_{\pm}$ superconductors by deriving the corresponding Ginzburg-Landau (GL) equation. Depending on the strength of (impurity-induced) inter-band scattering we find that there are two distinctive regions where the superconductors behave very differently. In the strong impurity induced inter-band scattering regime $T_c<<τ^{-1}_t$, where $τ_t\sim$ mean-life time an electron stays in one band the two-band superconductor behaves as an effective one-band dirty superconductor. In the other limit $T_c\geqτ^{-1}_t$, the dirty two…
We study proximity effects at ferromagnet superconductor interfaces by self-consistent numerical solution of the Bogoliubov-de Gennes equations for the continuum, without any approximations. Our procedures allow us to study systems with long superconducting coherence lengths. We obtain results for the pair potential, the pair amplitude, and the local density of states. We use these results to extract the relevant proximity lengths. We find that the superconducting correlations in the ferromagnet exhibit a damped oscillatory behavior that is reflected in both the pair amplitude and the local de…
We investigate one dimensional models (the Blonder, Tinkham, Klapwijk model and a tight-binding model) of non local transport at normal metal / superconductor (NS) double interfaces. We find a negative elastic cotunneling crossed conductance, strongly enhanced by additional scatterers away from the interfaces, suggesting the possibility of reflectionless tunneling non local transport at double NS interfaces with contacts having a sufficiently small extension.
We set up a simple transfer matrix formalism to study the existence of bound states at interfaces and in junctions between antiferromagnets and d-wave superconductors. The well-studied zero energy mode at the {110} interface between an insulator and a d-wave superconductor is spin split when the insulator is an antiferromagnet. This has as a consequence that any competing interface induced superconducting order parameter that breaks the time reversal symmetry needs to exceed a critical value before a charge current is induced along the interface.
Across a faceted (100)/(110) interface between two d-wave-superconductors the structure of the superconducting order parameter leads to an alternating sign of the local Josephson coupling. Describing the Cooper pair motion along and across the interface by a one-dimensional boson lattice model, we show that a small attractive interaction between the bosons boosts boson binding at the interface -- a phenomenon, which is intimately tied to the staggered sequence of 0- and Pi-junction contacts along the interface. We connect this finding to the recently observed h/4e oscillations in (100)/(110) S…
We study the interface propagation in superconductors by means of a variational method. We compute the lower and upper bounds for which the planar front speed propagation is valid. To take into account delay or memory effects in the front propagation, an hyperbolic differential equation is introduced as an extension of the model.
Critical temperature reduction $ΔT_c$ is considered for a thin film of a layered superconductor (S) with a rough surface covered by a thick layer of a normal metal (N). The roughness of the SN interface increases the penetration of electrons from the normal metal into the superconductor and leads to an enhancement of the proximity effect. The value of $ΔT_c$ induced by the roughness of the SN interface can be much higher than $ΔT_c$ for a film with a plain surface for an extremely anisotropic layered superconductor with the coherence lengths $ξ_a,ξ_b\ggξ_c$.
We present the results of theoretical study of surface state properties in a two-dimensional model for triplet $p$-wave superconductors. We derive boundary conditions for Eilenberger equations at rough interfaces and develop the approach for self-consistent solution for the spatial dependence of $p_{x}$ and $p_{x}+i~p_{y}$ -wave pair potentials. In the $p_{x}$ case we demonstrate the robustness of the zero-energy peak in the density of states (DoS) with respect to surface roughness, in contrast to the suppression of such a peak in the case of $d_{xy}$ symmetry. This effect is due to stability …
Green function techniques for studying nonequilibrium processes in dirty two-band superconductors are discussed. Perturbation expansions and Green function equations are developed. A time dependent modification of the Usadel equation is given.
Green's function techniques for studying nonequilibrium processes in two-band superconductor are discussed. Perturbation expansions and Green's function equations are developed. A time dependent modification of the Ginsburg-Landau equation is given.
We study the physical properties of a ballistic heterostructure made of a ferromagnet (FM) and a spin-triplet superconductor (TSC) with a layered structure stacking along the direction perpendicular to the planes where a chiral px+ipy pairing occurs and assuming spin dependent processes at the interface. We use a self-consistent Bogoliubov-de Gennes approach on a three-dimensional lattice to obtain the spatial profiles of the pairing amplitude and the magnetization. We find that, depending on the strength of the ferromagnetic exchange field, the ground state of the system can have two distinct…
We study the proximity-induced superconducting correlations as well as the local density of states of a ferromagnet, in a ferromagnet/s-wave superconductor heterostructure. We include the effects of spin-flip scattering, non-ideal interfaces, and the presence of impurities in the sample. We employ the quasiclassical theory of superconductivity, solving the Usadel equation with emphasis on obtaining transparent analytical results. As our main result, we report that in a certain parameter regime the spatial oscillations of the anomalous (superconducting) part of the Green's function induced in t…
The magnetic field effect in the Josephson tunneling between two d-wave superconductors are investigated. When the crystal orientation of one (or each) superconductor relative to the interface normal is such that midgap states exist at the interface, there is a component of the tunneling current due to the midgap states. For a junction with a flat {001}|{110} or {100}|{110} interface, this component is the predominant contribution to the current. The predicted current-field dependence differs entirely from the conventional Fraunhofer pattern, in agreement with a published measurement. This is …
We study macroscopic quantum tunneling of interfaces separating normal and superconducting regions in type-I superconductors. Mathematical model is developed, that describes dissipative quantum escape of a two-dimensional manifold from a planar potential well. It corresponds to, e.g., a current-driven quantum depinning of the interface from a grain boundary or from artificially manufactured pinning layer. Effective action is derived and instantons of the equations of motion are investigated. Crossover between thermal activation and quantum tunneling is studied and the crossover temperature is …
The Landau-Khalatnikov time-dependent equation is applied to describe the crystallization process of the ordered vortex lattice in high temperature superconductors after a sudden application of a magnetic field. Dynamic coexistence of a stable ordered phase and an unstable disordered phase, with a sharp interface between them, is demonstrated. The transformation to the equilibrium ordered state proceeds by movement of this interface from the sample center toward its edge. The theoretical analysis dictates specific conditions for the creation of a propagating interface, and provides the time sc…
The anisotropy of the London penetration depth is evaluated for two-band superconductors with arbitrary inter- and intra-band scattering times. If one of the bands is clean and the other is dirty in the absence of inter-band scattering, the anisotropy is dominated by the Fermi surface of the clean band and is weakly temperature dependent. The inter-band scattering also suppress the temperature dependence of the anisotropy.
In superconductors with three or more bands, time-reversal symmetry (TRS) may be broken in the presence of repulsive interband couplings, resulting in a pair of degenerate states characterized by opposite chiralities. We consider a Josephson junction between a three-band superconductor with broken TRS and a single-band superconductor. Phenomena such as asymmetric critical currents, subharmonic Shapiro steps and symmetric Fraunhhofer patterns are revealed theoretically. Existing experimental results are discussed in terms of the present work.
We analyze the transport properties of contacts between unconventional superconductor and normal diffusive metal in the framework of the extended circuit theory. We obtain a general boundary condition for the Keldysh-Nambu Green's functions at the interface that is valid for arbitrary transparencies of the interface. This allows us to investigate the voltage-dependent conductance (conductance spectrum) of a diffusive normal metal (DN)/ unconventional singlet superconductor junction in both ballistic and diffusive cases. For d-wave superconductor, we calculate conductance spectra numerically fo…
In order to clarify the influence of (the presence of) the broken time-reversal symmetry state (BTRSS) induced near the interface, tunneling conductance spectra in normal metal / $d_{x^{2}-y^{2}}$-wave superconductor junctions are calculated on the basis of the quasiclassical Green's function method. The spatial dependence of the pair potential in the superconductor side is determined self-consistently. We discuss two types of the symmetry on the BTRSS; i) $d_{x^{2}-y^{2}}$+is-wave state and ii) $d_{x^{2}-y^{2}}$+i$d_{xy}$-wave state. It is shown that the amplitude of the subdominant component…
It has been shown that interband mixing of gradients of two order parameters (drag effect) in an isotropic bulk two-band superconductor plays important role - such a quantity of the intergradients coupling exists that the two-band superconductor is characterized with a single coherence length and a single Ginzburg-Landau (GL) parameter. Other quantities or neglecting of the drag effect lead to existence of two coherence lengths and dynamical instability due to violation of the phase relations between the order parameters. Thus so-called type-1.5 superconductors are impossible. An approximate m…
A recently developed method [A. Shelankov and M. Ozana, Phys. Rev. B 61, 7077 (2000)] is applied to investigate d-wave superconductors in the vicinity of (rough) surfaces. While this method allows the incorporation of arbitrary interfaces into the quasiclassical technique, we discuss, as examples, diffusive surfaces and boundaries with small tilted mirrors (facets). The properties of the surface enter via the scattering matrix in the boundary condition for the quasiclassical Green's function. The diffusive surface is described by an ensemble of random scattering matrices. We find that the fluc…
We explore the flux front patterns during virgin penetration and after remagnetization in the iron-based superconductor Ba(Fe_{1-x}Co_{x})_{2}As_{2}. After remagnetization we observe an instability characterized by turbulent dynamics at the vortex-antivortex boundary. Associated with the turbulent flux boundary a band of excess current density is observed. The turbulence is contrasted with the instability observed in the cuprate superconductors. Our results suggest turbulent instability at the vortex-antivortex interface may be a common feature in all remagnetized type-II superconductors.
In a setup where two ferromagnetic electrodes are attached to a superconductor, Andreev bound states are induced at both ferromagnet/superconductor (FM/SC) interfaces. We study how these states propagate through the SC and interact with each other. As a result of this interaction, the energetic positions of the Andreev states are not anymore determined solely by the magnetic properties of a single interface, but also depend on the interface distance and the relative magnetization orientation of the FM contacts. We discuss how these bound states show up as distinct peaks in the nonlocal conduct…
Electronic band structure of boron-rich low-temperature superconductors UB12-like dodecaboride YB12 and CaB6-like hexaboride YB6 are investigated using the first-principle FLMTO calculations and compared with one for layered YB2 and the new "medium-Tc" superconductor MgB2 diborides.
We report the first observation of superconductivity in heterostructure consisting of an insulating ferroelectric film (Ba$_{0.8}$Sr$_{0.2}$TiO$_3$) grown on an insulating parent compound of La$_2$CuO$_4$ with [001] orientation. The heterostructure was prepared by magnetron sputtering on a non-atomically-flat surface with inhomogeneities of the order of 1-2 nm. The measured superconducting transition temperature T$_c$ is about 30K. We have shown that superconductivity is confined near the interface region. Application of a weak magnetic field perpendicular to the interface leads to the appeara…
High-temperature superconductors exhibit a wide variety of novel excitations. If contacted with a topological insulator, the lifting of spin rotation symmetry in the surface states can lead to the emergence of unconventional superconductivity and novel particles. In pursuit of this possibility, we fabricated high critical-temperature (Tc ~ 85 K) superconductor/topological insulator (Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+delta/Bi2Te2Se) junctions. Below 75 K, a zero-bias conductance peak (ZBCP) emerges in the differential conductance spectra of this junction. The magnitude of the ZBCP is suppressed at the same rate fo…
We study the spin-lattice relaxation rate of nuclear magnetic resonance in a two-band superconductor. Both conventional and unconventional pairing symmetries for an arbitrary band structure in the clean limit are considered. The importance of the inter-band interference effects is emphasized. The calculations in the conventional case with two isotropic gaps are performed using a two-band generalization of Eliashberg theory.
