We present a dispersion relation in the pion-mass squared, which static quantities (nucleon mass, magnetic moment, etc.) obey under the assumption of analyticity in the entire complex $m_π^2$ plane modulo a cut at negative $m_π^2$ associated with pion production. The relation is verified here in a number of examples of nucleon and $Δ$-isobar properties computed in chiral perturbation theory up to order $p^3$. We outline a method to obtain relations for other mass-dependencies, and illustrate it on a two-loop example.
We study the particle production in the early stage of the ultrarelativistic heavy-ion collisions. To this end the Boltzmann kinetic equations for gluons and pions with elastic rescattering are considered together with a simple model for the parton-hadron conversion process (hadronisation). It is shown that the overpopulation of the gluon phase space in the initial state leads to an intermediate stage of Bose enhancement in the low-momentum gluon sector which due to the gluon-pion conversion process is then reflected in the final distribution function of pions. This pattern is very similar to …
We discuss selected and important features of hadronic molecules as one of promising forms of exotic hadrons near thresholds. Using examples of $D \bar D^*$ systems such as $X(3872)$ and $Z_c$, emphasis is put on the roles of the one pion exchange interaction between them and their coupling to intrinsic quark states. Thus hadronic molecules emerge as admixtures of the dominant long-range hadron structure and short-range quark structure. For the pion exchange interaction, properties of the tensor force are analyzed in detail. More coupled channels supply more attractions, and heavier constituen…
The final stage of a relativistic heavy-ion collision is a hadron gas. Final-state interactions therein distort the $p_T$ spectrum of particles coming from the phase transition upon cooling the quark-gluon plasma. Using recent state-of-the-art parametrizations of pion interactions we provide theoretical computations of the pionic depth of the gas: how likely is it that a given pion rescatters in it (we find a high probability around $p_T=0.5$ GeV at midrapidity, corresponding to the formation of the $ρ$ resonance), a comparison of the collision and Bjorken expansion rates, and how many pions m…
Restrictions on the Hadronic Contribution to the Muon $(g-2)$-factor and to the Pion Electromagnetic Formfactor from Analytical Properties of the Pion Electromagnetic Formfactor
Vector meson production and nucleon resonance analysis in a coupled-channel approach for energies m_N < sqrt(s) < 2 GeV I: pion-induced results and hadronic parameters
The analysis on the hadron-hadron scattering at high energies in the framework of holographic QCD is presented. Combining the Pomeron exchange kernel and the hadron-Pomeron couplings which are obtained from the bottom-up AdS/QCD models, we calculate the total cross sections. Our calculation for the nucleon-nucleon scattering is consistent with the experimental data including the recent ones measured by the TOTEM collaboration at the LHC. Within the framework, one can consider other processes involving other hadrons. As examples to show this feature of the model, the resulting total cross secti…
Taylor's Series and Dispersion Relation Analyses of the Vector Pion Form Factor and their Comparison with Perturbative and Non Perturbative Calculations
One of the biggest challenges in contemporary physics is understanding the origin and dynamics of the internal structure of hadrons which, at a fundamental level, is described by quantum chromodynamics (QCD). Taking great prominence amongst hadrons are pions and kaons which, despite being the lightest hadrons in nature, their very existence is intimately connected to those mechanisms responsible for almost all of the mass of the visible matter. In this manuscript we discuss many aspects of the pion and kaon structure via light front wave functions and generalized parton distributions, and a co…
Calculations of central exclusive diffractive di-pion continuum production are presented in the Regge-eikonal approach. Data from ISR, STAR, CDF and CMS were analyzed and compared with theoretical description. We also consider theoretical predictions for LHC, possible nuances and problems of calculations and prospects of investigations at present and future hadron colliders.
The possibility of formation of Bose-Einstein Condensation (BEC) is studied in $pp$ collisions at $\sqrt s$ = 7 TeV at the Large Hadron Collider. A thermodynamically consistent non-extensive formulation of the identified hadron transverse momentum distributions is used to estimate the critical temperature required to form BEC of charged pions, which are the most abundant species in a multi-particle production process in hadronic and nuclear collisions. The obtained results have been contrasted with the systems produced in Pb-Pb collisions to have a better understanding. We observe an explicit …
