Recently, a field theoretic model for a UV complete theory of gravity has been proposed by Horava. This theory is a non-relativistic renormalizable gravity theory which coincides with Einstein's general relativity at large distances. Subsequently Lü et al have formulated the modified Friedmann equations and have presented a solution in vacuum. In the present work, we rewrite the modified FRW equations in the form of usual FRW equations in Einstein gravity and consequences has been analyzed. Also the thermodynamics of the FRW universe has been studied.
The partial Hamiltonian analysis of the Hořava-type action presented in the paper by M. Chaichian, S. Nojiri, S. D. Odintsov, M. Oksanen, A. Tureanu (Class. Quant. Grav. 27 (2011) 185021) is incorrect; for the authors' choice of variables, a covariant shift, instead of a contravariant shift which is the one usually used in General Relativity (GR) in ADM variables, the true algebra of constraints differs from what they presented. The algebra of constraints for their choice of variables is explicitly given for GR and compared with the standard algebra.
In a recent paper [Phys. Rev. D 92:084012, 2015], the author studied the classical $(1+1)$-dimensional Friedmann-Robertson-Walker (FRW) universe filled with a perfect fluid in Hořava-Lifshitz (HL) theory of gravity. This theory is dynamical due to the anisotropic scaling of space and time. It also resembles the Jackiw-Teitelboim model, in which a dilatonic degree of freedom is necessary for dynamics. In this paper, I will give one step further in the understanding of (1+1)-dimensional HL cosmology by means of the quantization of the FRW universe filled with a perfect fluid with equation of sta…
The $(1+1)$-dimensional Friedmann-Robertson-Walker (FRW) universe filled with a perfect fluid with equation of state $p=ωρ$ is analyzed through the view of Ho\v rava-Lifshitz (HL) theory of gravity. In this theory, the anisotropic scaling of space and time breaks Lorentz invariance of General Relativity (GR) in such a way that the gravitational action is no longer a topological invariant and the theory becomes dynamical. With the introduction of a perfect fluid through Schutz formalism, it is shown that the resulting dynamical theory is very similar to the two-dimensional Jackiw-Teitelboim (JT…
Stability of the Einstein static universe versus the linear scalar, vector and tensor perturbations is investigated in the context of deformed Hořava-Lifshitz cosmology inspired by entropic force scenario. A general stability condition against the linear scalar perturbations is obtained. Using this general condition, it is shown that there is no stable Einstein static universe for the case of flat universe, $k=0$. For the the special case of large values of running parameter of HL gravity $ω$, in a positively curved universe $k>0$, the domination of the quintessence and phantom matter fields w…
In this article we investigate the Hawking radiation of vector particles from the apparent horizon of a Friedmann-Robertson-Walker (FRW) universe in the framework of quantum tunneling method. Furthermore we use Proca equation, a relativistic wave equation for a massive/massless spin-1 particle (massless $γ$ photons, weak massive $W^{\pm}$ and $Z^{0}$ bosons, strong massless gluons and $ρ$ and $ω$ mesons) together with a Painlevé spacetime metric for the FRW universe. We solve the Proca equation via Hamilton-Jacobi (HJ) equation and the WKB approximation method. We recover the same result for t…
In 1963, Zel'dovich devised a method to define the mass of a closed Friedmann-Robertson-Walker (FRW) universe, showing that by this definition it is exactly zero. Rounding out this result, we show that the masses of flat and open universes are (unsurprisingly) divergent. We also present closed-form solutions for the trajectory of the boundary of a finite spherical patch of homogeneous pressureless dust for each class of curvature, exploring the dynamics of the boundary in detail. In all cases, the FRW patch emerges from a white hole. In the closed case, the patch expands to a maximum radius be…
In an accelerated expanding universe, one can expect the existence of an event horizon. It may be interesting to study the thermodynamics of the Friedmann-Robertson-Walker (FRW) universe at the event horizon. Considering the usual Hawking temperature, the first law of thermodynamics does not hold on the event horizon. To satisfy the first law of thermodynamics, it is necessary to redefine Hawking temperature. In this paper, using the redefinition of Hawking temperature and applying the first law of thermodynamics on the event horizon, the Friedmann equations are obtained in f(R) gravity from t…
We study the modified Friedmann equation in the Friedmann-Robertson-Walker universe with quantum effect. Our modified results mainly stem from the new entropy-area relation and the novel idea of T. Padmanabhan, who considers the cosmic space to be emerged from the cosmic time progresses, so that the expansion rate of the universe is determined by the difference of degrees of freedom between the holographic surface and the bulk inside. We also discuss the possibility of having bounce cosmological solution from the modified Friedmann equation in spatially flat geometry.
Both Stefan-Boltzmann law and the Casimir effect, in a universe described by the FRW metric with zero curvature, are calculated. These effects are described by Thermo Field Dynamics (TFD). The gravitational energy-momentum tensor is defined in the context of Teleparallel Equivalent to General Relativity (TEGR). Each of the two effects gives a consistent prediction with what is observed on a cosmological scale. One of the effect establishes a minimum range for the deceleration parameter. While another leads to the conclusion that a possible cosmological constant has a very small order of magnit…
When the cosmological constant is non-zero the dynamics of the cosmological model based on Horava-Lifshitz gravity in a non-flat universe is characterized by using the qualitative theory of differential equations.
FRW universe in Horava-Lifshitz (HL) gravity model filled with a combination of dark matter and dark energy in the form of variable modified Chaplygin gas (VMCG) is considered. The permitted values of the VMCG parameters are determined by the recent astrophysical and cosmological observational data. Here we present the Hubble parameter in terms of the observable parameters $Ω_{dm0}$, $Ω_{vmcg0}$, $H_{0}$, redshift $z$ and other parameters like $α$, $A$, $γ$ and $n$. From Stern data set (12 points), we have obtained the bounds of the arbitrary parameters by minimizing the $χ^{2}$ test. The best…
By applying the unified first law of thermodynamics on the apparent horizon of FRW universe, we get the entropy relation for the apparent horizon in quasi-topological gravity theory. Throughout the paper, the results of considering the Hayward-Kodama and Cai-Kim temperatures are also addressed. Our study shows that whenever, there is no energy exchange between the various parts of cosmos, we can get an expression for the apparent horizon entropy in quasi-topological gravity, which is in agreement with other attempts followed different approaches. The effects of a mutual interaction between the…
Within the scope of a FRW cosmological model we have studied the role of spinor field in the evolution of the Universe when it is non-minimally coupled to the gravitational one. We have considered a few types of nonlinearity. It was found that if the spinor field nonlinearity describes an ordinary matter such as radiation, the presence of non-minimality becomes essential and leads to the rapid expansion of the Universe, whereas if the spinor field nonlinearity describes a dark energy, the evolution of the Universe is dominated by it and the difference between the minimal and non-minimally coup…
