Upper bounds at the weak scale are obtained for all $λ_{ij}λ_{im}$ type product couplings of the scalar leptoquark model which may affect K-K(bar), B_d-B_d(bar), and B_s-B_s(bar)$ mixing, as well as leptonic and semileptonic K and B decays. Constraints are obtained for both real and imaginary parts of the couplings. We also discuss the role of leptoquarks in explaining the anomalously large CP-violating phase in B_s-B_s(bar) mixing.
We investigate the viability of extending the Standard Model with $S_1$ and $S_3$ scalar leptoquarks when the flavour structure is parametrized in terms of Froggatt-Nielsen charges. In contrast to a similar analysis with a vector leptoquark, we find essentially two solutions for the charges that fit the experimental constraints, which are dominated by the current tensions in $B$ decays. These two scenarios differ in their estimate of the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon, $(g-2)$, but they both predict sizeable contributions to $τ\toμγ$, $\bar B_s\toτ^\pmμ^\mp$ and $B^+\to K^+τ^+μ^-$ decay…
We investigate the constraints on the leptoquark Yukawa couplings and Higgs-leptoquark quartic couplings for scalar doublet leptoquark $\tilde{R}_2$, scalar triplet leptoquark $\vec S_3$ and their combination with both three generations and one generation from perturbative unitarity and vacuum stability. Perturbative unitarity of all the dimensionless couplings have been studied via one- and two-loop beta-functions. Introduction of new $SU(2)$ multiplets in terms of these leptoquarks fabricate Landau poles at two-loop level in the gauge coupling $g_2$ at $10^{19.7}$ GeV and $10^{14.4}$ GeV, re…
Neutrino-nucleus coherent scattering measurements by the COHERENT collaboration provide us with a unique capability to test various beyond the standard model scenarios. In this work, we constrain scalar leptoquarks (LQs) using the COHERENT data. LQs arise in many extensions of the Standard Model (SM). Generally, the mass of the LQs is assumed to be very high to avoid the bounds from proton decay. However, there are low-scale LQ models which prohibit proton decay by construction. We consider two electroweak doublet scalar LQ models with hypercharge Y=1/6, and Y=7/6 and provide the bounds in the…
Recently, several anomalies in flavor physics have been observed, and it was noticed that leptoquarks might account for the deviations from the Standard Model. In this work, we examine the effects of new physics originating from a scalar leptoquark model on the kaon sector. The leptoquark we consider is a TeV-scale particle and within the reach of the LHC. We use the existing experimental data on the several kaon processes including $K^{0}-\bar{K}^{0}$ mixing, rare decays $K^{+} \rightarrow π^{+} ν\barν$, $ K_L \rightarrow π^0 ν\barν$, short-distance part of $K_L\rightarrow μ^{+}μ^{-}$, and le…
Gauge models with massive vector leptoquarks at the TeV scale provide a successful framework for addressing the B-physics anomalies. Among them, the 4321 model has been considered as the low-energy limit of some complete theories of flavor. In this work, we study the renormalization group evolution of this model, laying particular emphasis on the scalar sector. We find that, despite the asymptotic freedom of the gauge couplings, Landau poles can arise at relatively low scale due to the fast running of quartic couplings. Moreover, we discuss the possibility of radiative electroweak symmetry bre…
Fermion masses may arise via mixing of elementary fermions with composite fermions of a strong sector in scenarios of strongly-coupled electroweak symmetry breaking. The strong sector may contain leptoquark states with masses as light as several hundred GeV. In the present study we focus on the scalar modes of such leptoquarks since their bosonic couplings are determined completely and hence their production cross sections only depend on their masses. We study all the possible gauge-invariant non-derivative and single-derivative couplings of the scalar leptoquarks to the quarks and leptons, wh…
We show that FCNC processes are unavoidable for leptoquarks that couple to left handed quarks, and derive new FCNC bounds from neutral meson mixing. Despite being induced only at one loop, these processes lead to significant bounds since the leptoquark contributions do not suffer from GIM cancellations. Studying the implications of these bounds we find that (i) The D-Dbar mixing bound is the first significant FCNC bound from the up sector. Combining it with FCNC bounds from the down sector we arrive at a bound on the first generation couplings. (ii) The K-Kbar and D-Dbar mixings bound g^2/M wh…
We study the phenomenology of electric dipole moments (EDMs) induced in various scalar leptoquark models. We consider generic leptoquark couplings to quarks and leptons and match to Standard Model effective field theory. After evolving the resulting operators to low energies, we connect to EDM experiments by using up-to-date hadronic, nuclear, and atomic matrix elements. We show that current experimental limits set strong constraints on the possible CP-violating phases in leptoquark models. Depending on the quarks and leptons involved in the interaction, the existing searches for EDMs of lepto…
We investigate scenarios with $\mathcal{O}(1\mathrm{\,TeV})$ scalar leptoquarks that act as portals between the Standard Model and Dark Matter. We assume that Dark Matter is a scalar singlet $S$ which couples to a scalar leptoquark $Δ$ and the Higgs boson via the terms in the scalar potential. In addition, the leptoquark is endowed with Yukawa couplings to quarks and leptons that may address the anomalies in $B$ meson decays. We consider the $SS$ annihilation cross sections to estimate the Dark Matter relic abundance and explore the interplay between astrophysical, collider and flavour physics…
We make a comprehensive study of indirect bounds on scalar leptoquarks that couple chirally and diagonally to the first generation by examining available data from low energy experiments as well as from high energy e+ e- and p pbar accelerators. The strongest bounds turn out to arise from low energy data: For leptoquarks that couple to right--handed quarks, the most stringent bound comes from atomic parity violation. For leptoquarks that couple to left--handed quarks, there are two mass regions: At low masses the bounds arise from atomic parity violation or from universality in leptonic pi dec…

We derive new bounds on scalar leptoquark couplings from K^0 K^0 bar, D^0 D^0 bar and B^0 B^0 bar mixing. Although leptoquarks contribute to these processes only at one loop, their contribution is large, due to the lack of GIM cancelation. Our bounds have two important features: (i) They bound g^4/M^2, in contrast to the hitherto known bounds on g^2/M^2, and are consequently stronger at high masses. (ii) The bound from D^0 D^0 bar mixing is the first FCNC bound in the up sector for chirally-coupled leptoquarks, and is similar in strength to the K^0 K^0 bar and B^0 B^0 bar bounds. Together, the…
The anomalies in the $B$-meson sector, in particular $R_{K^{(*)}}$ and $R_{D^{(*)}}$, are often interpreted as hints for physics beyond the Standard Model. To this end, leptoquarks or a heavy $Z'$ represent the most popular SM extensions which can explain the observations. However, adding these fields by hand is not very satisfactory as it does not address the big questions like a possible embedding into a unified gauge theory. On the other hand, light leptoquarks within a unified framework are challenging due to additional constraints such as lepton flavor violation. The existing accounts typ…
Rare decay modes of the newly discovered standard-model-like Higgs boson $h$ may test the flavor changing couplings in the leptoquark sector through the process $h \to τ^\mpμ^\pm$. Motived by the recently reported excess in LHC data from the CMS detector, we found that a predicted branching fraction Br($h \to τ^\mpμ^\pm$) at the level of 1\% is possible even though the coupling parameters are subjected to the stringent constraint from the null observation of $τ\toμγ$, where the destructive cancellation among amplitudes is achievable by fine tuning.
Leptoquarks are ubiquitous in several extensions of the Standard Model and seem to be able to accommodate the universality-violation-driven $B$-meson-decay anomalies and the $(g-2)_μ$ discrepancy interpreted as deviations from the Standard Model predictions. In addition, the search for lepton-flavour violation in the charged sector is, at present, a major research program that could also be facilitated by the dynamics generated by leptoquarks. In this article, we consider a rather wide framework of both scalar and vector leptoquarks as the generators of lepton-flavour violation in processes in…
We address the issue of model dependence of partial proton decays due to exchange of a single scalar leptoquark within a minimal viable SU(5) framework. The minimal setup predicts a flavor part of the proton decay widths for channels with anti-neutrinos in the final state to depend solely on the known masses and mixing parameters of the quark sector and one extra phase. We accordingly establish an accurate lower limit on the mass of the scalar leptoquark in connection with the relevant experimental constraints on the matter stability. The ratio of proton decay widths for channels with the posi…
We study a classically accidental scale-invariant extension of the Standard Model (SM) containing three additional fields, a vector leptoquark ($ V_μ $), a real scalar ($ ϕ$), and a neutral Majorana fermion ($ χ$) as a dark matter (DM) candidate. The scalar $ ϕ$ (scalon) and Majorana fermion $ χ$ are both singlets under the SM gauge group, while $ V_μ $ has (\textbf{3}, \textbf{1}, 2/3) quantum numbers under the $ SU(3)_{c} \times SU(2)_{L} \times U(1)_{Y} $. The Majorana DM couples to the SM sector via both Higgs and leptoquark portals. We perform a scan over the independent parameters to det…
There has been persistent disagreement between the Standard Model (SM) prediction and experimental measurements of $R_{D^{(*)}}=\mathcal{B}(\bar B \rightarrow D^{(*)} τ\barν_τ)/\mathcal{B}(\bar B \rightarrow D^{(*)} l \barν_l)$ $(l=e,μ)$. This anomaly may be addressed by introducing interactions beyond the Standard Model involving new states, such as leptoquarks. Since the processes involved are quark flavor changing, any new states would need to couple to at least two different generations of quarks, requiring a non-trivial flavor structure in the quark sector while avoiding stringent constra…
We show that by adding a single new scalar particle to the Standard Model, a TeV-scale leptoquark with the quantum numbers of a right-handed down quark, one can explain in a natural way three of the most striking anomalies of particle physics: the violation of lepton universality in $\bar B\to\bar K\ell^+\ell^-$ decays, the enhanced $\bar B\to D^{(*)}τ\barν$ decay rates, and the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon. Constraints from other precision measurements in the flavor sector can be satisfied without fine-tuning. Our model predicts enhanced $\bar B\to\bar K^{(*)}ν\barν$ decay rates and …
A colored weak singlet scalar state with hypercharge 4/3 is one of the possible candidates for the explanation of the unexpectedly large forward-backward asymmetry in t tbar production as measured by the CDF and D0 experiments. We investigate the role of this state in a plethora of flavor changing neutral current processes and precision observables of down-quarks and charged leptons. Our analysis includes tree- and loop-level mediated observables in the K and B systems, the charged lepton sector, as well as the Z to b bbar decay width. We perform a global fit of the relevant scalar couplings. …
We study limits from dilepton searches on leptoquark completions to the Standard Model in the parameter space motivated by anomalies in the $b \rightarrow s$ sector. After a full Run-2 analysis by LHCb, the disparity in lepton flavour violation has disappeared. However, the mismatch in angular distributions as well as in $B_s \rightarrow μ^+ μ^-$ partial width is still unresolved and still implies a possible new physics contribution. We probe three models of leptoquarks -- scalar models $S_3$ and $R_2$ as well as vector leptoquark model $U_1$ using non-resonant dilepton searches to place limit…
We investigate the phenomenology of light GeV-scale fermionic dark matter in $U(1)_{L_μ- L_τ}$ gauge extension of the Standard Model. Heavy neutral fermions alongside with a $S_1(\overline{3}$,$1$,$1/3$) scalar leptoquark and an inert scalar doublet are added to address the flavor anomalies and light neutrino mass respectively. The light gauge boson associated with $U(1)_{L_μ-L_τ}$ gauge group mediates dark to visible sector and helps to obtain the correct relic density. Aided with a colored scalar, we constrain the new model parameters by using the branching ratios of various $b \to sll$ and …
In this proceeding, I summarize results on various new physics extensions of the Standard Model, for models with and without dark matter candidates. I discuss current constraints as well as rates and discovery prospects at future colliders.
We study the two scalar leptoquarks capable of generating chirally-enhanced, sign-dependent contributions to lepton magnetic dipole moments (MDMs) and electric dipole moments (EDMs), $R_2\sim (\mathbf{3}, \mathbf{2}, 7/6)$ and $S_1\sim (\mathbf{3}, \mathbf{1}, -1/3)$. We consider the case in which the electron and muon sectors are decoupled, and leptoquark couplings are assigned complex values. Adopting the coupling ansatz that the electron dipole operator is generated by charm-containing loops, and muon dipole operator by top-containing loops, we find that both minimal leptoquark models remai…
Several measurements on $R_D, R_{D^*}$, and $R_{J/ ψ}$ by the BaBar, Belle, and LHCb experiments show significant deviations from their Standard Model (SM) predictions, which illustrate the fact that the concept of lepton flavor universality (LFU) is violated in semileptonic $B$ meson as well as leptonic $Υ(ns)(n=1,2,3)$ decays. Recently BaBar experiment announced that at $1.8σ$ level, $R_Υ(3s)= {\rm Br}(Υ(3s) \to τ\barτ)/{\rm Br}(Υ(3s) \to μ\barμ)$ shows an acceptance with the SM. These fascinating findings point towards the possible implication of new physics in the $b \to c τ\barν$ transiti…
By including the effects of superstring thresholds, we reconsider minimal string unification together with the requirement of producing a supersymmetry-breaking gluino condensate in the hidden sector. This gives, for examples of phenomenologically-viable $Z_8'$ and other related orbifolds, the constraint that $0.1215 \leq α_s(M_Z) \leq 0.1270$. In such models, a hidden photino can be a source of cosmological dark matter detectable by gravitational microlensing.
We introduce the public computer code HiggsSignals, which can be used to test the predictions from models with arbitrary Higgs sectors against experimental measurements. Following a brief description of the code, several examples of HiggsSignals applications are given. We derive constraints on extended Higgs sectors taking into account the measured rates for the observed LHC Higgs signal in all available channels. The results are presented both in a model-independent framework with coupling scale factors that parametrize deviations from the Standard Model, and in a model-dependent example wher…
In this proceeding, I discuss several models that extend the scalar sector of the Standard Model by additional matter states. I here focus on results for models with singlet extensions, which have been obtained recently and update some of the results presented in previous work. In more detail, I will briefly review the option to test a strong first-order electroweak phase transition using precision measurements in the electroweak sector, as well as production cross-sections for non-standard scalar production at Higgs factories.
We study the mass, the mixing and the coupling with $Z$ boson of the lightest Higgs boson in the next-to-minimal supersymmetric standard model. The vacuum structure of the Higgs potential is analyzed and the new false vacua are discussed. The significant parameter region can be excluded by requiring that the realistic vacuum is deeper than false vacua, which result in constraints on the properties of the lightest Higgs boson.
Rare $K \to πν\bar ν$ decays, being dominated by short distance contributions within the Standard Model (SM), open a window for New Physics (NP) searches at low energies. The $ K \to πν\barν$ branching ratios are expected to be measured with $ \sim 10\% $ accuracies by NA62/CERN and KOTO/JPARC. The theoretical uncertainties of branching ratios within the SM are well under control. In the $ B $ sector, it is tentative to explain the $ B $-meson anomalies $ R_{D^{(\ast)}} $ and/or $ R_{K^{(\ast)}} $ by effects of physics beyond the SM. Although NP seems to be present in the third fermion generat…
We identify the two scalar leptoquarks capable of generating sign-dependent contributions to leptonic magnetic moments, $R_2\sim (\mathbf{3}, \mathbf{2}, 7/6)$ and $S_1\sim (\mathbf{3}, \mathbf{1}, -1/3)$, as favoured by current measurements. We consider the case in which the electron and muon sectors are decoupled, and real-valued Yukawa couplings are specified using an up-type quark mass-diagonal basis. Contributions to $Δa_e$ arise from charm-containing loops and $Δa_μ$ from top-containing loops -- hence avoiding dangerous LFV constraints, particularly from $μ\to e γ$. The strongest constra…
Models with extended quark sector affect the CP asymmetry in the $B\to ψK_{S}$ decay, $a_{ψK_{S}}$, in two ways: First, the top-mediated box diagram is not necessarily the only important contribution to $B-\bar{B}$ mixing. Second, the $3\times 3$ CKM matrix is no longer unitary. We analyze the constraints that follow from the CDF measurement, $a_{ψK_{S}} =0.79^{+0.41}_{-0.44}$, on the mixing parameters of extended quark sectors. Most noticeably, we find significant constraints on the phase of the relevant flavor changing $Z$ coupling in models with extra down quarks in vector-like representati…
Different approaches are used for the calculation of the SM-like Higgs boson mass in the MSSM: the fixed-order diagrammatic approach is accurate for low SUSY scales; the EFT approach, for high SUSY scales. Hybrid approaches, combining fixed-order and EFT calculations, allow to obtain a precise prediction also for intermediary SUSY scales. Here, we briefly discuss the hybrid approach implemented into the code FeynHiggs. In addition, we show how the refined Higgs mass prediction was used to define new MSSM Higgs benchmark scenarios.
We propose that three recent anomalies in $B$ meson decays, $R_{D^{(*)}}$, $R_K$, and $P_5'$, might be explained by a single vector leptoquark weak triplet state. The constraints on the parameter space are obtained by considering $t \to b τ^+ ν$ data, lepton flavor universality tests in the kaon sector, bounds on $B \to K^{(*)} \bar νν$, bound on the lepton flavor violating decay $B \to K μτ$, and measurements of $b \to c μ^- \barν$ decays. The presence of such vector leptoquark could be exposed in precise measurements of $t \to b τν$ and $B \to K^{(*)} \bar νν$ decays. The model also predicts…
Motivated by the disagreement between experimental and lattice QCD results on the D_s decay constant we systematically reinvestigate role of leptoquarks in charm meson decays. We consider scalar leptoquarks that transform as a weak interaction triplet, doublet, or singlet in a model independent approach, and also argue that in a particular SU(5) GUT model these leptoquark states, contained in the 45-dimensional Higgs representation, could be safe against proton decay bounds. Using the current experimental measurements in tau, kaon and charm sectors, we find that scalar leptoquarks cannot natur…
Limits are derived on models with extended Higgs sectors, including the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM), by exploiting the data on $τ^+ τ^- + $ 2 jets final states, used by the CDF collaboration to place limits on third generation leptoquarks. The main observation here is that both leptoquark production and associated $b \bar{b}$ Higgs production can lead to $b \bar{b} τ^+ τ^-$ final states.
The Standard Model (SM) is augmented with a $\mathrm{U}(1)_{B-3L_μ} $ gauge symmetry spontaneously broken above the TeV scale when an SM-singlet scalar condenses. Scalar leptoquarks $S_{1(3)} = (\overline{\mathbf{3}},\, \mathbf{1} (\mathbf{3}),\, ^1\!/_3)$ charged under $\mathrm{U}(1)_{B-3L_μ} $ mediate the intriguing effects observed in muon $(g-2)$, $R_{K^{(*)}}$ and $b \to s μ^+ μ^-$, while generically evading all other phenomenological constraints. The fermionic sector is minimally extended with three right-handed neutrinos, and a successful type-I seesaw mechanism is realized. Charged lep…
The measurements of the ratios $R_{K^{(*)}}$ along with $R_{D^{(*)}}$ hint towards lepton flavor non universality which is in disagreement with the standard model. In this work, we reanalyze the four new physics models, which are widely studied in the literature as a candidates for the simultaneous explanations of these measurements. These are, standard model like vector boson (VB), $SU(2)_L$-singlet vector leptoquark ($U_1$), $SU(2)_L$-triplet scalar leptoquark ($S_3$) and $SU(2)_L$ triplet vector leptoquark ($U_3$) models. We assume a coupling only to the third generation in the weak basis, …
We give a brief overview of beyond the Standard Model (BSM) theories with an extended scalar sector and their phenomenological status in the light of recent experimental results. We discuss the relevant theoretical and experimental constraints, and show their impact on the allowed parameter space of two specific models: the real scalar singlet extension of the Standard Model (SM) and the Inert Doublet Model. We emphasize the importance of the LHC measurements, both the direct searches for additional scalar bosons, as well as the precise measurements of properties of the Higgs boson of mass 125…
We perform a model independent analysis so as to constrain the leptoquark (LQ) models from negative searches for $μ\to e γ$, $μ\to 3e$ decays (and analogous processes in the $τ$ sector), and coherent $μ-e$ conversion in nuclei. We considerably improve some constraints obtained by analyses known in the literature, analyses which we show have by far underestimated the LQ contributions to the $μ\to 3e$. In particular we find that the coherent $μ-e$ conversion in nuclei mediated by the photon--conversion mechanism and the $μ\to 3e$ decay are golden plates where the flavor changing leptoquark coupl…
We investigate the $R_{D}$ and $R_{D^*}$ anomalies in the context of non-minimal $SU(5)$, where Higgs sector is extended by adjoint 45-dimensional multiplet. One of the light spectrum of this model could be the scalar triplet leptoquark that is contained in this multiplet. We demonstrate that this particular scalar leptoquark mediation of the transition $b \to c τν$ is capable of simultaneously accounting for both $R_{D}$ and $R_{D^*}$ anomalies. We further emphasize that another Yukawa coupling controls its contribution to $b \to s \ell^+ \ell^-$, ensuring that $R_K$ and $R_{K^*}$ remain cons…
Working in the framework of the Standard Model Effective Field Theory, we study chirality-flipping couplings of the top quark to Higgs and gauge bosons. We discuss in detail the renormalization group evolution to lower energies and investigate direct and indirect contributions to high- and low-energy CP-conserving and CP-violating observables. Our analysis includes constraints from collider observables, precision electroweak tests, flavor physics, and electric dipole moments. We find that indirect probes are competitive or dominant for both CP-even and CP-odd observables, even after accounting…
The phenomenon of CP violation in the standard model (SM) framework and the decay dynamics have been established from the data obtained from the B factories and so far we have not seen anything new. Nevertheless, there have been instances of deviations in many measured observables in the flavor sector, as far as the data and predictions are concerned. Here we will mention some deviations obtained in measurements related to lepton universality, as seen from the data, and try to understand their implications. To accommodate the observed data we will consider a leptoquark model, which seems to be…
We consider a left-right symmetric extension of the Standard Model where the spontaneous breakdown of the left-right symmetry is triggered by doublets. The electroweak $ρ$ parameter is protected from large corrections in this Doublet Left-Right Model (DLRM), contrary to the triplet case. This allows in principle for more diverse patterns of symmetry breaking. We consider several constraints on the gauge and scalar sectors of DLRM: the unitarity of scattering processes involving gauge bosons with longitudinal polarisations, the radiative corrections to the muon $Δr$ parameter and the electrowea…
We argue that the diphoton excess recently reported by ATLAS and CMS can be explained, along with several anomalies seen in the flavor sector, in models where a Standard-Model singlet scalar resonance with mass $M \approx 750$ GeV is produced in gluon fusion via loops containing a scalar color- triplet leptoquark $ϕ$. For a leptoquark mass $M_ϕ\lesssim$ 1 TeV, the production cross section is naturally in the 10 fb range. A large $S \to γγ$ branching ratio can be obtained by coupling the scalar S to new color-singlet fermions $χ$ with electroweak scale masses, which can be part of an $SU(2)_L$ …
In this thesis, we start by reviewing all constraints applying on self-interacting DM with a light mediator considering well-known Higgs portal and Kinetic Mixing portal models as concrete examples. Then, we elaborate on the Sommerfeld effect, and we study its many implications on self-interacting DM models with light mediator. Next, we investigate how to account for the DM relic abundance in such portal models which present a generic structure with three populations (Standard Model, DM and mediator particles) connected to each other through three interactions resulting from two coupling stren…
We investigate Majorana dark matter in a new variant of $U(1)_{L_μ-L_τ}$ gauge extension of Standard Model, where the scalar sector is enriched with an inert doublet and a $(\bar{3},1,1/3)$ scalar leptoquark. We compute the WIMP-nucleon cross section in leptoquark portal and the relic density mediated by inert doublet components, leptoquark and the new $Z^{\prime}$ boson. We constrain the parameter space consistent with Planck limit on relic density, PICO-60 and LUX bounds on spin-dependent direct detection cross section. Furthermore, we constrain the new couplings from the present experimenta…
We investigate the potential for discovering new physics through the low-energy scattering processes $e^-p\to e^-(μ^-)Λ_c$, which could be accessible in the forthcoming $ep$ scattering experiments once adapted to our proposed setups. In the framework of a general low-energy effective Lagrangian, we demonstrate that, compared with the conventional flavor-changing neutral-current weak decays of charmed hadrons and the dilepton productions at high-energy colliders, the low-energy scattering processes can provide more competitive potentials for hunting the underlying new physics. In some specific …
We study the phenomenological constraints and consequences in the flavor sector, of introducing a new fourth generation $\mathcal{Z}_{2}$ odd vector-like lepton doublet along with a Standard Model (SM) singlet scalar and an $SU(2)_{L}$ singlet scalar leptoquark carrying electromagnetic charge of $+2/3$, both odd under a $\mathcal{Z}_{2}$. We show that with little fine tuning among the various Yukawa couplings in the new physics (NP) Lagrangian along with the CKM parameters, the model is able to push the theoretical value of $R(D^{*})^{th}$ from $0.252 \pm 0.003$ to $0.263 \pm 0.051$ and $R(D)^…
The trilinear couplings of squarks and sleptons to the Higgs bosons can give rise to a spectrum of bound states with exotic quantum numbers, for example, those of a leptoquark.
Latest Lattice results on $D$ form factors evaluation from first principles show that the standard model (SM) branching ratios prediction for the leptonic $D_s \to \ell ν_\ell$ decays and the semileptonic SM branching ratios of the $D^0$ and $D^+$ meson decays are in good agreement with the world average experimental measurements. It is possible to disprove New Physics hypothesis or find bounds over several models beyond the SM. Using the observed leptonic and semileptonic branching ratios for the D meson decays, we performed a combined analysis to constrain non standard interactions which med…
In this work, we propose two possibilities of CPT-odd and Lorentz-violating (LV) nonminimal couplings in the Electroweak sector. These terms are gauge-invariant and couple a fixed 4-vector to the physical fields of the theory. After determining the LV contributions to the electroweak currents, we reassess the evaluation of the decay rate for the vector mediators $W$ and $Z$. Using the experimental uncertainty in these decay rates, upper bounds of $1$ part in $10^{-15}$ (eV )$^{-1}$ and $10^{-14}$ (eV )$^{-1}$ are imposed on the magnitude of the proposed nonmimal interactions.
We explore gravitational wave signals arising from first-order phase transitions occurring in a secluded hidden sector, allowing for the possibility that the hidden sector may have a different temperature than the Standard Model sector. We present the sensitivity to such scenarios for both current and future gravitational wave detectors in a model-independent fashion. Since secluded hidden sectors are of particular interest for dark matter models at the MeV scale or below, we pay special attention to the reach of pulsar timing arrays. Cosmological constraints on light degrees of freedom restri…
We introduce the CP violating scalar leptoquark $S_3$ to explain the measured values of the lepton universality ratios $R_{K^{(*)}}$. We derive constraints on the CP-even and CP-odd components of the leptoquark Yukawa couplings stemming from effects in $b \to s μμ$ and $B_s$ mixing. For the $b \to s μμ$ processes we impose $R_{K^{(*)}}$, $\mathcal{B}(B_s \to μ^+ μ^-)$, as well as CP-sensitive angular asymmetries $A_{7,8,9}$, whereas in the $B_s$ mixing sector $ΔM_s$ and $S_{ψϕ}$ are considered. Combining the constraints within the $S_3$ model reveals that a large CP phase with a definite sign …
