In this paper, we study the global geometry of complete, constant mean curvature hypersurfaces embedded in n-manifolds. More precisely, we give conditions that imply properness of such surfaces and prove the existence of fixed size one-sided regular neighborhoods for certain constant mean curvature hypersurfaces in certain n-manifolds.

We define regular points of an extremal subset in an Alexandrov space and study their basic properties. We show that a neighborhood of a regular point in an extremal subset is almost isometric to an open subset in Euclidean space and that the set of regular points in an extremal subset has full measure and is dense in it. This paper presents a proof of the existence of standard symplectic coordinates near a set of smooth, orthogonally intersecting symplectic submanifolds. It is a generalization of the standard symplectic neighborhood theorem. Moreover, in the presence of a compact Lie group $G$ acting symplectically, the coordinates can be chosen to be $G$-equivariant.

We show that a small neighborhood of a closed symplectic submanifold in a geometrically bounded aspherical symplectic manifold has non-vanishing symplectic homology. As a consequence, we establish the existence of contractible closed characteristics on any thickening of the boundary of the neighborhood. Namely, if the flow has a spherical or cylindrical singularity at a space-time point $X=(x,t)$, then there exists a positive $\varepsilon=\varepsilon(X)>0$ such that the flow is mean convex in a space-time neighborhood of size $\varepsilon$ around $X$. We prove that $m$-dimensional Lipschitz graphs with anisotropic mean curvature bounded in $L^p$, $p>m$, are regular almost everywhere in every dimension and codimension. This provides partial or full answers to multiple open questions arising in the literature.
