We study the properties of a star made of self-gravitating bosons gas in a mean-field approximation. A generalized set of Tolman-Oppenheimer-Volkov(TOV) equations is derived to incorporate the effect of chemical-potential in the general relativistic frame work. The metric-dependence of the chemical-potential gives a new class of solutions for the boson stars. It is demonstrated that the maximum mass and radius of the star change in a significant way when the effect of finite chemical-potential is considered. We also discuss the case of a boson star made of quark-condensates. It is found that when the self-interaction between the condensates is small as compared to their mass, the typical density is too high to form a diquark-boson star. Our results indicate that the star of quark-condensate may be formed in a low-density and high-pressure regime.
By employing QCD inequalities, we discuss appearance of the pion condensate for both real and imaginary isospin chemical potentials, taking also into account imaginary quark chemical potential. We show that the charged pion can condense for real isospin chemical potential, but not for imaginary one. Furthermore, we evaluate the expectation value of the neutral-pion field for imaginary isospin chemical potential by using framework of the twisted mass. As a result, it is found that the expectation value becomes zero for the finite current-quark mass, whereas the Banks-Casher relation is obtained…
We calculate for the first time the shear viscosity of ultrarelativistic Boson systems in the presence of a Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC). Two different methods are used. One is the Grad's method of moments and another is the Green-Kubo relation within a kinetic transport approach. In this work we consider a Boson system with isotropic elastic collisions and a gluon system with elastic scatterings described by perturbation QCD (pQCD). The results show that the presence of a BEC lowers the shear viscosity. This effect becomes stronger for the increasing proportion of the BEC in the Boson syste…
The $U(1)_A$ boson mass is calculated through the phenomenological characteristics of the vacuum related to spontaneous breaking of chiral symmetry in QCD. The mass is determined by the mixed quark-gluon condensate $\langle \bar q G q \rangle$ that emerges in an appropriate correlation function due to triangle anomaly. For three flavor QCD in chiral limit we find the numerical value for the $U(1)_A$ boson mass to be $M_0=310\pm 50~{\rm MeV}$.
Analysis based on the energy spectrum of noninteracting bosons shows that, under the circumstance of parallel rotation and magnetic field, charged bosons form a Bose-Einstein condensate because of the lift of the Landau level degeneracy by rotation [\textcolor{blue}{Y. Liu and I. Zahed, Phys. Rev. Lett. {\bf120}, 032001 (2018)}]. In this work, we study the interaction effect on the ground state of this Bose-Einstein condensate of charged bosons from the viewpoint of spontaneous symmetry breaking. We employ a minimal model for charged bosons with repulsive self-interaction. We find that the gro…
We investigate the ferromagnetic (spin polarization) condensation in (2+1) flavor Nambu Jona-Lasinio(NJL) model with non-zero current quark masses at finite temperature and density which may be relevant in the context of neutron stars. The spin polarization condensation arises due to a tensor type interaction which may be generated due to non-perturbative effects in Quantum Chromodynamics(QCD). In this investigation we have shown the interplay between chiral condensate and spin polarization condensation for different values of tensor coupling. Spin polarization in the case of 2+1 flavor is dif…
We model the Higgs condensate of the Standard Model as a relativistic quantum fluid analogous to superfluid helium. We find that the low-lying excitations of the Higgs condensate behave like two relativistic Higgs fields. The lighter Higgs boson has a mass of order $10^2$ GeV. We identify this light Higgs particle with the new LHC resonance at 125 GeV. The heavy Higgs boson has a mass around 750 GeV consistent with our recent phenomenological analysis of the preliminary LHC Run 2 data in the golden channel. We critical compare our theoretical scenario with two Higgs bosons to the available LHC…
We present a realization of the idea that the Higgs boson is mainly a bound state of neutrinos induced by strong four-fermion interactions. The conflicts of this idea with the measured values of the top quark and Higgs boson masses are overcome by introducing, in addition to the right-handed neutrino, a new fermion singlet, which, at low energies, implements the inverse see-saw mechanism. The singlet fermions also develop a scalar bound state which mixes with the Higgs boson. This allows us to obtain a small Higgs boson mass even if the couplings are large, as required in composite scalar scen…
Recently, we proposed to picture the Higgs condensate of the Standard Model as a quantum liquid analogous to the superfluid Helium II. In this scenario the Higgs condensate excitations resemble closely two Standard Model Higgs bosons. The lightest Higgs boson was already identified with the LHC narrow resonance at 125 GeV. Concerning the heavy Higgs boson, we found preliminary evidence in our previous phenomenological analysis in the so-called golden channel. In the present note we compared our proposal to the full Run 2 data set released recently by the ATLAS Collaboration. Even though we do …
We study the resonant decay of the primordial Standard Model Higgs condensate after inflation into $SU(2)$ gauge bosons on the lattice. We find that the non-Abelian interactions between the gauge bosons quickly extend the momentum distribution towards high values, efficiently destroying the condensate after the onset of backreaction. For the inflationary scale $H = 10^8$ GeV, we find that 90% of the Higgs condensate has decayed after $n \sim 10$ oscillation cycles. This differs significantly from the Abelian case where, given the same coupling strengths, most of the condensate would persist af…
We propose a scale invariant model of dynamical electroweak symmetry breaking via top condensation within the minimal top condensate see-saw model. The classical scale invariance is realized nonlinearly by introducing conformal compensator scalar field, the dilaton, which plays crucial role in successful predictions for the Higgs boson. The dilaton mass and its mixing with the composite Higgs boson appears only at 2-loop level, both being proportional to the hierarchy between the electroweak and compositeness scales, $\propto v/Λ$. The mass scales in our model are generated via the mechanism o…
