Quiver Grassmannians and quiver flags are natural generalisations of usual Grassmannians and flags. They arise in the study of quiver representations and Hall algebras. In general, they are projective varieties which are neither smooth nor irreducible.
We use a scheme theoretic approach to calculate their tangent space and to obtain a dimension estimate similar to one of Reineke. Using this we can show that if there is a generic representation, then these varieties are smooth and irreducible. If we additionally have a counting polynomial we deduce that their Euler characteristic is positive and that the counting polynomial evaluated at zero yields one.
After having done so, we introduce a geometric version of BGP reflection functors which allows us to deduce an even stronger result about the constant coefficient of the counting polynomial. We use this to obtain an isomorphism between the Hall algebra at q=0 and Reineke's generic extension monoid in the Dynkin case.
Inspired by work of Ladkani, we explain how to construct generalisations of the classical reflection functors of Bernšte\uın, Gel'fand and Ponomarev by means of the Grothendieck construction.
Let $\mathbf{U}$ be the quantized enveloping algebra and $\dot{\mathbf{U}}$ its modified form. Lusztig gives some symmetries on $\mathbf{U}$ and $\dot{\mathbf{U}}$. Since the realization of $\mathbf{U}$ by the reduced Drinfeld double of the Ringel-Hall algebra, one can apply the BGP-reflection functors to the double Ringel-Hall algebra to obtain Lusztig's symmetries on $\mathbf{U}$ and their important properties, for instance, the braid relations. In this paper, we define a modified form $\dot{\mathcal{H}}$ of the Ringel-Hall algebra and realize the Lusztig's symmetries on $\dot{\mathbf{U}}$ b…
We define Bernstein-Gelfand-Ponomarev reflection functors in the cluster categories of hereditary algebras. They are triangle equivalences which provide a natural quiver realization of the "truncated simple reflections" on the set of almost positive roots $Φ_{\ge -1}$ associated to a finite dimensional semisimple Lie algebra. Combining with the tilting theory in cluster categories developed in [4], we give a unified interpretation via quiver representations for the generalized associahedra associated to the root systems of all Dynkin types (a simply-laced or non-simply-laced). This confirms th…
Given a symmetrizable generalized Cartan matrix $A$, for any index $k$, one can define an automorphism associated with $A,$ of the field $\mathbf{Q}(u_1, >..., u_n)$ of rational functions of $n$ independent indeterminates $u_1,..., u_n.$ It is an isomorphism between two cluster algebras associated to the matrix $A$ (see section 4 for precise meaning). When $A$ is of finite type, these isomorphisms behave nicely, they are compatible with the BGP-reflection functors of cluster categories defined in [Z1, Z2] if we identify the indecomposable objects in the categories with cluster variables of the…
As generalizations of quivers of type A, Igusa-Rock-Todorov in [6] introduced continuous quivers of type A. In this paper, we shall generalize BGP reflection functors to continuous quivers of type A.
Recently the authors initiated an $\imath$Hall algebra approach to (universal) $\imath$quantum groups arising from quantum symmetric pairs. In this paper we construct and study BGP type reflection functors which lead to isomorphisms of the $\imath$Hall algebras associated to acyclic $\imath$quivers. For Dynkin quivers, these symmetries on $\imath$Hall algebras induce automorphisms of universal $\imath$quantum groups, which are shown to satisfy the braid group relations associated to the restricted Weyl group of a symmetric pair; conjecturally these continue to hold for acyclic quivers/Kac-Mood…
Kato has constructed reflection functors for KLR algebras which categorify the braid group action on a quantum group by algebra automorphisms. We prove that these reflection functors are monoidal.
We construct reflection functors on categories of modules over deformed wreath products of the preprojective algebra of a quiver. These functors give equivalences of categories associated to generic parameters which are in the same orbit under the Weyl group action. We give applications to the representation theory of symplectic reflection algebras of wreath product groups.
We introduce "continuous deformed preprojective algebras" attached to infinite affine Dynkin quivers of type A_{\infty}, A_{+\infty}, D_{\infty}. We define a one-parameter family of deformations of the wreath product of a symmetric group with these algebras and, using the generalized McKay correspondence for infinite reductive subgroups of SL(2,C), we establish a Morita equivalence to a corresponding continuous symplectic reflection algebra of wreath product type. We give applications of this Morita equivalence to the representation theory of continuous wreath product symplectic reflection alg…
We extend the definition of the Saito reflection functor of the Khovanov- Lauda-Rouquier algebras to symmetric Kac-Moody algebra case and prove that it defines a monoidal functor.
This paper concerns preprojective representations of a finite connected valued quiver without oriented cycles. For each such representation, an explicit formula in terms of the geometry of the quiver gives a unique, up to a certain equivalence, shortest (+)-admissible sequence such that the corresponding composition of reflection functors annihilates the representation. The set of equivalence classes of the above sequences is a partially ordered set that contains a great deal of information about the preprojective component of the Auslander-Reiten quiver. The results apply to the study of redu…
These are the notes for a course on representations of quivers for second year students in Paderborn in summer 2007. My aim was to provide a basic introduction without using any advanced methods. It turns out that a good knowledge of linear algebra is sufficient for proving Gabriel's theorem. Thus we classify the quivers of finite representation type and study their representations using reflection functors. Further material has been added after giving this course in Bielefeld in summer 2010. This includes a discussion of regular representations and wild phenomena. In particular, two classical…
Following the work of Kashiwara-Rouquier and Gan-Ginzburg, we define a family of exact functors from category $\mathcal O$ for the rational Cherednik algebra in type $A$ to representations of certain "coloured braid groups" and calculate the dimensions of the representations thus obtained from standard modules. To show that our constructions also make sense in a more general context, we also briefly study the case of the rational Cherednik algebra corresponding to complex reflection group $\mathbb Z/l\mathbb Z$.
Ginzburg, Guay, Opdam and Rouquier established an equivalence of categories between a quotient category of the category $\mathcal{O}$ for the rational Cherednik algebra and the category of finite dimension modules of the Hecke algebra of a complex reflection group $W$. We establish two generalizations of this result. On the one hand to the extension of the Hecke algebra associated to the normaliser of a reflection subgroup and on the other hand to the extension of the Hecke algebra by a lattice.
The main result of the paper is a natural construction of the spherical subalgebra in a symplectic reflection algebra associated with a wreath-product in terms of quantum hamiltonian reduction of an algebra of differential operators on a representation space of an extended Dynkin quiver. The existence of such a construction has been conjectured in [EG]. We also present a new approach to reflection functors and shift functors for generalized preprojective algebras and symplectic reflection algebras associated with wreath-products.
We construct (q,t)-Catalan polynomials and q-Fuss-Catalan polynomials for any irreducible complex reflection group W. The two main ingredients in this construction are Rouquier's formulation of shift functors for the rational Cherednik algebras of W, and Opdam's analysis of permutations of the irreducible representations of W arising from the Knizhnik-Zamolodchikov connection.
For $Λ$ a selfinjective algebra, and $Q$ a finite quiver without oriented cycles, the algebra $ΛQ$ is a Gorenstein algebra and the category ${\rm Gproj}ΛQ$ of Gorenstein-projective $ΛQ$-modules is a Frobenius category. For a sink $v$ of $Q$, we define a functor $F(v) : \underline{\rm Gproj}ΛQ\to \underline{\rm Gproj}ΛQ(v)$ between the stable categories modulo projectives, where $Q(v)$ is obtained from $Q$ by changing the direction of each arrow ending in $v$. The functor is given by an explicit construction on the level of objects and homomorphisms. Our main result states that $F(v)$ is an equ…
We begin the study of unitary representations of Hecke algebras of complex reflections groups. We obtain a complete classification for the Hecke algebra of the symmetric group $\mathfrak{S}_n$ over the complex numbers. Interestingly, the unitary representations in the category $\OO$ for the rational Cherednik algebra of type A studied in \cite{ESG} correspond to the unitary representations of the corresponding Hecke algebra via the KZ functor defined in \cite{GGOR}.
Let Q be a quiver. M. Reineke and A. Hubery investigated the connection between the composition monoid, as introduced by M. Reineke, and the generic composition algebra, as introduced by C. M. Ringel, specialised at q=0. In this thesis we continue their work. We show that if Q is a Dynkin quiver or an oriented cycle, then the composition algebra at q=0 is isomorphic to the monoid algebra of the composition monoid. Moreover, if Q is an acyclic, extended Dynkin quiver, we show that there exists an epimorphism from the composition algebra at q=0 to the monoid algebra of the composition monoid, an…
To a finite quiver equipped with a positive integer on each of its vertices, we associate a holomorphic symplectic manifold having some parameters. This coincides with Nakajima's quiver variety with no stability parameter/framing if the integers attached on the vertices are all equal to one. The construction of reflection functors for quiver varieties are generalized to our case, in which these relate to simple reflections in the Weyl group of some symmetrizable, possibly non-symmetric Kac-Moody algebra. The moduli spaces of meromorphic connections on the rank 2 trivial bundle over the Riemann…
Given a quiver, a fixed dimension vector, and a positive integer n, we construct a functor from the category of D-modules on the space of representations of the quiver to the category of modules over a corresponding Gan-Ginzburg algebra of rank n. When the quiver is affine Dynkin we obtain an explicit construction of representations of the corresponding wreath-product symplectic reflection algebra of rank n. When the quiver is star-shaped, but not finite Dynkin, we use this functor to obtain a Lie theoretic construction of representations of a "spherical" subalgebra of the Gan-Ginzburg algebra…
We study the question of when geometric extension algebras are polynomial quasihereditary. Our main theorem is that under certain assumptions, a geometric extension algebra is polynomial quasihereditary if and only if it arises from an even resolution. We give an application to the construction of reflection functors for quiver Hecke algebras.
We show that variants of the classical reflection functors from quiver representation theory exist in any abstract stable homotopy theory, making them available for example over arbitrary ground rings, for quasi-coherent modules on schemes, in the differential-graded context, in stable homotopy theory as well as in the equivariant, motivic, and parametrized variant thereof. As an application of these equivalences we obtain abstract tilting results for trees valid in all these situations, hence generalizing a result of Happel. The main tools introduced for the construction of these reflection f…
We study the representation theory of Dynkin quivers of type A in abstract stable homotopy theories, including those associated to fields, rings, schemes, differential-graded algebras, and ring spectra. Reflection functors, (partial) Coxeter functors, and Serre functors are defined in this generality and these equivalences are shown to be induced by universal tilting modules, certain explicitly constructed spectral bimodules. In fact, these universal tilting modules are spectral refinements of classical tilting complexes. As a consequence we obtain split epimorphisms from the spectral Picard g…
We generalize the construction of reflection functors from classical representation theory of quivers to arbitrary small categories with freely attached sinks or sources. These reflection morphisms are shown to induce equivalences between the corresponding representation theories with values in arbitrary stable homotopy theories, including representations over fields, rings or schemes as well as differential-graded and spectral representations. Specializing to representations over a field and to specific shapes, this recovers derived equivalences of Happel for finite, acyclic quivers. However,…
We study quivers with relations given by non-commutative analogs of Jacobian ideals in the complete path algebra. This framework allows us to give a representation-theoretic interpretation of quiver mutations at arbitrary vertices. This gives a far-reaching generalization of Bernstein-Gelfand-Ponomarev reflection functors. The motivations for this work come from several sources: superpotentials in physics, Calabi-Yau algebras, cluster algebras.
In this expository note, I showcase the relevance of Coxeter groups to quiver representations. I discuss (1) real and imaginary roots, (2) reflection functors, and (3) torsion free classes and c-sortable elements. The first two topics are classical, while the third is a more recent development. I show that torsion free classes in rep Q containing finitely many indecomposables correspond bijectively to c-sortable elements in the corresponding Weyl group. This was first established in Dynkin type by Ingalls and Thomas; it was shown in general by Amiot, Iyama, Reiten, and Todorov. The proof in th…
It is well-known that a quiver Q of type A_n is representation-finite, and that its indecomposable representations are thin (all Jordan-Hoelder multiplicities are 0 or 1). By now, various methods of proof are known. The aim of this note is to provide a straight-forward arrangement of possible arguments in order to avoid indices and clumsy inductive considerations, but also avoiding somewhat fancy tools such as the Bernstein-Gelfand-Ponomarev reflection functors or bilinear forms and root systems. The proof we present deals with representations in general, not only finite-dimensional ones. We o…
Gabriel's Theorem, and the work of Bernstein, Gelfand and Ponomarev established a connection between the theory of quiver representations and the theory of simple Lie algebras. Lie superalgebras have been studied from many perspectives, and many results about Lie algebras have analogues for Lie superalgebras. In this paper, the notion of a super-representation of a quiver is introduced, as well as the notion of reflection functors for odd roots. These ideas are then used to give a categorical construction of the root system A(n,m) by establishing a version of Gabriel's Theorem and modifying th…
