We show that 2+1 dimensional Dirac oscillators in an external magnetic field is mapped onto the same with reduced angular frequency in absence of magnetic field. This can be used to study the atomic transitions in a radiation field. Relativistic Landau levels are constructed explicitly. Several interesting features of this system are discussed.
We analyze the one-dimensional Dirac oscillator in a thermal bath. We found that the heat capacity is two times greater than the heat capacity of the one-dimensional harmonic oscillator for higher temperatures.
The generalized Dirac oscillator as one of the exact solvable model in quantum mechanics was introduced in 2+1-dimensional world in this paper. What is more, the general expressions of the exact solutions for these models with the inverse cubic, quartic, quintic and sixtic power potentials in radial Dirac equation were further given by means of the Bethe ansatz method. And finally, the corresponding exact solutions in this paper were further discussed.
In this work, we study the Aharonov-Casher effect in the $(2+1)$-dimensional Dirac oscillator coupled to an external electromagnetic field. We set up our system in two different scenarios: in the Minkowski spacetime and the cosmic string spacetime. In both cases, we solve exactly the Dirac oscillator and we determine the energy spectrum and the eigenfunctions for the bound states. We verify that in the Minkowski spacetime, the Dirac oscillator spectrum depends linearly on the strength of the magnetic field $B$, and on the Aharonov-Casher phase. In addition, we explicitly obtain the corrections…
We investigate the feasibility of performing quantum non-demolition (QND) measurements in relativistic quantum systems, using the one-dimensional Dirac oscillator as a specific example. We derive general expressions for its QND observables and find that they are intricate combinations of the position, momentum, and spin operators, which makes them challenging to realize experimentally in general. However, the situation is considerably simplified in both the weakly and strongly relativistic limits, where their experimental realization will be possible.
The importance of the energy spectrum of bound states and their restrictions in quantum mechanics due to the different methods have been used for calculating and determining the limit of them. Comparison of Schrodinger-like equation obtained by Dirac equation with the non-relativistic solvable models is the most efficient methods. By this technique, the exact relativistic solutions of Dirac equation for Hartmann and Ring-Shaped oscillator potentials are accessible, when the scalar potential equals to the vector potential. Using solvable non-relativistic quantum mechanics systems as a basic mod…
The effect of the minimal length on the thermal properties of a Dirac oscillator is considered. The canonical partition function is well determined by using the method based on Zeta Epstein function. Through this function, all thermodynamics properties, such as the free energy, the total energy, the entropy, and the specific heat, have been determined. Moreover, this study allows us to calculate the values of minimal length \triangle x=\hbar\sqrtβ for some fermionic particles.
The Dirac oscillator coupled to an external two-component field can retain its solvability, if couplings are appropriately chosen. This provides a new class of integrable systems. A simplified way of solution is given, by recasting the known solution of the Dirac oscillator into matrix form; there one notices, that a block-diagonal form arises in a Hamiltonian formulation. The blocks are two-dimensional. Choosing couplings that do not affect the block structure, these just blow up the $2 \times 2$ matrices to $4 \times 4 $ matrices, thus conserving solvability. The result can be cast again in …
We show that (2+1) dimensional noncommutative Dirac oscillator in an external magnetic field is mapped onto the same but with reduced angular frequency in absence of magnetic field. We construct the relativistic Landau levels by solving corresponding Dirac equation in (2+1) dimensional noncommutative phase space. We observe that lowest Landau levels are exactly same as in commutative space and independent of non-commutative parameter. All the Landau levels become independent of noncommutative parameter for a critical value of the magnetic field. Several other interesting features along with th…
In the present article we have found the complete energy spectrum and the corresponding eigenfunctions of the Dirac oscillator in two spatial dimensions. We show that the energy spectrum depends on the spin of the Dirac particle.
This Letter is based on the $κ$-Dirac equation, derived from the $κ$-Poincaré-Hopf algebra. It is shown that the $κ$-Dirac equation preserves parity while breaks charge conjugation and time reversal symmetries. Introducing the Dirac oscillator prescription, $\mathbf{p}\to\mathbf{p}-imωβ\mathbf{r}$, in the $κ$-Dirac equation, one obtains the $κ$-Dirac oscillator. Using a decomposition in terms of spin angular functions, one achieves the deformed radial equations, with the associated deformed energy eigenvalues and eigenfunctions. The deformation parameter breaks the infinite degeneracy of the D…
The oscillator-like interaction is introduced in the equation for the particle of arbitrary spin, given by Dirac and re-written to a matrix form by Dowker.
Three dimensional Dirac oscillator was considered in deformed space obeyed to deformed commutation relations known as Snyder-de Sitter algebra. Snyder-de Sitter commutation relations gives rise to appearance minimal uncertainty in position as well as in momentum. To derive energy spectrum and wavefunctions of the Dirac oscillator supersymmetric quantum mechanics and shape invariance technique was applied.
The main goal of this work is to study the Dirac oscillator as a quantum field using the canonical formalism of quantum field theory and to develop the canonical quantization procedure for this system in $(1+1)$ and $(3+1)$ dimensions. This is possible because the Dirac oscillator is characterized by the absence of the Klein paradox and by the completeness of its eigenfunctions. We show that the Dirac oscillator field can be seen as constituted by infinite degrees of freedom which are identified as decoupled quantum linear harmonic oscillators. We observe that while for the free Dirac field th…
It is shown that a spin-1/2 fermion coupled to the axially symmetric electromagnetic vector potential has the same matrix structure as that one for the planar Dirac oscillator. In particular, the planar Dirac oscillator can be interpreted as a charged particle minimally coupled to a transverse homogeneous magnetic field.
We study generalized Dirac oscillators with complex interactions in $(1+1)$ dimensions. It is shown that for the choice of interactions considered here, the Dirac Hamiltonians are $η$ pseudo Hermitian with respect to certain metric operators $η$. Exact solutions of the generalized Dirac Oscillator for some choices of the interactions have also been obtained. It is also shown that generalized Dirac oscillators can be identified with Anti Jaynes Cummings type model and by spin flip it can also be identified with Jaynes Cummings type model.
In this Letter, 2D Dirac oscillator in the quantum deformed framework generated by the $κ$-Poincaré-Hopf algebra is considered. The problem is formulated using the $κ$-deformed Dirac equation. The resulting theory reveals that the energies and wave functions of the oscillator are modified by the deformation parameter.
We demonstrate that neutral Dirac particles in external electric fields, which are equivalent to generalized Dirac oscillators, are physical examples of quasi-exactly solvable systems. Electric field configurations permitting quasi-exact solvability of the system based on the $sl(2)$ symmetry are discussed separately in spherical, cylindrical, and Cartesian coordinates. Some exactly solvable field configurations are also exhibited.
We examine the effects of gravitational fields produced by topological defects on a Dirac field and a Dirac oscillator in a spinning cosmic string spacetime. We obtain the eigenfunctions and the energy levels of the relativistic field in that background and consider the effect of various parameters, such as the frequency of the rotating frame, the oscillator's frequency, the string density and other quantum numbers.
We have studied (2+1) dimensional Dirac oscillator (DO) in an external magnetic field in the framework of generalized uncertainty principle (GUP). We have calculated the perturbative corrections for first few energy levels. We show that the infinite degeneracy of lowest Landau level is partially lifted due to GUP correction and obtained a critical value of the magnetic field for which there is no GUP correction and the DO stops oscillating.
In the present work we obtain a new representation for the Dirac oscillator based on the Clifford algebra $C\ell_7.$ The symmetry breaking and the energy eigenvalues for our model of the Dirac oscillator are studied in the non-relativistic limit.
We study the Dirac and the klein-Gordon oscillators in a noncommutative space. It is shown that the Klein-Gordon oscillator in a noncommutative space has a similar behaviour to the dynamics of a particle in a commutative space and in a constant magnetic field. The Dirac oscillator in a noncommutative space has a similar equation to the equation of motion for a relativistic fermion in a commutative space and in a magnetic field, however a new exotic term appears, which implies that a charged fermion in a noncommutative space has an electric dipole moment.
From a study of an oscillator in a $4D$ NC spacetime, we establish the Hamilton equations of motion. The formers are solved to give the oscillator position and momentum coordinates. These coordinates are used to build a metric similar to that describing a cosmic string. On this basis, Dirac and Klein-Gordon oscillators are investigated. Their spectrum and dynamics are analysed giving rise to novel interesting properties.
In this paper we study the (2 + 1)-dimensional Dirac oscillator in the noncommutative phase space and the energy eigenvalues and the corresponding wave functions of the system are obtained through the sl(2) algebraization. It is shown that the results are in good agreement with those obtained previously via a different method.
Dirac's oscillator (DO) is one of the most studied systems in the Relativistic Quantum Mechanics and in the physical-mathematics. In particular, we show that this system has an unique property which it has not ever seen in other known systems: According to its spatial dimensionality, DO represent physical systems with very different electromagnetic nature. So far in the literature, it has been proved using the covariant method the gauge invariance of the Dirac's oscillator potential. It has also shown that in (3+1)dimensions the DO represents a relativistic and electrically neutral fermion wit…
We study the Dirac equation in 3+1 dimensions with non-minimal coupling to isotropic radial three-vector potential and in the presence of static electromagnetic potential. The space component of the electromagnetic potential has angular (non-central) dependence such that the Dirac equation is completely separable in spherical coordinates. We obtain exact solutions for the case where the three-vector potential is linear in the radial coordinate (Dirac-Oscillator) and the time component of the electromagnetic potential vanishes. The relativistic energy spectrum and spinor eigenfunctions are obta…
We obtain the two-point Green's function for the relativistic Dirac-Oscillator problem. This is accomplished by setting up the relativistic problem in such a way that makes comparison with the nonrelativistic problem highly transparent and results in a map of the latter into the former. The relativistic bound states energy spectrum is obtained by locating the energy poles of this Green's function in a simple and straightforward manner.
Some years ago, one of the authors~(MM) revived a concept to which he gave the name of single-particle Dirac oscillator, while another~(CQ) showed that it corresponds to a realization of supersymmetric quantum mechanics. The Dirac oscillator in its one- and many-body versions has had a great number of applications. Recently, it included the analytic expression for the eigenstates and eigenvalues of a two-particle system with a new type of Dirac oscillator interaction of frequency~$ω$. By considering the latter together with its partner corresponding to the replacement of~$ω$ by~$-ω$, we are ab…
We study the non-relativistic limit of a paradigmatic model in Relativistic Quantum Mechanics, the two-dimensional Dirac oscillator. Remarkably, we find a novel kind of Zitterbewegung which persists in this non-relativistic regime, and leads to an observable deformation of the particle orbit. This effect can be interpreted in terms of a Ramsey Interferometric phenomenon, allowing an insightful connection between Relativistic Quantum Mechanics and Quantum Optics. Furthermore, subsequent corrections to the non-relativistic limit, which account for the usual spin-orbit Zitterbewegung, can be neat…
We consider a spin half particle in the external magnetic field which couples to a harmonic oscillator through some pseudo-hermitian interaction. We find that the energy eigenvalues for this system are real even though the interaction is not PT invariant.
We consider the influence of a noncommutative space on the Klein-Gordon and the Dirac oscillators. The nonrelativistic limit is taken and the $θ$-modified Hamiltonians are determined. The corrections of these Hamiltonians on the energy levels are evaluated in first-order perturbation theory. It is observed a total lifting of the degeneracy to the considered levels. Such effects are similar to the Zeeman splitting in a commutative space.
In this paper we consider the Dirac oscillator in the context of Doubly General Relativity or Gravity's Rainbow. In order to obtain the energy levels of the Dirac oscillator, we solve the Dirac equation in the cosmic string spacetime modified by gravity's rainbow scenarios described by two rainbow functions. We then obtain that, as a consequence of the modification of the cosmic string line element by the two rainbow functions, the energy levels of the Dirac oscillator are appreciable altered. The results are plotted and compared with the standard case, without gravity's rainbow effects.
In this work the Dirac oscillator in $(2+1)$ dimensions is considered. We solve the problem in polar coordinates and discuss the dependence of the energy spectrum on the spin parameter $s$ and angular momentum quantum number $m$. Contrary to earlier attempts, we show that the degeneracy of the energy spectrum can occur for all possible values of $sm$. In an additional analysis, we also show that an isolated bound state solution, excluded from Sturm-Liouville problem, exists.
The thermal properties of the three-dimensional Dirac oscillator are considered. The canonical partition function is determined, and the high-temperature limit is assessed. The degeneracy of energy levels and their physical implications on the main thermodynamic functions are analyzed, revealing that these functions assume values greater than the one-dimensional case. So that at high temperatures, the limit value of the specific heat is three times bigger.
We study the solutions of the (2+1)-dimensional kappa-deformed Dirac oscillator in the presence of a constant transverse magnetic field. We demonstrate how the deformation parameter affects the energy eigenvalues of the system and the corresponding eigenfunctions. Our findings suggest that this system could be used to detect experimentally the effect of the deformation. We also show that the hidden supersymmetry of the non-deformed system reduces to a hidden pseudo-supersymmetry having the same algebraic structure as a result of the k-deformation.
We study a relativistic spin-1/2 fermion subjected to a Dirac oscillator coupling and a constant magnetic field. An interplay between opposed chirality interactions culminates in the appearance of a relativistic quantum phase transition, which can be fully characterized. We obtain analytical expressions for the energy gap, order parameter, and canonical quantum fluctuations across the critical point. Moreover, we also discuss the effect of this phase transition on the statistics of the chiral bosonic ensemble, where its super- or sub-Poissonian nature can be controled by means of external para…
We obtain exact solutions of the (2+1) dimensional Dirac oscillator in a homogeneous magnetic field within the Anti-Snyder modified uncertainty relation characterized by a momentum cut-off ($p\leq p_{\text{max}}=1/ \sqrtβ$). In ordinary quantum mechanics ($β\to 0$) this system is known to have a single left-right chiral quantum phase transition (QPT). We show that a finite momentum cut-off modifies the spectrum introducing additional quantum phase transitions. It is also shown that the presence of momentum cut-off modifies the degeneracy of the states.
Other than scattering problems where perturbation theory is applicable, there are basically two ways to solve problems in physics. One is to reduce the problem to harmonic oscillators, and the other is to formulate the problem in terms of two-by-two matrices. If two oscillators are coupled, the problem combines both two-by-two matrices and harmonic oscillators. This method then becomes a powerful research tool to cover many different branches of physics. Indeed, the concept and methodology in one branch of physics can be translated into another through the common mathematical formalism. Couple…
In this article, we study topological and noninertial effects on the motion of the two-dimensional Dirac oscillator in the presence of a uniform magnetic field and the Aharonov-Bohm potential. We obtain the Dirac equation that describes the model. Expressions for the wave functions and energy spectrum are derived. The energy spectrum of the oscillator as a function of the various physical parameters involved in the problem is rigorously studied. Finally, we present some analogies between our results and others of the condensed matter physics.
We obtain the solution of the Dirac equation in (2+1) dimensions in the presence of a constant magnetic field normal to the plane together with a two-dimensional Dirac-oscillator potential coupling. We study the energy spectrum of graphene quantum dot (QD) defined by electrostatic gates. We give discussions of our results based on different physical settings, whether the cyclotron frequency is similar or larger/smaller compared to the oscillator frequency. This defines an effective magnetic field that produces the effective quantized Landau levels. We study analytically such field in gate-tuna…
In this work the dynamics of a 2D Dirac oscillator in the spacetime of a magnetic cosmic string is considered. It is shown that earlier approaches to this problem have neglected a $δ$ function contribution to the full Hamiltonian, which comes from the Zeeman interaction. The inclusion of spin effects leads to results which confirm a modified dynamics. Based on the self-adjoint extension method, we determined the most relevant physical quantities, such as energy spectrum, wave functions and the self-adjoint extension parameter by applying boundary conditions allowed by the system.
We study the (2+1)-dimensional Dirac oscillator in the presence of an external uniform magnetic field ($B$). We show how the change of the strength of $B$ leads to the existence of a quantum phase transition in the chirality of the system. A critical value of the strength of the external magnetic field ($B_c$) can be naturally defined in terms of physical parameters of the system. While for $B=B_c$ the fermion can be considered as a free particle without defined chirality, for $B<B_c$ ($B>B_c$) the chirality is left (right) and there exist a net potential acting on the fermion. For the three r…
In the context of some deformed canonical commutation relations leading to isotropic nonzero minimal uncertainties in the position coordinates, a Dirac equation is exactly solved for the first time, namely that corresponding to the Dirac oscillator. Supersymmetric quantum mechanical and shape-invariance methods are used to derive both the energy spectrum and wavefunctions in the momentum representation. As for the conventional Dirac oscillator, there are neither negative-energy states for $E=-1$, nor symmetry between the $l = j - {1/2}$ and $l = j + {1/2}$ cases, both features being connected …
We obtain exact solutions of the (2+1) dimensional Dirac oscillator in a homogeneous magnetic field within a minimal length ($Δx_0=\hbar \sqrtβ$), or generalised uncertainty principle (GUP) scenario. This system in ordinary quantum mechanics has a single left-right chiral quantum phase transition (QPT). We show that a non zero minimal length turns on a infinite number of quantum phase transitions which accumulate towards the known QPT when $β\to 0$. It is also shown that the presence of the minimal length modifies the degeneracy of the states and that in this case there exist a new class of st…
We apply the Dirac factorization method to the nonrelativistic harmonic oscillator and, more in general, to Hamiltonians with a generic potential. It is shown that this procedure naturally leads to a supersymmetric formulation of the problems under study. It is also speculated on the physical meaning underlying this method and it is suggested that the vacuum field fluctuations can be viewed as the spontaneous emission of the associated two-level system, whose quantization is due to the noncommuting nature of the harmonic oscillator canonical variables.
The Dirac equation with both scalar and vector couplings describing the dynamics of a two-dimensional Dirac oscillator in the cosmic string spacetime is considered. We derive the Dirac-Pauli equation and solve it in the limit of the spin and the pseudo-spin symmetries. We analyze the presence of cylindrical symmetric scalar potentials which allows us to provide analytic solutions for the resultant field equation. By using an appropriate ansatz, we find that the radial equation is a biconfluent Heun-like differential equation. The solution of this equation provides us with more than one express…
The representation of the superalgebra SO(2,1) which is given by Eq. (3.1) and which resulted in the relativistic wave equation (4.1) is fully reducible. In fact, its even part is the direct sum of two spin 1/2 representations of the Lorentz group and does not represent spin 3/2 particle as we claimed. Consequently, we retract our claim and withdraw the manuscript.
We show that the $(2+1)$-dimensional Dirac-Moshinsky oscillator coupled to an external magnetic field can be treated algebraically with the $SU(1,1)$ group theory and its group basis. We use the $su(1,1)$ irreducible representation theory to find the energy spectrum and the eigenfunctions. Also, with the $su(1,1)$ group basis we construct the relativistic coherent states in a closed form for this problem.

We study the (2+1) dimensional Dirac oscillator in a homogeneous magnetic field in the non-commutative plane. It is shown that the effect of non-commutativity is twofold: $i$) momentum non commuting coordinates simply shift the critical value ($B_{\text{cr}}$) of the magnetic field at which the well known left-right chiral quantum phase transition takes place (in the commuting phase); $ii$) non-commutativity in the space coordinates induces a new critical value of the magnetic field, $B_{\text{cr}}^*$, where there is a second quantum phase transition (right-left), --this critical point disappe…
In this work, the generalized Dirac oscillator in cosmic string space-time is studied by replacing the momentum pu with its alternative p_u+mwbf_u(x_u)). In particular, the quantum dynamics is considered for the function f_u(x_u) to be taken as cornell potential, exponential-type potentialand singular potential. For cornell potential and exponential-type potential, the corresponding radial equations can be mapped into the confluent hypergeometric equation and hypergeometric equation separately. The corresponding eigenfunctions can be represented as confluent hypergeometric function and hyperge…
In this paper, we investigate the twisted algebra of the fermionic oscillators associated with Dirac field defined in $κ$-Minkowski space-time. Starting from $κ$-deformed Dirac theory, which is invariant under the undeformed $κ$-Poincare algebra, using the twisted flip operator, we derive the deformed algebra of the creation and annihilation operators corresponding to the Dirac field quanta in $κ$-Minkowski space-time. In the limit $a\rightarrow 0$, the deformed algebra reduces to the commutative result.
The Dirac oscillator in a homogenous magnetic field exhibits a chirality phase transition at a particular (critical) value of the magnetic field. Recently, this system has also been shown to be exactly solvable in the context of noncommutative quantum mechanics featuring the interesting phenomenon of re-entrant phase transitions. In this work we provide a detailed study of the thermodynamics of such quantum phase transitions (both in the standard and in the noncommutative case) within the Maxwell-Boltzmann statistics pointing out that the magnetization has discontinuities at critical values of…
The $D$-dimensional $(β, β')$-two-parameter deformed algebra introduced by Kempf is generalized to a Lorentz-covariant algebra describing a ($D+1$)-dimensional quantized space-time. In the D=3 and $β=0$ case, the latter reproduces Snyder algebra. The deformed Poincaré transformations leaving the algebra invariant are identified. It is shown that there exists a nonzero minimal uncertainty in position (minimal length). The Dirac oscillator in a 1+1-dimensional space-time described by such an algebra is studied in the case where $β'=0$. Extending supersymmetric quantum mechanical and shape-invari…
