Structural, electrical and magnetic measurements of 115 single crystals of PrIn$_5$ are reported. It has a tetragonal structure and has slightly lower cell volume than its isomorphic counter part CeCoIn_5. The resistivity saturates for T\geq 10K. Analysis of the resistivity for 10K<T< 60K indicates a regular fermi liquid behavior. It does not exhibit superconductivity down to T\sim 1K. The magnetic susceptibility analysis yielded the moment to be 4.00μ_B indicating that the magnetism of PrCoIn_5 is dominated by Pr^{3+} free ions with some admixture of the magnetic moment of the Co sublattice. The paramagnetic Curie temperature θ\sim-40K. At low temperatures the susceptibility follows a broad maximum around T_N \sim 14.5K, and increases as the temperature is lowered. The disappearance of superconductivity for T>1K is attributed to chemical pressure effects and magnetic pair breaking.
In this work we present frequency-dependent magnetic susceptibility and dc electric transport properties of three different compositions of hexaferrite Ba$_{1-x}$Pb$_{x}$Fe$_{12-y}$Al$_{y}$O$_{19}$. We find a correlation between activation energies of dc electric transport and ac magnetic susceptibility which persists in the whole researched range of aluminium substitution $x=0$ to $3.3$. This result is discussed in the context of charged magnetic domain walls, the pinning of which is determined by charge carriers activated over the transport gap. Our work points toward a general relaxational …
We propose a new mechanism of nonlinear nonreciprocal transport in magnetic systems. By considering a noncoplanar magnetic ordering on a bilayer triangular lattice, we clarify that a local scalar chirality degree of freedom is a source of nonreciprocal transport, which does not require any relativistic spin-orbit coupling, net scalar chirality, and net magnetization. We show a close relationship between the asymmetric band modulation and the nonreciprocal transport under the noncoplanar magnetic ordering based on the model-parameter dependences in the real-space picture.
To clarify the transport property mediated by bound magnons in a spin nematic state, we investigate the spin Drude weight of a spin-1/2 $J_{1}$-$J_{2}$ Heisenberg chain with ferromagnetic $J_{1}$ and antiferromagnetic $J_{2}$ in a magnetic field by numerical diagonalization. At zero magnetic field, numerical results with up to 24 sites suggest that the spin Drude weight would be zero in the thermodynamic limit, indicating diffusive spin transport. With increasing the magnetic field, the spin Drude weight is enhanced at low temperatures, indicating that bound magnons would contribute to the spi…
We report on low-temperature heat-transport properties of the spin-1/2 triangular-lattice antiferromagnet Cs$_2$CuCl$_4$. Broad maxima in the thermal conductivity along the three principal axes, observed at about 5 K, are interpreted in terms of the Debye model, including the phonon Umklapp scattering. For thermal transport along the $b$ axis, we observed a pronounced field-dependent anomaly, close to the transition into the three-dimensional long-range-ordered state. No such anomalies were found for the transport along the $a$ and $c$ directions. We argue that this anisotropic behavior is rel…
The mineral linarite (PbCuSO$_4$(OH)$_2$) forms a monoclinic structure where a sequence of Cu(OH)$_2$ units forms a spin-$\frac{1}{2}$ chain. Competing ferromagnetic nearest-neighbor ($J_1$) and antiferromagnetic next-nearest-neighbor interactions ($J_2$) in this quasi-one-dimensional spin structure imply magnetic frustration and lead to magnetic ordering below $T_N =$2.8 K in a mutliferroic elliptical spin-spiral ground state. Upon the application of a magnetic field along the spin-chain direction, distinct magnetically ordered phases can be induced. We studied the thermal conductivity $κ$ in…
Anisotropy in the magnetic and electrical transport properties of Fe1-xCrxSb2
本文研究了Fe_(1-x)Cr_xSb_2(0<= x <=1)单晶的磁输运和电输运性质的各向异性。
One-dimensional (1D) quantum wires, which are functionalized by magnetic ad-atoms, can host ballistic helical transport. Helicity protects transport from an undesirable influence of material imperfections, and it makes the magnetically doped wire a very promising element for nanoelectronics and spintronics. However, fabricating purely 1D conductors is experimentally very challenging and not always feasible. In this paper, we show that the protected helical transport can exist even in quasi-1D wires. We model the quasi-1D magnetically doped wire as two coupled dense 1D Kondo chains. Each chain …
We consider the magneto-transports of quantum matters doped with magnetic impurities near the quantum critical points(QCP). For this, we first find new black hole solution with hyper-scaling violation which is dual to such system. By considering the fluctuation near this exact solution, we calculated all transport coefficients using the holographic method. We applied our result to the surface state of the topological insulator with magnetic doping and found two QCP's, one bosonic and the other fermionic. It turns out that doped Bi$_2$Se$_3$ and Bi$_2$Te$_3$ correspond to different QCP's. We al…
Effects of Fe substitution on the electronic, transport, and magnetic properties of ZnGa$_2$O$_4$: A systematic ab-initio study
