We study a massive cosmic strings with BII symmetries cosmological models in two contexts. The first of them is the standard one with a barotropic equation of state. In the second one we explore the possibility of taking into account variable \textquotedblleft constants\textquotedblright ($G$ and $Λ).$Both models are studied under the self-similar hypothesis. We put special emphasis in calculating the numerical values for the equations of state. We find that for $ω\in(0,1]$, $G$, is a growing time function while $Λ$, behaves as positive decreasing time function. If $ω=0,$ both \textquotedblleft constants\textquotedblright, $G$ and $Λ,$ behave as true constants.
The quantum cosmology of the string effective action is considered within the context of the Bianchi class A minisuperspace. An exact unified solution is found for all Bianchi types and interpreted physically as a quantum wormhole. The solution is generalized for types ${\rm VI_0}$ and ${\rm VII_0}$. The Bianchi type IX wavefunction becomes increasingly localized around the isotropic Universe at large three-geometries.
Some cosmological solutions of massive strings are obtained in Bianchi I space-time following the techniques used by Letelier and Stachel. A class of solutions corresponds to string cosmology associated with/without a magnetic field and the other class consists of pure massive strings, obeying the Takabayashi equation of state.
We apply the scale factor duality transformations introduced in the context of the effective string theory to the anisotropic Bianchi-type models. We find dual models for all the Bianchi-types [except for types $VIII$ and $IX$] and construct for each of them its explicit form starting from the exact original solution of the field equations. It is emphasized that the dual Bianchi class $B$ models require the loss of the initial homogeneity symmetry of the dilatonic scalar field.
The loop quantum cosmology of the Bianchi type II string cosmological model in the presence of a homogeneous magnetic field is studied. We present the effective equations which provide modifications to the classical equations of motion due to quantum effects. The numerical simulations confirm that the big bang singularity is resolved by quantum gravity effects.
A Bianchi type-VI cosmological model in the presence of a magnetic flux together with a cloud of cosmic strings is considered. In general, the presence of a magnetic field imposes severe restrictions regarding the consistency of the field equations. These difficulties could be overtaken working either in a Bianchi type-VI$_0$ spacetime or assuming a particular coordinate-dependence of the magnetic field. Using a few plausible assumptions regarding the parametrization of the cosmic strings, some exact analytical solutions are presented. Their asymptotic behavior for large time is exhibited.
In this paper, the cosmic no hair theorem for anisotropic Bianchi models which admit inflation with a scalar field is studied in the framework of Brane world. It is found that all Bianchi models except Bianchi type IX, transit to an inflationary regime with vanishing anisotropy. In the Brane world, anisotropic universe approaches the inflationary era much faster than that in the general theory of relativity. The form of the potential does not affect the evolution in the inflationary epoch. However, the late time behaviour is controlled by a constant additive factor in the potential for the inf…
The present study deals with LRS Bianchi type I cosmological model representing massive string. The energy-momentum tensor for such string as formulated by Letelier (1983) is used to construct massive string cosmological models for which we assume that the shear scalar ($σ$) is proportional to the expansion scalar ($θ$). The study reveals that massive strings dominate the early Universe. The strings eventually disappear from the Universe for sufficiently large time, which is in agreement with the current astronomical observations. Some physical and geometrical behaviour of models are also disc…
We investigate the integrability of cosmic strings in Bianchi III space-time in presence of a bulk viscous fluid by applying a new technique. The behaviour of the model is reduced to the solution of a single second order nonlinear differential equation. We show that this equation admits an infinite family of solutions. Some physical consequences from these results are also discussed.
Bianchi type V string cosmological models in general relativity are investigated. To get the exact solution of Einstein's field equations, we have taken some scale transformations followed by Camci $\it et ~ al$ (2001). It is shown that Einstein's field equations are solvable for any arbitrary cosmic scale function. Solution for particular form of cosmic scale functions are also obtained. Some physical and geometrical aspects of the models are discussed.
A Bianchi type-I cosmological model in the presence of a magnetic flux along a cosmological string is considered. The first objective of this study is to investigate Einstein equations using a tractable assumption usually accepted in the literature. Quantum effects of the present cosmological model are examined in the framework of loop quantum cosmology. Finally we draw a parallel between the classical and quantum approaches.
A Bianchi type-I cosmological model in the presence of a magnetic flux along a cosmological string is investigated. The objective of this study is to generate solutions to the Einstein equations using a few tractable assumptions usually accepted in the literature. The analytical solutions are supplemented with numerical and qualitative analysis. In the frame of the present model the evolution of the Universe and other physical aspects are discussed.
Bianchi type III string cosmological models with bulk viscous fluid for massive string are investigated. To get the determinate model of the universe, we have assumed that the coefficient of bulk viscosity ($ξ$) is inversely proportional to the expansion ($θ$) in the model and expansion ($θ$) in the model is proportional to the shear ($σ$). This leads to $B = \ell C^{n}$, $\ell$ and $n$ are constants. The behaviour of the model in presence and absence of bulk viscosity, is discussed. The physical implications of the models are also discussed in detail.
Here, we have investigated the interaction of Bianchi type I anisotropic cloud string cosmological model universe with electromagnetic field in the context of general relativity. In this paper, the energy momentum tensor is assumed to be the sum of the rest energy density and string tension density with an electromagnetic field. To obtain exact solutions of Einstein field equations, we take average scale factor as an integrating function of time. Also, the dynamics and significance of various physical parameters of model are discussed.
A Bianchi type-I cosmological model in the presence of a magnetic flux along a cosmic string is investigated. A nonlinear spinor field is used to simulate the cosmological cloud of strings. It is shown that the spinor field simulation offer the possibility to solve the system of Einstein's equation without any additional assumptions. It is shown that the present model is nonsingular at the end of the evolution and does not allow the anisotropic Universe to turn into an isotropic one.
The present study deals with a spatially homogeneous and anisotropic Bianchi-II cosmological model representing massive strings. The energy-momentum tensor, as formulated by Letelier (1983), has been used to construct a massive string cosmological model for which the expansion scalar is proportional to one of the components of shear tensor. The Einstein's field equations have been solved by applying a variation law for generalized Hubble's parameter that yields a constant value of deceleration parameter in Bianchi-II space-time. A comparative study of accelerating and decelerating modes of the…
Bianchi type $VI_{0}$ massive string cosmological models using the technique given by Letelier (1983) with magnetic field are investigated. To get the deterministic models, we assume that the expansion ($θ$) in the model is proportional to the shear ($σ$) and also the fluid obeys the barotropic equation of state. It was found that vacuum energy density $Λ\propto \frac{1}{t^{2}}$ which matches with natural units. The behaviour of the models from physical and geometrical aspects in presence and absence of magnetic field is also discussed.
Bianchi type V string cosmological models with bulk viscosity for massive string are investigated. The bulk viscosity is assumed to vary with time in such a manner that it is related to simple power function of the energy density. Using generation technique (Camci~et~al., 2001), it is shown that Einstein's field equations are solvable for any arbitrary cosmic scale function. Solution for particular form of cosmic scale functions are also obtained. It is found that solutions based on generation technique are relevant to the observational results. Some physical and geometrical aspect of the mode…
Bianchi type I massive string cosmological model with magnetic field of barotropic perfect fluid distribution through the techniques used by Latelier and Stachel, is investigated. To get the deterministic model of the universe, it is assumed that the universe is filled with barotropic perfect fluid distribution. The magnetic field is due to electric current produced along x-axis with infinite electrical conductivity. The behaviour of the model in presence and absence of magnetic field together with other physical aspects is further discussed.
In order to investigate if the anisotropy of the spacetime may induce future singularities at a finite value of the cosmic time on the evolution of cosmological models, we study vacuum and non-vacuum Bianchi type I spacetimes exhibiting such future singularities. We show that in the case of Kasner vacuum cosmologies the spacetime may rip itself apart in a finite time, and only in the direction corresponding to the unique scale factor which diverges at this finite value of the cosmic time. The other two directional scale factors and the average scale factor do not diverge and tend to zero at th…
Bianchi type V bulk viscous fluid cosmological models are investigated. Using a generation technique (Camci {\it et al.}, 2001), it is shown that the Einstein's field equations are solvable for any arbitrary cosmic scale function. The viscosity coefficient of bulk viscous fluid is assumed to be a power function of mass density. Solutions for particular forms of cosmic scale functions are also obtained. Some physical and geometric aspects of the models are also discussed.
Bianchi type V perfect fluid cosmological models are investigated with cosmological term $Λ$ varying with time. Using a generation technique (Camci {\it et al.}, 2001), it is shown that the Einstein's field equations are solvable for any arbitrary cosmic scale function. Solutions for particular forms of cosmic scale functions are also obtained. The cosmological constant is found to be decreasing function of time, which is supported by results from recent type Ia supernovae observations. Some physical aspects of the models are also discussed.
Bianchi type V bulk viscous fluid cosmological models are investigated with dynamic cosmological term $Λ(t)$. Some physical and geometrical aspects of the models are also discussed.
We consider the horizon problem in a homogeneous but anisotropic universe (Bianchi type I). We show that the problem cannot be solved if (1) the matter obeys the strong energy condition with the positive energy density and (2) the Einstein equations hold. The strong energy condition is violated during cosmological inflation.
A Palatini-type action for Einstein and Gauss-Bonnet gravity with non-trivial torsion is proposed. Three-form flux is incorporated via a deformation of the Riemann tensor, and consistency of the Palatini variational principle requires the flux to be covariantly constant and to satisfy a Jacobi identity. Studying gravity actions of third order in the curvature leads to a conjecture about general Palatini-Lovelock-Cartan gravity. We point out potential relations to string-theoretic Bianchi identities and, using the Schouten-Nijenhuis bracket, derive a set of Bianchi identities for the non-geomet…
A model of a cloud formed by massive strings is used as a source of LRS Bianchi type II with time decaying vacuum energy density $Λ$. To construct string cosmological models we have used the energy-momentum tensor for such string as formulated by Letelier (1983). The high nonlinear field equations have been solved for two types of strings, (i) Massive string and (ii) Nambu string. The expansion $θ$ in the model is assumed to be proportional to the shear $σ$. This condition leads to $A=βB^{m}$, where $A$ and $B$ are the metric coefficients, $m$ is a constant and $β$ is an integrating constant. …
The global properties of spatially homogeneous cosmological models with collisionless matter are studied. It is shown that as long as the mean curvature of the hypersurfaces of homogeneity remains finite no singularity can occur in finite proper time as measured by observers whose worldlines are orthogonal to these hypersurfaces. Strong cosmic censorship is then proved for the Bianchi I, Bianchi IX and Kantowski-Sachs symmetry classes.
We present non-critical Bianchi type $I$ string cosmology solutions in the presence of central charge deficit term $Λ$. The leading order string frame curvature appears to be in the high curvature limit $Rα'\gtrsim1$, which underlines the necessity of including higher order $α'$-corrections. We give new solutions of two-loop (order $α'$) $β$-function equations of $σ$-model with non-zero $Λ$ and dilaton field in both cases of absence and presence of spatially homogeneous $H$-field ($H=dB$). Also, the evolution of solutions is studied in the Einstein frame, where the string effective action can …
We study several cosmological models with Bianchi VI_0&III symmetries under the self-similar approach. We find new solutions for the "classical" perfect fluid model as well as for the vacuum model although they are really restrictive for the equation of state. We also study a perfect fluid model with time-varying constants, $G$ and $Λ.$ As in other models studied we find that the behaviour of $G$ and $Λ$ are related. If $G$ behaves as a growing time function then $Λ$ is a positive decreasing time function but if $G$ is decreasing then $Λ_{0}$ is negative. We end by studying a massive cosmic st…
The present study deals with locally rotationally symmetric (LRS) Bianchi type II cosmological models representing massive string. The energy-momentum tensor for such string as formulated by Letelier (1983) is used to construct massive string cosmological models for which we assume that the expansion ($θ$) in the models is proportional to the shear ($σ$). This condition leads to $A = B^{m}$, where A and B are the metric coefficients and m is constant. We have derived two types of models depending on different values of m i.e. for $m\neq \sqrt{2}$ and $m = \sqrt{2}$ respectively. For suitable c…
We investigate Bianchi I cosmological model in the theory of a dilatonM field coupled to gravity through a Gauss-Bonnet term. Two type ofM cosmological singularity are distinguished. The former is analogous toM the Einstein gravity singularity, the latter (which does not appear inM classical General Relativity) occurs when the main determinant of theM system of field equations vanishes. An analogy between the latterM cosmological singularity and the singularity inside a black hole withM a dilatonic hair is discussed. Initial conditions, leading to theseM two types of cosmological singularity a…
Cosmic Microwave Background anomalies suggest that the Universe is slightly anisotropic, so a Cosmological Model that does not satisfy the Cosmological Principle is necessary. Anisotropic Bianchi models have been studied given that they would be necessary to understand the early stages of the Universe. In this paper, we analyze qualitatively the behavior of the cosmological redshift in a Bianchi type I model after a coordinate transformation in three cases: vacuum with no vanishing cosmological constant $Λ\not= 0$, universe dominated by dust and universe dominated by radiation.
The dynamics of the hyperextended scalar-tensor theory in the empty Bianchi type I model is investigated. We describe a method giving the sign of the first and second derivatives of the metric functions whatever the coupling function. Hence, we can predict if a theory gives birth to expanding, contracting, bouncing or inflationary cosmology. The dynamics of a string inspired theory without antisymetric field strength is analysed. Some exact solutions are found.

We study the evolution of Bianchi-I space-times filled with a global unidirectional electromagnetic field $F_{mn}$ interacting with a massless scalar dilatonic field according to the law Ψ(ϕ) F^{mn} F_{mn} where Ψ(ϕ) > 0 is an arbitrary function. A qualitative study, among other results, shows that (i) the volume factor always evolves monotonically, (ii) there exist models becoming isotropic at late times and (iii) the expansion generically starts from a singularity but there can be special models starting from a Killing horizon preceded by a static stage. All these features are confirmed for …
We use a conformal transformation to find solutions to the generalised scalar-tensor theory, with a coupling constant dependent on a scalar field, in an empty Bianchi type I model. We describe the dynamical behaviour of the metric functions for three different couplings: two exact solutions to the field equations and a qualitative one are found. They exhibit non-singular behaviours and kinetic inflation. Two of them admit both General Relativity and string theory in the low-energy limit as asymptotic cases.
To understand the observational properties of cosmological models, in particular, the temperature of the cosmic microwave background radiation, it is necessary to study their null geodesics. Dynamical systems theory, in conjunction with the orthonormal frame approach, has proved to be an invaluable tool for analyzing spatially homogeneous cosmologies. It is thus natural to use such techniques to study the geodesics of these models. We therefore augment the Einstein field equations with the geodesic equations, all written in dimensionless form, obtaining an extended system of first-order ordina…
In this paper, we consider spatially homogenous and anisotropic Bianchi type I universe in the context of F(T) gravity. We construct some corresponding models using conservation equation and equation of state parameter representing different phases of the universe. In particular, we take matter dominated era, radiation dominated era, present dark energy phase and their combinations. It is found that one of the models has a constant solution which may correspond to the cosmological constant. We also derive equation of state parameter by using two well-known F(T) models and discuss cosmic accele…
A spatially homogeneous and anisotropic Bianchi Type I universe has been studied with ω <-1 without Big Smash. It is demonstrated that if cosmic dark energy behaves like a fluid with equation of state p = ωρ (p and ρ being pressure and energy density respectively) as well as generalized chaplygin gas simultaneously, Big Rip or Big Smash problem does not arise even for equation of state parameter ω <-1 unlike other phantom models, here, the scale factor for Bianchi Type I universe is found regular for all time. The present model is derived by using law of variation of Hubble's parameter from Bi…
We consider the question of strong cosmic censorship in spatially compact, spatially locally homogeneous vacuum models. We show in particular that strong cosmic censorship holds in Bianchi IX vacuum space--times with spherical spatial topology.
In previous works, we studied the isotropisation of Bianchi class A models with a minimally coupled scalar field. In this paper, we extend these results to the case of a non minimally coupled one. We first make the calculations in the Einstein frame where the scalar field is minimally coupled to the curvature but non minimally coupled to the perfect fluid. Then, we use a conformal transformation to generalise our results to a scalar field non minimally coupled to the curvature. Universe isotropisation for the Brans-Dicke and low energy string theories are studied.
A Bianchi type I string cosmological model in the presence of a magnetic flux is investigated. A few plausible assumptions regarding the parametrization of the cosmic string and magneto-fluid are introduced and some exact analytical solutions are presented.
We study the low energy string effective action with an exponential type dilaton potential and vanishing torsion in a Bianchi type I space-time geometry. In the Einstein and string frames the general solution of the gravitational field equations can be expressed in an exact parametric form. Depending on the values of some parameters the obtained cosmological models can be generically divided into three classes, leading to both singular and nonsingular behaviors. The effect of the potential on the time evolution of the mean anisotropy parameter is also considered in detail, and it is shown that…
We prove the cosmic no-hair conjecture for all orthogonal Bianchi cosmologies with matter in the $R+βR^2$ theory using the conformally equivalent Einstein field equations, with the scalar field having the full self-interacting potential, in the presence of the conformally related matter fields. We show, in particular, that the Bianchi IX universe asymptotically approaches de Sitter space provided that initially the scalar three-curvature does not exceed the potential of the scalar field associated with the conformal transformation. Our proof relies on rigorous estimates of the possible bounds …
The dynamics of cosmological anisotropies is investigated for Bianchi type I universe filled by a relativistic matter represented by the reduced relativistic gas model (RRG), with equation of state interpolating between radiation and matter. Previously it was shown that the interpolation is observed in the background cosmological solutions for homogeneous and isotropic universe and also for the linear cosmological perturbations. We extend the application of RRG to the Bianchi type I anisotropic model and find that the solutions evolve to the isotropic universe with the pressureless matter cont…
We study the dynamical effects in the scale factors due to the scalar $ϕ$-field at the early stages of a supposedly anisotropic Universe expansion in connection with the problem of the initial singularity in the scalar-tensor cosmology of Jordan-Brans-Dicke. This is done by considering the behaviour of the general analytical solutions for the homogeneous model of Bianchi type VII in the vacuum case. We conclude that the Bianchi-VII$_0$ model shows an isotropic expansion and that its only physical solution is equivalent to a Friedman-Robertson-Walker spacetime whose evolution begins in a singul…
The Strong Cosmic Censorship conjecture states that for generic initial data to Einstein's field equations, the maximal globally hyperbolic development is inextendible. We prove this conjecture in the class of orthogonal Bianchi class B perfect fluids and vacuum spacetimes, by showing that unboundedness of certain curvature invariants such as the Kretschmann scalar is a generic property. The only spacetimes where this scalar remains bounded exhibit local rotational symmetry or are of plane wave equilibrium type. We further investigate the qualitative behaviour of solutions towards the initial …
The cosmic, general analitic solutions of the Brans--Dicke Theory for the flat space of homogeneous and isotropic models containing perfect, barotropic, fluids are seen to belong to a wider class of solutions --which includes cosmological models with the open and the closed spaces of the Friedmann--Robertson--Walker metric, as well as solutions for models with homogeneous but anisotropic spaces corresponding to the Bianchi--Type metric clasification-- when all these solutions are expressed in terms of reduced variables. The existence of such a class lies in the fact that the scalar field, $ϕ$,…
It is shown that all contracting, spatially homogeneous, orthogonal Bianchi cosmologies that are sourced by an ultra-stiff fluid with an arbitrary and, in general, varying equation of state asymptote to the spatially flat and isotropic universe in the neighbourhood of the big crunch singularity. This result is employed to investigate the asymptotic dynamics of a collapsing Bianchi type IX universe sourced by a scalar field rolling down a steep, negative exponential potential. A toroidally compactified version of M*-theory that leads to such a potential is discussed and it is shown that the iso…
We investigate the effect of dark energy on the limits on the shear anisotropy in spatially homogeneous Bianchi cosmological models obtained from measurements of the temperature anisotropies in the cosmic microwave background. We shall primarily assume that the dark energy is modelled by a cosmological constant. In general, we find that there are tighter bounds on the shear than in models with no cosmological constant, although the limits are (Bianchi) model dependent. In addition, there are special spatially homogeneous cosmological models whose rate of expansion is highly anisotropic, but wh…
Global symmetries of the string effective action are employed to generate tilted, homogeneous Bianchi type VI_h string cosmologies from a previously known stiff perfect fluid solution to Einstein gravity. The dilaton field is not constant on the surfaces of homogeneity. The future asymptotic state of the models is interpreted as a plane wave and is itself an exact solution to the string equations of motion to all orders in the inverse string tension. An inhomogeneous generalization of the Bianchi type III model is also found.
In this paper, we investigate Bianchi type-$VI$ cosmological model for the universe filled with dark energy and viscous fluid in the presence of cosmological constant. Also, we show accelerating expansion of the universe by drawing volume scale, pressure and energy density versus cosmic time. In order to solve the Einstein field equations, we assume the expansion scalar is proportional to a component of the shear tensor. Therefore, we obtain the directional scale factors and show the EOS parameter crosses over phantom divided-line.
The dynamics of the tilted axisymmetric Bianchi IX cosmological models are explored allowing energy flux in the source fluid. The Einstein equations and the continuity equation are presented treating the equation of state $w$ and the tilt angle of the fluid $λ$ as time dependent functions, but when analysing the phase space $w$ and $λ$ are considered free parameters and the shear, the vorticity and the curvature of the spacetime span a three-dimensional phase space that contains seven fixed points. One of them is an attractor that inflates the universe anisotropically, thus providing a counter…
Distributional sources of cosmic walls crossed by cosmic strings from Riemann-Cartan (RC) Geometry. The matter density of the planar wall is maximum at the point where the cosmic string crosses the cosmic wall. Cartan torsion is has a support on the cosmic string given by the Dirac $ δ$-function. Off the sources are left with a torsionless vacuum.
We consider a local cosmic string described by the Abelian-Higgs model in the framework of scalar-tensor gravities. We find the metric of the cosmic string in the weak-field approximation. The propagation of particles and light is analysed in this background. This analysis shows that the (unperturbed) cosmic string in scalar-tensor theories presents some analogous features to the wiggly cosmic string in General Relativity.
The exact metric around a wiggly cosmic string is found by modifying the energy momentum-tensor of a straight infinitely thin cosmic string to include an electric current along the symmetry axis.
We address an issue: would the cosmological scale factor be a locally oscillating quantity? This problem is examined in the framework of two classical 1+1-dimensional models: the first one is a string against a curved background, and the second one is an inhomogeneous Bianchi I model. For the string model, it is shown that there exist the gauge and the initial condition providing an oscillation of scale factor against a slowly evolving background, which is not affected by such an oscillation "at the mean". For the inhomogeneous Bianchi I model with the conformal time gauge, an initially homoge…
