Dynamical changes in the solar corona have proven to be very important in inducing seismic waves into the photosphere. Different mechanisms for their generation have been proposed. In this work, we explore the magnetic field forces as plausible mechanisms to generate sunquakes as proposed by Hudson, Fisher and Welsch. We present a spatial and temporal analysis of the line-of-sight magnetic field variations induced by the seismically active 2003 October 29 and 2005 January 15 solar flares and compare these results with other supporting observations.
We present results of our preliminary analysis of acoustically active X-class flare of September 7, 2011. We report two acoustic sources detected via acoustic holography and verified by finding a ridge in time-distance diagrams. We compare the directional information extracted from time-distance and acoustic holography, showing a good agreement in this case. A major flare (of class X3.4) occurred on 13 December 2006 in the active region NOAA 10930. The energy released during flares is also known to induce acoustic oscillations in the Sun. Here, we analyze the line-of-sight velocity patterns in this active region during the X3.4 flare using the Dopplergrams obtained by GONG instrument. We use observations of line-of-sight magnetograms from Helioseismic and Magnetic Imager (HMI) on board of Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) to investigate polarity separation, magnetic flux, flux emergence rate, twist and tilt of solar emerging active regions. Functional dependence of polarity separation and maximum magnetic flux of an active region is in agreement with a simple model of flux emergence as the result of buoyancy forces. Our investigation did not reveal any strong dependence of emergence rate on twist properties of active regions.

In this work, we analysed the physical parameters of the spotless actives regions observed during solar minimum 23 - 24 (2007 - 2010). The study was based on radio maps at 17~GHz obtained by the Nobeyama Radioheliograph (NoRH) and magnetograms provided by the Michelson Doppler Imager (MDI) on board the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO). The results shows that the spotless active regions presents the same radio characteristics of a ordinary one, they can live in the solar surface for long periods (>10 days), and also can present small flares.
The study of solar active longitudes has generated a great interest in the recent years. In this work we have used an unique continuous sunspot data series obtained from Kodaikanal observatory and revisited the problem. Analysis of the data shows a persistent presence of the active longitude during the whole 90 years of data duration. The purpose of this letter is to address a blind-spot in our knowledge of solar active region statistics. To the best of our knowledge there are no published results showing the variation of the Mount Wilson magnetic classifications as a function of solar cycle based on modern observations. We show statistics for all active regions reported in the daily Solar Region Summary from 1992 January 1 to 2015 December 31. Using a recently proposed nonlinear force-free method designed for single vector magnetograms of solar active regions we calculate the instantaneous free magnetic energy and relative magnetic helicity budgets in 162 vector magnetograms corresponding to 42 different active regions. We find a statistically robust, monotonic correlation between the free magnetic energy and the relative magnetic helicity in the studied regions. Hinode observations have provided a new view of outflows from the Sun. These have been focussed in particular on flows emanating from the edges of active regions. We investigate mode amplitudes in the active and quiet Sun in both maximum and minimum phases of the solar activity cycle. We confirm previous studies showing that p-mode amplitudes at solar minimum are higher than at solar maximum. Magnetic activity of the Sun and other stars causes their brightness to vary. We investigate how typical the Sun's variability is compared to other solar-like stars, i.e. those with near-solar effective temperatures and rotation periods. By combining four years of photometric observations from the Kepler space telescope with astrometric data from the Gaia spacecraft, we measure photometric variabilities of 369 solar-like stars.
