Two-neutron correlation in the $^1S$ channel in quasi two-dimensional (2D) neutron systems at zero temperature is studied by means of the BCS theory with finite-range effective nuclear forces. The dineutron correlation in low density neutron systems confined in an infinite slab is investigated in a simplified model that neutron motion of one direction is frozen. When the slab is thin enough, two neutrons form a tightly bound dineutron with a small size in the quasi-2D system, and a Bose dineutron gas is found in low density limit. With increase of Fermi momentum, the neutron system changes from the Bose-gas phase to the superfluid Cooper pair phase. The density dependence of the neutron pairing shows the BCS-BEC crossover phenomena at finite low-density region. In the transition region, the size shrinking of neutron pair and enhancement of pairing gap are found. The relation to dineutron correlation at surface of neutron-rich nuclei is also discussed.
To discuss the dineutron correlation in the ground state, the quasi-free neutron knockout reaction on $^6$He is investigated. In the present work, the momentum distribution of the two emitted neutrons is calculated with the $α$~+~$n$~+~$n$ three-body model and a simple reaction model to assess the effects of the knockout process via the $^5$He resonance and the target dependence in the momentum distribution. A clear signature of the dineutron correlation can be obtained by choosing the kinematical condition so the process via the $^5$He resonance is excluded because the $^5$He resonance drastic…
Background. Knockout reactions with proton targets provide an invaluable tool to access the properties of two-neutron halo nuclei. Recently, experimental results for the average opening angle as a function of the intrinsic neutron momentum in 11Li have shown a localization of dineutron correlations on the nucleus surface. Purpose. Study the model dependence and the effect of distortion and absorption on the opening angle distributions to assess the reliability of this observable to extract properties of Borromean two-neutron halo nuclei. Method. A quasifree sudden model is used to describe the…
We discuss a decay of unbound nuclei beyond the neutron drip-line using a three-body model with a core nucleus and two valence neutrons. We particularly discuss the role of dineutron correlation between the valence neutrons in the two-neutron emission from the ground state of $^{26}$O and $^{10}$He nuclei. Our calculations clearly indicate that the emission of the two neutrons in the back-to-back direction is enhanced due to the dineutron correlation.

We study the spatial correlation of a particle-hole pair in the isovector channel in $^{56}$Co and $^{40}$K nuclei. To this end, we employ the Hartree-Fock+Tamm-Dancoff approximation with the Skyrme interaction. We find a large concentration of the two-body density at positions where the neutron particle and the proton hole states locate on the opposite side to each other with respect to the core nucleus. This feature originates from a repulsive nature of the isovector residual interaction, which is in stark contrast to the dineutron correlation with an attractive pairing interaction between t…
Background: Magnetic dipole (M1) excitation is the leading mode of nuclear excitation by the magnetic field, which couples unnatural-parity states. Since the M1 excitation occurs mainly for open-shell nuclei, the nuclear pairing effect is expected to play a role. As expected from the form of operator, this mode may provide the information on the spin-related properties, including the spin component of dineutron and diproton correlations. In general, the sum rule for M1 transition strength has not been derived yet. Purpose: To investigate the M1 excitation of the systems with two valence nucleo…
In this paper, we extend the framework of improved version of simplified method to take into account the tensor contribution ($i$SMT) and propose AQCM-T, tensor version of antisymmetrized quasi cluster model (AQCM). Although AQCM-T is phenomenological, we can treat the $^3S$-$^3D$ coupling in the deuteron-like $T=0$ $NN$-pair induced by the tensor interaction in a very simplified way, which allows us to proceed to heavier nuclei. Also we propose a new effective interaction, V2m, where the triplet-even channel of the Volkov No.2 interaction is weakened to 60% so as to reproduce the binding ener…
The possibility of the $^{14}$C cluster being a basic building block of medium mass nuclei is discussed. Although $α$ cluster structures have been widely discussed in the light $N\approx Z$ mass region, the neutron to proton ratio deviates from unity in the nuclei near $β$-stability line and in neutron-rich nuclei. Thus, more neutron-rich objects with $N>Z$ could become the building blocks of cluster structures in such nuclei. The $^{14}$C nucleus is strongly bound and can be regarded as such a candidate. In addition, the path to the lowest shell-model configuration at short relative distances…
The theoretical formalism of inclusive lepton-nucleus scattering in the two-nucleon emission channel is discussed in the context of a simplified approach, the modified convolution approximation. This allows one to write the 2p2h responses of the relativistic Fermi gas as a folding integral of two 1p1h responses with the energies and momenta transferred to each nucleon. The idea behind this method is to introduce different average momenta for the two initial nucleons in the matrix elements of the two-body current, with the innovation that they depend on the transferred energies and momenta. Thi…
The adopted level densities (LD) for the nuclei produced through different reaction mechanisms significantly impact the calculation of cross sections for the many reaction channels. Common LD models make simplified assumptions regarding the overall behavior of the total LD and the intrinsic spin and parity distributions of the excited states. However, very few experimental constraints are taken into account: LD at neutron separation energy coming from average resonance spacings, whenever they have been previously measured, and the sometimes subjective extrapolation of discrete levels. These, h…
Lying at the lower edge of the `island of inversion', neutron-rich Fluorine isotopes ($^{29-31}$F) provide a curious case to study the configuration mixing in this part of the nuclear landscape. Recent studies have suggested that a prospective two-neutron halo in the dripline nucleus $^{31}$F could be linked to the occupancy of the $pf$ intruder configurations. Focusing on configuration mixing, matter radii and neutron-neutron ($nn$) correlations in the ground-state of $^{31}$F, we explore various scenarios to analyze its possible halo nature as well as the low-lying electric dipole ($E$1) res…
The calculation of dynamic response functions is expected to be an early application benefiting from rapidly developing quantum hardware resources. The ability to calculate real-time quantities of strongly-correlated quantum systems is one of the most exciting applications that can easily reach beyond the capabilities of traditional classical hardware. Response functions of fermionic systems at moderate momenta and energies corresponding roughly to the Fermi energy of the system are a potential early application because the relevant operators are nearly local and the energies can be resolved i…
