Lazarsfeld and Mustata propose general and systematic usage of Okounkov's idea in order to study asymptotic behavior of linear series on an algebraic variety. It is a very simple way, but it yields a lot of consequences, like Fujita's approximation theorem. Yuan generalized this way to the arithmetic situation, and he established the arithmetic Fujita's approximation theorem, which was also proved by Chen independently. In this paper, we introduce arithmetic linear series and give a general way to estimate them based on Yuan's idea. As an application, we consider an arithmetic analogue of the algebraic restricted volumes.
We prove two formulas in the style of the Gross-Zagier theorem, relating derivatives of L-functions to arithmetic intersection pairings on a unitary Shimura variety. We also prove a special case of Colmez's conjecture on the Faltings heights of abelian varieties with complex multiplication. These results are derived from the authors' earlier results on the modularity of generating series of divisors on unitary Shimura varieties.
Let V be a rational quadratic space of signature (m,2). A conjecture of Kudla relates the arithmetic degrees of top degree special cycles on an integral model of a Shimura variety associated with SO(V) to the coefficients of the central derivative of an incoherent Siegel Eisenstein series of genus m+1. We prove this conjecture for the coefficients of non-singular index T when T is not positive definite. We also prove it when T is positive definite and the corresponding special cycle has dimension 0. To obtain these results, we establish new local arithmetic Siegel-Weil formulas at the archimed…
Let $k$ be a perfect field of characteristic $p>0$. Within Berthelot's theory of arithmetic $\mathcal{D}$-modules, we construct a $p$-adic formalism of Grothendieck's six operations for quasi-projective schemes over $\mathrm{Spec} k[[t]]$.

This is an introduction to a probabilistic model for the arithmetic of elliptic curves, a model developed in a series of articles of the author with Bhargava, Kane, Lenstra, Park, Rains, Voight, and Wood. We discuss the theoretical evidence for the model, and we make predictions about elliptic curves based on corresponding theorems proved about the model. In particular, the model suggests that all but finitely many elliptic curves over $\mathbb{Q}$ have rank $\le 21$, which would imply that the rank is uniformly bounded.
We give an estimation for the arithmetic genus of an integral space curve, which are not contained in a surface of degree $k-1$. Our main technique is the Bogomolov-Gieseker type inequality for $\mathbb{P}^3$ proved by Macri.
The problem is to evaluate a polynomial in several variables and its gradient at a power series truncated to some finite degree with multiple double precision arithmetic. To compensate for the cost overhead of multiple double precision and power series arithmetic, data parallel algorithms for general purpose graphics processing units are presented. The reverse mode of algorithmic differentiation is organized into a massively parallel computation of many convolutions and additions of truncated power series. Experimental results demonstrate that teraflop performance is obtained in deca double pr…
