The report describes the status of the calorimeter R&D for ILC detector performed in the CALICE collaboration. This status has been presented to the review panel at the LCWS07 workshop at DESY in June 2007.
The CALICE collaboration is currently developing an engineering prototype of an analog hadron calorimeter for a future linear collider detector. The data acquisition system (DAQ) for a highly granular analogue hadron calorimeter (AHCAL) for the future International Linear Collider is presented. The developed DAQ chain has several stages of aggregation and scales up to 8 million channels foreseen for the AHCAL detector design. The largest aggregation device, Link Data Aggregator, has 96 HDMI connectors, four Kintex7 FPGAs and a central Zynq System-On-Chip. Architecture and performance results are shown in detail. Experience from DESY testbeams with a small detector prototype consisting of 15 detector layers are shown.

The Digital Hadron Calorimeter (DHCAL) 1m3 physics prototype was constructed and has been tested in particle beams. We report the preliminary results from the analysis of both positon and pion events of momenta between 2 and 60 GeV/c. These results are considered as a first validation of the DHCAL concept.
Using the high granular CALICE analog hadron calorimeter (AHCal) a tracking algorithm capable of identifying MIP-like tracks within hadronic showers is presented. Such an algorithm provides excellent tools for detector calibration and for studies of the substructure of hadronic showers. The CALICE collaboration is developing a granular electromagnetic calorimeter using (5-10) mm x 45 mm x 3 mm scintillator strips for a future linear collider experiment. Each scintillator strip is read out by using a Pixelated Photon Detector (PPD). A prototype module has been constructed and tested at Fermilab in 2008 and 2009. Data were collected with electron and hadron beams in the energy range 8 to 80 GeV. The analysis described here focuses on the interactions of pions in the calorimeter. One of the main objectives of the CALICE program is to validate the Monte Carlo tools available for the design of a full-sized detector. The CALICE collaboration is developing highly granular electromagnetic and hadronic calorimeters for detectors at future energy frontier electron-positron colliders. After successful tests of a physics prototype, a technological prototype of the Analog Hadron Calorimeter has been built, based on a design and construction techniques scalable to a collider detector.
