We address a number of conjectures about the ground state O(1) loop model, computing in particular two infinite series of partial sums of its entries and relating them to the enumeration of plane partitions. Our main tool is the use of integral formulae for a polynomial solution of the quantum Knizhnik-Zamolodchikov equation.
We consider the integrable dilute Temperley-Lieb (dTL) O($n=1$) loop model on a semi-infinite strip of finite width $L$. In the analogy with the Temperley-Lieb (TL) O($n=1$) loop model the ground state eigenvector of the transfer matrix is studied by means of a set of $q$-difference equations, sometimes called the $q$KZ equations. We compute some ground state components of the transfer matrix of the dTL model, and show that all ground state components can be recovered for arbitrary $L$ using the $q$KZ equation and certain recurrence relation. The computations are done for generic open boundary…
Integrable loop models associated with higher representations (spin k/2) of U_q(sl(2)) are investigated at the point q=-e^{iπ/(k+2)}. The ground state eigenvalue and eigenvectors are described. Introducing inhomogeneities into the models allows to derive a sum rule for the ground state entries.
We are interested in the enumeration of Fully Packed Loop configurations on a grid with a given noncrossing matching. By the recently proved Razumov--Stroganov conjecture, these quantities also appear as groundstate components in the Completely Packed Loop model. When considering matchings with p nested arches, these numbers are known to be polynomials in p. In this article, we present several conjectures about these polynomials: in particular, we describe all real roots, certain values of these polynomials, and conjecture that the coefficients are positive. The conjectures, which are of a com…
For the deconfining phase of SU(2) Yang-Mills thermodynamics and for high temperatures we point out that a linear dependence on temperature of a one-loop selfconsistently resummed thermal correction to the pressure and the energy density takes place despite a quartic dependence arising from an unsummed two-loop correction. This linearity is hierarchically smaller than the one belonging to the tree-level estimate of the thermal ground-state. We discuss and interprete this result.
The ground states of the spin-$ S $ antiferromagnetic chain $H_\textrm{AF}$ with a projection-based interaction and the spin-$ 1/2$ XXZ-chain $ H_\textrm{XXZ} $ at anisotropy parameter $Δ=\cosh(λ) $ share a common loop representation in terms of a two-dimensional functional integral which is similar to the classical planar $Q$-state Potts model at $ \sqrt Q= 2S+1 =2\cosh(λ)$. The multifaceted relation is used here to directly relate the distinct forms of translation symmetry breaking which are manifested in the ground states of these two models: dimerization for $H_\textrm{AF}$ at all $S> 1/2$…
This is the second part of our study of the ground state eigenvector of the transfer matrix of the dilute Temperley-Lieb loop model with the loop weight $n=1$ on a semi infinite strip of width $L$. We focus here on the computation of the normalization (otherwise called the sum rule) $Z_L$ of the ground state eigenvector, which is also the partition function of the critical site percolation model. The normalization $Z_L$ is a symmetric polynomial in the inhomogeneities of the lattice $z_1,..,z_L$. This polynomial satisfies several recurrence relations which we solve independently in terms of Ja…
We investigate global logarithmic asymptotics of ground states for a family of quantum mean field models. Our approach is based on a stochastic representation and a combination of large deviation and weak KAM techniques. The spin- 1/2 case is worked out in more detail.
The 1D AKLT model is a paradigm of antiferromagnetism, and its ground state exhibits symmetry-protected topological order. On a 2D lattice, the AKLT model has recently gained attention because it too displays symmetry-protected topological order, and its ground state can act as a resource state for measurement-based quantum computation. While the 1D model has been shown to be gapped, it remains an open problem to prove the existence of a spectral gap on the 2D square lattice, which would guarantee the robustness of the resource state. Recently, it has been shown that one can deduce this spectr…
It has been shown in earlier works that for Q=0 and L a multiple of N, the ground state sector eigenspace of the superintegrable tau_2(t_q) model is highly degenerate and is generated by a quantum loop algebra L(sl_2). Furthermore, this loop algebra can be decomposed into r=(N-1)L/N simple sl_2 algebras. For Q not equal 0, we shall show here that the corresponding eigenspace of tau_2(t_q) is still highly degenerate, but splits into two spaces, each containing 2^{r-1} independent eigenvectors. The generators for the sl_2 subalgebras, and also for the quantum loop subalgebra, are given generaliz…
A variational framework is developed to examine the equilibrium states of a semi-flexible polymer that is constrained to lie on a fixed surface. As an application the confinement of a closed polymer loop of fixed length $2πR$ within a spherical cavity of smaller radius, $R_0$, is considered. It is shown that an infinite number of distinct periodic completely attached equilibrium states exist, labeled by two integers: $n=2,3,4,...$ and $p=1,2,3,...$, the number of periods of the polar and azimuthal angles respectively. Small loops oscillate about a geodesic circle: $n=2$, $p=1$ is the stable gr…
