We introduce and obtain multimode paraboson coherent states. In appropriate subspaces these coherent states provide a decomposition of unity where the measure, when expressed using the cat-type states, is positive definite. Bicoherent states where the mutually commuting lowering operators are diagonalized are also obtained. Matrix elements in the coherent state basis are calculated.
The composition factors and their multiplicities are determined for generalised Verma modules over the orthosymplectic Lie superalgebra osp(k|2). The results enable us to obtain explicit formulae for the formal characters and dimensions of the finite-dimensional irreducible modules. Applying these results, we also compute the first and second cohomology groups of the Lie superalgebra with coefficients in finite-dimensional Kac modules and irreducible modules.
The orthosymplectic supergroup OSp(m|2n) is introduced as the supergroup of isometries of flat Riemannian superspace R^{m|2n} which stabilize the origin. It also corresponds to the supergroup of isometries of the supersphere S^{m-1|2n}. The Laplace operator and norm squared on R^{m|2n}, which generate sl(2), are orthosymplectically invariant, therefore we obtain the Howe dual pair (osp(m|2n),sl(2)). This Howe dual pair solves the problems of the dual pair (SO(m)xSp(2n),sl(2)), considered in previous papers. In particular we characterize the invariant functions on flat Riemannian superspace and…
We introduce the spinor representations for osp(m|2n). These generalize the spinors for so(m) and the symplectic spinors for sp(2n) and correspond to representations of the supergroup with supergroup pair (Spin(m) x Mp(2n),osp(m|2n)). We prove that these spinor spaces are uniquely characterized as the completely pointed osp(m|2n)-modules. Then the tensor product of this representation with irreducible finite dimensional osp(m|2n)-modules is studied. Therefore we derive a criterion for complete reducibility of tensor product representations. We calculate the decomposition into irreducible osp(m…
We study Yang-Baxter equations with orthosymplectic supersymmetry. We extend a new approach of the construction of the spinor and metaplectic $\hat{\cal R}$-operators with orthogonal and symplectic symmetries to the supersymmetric case of orthosymplectic symmetry. In this approach the orthosymplectic $\hat{\cal R}$-operator is given by the ratio of two operator valued Euler Gamma-functions. We illustrate this approach by calculating such $\hat{\cal R}$ operators in explicit form for special cases of the $osp(n|2m)$ algebra, in particular for a few low-rank cases. We also propose a novel, simpl…
We utilise characteristic identities to construct eigenvalue formulae for invariants and reduced matrix elements corresponding to irreducible representations of osp(m|n). In presenting these results, we further develop our programme of constructive representation theory via characteristic identities.
Generalized quantum statistics, such as paraboson and parafermion statistics, are characterized by triple relations which are related to Lie (super)algebras of type B. The correspondence of the Fock spaces of parabosons, parafermions as well as the Fock space of a system of parafermions and parabosons to irreducible representations of (super)algebras of type B will be pointed out. Example of generalized quantum statistics connected to the basic classical Lie superalgebra B(1|1)=osp(3|2) with interesting physical properties, such as noncommutative coordinates, will be given. Therefore the artic…
The orthosymplectic super Lie algebra $\mathfrak{osp}(1|\,2\ell)$ is the closest analog of standard Lie algebras in the world of super Lie algebras. We demonstrate that the corresponding $\mathfrak{osp}(1|\,2\ell)$-Toda chain turns out to be an instance of a $BC_\ell$-Toda chain. The underlying reason for this relation is discussed.
The algebraic structure generated by the creation and annihilation operators of a system of m parafermions and n parabosons, satisfying the mutual parafermion relations, is known to be the Lie superalgebra osp(2m+1|2n). The Fock spaces of such systems are then certain lowest weight representations of osp(2m+1|2n). In the current paper, we investigate what happens when the number of parafermions and parabosons becomes infinite. In order to analyze the algebraic structure, and the Fock spaces, we first need to develop a new matrix form for the Lie superalgebra B(n,n)=osp(2n+1|2n), and construct …
The orthosymplectic supergroup OSp(m|2n) and unitary supergroup U(p|q) are studied following a new approach that starts from Harish-Chandra pairs and links the sheaf-theoretical supermanifold approach of Berezin and others with the differential geometry approach of Rogers and others. The matrix elements of the fundamental representation of the Lie supergroup G are expressed in terms of functions on the product supermanifold G_0 x R^{0|N}, with G_0 the underlying Lie group and N the odd dimension of G. This product supermanifold is isomorphic to the supermanifold of G. This leads to a new expre…
We give a complete description of the finite-dimensional irreducible representations of the Yangian associated with the orthosymplectic Lie superalgebra $\frak{osp}_{1|2}$. The representations are parameterized by monic polynomials in one variable, they are classified in terms of highest weights. We give explicit constructions of a family of elementary modules of the Yangian and show that a wide class of irreducible representations can be produced by taking tensor products of the elementary modules.
We determine the Clebsch-Gordan and Racah-Wigner coefficients for continuous series of representations of the quantum deformed algebras U_q(sl(2)) and U_q(osp(1|2)). While our results for the former algebra reproduce formulas by Ponsot and Teschner, the expressions for the orthosymplectic algebra are new. Up to some normalization factors, the associated Racah-Wigner coefficients are shown to agree with the fusing matrix in the Neveu-Schwarz sector of N=1 supersymmetric Liouville field theory.
The spinor representations of the orthosymplectic Lie superalgebras osp(m|n) are considered and constructed. These are infinite-dimensional irreducible representations, of which the superdimension coincides with the dimension of the spinor representation of so(m-n). Next, we consider the self dual tensor representations of osp(m|n) and their generalizations: these are also infinite-dimensional and correspond to the highest irreducible component of the $p^{th}$ power of the spinor representation. We determine the character of these representations, and deduce a superdimension formula. From this…
An orthogonal basis of weight vectors for a class of infinite-dimensional representations of the orthosymplectic Lie superalgebra osp(2m+1|2n) is introduced. These representations are particular lowest weight representations V(p), with a lowest weight of the form [-p/2,...,-p/2|p/2,...,p/2], p being a positive integer. Explicit expressions for the transformation of the basis under the action of algebra generators are found. Since the relations of algebra generators correspond to the defining relations of m pairs of parafermion operators and n pairs of paraboson operators with relative paraferm…
When the relative commutation relations between a set of m parafermions and n parabosons are of ``relative parafermion type'', the underlying algebraic structure is the classical orthosymplectic Lie superalgebra osp(2m+1|2n). The relative commutation relations can also be chosen differently, of ``relative paraboson type''. In this second case, the underlying algebraic structure is no longer an ordinary Lie superalgebra, but a Z_2 x Z_2$-graded Lie superalgebra, denoted here by pso(2m+1|2n). The identification of this new algebraic structure was performed by Tolstoy, amongst others. In the pres…
It is known that the defining triple relations of m pairs of parafermion operators and n pairs of paraboson operators with relative parafermion relations can be considered as defining relations for the Lie superalgebra osp(2m+1|2n) in terms of 2(m+n) generators. With the common Hermiticity conditions, this means that the parastatistics Fock space of order p corresponds to an infinite-dimensional unitary irreducible representation V(p) of osp(2m+1|2n), with lowest weight (-p/2,...,- p/|p/2,...,p/2). These representations (also in the simplest case m=n=1) had never been constructed due to comput…
The Joseph ideal in the universal enveloping algebra U(so(m)) is the annihilator ideal of the so(m)-representation on the harmonic functions on R^{m-2}. The Joseph ideal for sp(2n) is the annihilator ideal of the Segal-Shale-Weil (metaplectic) representation. Both ideals can be constructed in a unified way from a quadratic relation in the tensor algebra of g for g equal to so(m) or sp(2n). In this paper we construct two analogous ideals in the tensor algebra of g and U(g) for g the orthosymplectic Lie superalgebra osp(m|2n)=spo(2n|m) and prove that they have unique characterizations that natur…
Recently, several papers have been dedicated to the Wigner quantization of different Hamiltonians. In these examples, many interesting mathematical and physical properties have been shown. Among those we have the ubiquitous relation with Lie superalgebras and their representations. In this paper, we study two one-dimensional Hamiltonians for which the Wigner quantization is related with the orthosymplectic Lie superalgebra osp(1|2). One of them, the Hamiltonian H = xp, is popular due to its connection with the Riemann zeros, discovered by Berry and Keating on the one hand and Connes on the oth…
We compute Haar ensemble averages of ratios of random characteristic polynomials for the classical Lie groups K = O(N), SO(N), and USp(N). To that end, we start from the Clifford-Weyl algebera in its canonical realization on the complex of holomorphic differential forms for a C-vector space V. From it we construct the Fock representation of an orthosymplectic Lie superalgebra osp associated to V. Particular attention is paid to defining Howe's oscillator semigroup and the representation that partially exponentiates the Lie algebra representation of sp in osp. In the process, by pushing the sem…
