We study the phenomenology of the mu-tau and e-tau lepton flavour violation (LFV) in a general two Higgs Doublet Model (2HDM) including the supersymmetric case. We consider several LFV decay modes of the charged fermion tau, namely tau-> l_jgamma, tau->l_j l_k l_k and tau-> l_jeta. The predictions and the correlations among the rates of the above processes are computed. In particular, it is shown that tau->l_jgamma processes are the most sensitive channels to Higgs-mediated LFV specially if the splitting among the neutral Higgs bosons masses is not below the 10% level.

The possibility of detecting a Higgs boson through several production and decay channels is instrumental to the measurement of its couplings. We study the sensitivity of the LHC, with 20 inverse-fb of data, to lepton flavour violating Higgs boson decays h -> tau+ mu- (and h -> tau+ e-). We consider the large population of Higgses produced in gluon fusion, combined with leptonic decays of the tau, and estimate that the LHC could set a 95 % confidence level bound BR(h -> tau mu) < 4.5 \times 10^{-3}. This correponds to a coupling of order the Cheng-Sher ansatz y_{tau mu} = sqrt{m_tau m_mu/v^2}.

The hadronic tau decay channel offers by far the best signature for heavy charged Higgs boson search at the LHC in the large $\tanβ$ region. By exploiting the distinct polarization of the tau and its large transverse mass, along with the accompanying missing--$p_T$, one can probe for a charged Higgs boson up to a mass of about 600 GeV in an essentially background-free environment. The transverse mass distribution of the tau jet also provides a fairly unambiguous estimate of the charged Higgs boson mass.
We study the observability of the $\tautau$ decay mode of a Higgs boson produced in the $s$-channel at a muon collider. We find that the spin correlations of the $\tautau$ in $τ\to πν_τ, ρν_τ$ decays are discriminative between the Higgs boson signal and the Standard Model background. We demonstrate that a measurement of the impact parameter in one-prong tau decay can be useful for the determination of the Higgs boson parity in the H/A --> tau tau; tau --> rho nu decay chain. We show that the decay mode B -> D tau nu is competitive with and complementary to B -> tau nu in the search for charged-Higgs effects. Updating the relevant form factors, we find that the differential distribution in the decay chain B -> D nu tau[-> pi nu] excellently discriminates between Standard-Model and charged-Higgs contributions. By measuring the D and pi energies and the angle between the D and pi three-momenta one can determine the effective charged-Higgs coupling including a possible CP-violating phase.

We study the LHC sensitivity to the charged Higgs discovery in the channel H^- -> tau_L^- nu in models with a singlet neutrino in large extra dimensions. The observation of such a signal would provide a distinctive evidence for these models since in the standard two Higgs doublet model type II, H^- -> tau_L^- nu is completely suppressed.
If neutral Higgs bosons will be discovered at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC) then an important subsequent issue will be the investigation of their CP nature. Higgs boson decays into tau lepton pairs are particularly suited in this respect. Analyzing the three charged pion decay modes of the tau leptons and taking expected measurement uncertainties at the LHC into account, we show that the CP properties of a Higgs boson can be pinned down with appropriately chosen observables, provided that sufficiently large event numbers will eventually be available.

In this letter, we report on lepton flavor violating Higgs decay into mu+tau in the framework of the generic supersymmetric standard model without R parity and list interesting combinations of R-parity violating parameters. We impose other known experimental constraints on the parameters of the model and show our results from the R-parity violating parameters. We present a very promising method for a measurement of the Higgs boson parity using the H/A -> tau^+ tau^- --> rho^+ nu rho^- nu --> pi^+ pi^0 nu pi^- pi^0 nu decay chain. We study the feasibility of the Type-X two Higgs doublet model (THDM-X) at collider experiments. In the THDM-X, new Higgs bosons mostly decay into tau leptons in the wide range of the parameter space. Such scalar bosons are less constrained by current experimental data, because of the suppressed quark Yukawa interactions. We discuss a search strategy of the THDM-X with multi-tau lepton final states at International linear collider and Large Hadron Collider. By using the collinear approximation, we show that a four tau lepton signature (e^+e^- -> HA -> 4τ) can be a clean signal.

We calculate the CP-violating rate asymmetry of H^\pm decays into tau and neutrino at one loop in the MSSM with complex parameters. We find that the asymmetry is typically of the order of 10^-3, depending mainly on the phases of the trilinear coupling A_τand of the gaugino mass M_1.
We propose an experimental test of a scenario in the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model in which both the lightest scalar and the lightest pseudoscalar Higgs bosons have masses around 125 GeV. The pseudoscalar can contribute significantly to the gamma.gamma rate at the LHC due to light Higgsino-like charginos in its effective one-loop coupling to two photons. The measurement of the trilinear couplings A in the part of the Lagrangian which breaks supersymmetry softly will be a difficult experimental task. In this report the heavy Higgs decays H,A -> stau_1 stau_2 to stau pairs are investigated for measuring the stau trilinear coupling A_tau. Based on detailed simulations of signal and backgrounds for a specific reference point in future high luminosity e+e- linear collider experiments, it is concluded that the parameter $_tau can be determined with a precision at the 10% level in the region of moderate to large tan(beta).
We study the possible effects of TeV scale new physics (NP) on the rate for Higgs boson decays to charged leptons, focusing on the tau tau channel which can be readily studied at the Large Hadron collider. The theoretically clean channel B+ -> tau+ nu shows a close to 3sigma discrepancy between the Standard Model prediction and the data. This in turn puts a strong constraint on the parameter space of a two-Higgs doublet model, including R-parity conserving supersymmetry. The constraint is so strong that it almost smells of fine-tuning. We show how the parameter space opens up with the introduction of suitable R-parity violating interactions, and release the tension between data and theory.
We investigate the production of the lightest neutral Higgs boson in association with tau sleptons in the CP violating minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM) at future high-energy $e^{+}e^{-}$ linear colliders. In parameter space of the constrained MSSM, the production cross section of $e^{+}e^{-}\to h^0\widetildeτ^+_1\widetildeτ^-_1$ can be very substantial at high energies. This process would provide a new production mechanism of neutral Higgs bosons and open a window to probe the Higgs-stau coupling and some soft supersymmetric breaking parameters at next linear colliders.
The production of a neutral, CP even Higgs via weak boson fusion and decay H -> tau tau at the LHC is studied for the Standard Model and MSSM, utilizing a parton level Monte Carlo analysis. This channel allows a 5 sigma observation of a Standard Model Higgs with an integrated luminosity of about 30 fb^-1, and provides a direct measurement of the H-tau-tau coupling. For the MSSM case, a highly significant signal for at least one of the Higgs bosons with reasonable luminosity is possible over the entire physical parameter space which will be left unexplored by LEP2.

Depending on new physics models, H^{--} has the Yukawa interaction with a pair of left-handed charged leptons or a pair of right-handed ones. The decays D(s)+- -> mu+- nu and D(s)+- -> tau+- nu have traditionally been used to measure the D(s)+- meson decay constant f_D(s). Recent measurements at CLEO-c and the B factories suggest a branching ratio for both decays somewhat higher than the Standard Model prediction using f_D(s) from unquenched lattice calculations. The process of top quark pair production at the ILC with subsequent decays of one of the top quarks to a charged Higgs boson and b-quark is considered. The charged Higgs decays to tau leptons whose polarization is the opposite to those coming from W bosons. We investigate the prospects for the discovery at the CERN Large Hadron Collider or at the Fermilab Tevatron of neutral Higgs bosons through the channel where the Higgs are produced together with a single bottom quark and the Higgs decays into a pair of tau leptons, $bg \to bϕ^0 \to bτ^+τ^-, ϕ^0 = h^0, H^0, A^0$. We work within the framework of the minimal supersymmetric model. The dominant physics background from the production of $bτ^+τ^-$, $jτ^+τ^-$ ($j = g, u, d, s, c$), $b\bar{b}W^+W^-$, $W+2j$ and $Wbj$ is calculated with realistic acceptance cuts and efficiencies. Weak boson fusion promises to be a copious source of intermediate mass Higgs bosons at the LHC. The additional very energetic forward jets in these events provide for powerful background suppression tools. We analyze the subsequent H -> tau tau -> e mu pTmiss decay for Higgs boson masses in the 100-150 GeV range. A parton level analysis of the dominant backgrounds demonstrates that this channel allows the observation of H -> tau tau in a low-background environment, yielding a significant Higgs boson signal with an integrated luminosity of order 60 fb^-1 or less, over most of the mass range. This work summarises the present understanding of the expected MSSM SUSY Higgs reach for CMS. Many of the studies presented here result from detailed detector simulations incorporating final CMS detector design and response. With 30 fb-1 the h -> gamma,gamma and h -> bb channels allow to cover most of the MSSM parameter space. For the massive A,H,H+ MSSM Higgs states the channels A,H -> tau,tau and H+ -> tau,nu turn out to be the most profitable ones in terms of mass reach and parameter space coverage.
