Langevin simulations provide an effective way to study collective effects of Brownian particles immersed in a two-dimensional periodic potential. In this paper, we concentrate essentially on the behaviour of the tracer (DTr) and bulk (DB) diffusion coefficients as function of friction. Our simulations show that in the high friction limit, the two physical quantities DTr and DB present qualitatively the same behaviour, for both coupled and decoupled substrate potentials. However, for the low friction regime, and especially for the coupled potential case, an anomalous diffusion behaviour is found. We also found that in the case of weak dynamical coupling between the ad-particles and the substrate, the exponents are not universal and rather depend on the potentials. Moreover, changes in the inter-particle potentials may reverse the behaviour to a normal one.
The motion of a tagged degree of freedom can give important insight in the interactions present in a complex environment. We investigate the dynamics of a tagged particle in two non-equilibrium systems that consist of interacting run-and-tumble particles. The first one is an exactly solvable polymer model, the second is a two-dimensional lattice model, which is studied through simulations. We find that in both cases a tagged particle shows anomalous dynamics and non-Gaussian behaviour for times below the persistence time of the run-and-tumble motion. For later times, the dynamics of the tagged…
We consider heat transfer in one-dimensional systems with long-range interactions. It is known that typical short-range interacting systems shows anomalous behavior in heat transport when total momentum is conserved, whereas momentum-nonconserving systems do not exhibit anomaly. In this study, we focus on the effect of long-range interaction. We propose an exactly solvable model that reduces to the so-called momentum-exchange model in the short-range interaction limit. We exactly calculate the asymptotic time-decay in the energy current correlation function, which is related to the thermal con…
Probing Anomalous Longitudinal Fluctuations of the Interacting Bose Gas via Bose-Einstein Condensation of Magnons
We study the anomalous dimension $η$ of homogeneous interacting single-component Bose-Einstein condensates at finite temperatures for $d\lesssim 4$ dimensions. This $η$ is defined in terms of the one-particle density matrix $ρ({\bf r})\equiv \langle \hatψ^\dagger({\bf r}_1)\hatψ({\bf r}_1+{\bf r})\rangle$ through its asymptotic behavior $ρ({\bf r})\rightarrow N_{\bf 0}/V+C r^{-d+2-η}$ for $r\rightarrow \infty$, where $N_{\bf 0}/V$ is the condensate density and $C$ is a constant. It is shown that the anomalous dimension is given by $η=0.181ε^2$ to the leading order in $ε\equiv d-4$. The change …
Many experimentally relevant quantum spin chains are approximately integrable, and support long-lived quasiparticle excitations. A canonical example of integrable model of quantum magnetism is the XXZ spin chain, for which energy spreads ballistically, but, surprisingly, high-temperature spin transport can be diffusive or superdiffusive. We review the transport properties of this model using an intuitive quasiparticle picture that relies on the recently introduced framework of generalized hydrodynamics. We discuss how anomalous linear response properties emerge from hierarchies of quasiparticl…
Anomalous Spin segregation in a weakly interacting two-component Fermi gas
我们解释了在杜克大学6Li的双组分气体中看到的自旋分离[Du,Luo,Clancy和Thomas,Phys. Rev. Lett.
In two dimensions polymer collapse has been shown to be complex with multiple low temperature states and multi-critical points. Recently, strong numerical evidence has been provided for a long-standing prediction of universal scaling of winding angle distributions, where simulations of interacting self-avoiding walks show that the winding angle distribution for N-step walks is compatible with the theoretical prediction of a Gaussian with a variance growing asymptotically as C log N . Here we extend this work by considering interacting self-avoiding trails which are believed to be a model repre…
The boundary of a topological insulator (TI) hosts an anomaly restricting its possible phases: e.g. 3D strong and weak TIs maintain surface conductivity at any disorder if symmetry is preserved on-average, at least when electron interactions on the surface are weak. However the interplay of strong interactions and disorder with the boundary anomaly has not yet been theoretically addressed. Here we study this combination for the edge of a 2D TI and the surface of a 3D weak TI, showing how it can lead to an "Anomalous Many Body Localized" (AMBL) phase that preserves the anomaly. We discuss how t…

It has been shown that the weak-interacting limit of the metric-skew-tensor-gravity (MSTG) can explain the anomalous rotation of galaxies without non-baryonic dark matter. We show that MSTG is related to the equilibrium-state of ordinary Brownian motion. We also explore if other stochastic processes can model anomalous rotation. Furthermore, we analyze phase-diagrams that elucidate the condensation of a gravitating cloud towards a Kepler-Newton system and illustrate regions of existence of rotating objects.
Chaos is an important characterization of classical dynamical systems. How is chaos linked to the long-time dynamics of collective modes across phases and phase transitions? We address this by studying chaos across Ising and Kosterlitz-Thouless transitions in classical XXZ model. We show that spatio-temporal chaotic properties have crossovers across the transitions and distinct temperature dependence in the high and low-temperature phases which show normal and anomalous diffusions, respectively. Our results also provide new insights into the dynamics of interacting quantum systems in the semic…
Quantum dynamics on quasiperiodic geometries has recently gathered significant attention in ultra-cold atom experiments where non trivial localised phases have been observed. One such quasiperiodic model is the so called Fibonacci model. In this tight-binding model, non-interacting particles are subject to on-site energies generated by a Fibonacci sequence. This is known to induce critical states, with a continuously varying dynamical exponent, leading to anomalous transport. In this work, we investigate whether anomalous diffusion present in the non-interacting system survives in the presence…
