We propose a generalization of Springer representations to the context of groups over a global function field. The global counterpart of the Grothendieck simultaneous resolution is the parabolic Hitchin fibration. We construct an action of the affine Weyl group on the direct image complex of the parabolic Hitchin fibration. In particular, we get representations of the affine Weyl group on the cohomology of parabolic Hitchin fibers, providing the first step towards a global Springer theory.
We determine a formula for the dimension of a family of affine Springer fibers associated to a symmetric space arising from the block diagonal embedding $\mathrm{GL}_n\times\mathrm{GL}_n\hookrightarrow\mathrm{GL}_{2n}$ . As an application, we determine the dimension of affine Springer fibers attached to certain unitary symmetric spaces.

Following Goresky, Kottwitz and MacPherson, we compute the homology of truncated affine Springer fibers in the unramified case but under a purity assumption. We prove this assumption in the equivalued case. The truncation parameter is viewed as a divisor on an l-adic toric variety. For each fiber, we introduce a graded quasi-coherent sheaf on the toric variety whose space of global sections is precisely the l-adic homology of the truncated affine Springer fiber. The affine Weyl group acts on the cohomology (with compact support) of affine Springer fibers (local Springer theory) and of parabolic Hitchin fibers (global Springer theory). In this paper, we show that in both situations, the action of the center of the group algebra of the affine Weyl group (the spherical part) factors through the action of the component group of the relevant centralizers. In the situation of affine Springer fibers, this partially verifies a conjecture of Goresky-Kottwitz-MacPherson and Bezrukavnikov-Varshavsky. Starting from a homogeneous affine Springer fiber $Fl_ψ$, we construct three moduli spaces that correspond to the Dolbeault, de Rham and Betti aspects of a hypothetical Simpson correspondence with wild ramifications. We show that $Fl_ψ$ is homeomorphic to the central Lagrangian fiber in the Dolbeault space, prove that the Dolbeaut and de Rham spaces both have the same cohomology as $Fl_ψ$, and construct a map from the de Rham space to the Betti space which we conjecture to be an analytic isomorphism.
Let $\mathbf{G}$ be a connected split reductive group over a field of characteristic zero or sufficiently large characteristic, $γ_0\in(\operatorname{Lie}\mathbf{G})((t))$ be any topologically nilpotent regular semisimple element, and $γ=tγ_0$. Using methods from $p$-adic orbital integrals, we show that the number of components of the Iwahori affine Springer fiber over $γ$ modulo $Z_{\mathbf{G}((t))}(γ)$ is equal to the order of the Weyl group.
For $G$ a connected reductive group, $γ\in \kg(F)$ semisimple regular integral, we introduce a fundamental domain $F_γ$ for the affine Springer fibers $\xx_γ$. There is a beautiful way to reduce the purity conjecture of $\xx_γ$ to that of $F_γ$, we call it the Arthur-Kottwitz reduction. When restricted to the unramified case, it turns out that these fundamental domains behave well in family. We formulate a rationality conjecture about a generating series of their Poincaré polynomials. We then study them in detail for the group $\gl_{3}$. We construct an action of the graded double affine Hecke algebra (DAHA) on the parabolic Hitchin complex, extending the affine Weyl group action constructed in \cite{GSI}. In particular, we get representations of the degenerate DAHA on the cohomology of parabolic Hitchin fibers. We also generalize our construction to {\em parahoric} versions of Hitchin stacks, including the construction of 'tHooft operators as a special case. We then study the interaction of the DAHA action and the cap product action given by the Picard stack acting on the parabolic Hitchin stack.

Following Steinberg, we construct an adjoint quotient for the Vinberg semi-group and a section to this quotient. Then, after Ngô, we show the existence of a regular centralizer on it and use it to compute the affine Springer fibers for groups.
We prove an explicit formula for the Poincaré polynomials of parabolic character varieties of Riemann surfaces with semisimple local monodromies, which was conjectured by Hausel, Letellier and Rodriguez-Villegas. Using an approach of Mozgovoy and Schiffmann the problem is reduced to counting pairs of a parabolic vector bundles and a nilpotent endomorphism of prescribed generic type. The generating function counting these pairs is shown to be a product of Macdonald polynomials and the function counting pairs without parabolic structure. We identify, up to homeomorphisms, the affine Springer fibers for GL(n) on a local field of equal characteristics with some coverings of compactified jacobians of singular projective curves. This allows us to prove an irreducibility property of these affine Springer fibers and to deform them.
The Springer resolution of the nilpotent cone is used to give a geometric construction of the irreducible representations of Weyl groups. Borho and MacPherson obtain the Springer correspondence by applying the decomposition theorem to the Springer resolution, establishing an injective map from the set of irreducible Weyl group representations to simple equivariant perverse sheaves on the nilpotent cone. A classical and beautiful story in geometric representation theory is the construction by Springer of an action of the Weyl group on the cohomology of the fibres of the Springer resolution of the nilpotent cone. We establish a natural extension of Springer's theory to arbitrary symplectic resolutions of conical symplectic singularities. We analyse features of the action in the case of affine quiver varieties, constructing Weyl group actions on the cohomology of $ADE$ quiver varieties, and also consider "symplectically dual" examples arising from slices in the affine Grassmannian. We study basic geometric properties of some group analogue of affine Springer fibers and compare with the classical Lie algebra affine Springer fibers. The main purpose is to formulate a conjecture that relates the number of irreducible components of such varieties for a reductive group $G$ to certain weight multiplicities defined by the Langlands dual group $\hat{G}$. We prove our conjecture in the case of unramified conjugacy class.
We state a conjecture on how to construct affine pavings for cohomologically pure projective algebraic varieties, which admit an action of torus such that the fixed points and $1$-dimensional orbits are finite. Experiments on the affine grassmannian for $\mathrm{GL}_{3}$ under the guideline of this conjecture, together with the work of Berenstein-Fomin-Zelevinsky and Kamnitzer, have led to the conjecture that the truncated affine grassmannians for $\mathrm{GL}_{r+1}$ admit affine pavings. The goal of this work is to construct a perverse t-structure on the infinity-category of l-adic LG-equivariant sheaves on the loop Lie algebra Lg and to show that the affine Grothendieck-Springer sheaf S is perverse. Moreover, S is an intermediate extension of its restriction to the locus of ``compact" elements with regular semi-simple reduction. Note that classical methods do not apply in our situation because LG and Lg are infinite-dimensional ind-schemes.
We explain an algorithm to calculate Arthur's weighted orbital integral in terms of the number of rational points on the fundamental domain of the associated affine Springer fiber. The strategy is to count the number of rational points of the truncated affine Springer fibers in two ways: by the Arthur-Kottwitz reduction and by the Harder-Narasimhan reduction. A comparison of results obtained from these two approaches gives us recurrence relations between the number of rational points on the fundamental domains of the affine Springer fibers and Arthur's weighted orbital integrals. For a Weyl group $W$ of classical type, we present a formula to calculate the restriction of (graded) Springer representations of $W$ to a maximal parabolic subgroup $W'$ where the types of $W$ and $W'$ are in the same series. As a result, we obtain recursive formulas for the Betti numbers of Springer fibers for classical types.
We compare the $K$-theory stable bases of the Springer resolution associated to different affine Weyl alcoves. We prove that (up to relabelling) the change of alcoves operators are given by the Demazure-Lusztig operators in the affine Hecke algebra. We then show that these bases are categorified by the Verma modules of the Lie algebra, under the localization of Lie algebras in positive characteristic of Bezrukavnikov, Mirković, and Rumynin. We calculate the Borel-Moore homology of affine Springer fibers of type $A$ associated to some regular semisimple nil elliptic elements. As a result, we obtain bigraded $\mf{S}_{n}$-modules whose bigraded Frobenius series are generalization of the symmetric functions introduced by Haglund, Haiman, Loehr, Remmel, and Ulyanov.
In 1976, Springer defined a correspondence making a link between the irreducible ordinary (characteristic zero) representations of a Weyl group and the geometry of the associated nilpotent variety. In this thesis, we define a modular Springer correspondence (in positive characteristic), and we show that the decomposition numbers of a Weyl group (for example the symmetric group) are particular cases of decomposition numbers for equivariant perverse sheaves on the nilpotent variety. We show that Hilbert schemes of planar curve singularities and their parabolic variants can be interpreted as certain generalized affine Springer fibers for $GL_n$, as defined by Goresky-Kottwitz-MacPherson. For any formal group law, there is a formal affine Hecke algebra defined by Hoffnung, Malagón-López, Savage, and Zainoulline. Coming from this formal group law, there is also an oriented cohomology theory. We identify the formal affine Hecke algebra with a convolution algebra coming from the oriented cohomology theory applied to the Steinberg variety. As a consequence, this algebra acts on the corresponding cohomology of the Springer fibers. In \cite{CVX3}, we have established a Springer theory for the symmetric pair $(\operatorname{SL}(N),\operatorname{SO}(N))$. In this setting we obtain representations of (the Tits extension) of the braid group rather than just Weyl group representations. These representations arise from cohomology of families of certain (Hessenberg) varieties. In this paper we determine the Springer correspondence explicitly for IC sheaves supported on order 2 nilpotent orbits. In this process we encounter universal families of hyperelliptic curves. Assuming the purity conjecture for the affine Springer fibers which has been formulated by Goresky, Kottwitz and MacPherson, we prove a geometric analog of the fundamental lemma for unitary groups. Our approach is similar to the one of Goresky, Kottwitz and MacPherson. Our main new ingredient is the link between affine Springer fibers and compactified Jacobians which is described in math.AG/0204109.

This paper is a sequel to math.RT/0601155. Let G be a complex symplectic group. In math.RT/0601155, we constructed a certain G-variety N = N_1, which we call the (1-) exotic nilpotent cone. In this paper, we study the set of G-orbits of the variety N. It turns out that the variety N gives a variant of the Springer correspondence for the Weyl group of type C, but shares a similar flavor with that of type A case. The Demazure product gives a natural monoid structure on any Coxeter group. Such structure occurs naturally in many different areas in Lie Theory. This paper studies the Demazure product of an extended affine Weyl group $\tilde W$. The main discovery is a close connection between the Demazure product of an extended affine Weyl group and the quantum Bruhat graph of the finite Weyl group. As applications, we obtain explicit formulas on the generic Newton points and the Demazure products of elements in the lowest two-sided cell/shrunken Weyl chambers of $\tilde W$, and obtain an explicit formula …
