A non-universal scalar mass supergravity type of model is explored where the first two generation of scalars and the third generation of sleptons may be very massive. Lighter or vanishing third generation of squarks as well as Higgs scalars at the unification scale cause the radiative electroweak symmetry breaking constraint to be less prohibitive. Thus, both FCNC/CP-violation problems as well as the naturalness problem are within control. We identify a large slepton mass effect in the RGE of $m_{H_D}^2$ (for the down type of Higgs) that may turn the later negative at the electroweak scale even for a small $\tanβ$. A hyperbolic branch/focus point like effect is found for $m_A^2$ that may result in very light Higgs spectra. The lightest stable particle is dominantly a bino that pair annihilates via Higgs exchange, giving rise to a WMAP satisfied relic density region for all $\tanβ$. Detection prospects of such LSPs in the upcoming dark matter experiments both of direct and indirect types (photon flux) are interesting. The Higgs bosons and the third generation of squarks are light in this scenario and these may be easily probed besides charginos and neutralinos in the early runs of LHC.
We compute the full O(alpha_s) SUSY-QCD corrections to dark matter annihilation in the Higgs-funnel, resumming potentially large mu tan beta and A_b contributions and keeping all finite O(m_b,s,1/tan^2 beta) terms. We demonstrate numerically that these corrections strongly influence the extraction of SUSY mass parameters from cosmological data and must therefore be included in common analysis tools such as DarkSUSY or micrOMEGAs.
In this paper we study sneutrino dark matter in a recently proposed supersymmetric electroweak-scale inverse seesaw model, in which the majority of the sneutrino dark matter particle is a mixture of the right-handed sneutrino $\tilde{N}^c$ and the singlet field $\tilde{S}$. The scalar field $X$ responsible for the generation of neutrino masses can simultaneously play a crucial role for sneutrino annihilation in the early Universe via the pseudoscalar mediator $A_X$ into neutrinos. We focus here on the dominant annihilation channels and provide all the formulas together with analytic estimates …
We present a complete calculation of the QCD and SUSY-QCD corrections to neutralino pair annihilation into bottom quark-antiquark pairs through exchange of a pseudoscalar Higgs boson, which is the dominant process in the cosmological A-funnel region of the mSUGRA model. We present numerical predictions for the annihilation cross section and discuss the influence of the correction terms on the cold dark matter relic density with respect to recent cosmological data.
In the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model light neutralinos can satisfy the dark matter (DM) abundance constraint by resonant annihilation via a $Z$ or a light Higgs ($h$) boson. In this work we study the current and future status of this scenario by investigating relevant experimental constraints, including DM direct detection, measurements of $Z$ and Higgs invisible decays, and direct searches at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). To take full advantage of the LHC data, we combine the results of all relevant electroweakino searches performed by the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) Collaboration.…
The pseudoscalar resonance or "A-funnel" in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model~(MSSM) is a widely studied framework for explaining dark matter that can yield interesting indirect detection and collider signals. The well-known Galactic Center excess (GCE) at GeV energies in the gamma ray spectrum, consistent with annihilation of a $\lesssim 40$ GeV dark matter particle, has more recently been shown to be compatible with significantly heavier masses following reanalysis of the background. In this paper, we explore the LHC and direct detection implications of interpreting the GCE in this e…
In the Higgs sector of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model, the mass of the pseudoscalar $A$ is an independent parameter together with $\tan β\equiv v_2/v_1$. If $m_A$ is small, then the process $e^+ e^- \to h + A$ is kinematically allowed and is suppressed only if $\tan β$ is small. On the other hand, the mass of the charged Higgs boson is now near $M_W$, and the decay $t \to b + h^+$ is enhanced if $\tan β$ is small. Since the former has not been observed, and the branching fraction of $t \to b + W$ cannot be too small (by comparing the experimentally derived $t \bar t$ cross section f…
We study dark matter at the MSSM pseudoscalar Higgs resonance (A-funnel), which is one of the few remaining MSSM thermal dark matter candidates in the $100-1000$ GeV range safe from direct detection constraints. To illustrate the various factors at play, this study is performed in two contrasting set-ups: a bottom-up phenomenological MSSM (pMSSM) approach that allows significant freedom, and the top-down, highly constrained Yukawa unified $SO(10)$ GUT model. In the pMSSM, for $μ> 0$, the entire parameter space lies above the coherent neutrino background and mostly within reach of XENON1T and L…
Recent measurements by Planck, LHC experiments, and Xenon100 have significant impact on supersymmetric models and their parameters. We first illustrate the constraints in the mSUGRA plane and then perform a detailed analysis of the general MSSM with 13 free parameters. Using SFitter, Bayesian and Profile Likelihood approaches are applied and their results compared. The allowed structures in the parameter spaces are largely defined by different mechanisms of dark matter annihilation in combination with the light Higgs mass prediction. In mSUGRA the pseudoscalar Higgs funnel and stau co-annihila…
We perform a multilepton channel analysis in the context of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) for Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe (WMAP) compatible points in a model with non-universal scalar masses, which admits a Higgs funnel region of supersymmetry dark matter even for a small $\tanβ$. In addition to two and three-lepton final states, four-lepton events, too, are shown to be useful for this purpose. We also compare the collider signatures in similar channels for WMAP compatible points in the minimal supergravity (mSUGRA) framework with similar gluino masses. Some definite features of suc…
We investigate the prospects of detecting a Higgs pseudoscalar ($A^0$) in association with a $Z$ gauge boson produced from bottom quark fusion ($b\bar{b} \to ZA^0$) at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC). A general two Higgs doublet model and the minimal supersymmetric standard model are adopted to study the discovery potential of $pp \to ZA^0 \to \ell \bar{\ell} b\bar{b} +X (\ell = e, μ)$, via $b\bar{b} \to ZA^0$ with physics backgrounds and realistic cuts. Promising results are found for $m_A \alt 400$ GeV in a general two Higgs doublet model when the heavier Higgs scalar ($H^0$) can decay …
We study the effects of scalar-pseudoscalar mixing induced from quantum loop on $ε'/ε$ in SUSY models with $\tanβ\sim m_{t}/m_{b}$. We find that even the non-universal soft ${\cal A}^{d}$ term and Yukawa matrix, $Y^{d}$, are hermitian, the predicted value of $|ε'/ε|$ can be consistent with the measured results of NA48 and KTeV. And also the EDMs are compatible with experimental bounds.
The quest for new heavy states is a critical component of the LHC physics program. In this letter, we study the search for pseudoscalar bosons produced in association with a $t\bar{t}$ pair. We consider the final state $t\bar{t} A \to t\bar{t} b\bar{b}$ with di-leptonic top pair signature, and reconstruct the boosted $A \to b\bar{b}$ candidate with jet substructure techniques, achieving a remarkable sensitivity over a broad range of pseudoscalar masses and Yukawa couplings. We apply this strategy to a Type-I Two-Higgs-Doublet Model, demonstrating its ability to probe a realistic, UV-complete e…
A popular regime in the NMSSM parameter space involves a light CP-odd Higgs $A_1$. This scenario has consequences for e.g. light singlino Dark Matter annihilating in the $A_1$-funnel. In order to confront the pseudoscalar to experimental limits such as flavour observables, Upsilon decays or Beam-Dump experiments, it is necessary to control the interactions of this particle with hadronic matter and derive the corresponding decays. The partonic description cannot be relied upon for masses close to $m_{A_1}\sim1$GeV and we employ a chiral lagrangian, then extended to a spectator model for somewha…
We discuss constraints on SUSY models with non-unified gaugino masses and R_P conservation. We derive a lower bound on the neutralino mass combining the direct limits from LEP, the indirect limits from gmuon, bsgamma, Bsmumu and the relic density constraint from WMAP. The lightest neutralino (mneutralino=6GeV) is found in models with a light pseudoscalar with MA<200GeV and a large value for $tanβ$. Models with heavy pseudoscalars lead to mneutralino>18(29)GeV for $\tanβ=50(10)$. We show that even a very conservative bound from the muon anomalous magnetic moment can increase the lower bound on …
We consider single charged Higgs ($H^{\pm}$) and pseudoscalar Higgs ($A^0$) production in association with a gauge boson at $μ^+μ^-$ colliders. We find that the tree-level t-channel and s-channel contributions to $μ^+μ^-\to H^{\pm}W^{\mp}, A^0Z$ are enhanced for large values of $\tanβ$, allowing sizeable cross-sections whose analogies at $e^+e^-$ colliders would be very small. These processes provide attractive new ways of producing such particles at $μ^+μ^-$ colliders and are superior to the conventional methods in regions of parameter space.
We consider the decay of the $Z$ boson into three pseudoscalar bosons in a general two-Higgs-doublet model. Assuming $m_A$ to be very small, and that of the two physical neutral scalar bosons $h_1$ and $h_2$, $A$ only couples to $Z$ through $h_1$, we find the $Z \to A A A$ branching fraction to be negligible for moderate values of $\tan β\equiv v_2/v_1$, if there is no $λ_5 (Φ_1^\dagger Φ_2)^2 + h.c.$ term in the Higgs potential; otherwise there is no absolute bound but very large quartic couplings (beyond the validity of perturbation theory) are needed for it to be observable.
In this study, the direct pair production of the pseudoscalar Higgs boson at a photon-photon collision is analyzed in the context of two Higgs doublet model, taking account the complete one-loop contributions. In order to illustrate the effect of the new physics, four benchmark points scenarios, which are consistent with theoretical and current experimental constraints, are chosen in the type-I of THDM with an exact alignment limit. In these benchmark points, the CP even lightest Higgs boson ($h^0$) have the Standard Model like couplings to the gauge bosons. The effect of individual contributi…
The coupled quark Dyson-Schwinger and meson Bethe-Salpeter equations in rainbow-ladder truncation for spin-0 mesons are solved in Wigner-Weyl phase in the chiral limit and beyond, retaining only the ultraviolet finite terms of the phenomenologically most successful Maris-Tandy interaction. This allows to reveal and discuss the scalar and pseudoscalar meson masses in a chirally symmetric setting without additional medium effects. Independent of the current-quark mass, the found solutions are spacelike, i.\,e.\ have negative squared masses. The current-quark mass dependence of meson masses, lept…
We will consider a SUSY-SU(5) with one right-handed neutrino with a large top like Yukawa coupling. Assuming universal soft masses at high scale we compute the low-energy spectrum and subsequently the neutralino LSP relic density taking also into consideration SU(5) as well as the see-saw running effects above the gauge coupling unification scale. We found that there exists no viable region in parameter space for $\tanβ\ler ~35$. The $\tildeτ$ coannihilation process starts becoming efficient for $\tanβ\ger 35-40$. However, this process is significantly constrained by the limited range in which…
We analyze explicit CP violation in the Higgs sector of the next-to-minimal supersymmetric standard model which contains an additional gauge singlet field N. It is shown that there is no mixing among scalar and pseudoscalar Higgs fields in the two Higgs doublets, and scalar-pseudoscalar mixings could exist between two Higgs doublets and the singlet N, and between N itself. CP symmetry is conserved in the extreme limits of < N > >> v, < N > << v, and tan beta >> 1. In the region of < N > = O(v) and tan beta = O(1), large scalar-pseudoscalar mixings are realized, and this effect can reduce the l…
In the minimal supersymmetric standard model, the Higgs sector has two unknown parameters, usually taken to be $\tan β\equiv v_2/v_1$ and $m_A$, the mass of its one physical pseudoscalar particle. By minimizing the minimum of the Higgs potential along a certain direction in parameter space, it is shown that $m_A = M_Z$ + radiative correction, and if one further plausible assumption is made, $\tan β> \sqrt 3$.
Extensions of the MSSM generically feature gauge singlet Higgs bosons. These singlet Higgs bosons have tan(beta)-enhanced Yukawa couplings to down-type quarks and leptons at the one-loop level. We present an effective Lagrangian incorporating these Yukawa couplings and use it to study their effect on singlet Higgs boson phenomenology within both the mnSSM and NMSSM. It is found that the loop-induced couplings represent an appreciable effect for the singlet pseudoscalar in particular, and may dominate its decay modes in some regions of parameter space.
We start by presenting the current status of a complex flavour conserving two-Higgs doublet model. We will focus on some very interesting scenarios where unexpectedly the light Higgs couplings to leptons and to b-quarks can have a large pseudoscalar component with a vanishing scalar component. Predictions for the allowed parameter space at end of the next run with a total collected luminosity of $300 \, fb^{-1}$ and $3000 \, fb^{-1}$ are also discussed. These scenarios are not excluded by present data and most probably will survive the next LHC run. However, a measurement of the mixing angle $…
A light pseudoscalar of the lepton-specific 2HDM can enhance the muon g-2, but suffer from various constraints easily, such as the 125.5 GeV Higgs signals, non-observation of additional Higgs at the collider and even $B_s\to μ^+μ^-$. In this paper, we take the light CP-even Higgs as the 125.5 GeV Higgs, and examine the implications of those observables on a pseudoscalar with the mass below the half of 125.5 GeV. Also the other relevant theoretical and experimental constraints are considered. We find that the pseudoscalar can be allowed to be as low as 10 GeV, but the corresponding $\tanβ$, $\s…
In models with multiple nondegenerate Higgs bosons, the decay chain $H/A \to A/H Z\to t\bar{t} Z$ may have a partial width comparable to the $t\bar{t}$ decay mode. We recast the ATLAS standard model $t\bar{t} Z$ measurement to put limits on the rate for this process. Limits are also set on the two Higgs doublet model at low $\tan β$ that are sensitive to a heavy Higgs mass as high as $\sim 750$ GeV. We then discuss the $750$ GeV diphoton excess in terms of a pseudoscalar that also has the decays $A\to HZ$ and $A\to H^\pm W^\mp$. These decays strongly constrain the partial widths for $A\toγγ$ a…
The sensitivity of the LHC experiments to the associated production of dark matter with a single top is studied in the framework of an extension of the standard model featuring two Higgs doublets and an additional pseudoscalar mediator. It is found that the experimental sensitivity is dominated by the on-shell production of a charged Higgs boson, when this assumes a mass below 1 TeV. Dedicated selections considering one and two lepton final states are developed to assess the coverage in parameter space for this signature at a centre-of-mass energy of 14 TeV assuming an integrated luminosity of…
Singlet Higgs bosons present in extensions of the MSSM can have sizable Yukawa couplings to the b quark and the tau lepton for large values of tan(beta) at the 1-loop level. We present an effective Lagrangian which incorporates these tan(beta)-enhanced Yukawa couplings and which enables us to study their effect on singlet Higgs-boson phenomenology within the context of both the mnSSM and the NMSSM. In particular, we find that the loop-induced coupling can be a significant effect for the singlet pseudoscalar, and may dominate its decay modes. Further implications of the tan(beta)-enhanced Yukaw…
We study the processes `gluon gluon -> squark antisquark CP-odd Higgs' within the theoretical framework of the Supergravity (SUGRA) inspired Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) at the leading order (LO) in perturbative Quantum Chromo-Dynamics (QCD). Other than constituting a novel production mechanism of the neutral, CP-odd Higgs particle, they also allow one to relate the size of the corresponding production rates to the ratio of the vacuum expectation values of the two Higgs fields tan(beta), to the trilinear couplings A_0 and to the sign of the Higgsino mass term sign(mu). This int…
We present the dominant two-loop electroweak corrections to the partial decay widths to gluon jets and prompt photons of the neutral CP-odd Higgs boson A^0, with mass M_{A^0} < 2 M_W, in the two-Higgs-doublet model for low to intermediate values of the ratio tan(beta) = v_2/v_1 of the vacuum expectation values. They apply as they stand to the production cross sections in hadronic and two-photon collisions, at the Tevatron, the LHC, and a future photon collider. The appearance of three gamma_5 matrices in closed fermion loops requires special care in the dimensional regularization of ultraviole…
We investigate the effects of the radiatively-generated tan beta-enhanced Higgs-singlet Yukawa couplings on the decay $Υ\to γA_1$ in the NMSSM, where $A_1$ is the lightest CP-odd scalar. This radiative coupling is found to dominate in the case of a highly singlet Higgs pseudoscalar. The branching ratio for the production of such a particle is shown to be within a few orders of magnitude of current experimental constraints across a significant region of parameter space. This represents a potentially observable signal for experiments at present B-factories.
We study the production of gamma rays via LSP annihilations in the core of the Galaxy as a possible experimental signature of the constrained minimal supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model (CMSSM), in which supersymmetry-breaking parameters are assumed to be universal at the GUT scale, assuming also that the LSP is the lightest neutralino chi. The part of the CMSSM parameter space that is compatible with the measured astrophysical density of cold dark matter is known to include a stau_1 - chi coannihilation strip, a focus-point strip where chi has an enhanced Higgsino component, and a …
We propose an experimental test of a scenario in the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model in which both the lightest scalar and the lightest pseudoscalar Higgs bosons have masses around 125 GeV. The pseudoscalar can contribute significantly to the gamma.gamma rate at the LHC due to light Higgsino-like charginos in its effective one-loop coupling to two photons. Such charginos are obtained for small values of the mu_eff parameter which also results in enhanced b.b-bar and tau+.tau- rates compared to those expected for a Standard Model Higgs boson. This scenario should result in a clear…
We discuss how new data for a_{mu}= (g-2)_{mu}/2 improve constraints on new physics. Using two types of estimations of a_{mu}^{had} (Davier & H"{o}cker (case A) and Jegerlehner2000 (case B)) we evaluate 95% CL intervals for a new contribution, which can be used to constrain any model beyond the Standard Model. We apply these intervals to the general 2HDM ("Model II"), where up to now one light neutral Higgs particle, h or A, was allowed by the data. Assuming that only one Higgs boson contributes to a_{mu}^{2HDM} the two-loop calculation based on the case A leads to the exclusion of scalar $h$ …
We discuss the implications of the recent evaluations of the SM contribution to a_mu=(g-2)_mu/2 in the light of the latest E821 measurement, which indicate \~ 3 sigma deviation. We derive the 95 % CL interval, delta a_mu, to be used to constrain any additional contribution to a_mu, beyond the SM ones; it has to have a positive sign. We apply the delta a_mu to constrain the light Higgs-boson scenarios in a Two-Higgs-Doublet-Model (``Model II''). If the constraints from the new (g-2)_mu results are combined with the other existing constraints, one can exclude a light-scalar scenario at 95 % CL, …
We present the effects of heavy CP-even (H) and CP-odd (A) Higgs bosons on the production cross section of the process $γγ$ $\to t\bar{t}$ at the energy around the mass poles of the Higgs bosons. It is found that the interference between H and A with the small mass gap, as well as the ones between Higgs bosons and the continuum, contributes to the cross section, if the photon beams are polarized and if we observe the helicity of the top quarks. It is demonstrated in the framework of the minimal supersymmetric extension of the standard model that the H and A contributions can be sizable at futu…
In this paper we briefly review the LHC discovery potential of a light pseudoscalar Higgs boson of the NMSSM, $a_1$, produced in the gluon fusion $gg\to a_1$ , bottom-quark fusion $b\bar b\to a_1$ and bottom-gluon fusion $bg\to ba_1$. We also review the LHC discovery potential of the next-to-lightest CP-even Higgs boson $h_2$ being the non-SM-like Higgs, decaying either into two light CP-odd Higgs bosons $a_1 a_1$ or into a light $a_1$ and the $Z$ gauge boson through the gluon fusion $gg \to h_2$ in the 4$τ$ final state. We find that the light $a_1$ can be detected at the LHC in a variety of p…
We study constraints on type-II two Higgs doublet models at large tan{beta} from LEP/SLD Z-pole data and from lepton universality violation in W decay. We perform a global fit and find that, in the context of Z decay, the LEP/SLD experimental values for lepton universality violation, R_b, and A_b all somewhat disfavor the model. Contributions from the neutral Higgs sector can be used to constrain the scalar-pseudoscalar Higgs mass splittings. Contributions from the charged Higgs sector allow us to constrain the charged Higgs mass. For tan{beta}=100 we obtain the 1 sigma classical (Bayesian) bo…
Very recently, the CDF Collaboration reported the first non-zero measurement of the $B_s \rightarrow μ^+ μ^-$ branching fraction. The central value of this measurement is more than 5 times of that predicted in the Standard Model and, if confirmed, would indicate the existence of new physics. We consider the implications of this measurement for the specific case of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM), and find that it requires large values of $\tan β$ ($\gsim 30$) and favors moderate values for the masses of the heavy higgs bosons ($m_A, m_H \sim 300-1200$ GeV). We also discuss the…
The prospects at the CERN LHC are investigated for the discovery via decays into muon pairs of neutral Higgs bosons in the minimal supergravity model. Promising results are found for the CP-odd pseudoscalar ($A^0$) and the heavier CP-even scalar ($H^0$) Higgs bosons at large $\tanβ\equiv v_2/v_1$. For $\tanβ\agt 10$ and 100 GeV $\alt m_A,m_H \alt$ 550 GeV, the $A^0$ and the $H^0$ masses could be precisely reconstructed from the dimuon invariant mass.
We point out that in the minimal supersymmetric standard model terms from the mixing of Higgs and Goldstone bosons which are connected to the renormalization of tan(beta) via Slavnov-Taylor identities give rise to corrections that do not vanish in the limit where the supersymmetric particles are much heavier than the Higgs bosons. These additional contributions have important phenomenological implications as they can lead to potentially large supersymmetric effects in DeltaM_d and to a significant increase of DeltaM_s relative to the standard model prediction for a light pseudoscalar Higgs A0.…
We demonstrate that the NMSSM can have small fine tuning and modest light stop mass while still evading all experimental constraints. For small tan(beta) [large tan(beta)], the relevant scenarios are such that there is always (often) a SM-like Higgs boson that decays to two lighter -- possibly much lighter -- pseudoscalar Higgses.
We address the computation of Γ_Z and of the intriguing quantity R_b in the MSSM including full treatment of the Higgs sector. For a pseudoscalar Higgs mass m_{A^0}>70\,GeV and CDF limits on m_t, the bounds on R_b at 1σlevel leave no room to the MSSM to solve the `R_b crisis' for any combination of the parameters, not even admitting the possibility of a light chargino and a light stop of O(50) GeV; however, for m_t not restricted by CDF, a `tangential' solution exists in the window 2<\tanβ<10 with a light chargino and stop. In contrast, for a pseudoscalar mass 40\,GeV<m_{A^0}<60\,GeV and CDF l…
Higgs singlet superfields are usually present in most extensions of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) that address the mu-problem, such as the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM) and the Minimal Nonminimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MNSSM). Employing a gauge- and flavour-covariant effective Lagrangian formalism, we show how the singlet Higgs bosons of such theories can have significant contributions to B-meson flavour-changing neutral current (FCNC) observables for large values of $\tanβ\stackrel{>}{{}_\sim} 50$ at the 1-loop level. Illustrative results are…
In the minimal supersymmetric Standard Model, the heaviest CP-even Higgs boson H and the CP-odd Higgs scalar A are predicted to be almost degenerate in mass at the tree level, for the wide kinematic range M_A > 2M_Z and \tanβ\ge 2. However, if large soft-CP-violating Yukawa interactions involving scalar quarks of the third generation are present in the theory, then the CP invariance of the Higgs potential can be maximally broken beyond the Born approximation, and the high degree of mass degeneracy between H and A may be lifted through a sizeable HA mixing. After taking the CP-odd tadpole renor…
psi and Upsilon decays may be used to search for light neutral spin-1 or spin-0 bosons associated with a broken extra-U(1) symmetry, local or global, acting axially on quarks and leptons, as may be present in supersymmetric theories with a lambda H_1 H_2 S superpotential term. Recent data on Upsilon --> gamma + invisible neutral constrain an axial, pseudoscalar or scalar coupling to b to f_bA < 4 10^-7 m_U(MeV)/ sqrt B_inv, f_bP < 4 10^-3/ sqrt B_inv or f_bS < 6 10^-3/ sqrt B_inv, respectively. This also constrains, from universality properties, couplings to electrons to f_eA < 4 10^-7 m_U(MeV…
We investigate the low energy phenomenology of the lighter pseudoscalar $A_1^0$ in the NMSSM. The $A_1^0$ mass can naturally be small due to a global $U(1)_R$ symmetry of the Higgs potential, which is only broken by trilinear soft terms. The $A_1^0$ mass is further protected from renormalization group effects in the large $\tan β$ limit. We calculate the $b \to s A_1^0$ amplitude at leading order in $\tan β$ and work out the contributions to rare $K$, $B$ and radiative $Υ$-decays and $B -\bar B$ mixing. We obtain constraints on the $A_1^0$ mass and couplings and show that masses down to ${\cal…
We re-investigate the neutralino-nucleus elastic scattering as a promising dark matter detection mechanism including contributions from the scalar-pseudoscalar mixing of neutral Higgs states and the induced phase between two Higgs doublets due to the CP-violating phases of the scalar top and bottom sectors in the minimal supersymmetric standard model. The spin-dependent part of the cross section turns out to be hardly affected by the CP-violating induced phase due to a mutually destructive unavoidable suppression mechanism of various relevant supersymmetric parameters. On the other hand, altho…
We investigate the prospects for the discovery of neutral Higgs bosons produced with a bottom quark where the Higgs decays into a pair of tau leptons and the taus decay into an electron-muon pair, i.e. $bg \to bϕ^0 \to bτ^+τ^- \to be^\pmμ^\mp + E\!\!\!/_T$, $ϕ^0 = h^0, H^0, A^0$. Our study has been done within the framework of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model. We consider the dominant physics backgrounds including the production of Drell-Yan processes ($bτ^+τ^-$ and $jτ^+τ^-, j = q, g$), top quark pair ($t\bar{t}$), $tW$ and $jWW$ with realistic acceptance cuts and efficiencies. We pr…
In this article, we explore the ability of direct and indirect dark matter experiments to not only detect neutralino dark matter, but to constrain and measure the parameters of supersymmetry. In particular, we explore the relationship between the phenomenological quantities relevant to dark matter experiments, such as the neutralino annihilation and elastic scattering cross sections, and the underlying characteristics of the supersymmetric model, such as the values of mu (and the composition of the lightest neutralino), m_A and tan beta. We explore a broad range of supersymmetric models and th…
We calculate the relic density ($Ω_{χ^0_1} h^2$) of neutralino dark matter in supergravity models with radiative electroweak symmetry breaking, for values of the Higgs sector parameter $\tanβ\equiv v_2/v_1$ between the two infrared fixed points of the top quark Yukawa coupling, $\tanβ\simeq 1.8$ and $\tanβ\simeq 56$. For $\tanβ\alt 10$, the CP-odd Higgs pseudoscalar ($A^0$) and the heavier CP-even Higgs scalar ($H^0$) are much heavier than the lightest neutralino ($χ^0_1$), and the annihilation cross section of $χ^0_1$ pairs is significantly enhanced only in the vicinity of the lighter CP-even…
The type X (lepton-specific) two-Higgs-doublet model at large $\tanβ$ becomes leptophilic and thus allows a light pseudoscalar $A$ accommodating the observed muon $g-2$ deviation without conflicting with various hadronic constraints. On the other hand, it is strongly constrained by leptonic precision observables such as lepton universality test in the neutral and charged currents. Treating all the lepton universality data in a consistent way, we show how the current data constrain the parameter space of $m_A$ and $\tanβ$ for given degenerate masses of heavy Higgs bosons $H$ and $H^\pm$. While …
We consider the capability of the e^+e^- linear collider (which is recently called as the International Linear Collider, or ILC) for studying the properties of the heavy Higgs bosons in the supersymmetric standard model. We pay special attention to the large \tanβregion which is motivated, in particular, by explaining the dark-matter density of the universe (i.e., so-called ``rapid-annihilation funnels''). We perform a systematic analysis to estimate expected uncertainties in the masses and widths of the heavy Higgs bosons assuming an energy and integrated luminosity of \sqrt{s}=1 TeV and L=1 …
We combine the analyses for flavor changing neutral current processes and dark matter solutions in minimal-type supersymmetric grand unified theory (GUT) models, SO(10) and SU(5), with a large B_s - anti-B_s mixing phase and large tan beta. For large tan beta, the double penguin diagram dominates the SUSY contribution to the B_s - anti-B_s mixing amplitude. Also, the Br(B_s -> mu mu) constraint becomes important as it grows as tan^6 beta, although it can still be suppressed by large pseudoscalar Higgs mass m_A. We investigate the correlation between B_s -> mu mu and the dark matter direct dete…
The recent measurement on the muon anomalous magnetic moment $a_μ$ shows a $2.6σ$ deviation from the standard model value. We show that it puts strong constraints on the parameter space of the two-higgs doublet model (2HDM) II. The dominant contribution of the Higgses comes at the two-loop level, and in order to explain the data it favors a pseudoscalar $A$ with a light mass range and a large $\tanβ$. At 95% C.L., upper limit for $m_{\scriptscriptstyle A}$ is $29 (55) (85)$ GeV for $\tanβ=30 (45) (60)$, and $\tan β$ is bounded below at 17. This is in sharp contrast to the conclusion one draws …
