We report the characterization of layered, 2H-type CuxTaS2, for x between 0 and 0.12. The charge density wave (CDW), at 70 K for TaS2, is destabilized with Cu doping. The sub-1K superconducting transition in undoped 2H-TaS2 jumps quickly to 2.5 K at low x, increases to 4.5 K at the optimal composition Cu0.04TaS2, and then decreases at higher x. The electronic contribution to the specific heat, first increasing and then decreasing as a function of Cu content, is 12 mJ mol-1 K-2 at Cu0.04TaS2. Electron diffraction studies show that the CDW remains present at the optimal superconducting composition, but with both a changed q vector and decreased coherence length. We present an electronic phase diagram for the system.
We report the effect of pressure on the electrical transport properties of the four-layer-type bismuth chalcogenide semiconductors LaOPbBiS$_{3}$ and La$_{2}$O$_{2}$Bi$_{3}$AgS$_{6}$ and present the discovery of a pressure-induced superconductivity. In both compounds, the semiconductorlike behavior concomitant with an anomaly in the more insulating state is gradually suppressed with increasing pressure while the superconductivity develops. The obtained phase diagrams, in sharp contrast with the interplay between the conventional charge density waves and superconductivity, suggest that the enha…
The distinct difference between BCS-type and unconventional triplet superconductivity manifests itself in their response to external magnetic fields. An applied field easily extinguishes s-wave singlet superconductivity by both the paramagnetic or orbital pair-breaking effects. However, it hardly destroys triplet state because the paramagnetic effect, owing to spins of the Cooper pairs readily aligned with the field, is not so efficacious. This suggests that the triplet superconductivity may be affected mostly by the orbital effect. Conversely, if one can break down the orbital effect then one…
Magnetism and superconductivity often compete for preeminence as a material's ground state, and in the right circumstances the fluctuating remains of magnetic order can induce superconducting pairing. The intertwining of the two on the microscopic level, independent of lattice excitations, is especially pronounced in heavy fermion compounds, rare earth cuprates, and iron pnictides. Here we point out that for a helical arrangement of localized spins, a variable magnetic pitch length provides a unique tuning process from ferromagnetic to antiferromagnetic ground state in the long and short wavel…
Superconductivity in layered cuprates is induced by doping holes into a parent antiferromagnetic insulator. It is now recognized that another common emergent order involves charge stripes, and our understanding of the relationship between charge stripes and superconductivity has been evolving. Here we review studies of 214 cuprate families obtained by doping La$_2$CuO$_4$. Charge-stripe order tends to compete with bulk superconductivity; nevertheless, there is plentiful evidence that it coexists with two-dimensional superconductivity. This has been interpreted in terms of pair-density-wave sup…
Electrical magnetoresistance and tunnel diode oscillator measurements were performed under external magnetic fields up to 41 T applied along the crystallographic b-axis (hard axis) of UTe$_2$ as a function of temperature and applied pressures up to 18.8 kbar. In this work, we track the field-induced first-order transition between superconducting and magnetic field-polarized phases as a function of applied pressure, showing a suppression of the transition with increasing pressure until the demise of superconductivity near 16 kbar and the appearance of a pressure-induced ferromagnetic-like groun…
In the usual perception, surface superconductivity is associated with the surface nucleation of a superconducting condensate above the upper critical field in type-II superconductors or with a rearrangement of phonon properties and the electron-phonon coupling near surfaces/interfaces. Recently, it has been found that there is another example when the surface superconducting temperature is increased up to 20-25% as compared to the bulk one due to constructive interference of superconducting pair states. In the present work, we demonstrate that in fact, such an interferenceinduced enhancement c…
This work investigates the relation between superconductivity and correlations. A simple calculation shows that the appropriate spin-charge correlation is the key role to any superconductivity, and this calculation is consistent with the analyses of unusual properties of superconductors. (Note: the Tc of this model is not given clearly in this work, but we have advanced this mechanism to a t-x model which includes various superconductivities and magnetisms (please see arXiv:0707.3660 and following works).)
Synthesis of monolayer FeSe on SrTiO3, with greatly enhanced superconductivity compared to bulk FeSe, remains difficult. Lengthy annealing within a certain temperature window is always required to achieve superconducting samples as reported by different groups around the world, but the mechanism of annealing in inducing superconductivity has not been elucidated. We grow FeSe films on SrTiO3 by molecular beam epitaxy and adjust the stoichiometry by depositing additional small amounts of Fe atoms. The monolayer films become superconducting after the Fe deposition without any annealing, and show …
The model is based on a mirror symmetry breaking second order phase transition leading to a pairing between a free charge carriers and a free mirror charge carriers. This approach gives a unified description of low and high Tc superconductivity with a point of view differing from that of BCS theory. The material's crystal structure symmetry is the key to understand the mechanism of pairing by introducing a mirror plane polarization effect in lattice as it is described below.
A series of high-pressure resistivity measurements on single crystals of TbTe3 reveal a complex phase diagram involving the interplay of superconducting, antiferromagnetic and charge density wave orders. The onset of superconductivity reaches a maximum of ~ 3.5 K (onset) near 75 kbar.
In the iron arsenide compound BaFe2As2, superconductivity can be induced either by a variation of its chemical composition, e.g., by replacing Fe with Co, or by a reduction of the unit-cell volume through the application of hydrostatic pressure p. In contrast to chemical substitutions, pressure is expected to introduce no additional disorder into the lattice. We compare the two routes to superconductivity by measuring the p dependence of the superconducting transition temperature Tc of Ba(Fe(1-x)Cox)2As2 single crystals with different Co content x. We find that Tc(p) of underdoped and overdope…

The competition of superconductivity and a d charge-density wave (CDW) is studied in the t-J model as a function of temperature at large N where N is the number of spin components. Applying the theory to electronic Raman scattering the temperature dependence of the $B_{1g}$ and the $A_{1g}$ spectra are discussed for a slightly underdoped case.
Hole-doped cuprate superconductors show a ubiquitous tendency towards charge order. Although onset of superconductivity is known to suppress charge order, there has not so far been a decisive demonstration of the reverse process, namely, the effect of charge order on superconductivity. To gain such information, we report here the dependence of the critical temperature $T_{\mathrm{c}}$ of YBa$_2$Cu$_3$O$_{6.67}$ on in-plane uniaxial stress up to 2 GPa. At a compression of about 1 GPa along the $a$ axis, 3D-correlated charge density wave (3D CDW) order appears. We find that $T_{\mathrm{c}}$ decr…
It is shown that charge ordering in layered crystalline metals causes an increase in the normal state energy of the conducting layers. If this increase in the energy exceeds the difference between the superconducting state energy and the normal state energy of the metal, then the superconducting transition occurs. A relation between the charge gap in the superconducting phase and the bandgap width in the undoped insulating phase of high-temperature superconductors is obtained.
We present a scenario for iron-pnictide superconductivity mediated by charge fluctuations that are strongly enhanced by Fe-As intersite electronic interactions. Deriving an eight-band extended Hubbard model including Fe 3$d$ and As 4$p$ orbitals for the LaOFeAs family, we show that charge fluctuations induced by $p$-$d$ charge transfer and As orbital polarization interactions in the Fe-pnictogen structure peak at wavevectors $(0, 0)$, and ($π$, 0) and ($π$, $π$) respectively. Intraorbital spin-singlet pairing attraction develops at these wavevectors and the solution of the linearized gap equat…
A combined resistivity and hard x-ray diffraction study of superconductivity and charge ordering in $\mathrm{Ir_{1-x}Pt_xTe_2}$, as a function of Pt substitution and externally applied hydrostatic pressure, is presented. Experiments are focused on samples near the critical composition $x_c\sim 0.045$ where competition and switching between charge order and superconductivity is established. We show that charge order as a function of pressure in $\mathrm{Ir_{0.95}Pt_{0.05}Te_{2}}$ is preempted - and hence triggered - by a structural transition. Charge ordering appears uniaxially along the short …
Pd-intercalated ErTe$_3$ is studied as a model system to explore the effect of "intertwined" superconducting and charge density wave (CDW) orders. Despite the common wisdom that superconductivity emerges only when CDW is suppressed, we present data from STM and AC susceptibility measurements that show no direct competition between CDW order and superconductivity. Both coexist over most of the intercalation range, with uniform superconductivity over length scales that exceed the superconducting coherence length. This is despite persisting short-range CDW order and increased scattering from the …
We systematically investigated the superconducting properties and the interplay between charge-density-waves (CDW) and superconductivity in lithium-intercalated 2H-TaS2. By gradually increasing the lithium content x, the CDW formation temperature is continuously suppressed, and the onset temperature of superconductivity is increased with a maximum transition temperature Tc = 3.5 K for x = 0.096. The bulk nature of superconductivity is confirmed by a superconducting shielding fraction of the order of unity for this composition. The electronic contribution to the specific heat and Hall resistivi…
I present the results of first principles calculations of the phonon dispersions and electron-phonon coupling for BaTi$_2$Sb$_2$O. The phonon dispersions show a weak lattice instability near the zone corners that leads to a charge-density wave phase. The calculations of the electron-phonon coupling reveal strong coupling, especially to the in-plane Ti modes. The total coupling is large enough to readily explain the superconductivity in this compound. As the Fermi surfaces are disconnected with different orbital character weights, this compound is likely to host a multiband superconductivity.
One of the central issues in the recent study of cuprate superconductors is the interplay of charge order with superconductivity. Here the interplay of charge order with superconductivity in cuprate superconductors is studied based on the kinetic-energy-driven superconducting (SC) mechanism by taking into account the intertwining between the pseudogap and SC gap. It is shown that the appearance of the Fermi pockets is closely associated with the emergence of the pseudogap. However, the distribution of the spectral weight of the SC-state quasiparticle spectrum on the Fermi arc, or equivalently …
Over the past decade, a combination of crystal structure prediction techniques and experimental synthetic work has thoroughly explored the phase diagrams of binary hydrides under pressure. The fruitfulness of this dual approach is demonstrated in the recent identification of several superconducting hydrides with $T_c$s approaching room temperature. We start with an overview of the computational procedures for predicting stable structures and estimating their propensity for superconductivity. A survey of phases with high $T_c$ reveals some common structural features that appear conducive to the…
We report variation of lattice structure in diborides (AB2) with different A atoms to identify the special case of MgB2 showing high Tc superconductivity. High purity MgB2 (Tc~39 K) has been prepared by direct reaction of the elements and the lattice parameters are measured by x-ray diffraction determining the strain e of the B-B distance. The results show that the superconductivity in these intermetallics appear near a critical point in a two variables (strain and charge density) phase diagram at (ec, rc).
We elucidate the origin of the phonon-mediated superconductivity in 2$H$-NbS$_2$ using the ab initio anisotropic Migdal-Eliashberg theory including Coulomb interactions. We demonstrate that superconductivity is associated with Fermi surface hot spots exhibiting an unusually strong electron-phonon interaction. The electron-lattice coupling is dominated by low-energy anharmonic phonons, which place the system on the verge of a charge density wave instability. We also provide definitive evidence for two-gap superconductivity in 2$H$-NbS$_2$, and show that the low- and high-energy peaks observed i…
Magnetization and muon spin rotation experiments were performed in La_(2-x)Ba_xCuO_4 (x = 1/8) as a function of hydrostatic pressure up to p = 2.2 GPa. It was found that the magnetic volume fraction of the static stripe phase strongly decreases linearly with pressure, while the superconducting volume fraction increases by the same amount. This demonstrates competition between bulk superconductivity and static magnetic order in the stripe phase of La_1.875Ba_0.125CuO_4 and that these phenomena occur in mutually exclusive spatial regions. The present results also reveal that the static spin-stri…
Experiments have shown that the families of cuprate superconductors that have the largest transition temperature at optimal doping also have the largest oxygen hole content at that doping. They have also shown that a large charge-transfer gap, a quantity accessible in the normal state, is detrimental to superconductivity. We solve the three-band Hubbard model with cellular dynamical mean-field theory and show that both of these observations follow from the model. Cuprates play a special role amongst doped charge-transfer insulators of transition metal oxides because copper has the largest cova…
The recently reported \textit{A}V$_3$Sb$_5$ (\textit{A} = K, Rb, Cs) family of kagome metals are candidates for unconventional superconductivity and chiral charge density wave (CDW) order; both potentially arise from nested saddle points in their band structures close to the Fermi energy. Here we use chemical substitution to introduce holes into CsV$_3$Sb$_{5}$ and unveil an unconventionalcoupling of the CDW and superconducting states. Specifically, we generate a phase diagram for CsV$_3$Sb$_{5-x}$Sn$_{x}$ that illustrates the impact of hole-doping the system and lifting the nearest vHs toward…
In-situ hydrostatic and uniaxial high pressure studies were performed on recently discovered CrAs-based qausi-one-dimensional superconductors A2Cr3As3 (A=K and Rb). The established Pressure-Temperature phase diagram in this study clearly demonstrates that either hydrostatic pressure or uniaxial pressure globally suppresses the superconducting transition temperature (Tc), and the latter is more effective than the former. Interestingly, in the same hydrostatic pressure environment, the suppressing rate of Tc in Rb2Cr3As3 is nearly twice as that of K2Cr3As3. Significantly, the reduced Tc in these…
Solid 4He may acquire superfluid characteristics due to the frustration of the solid phase at grain boundaries. Here, we show that an analogous effect occurs in systems with competition among charge-density-waves (CDWs) and superconductivity in the presence of disorder, as cuprate or dichalcogenide superconductors. The CDWs breaks apart in domains with topologically protected filamentary superconductivity (FSC) at the interfaces. Transport experiments carried out in underdoped cuprates with the magnetic field acting as a control parameter are shown to be in excellent agreement with the theoret…
In elemental metals the pairing of electrons leading to superconductivity is mediated by the vibrations of the crystal lattice and the pairs have spherical symmetry. For layered organic molecular crystals there is no consensus about the pairing symmetry or the mechanism of the superconductivity. We show theoretically that the mechanism of superconductivity for members of the (BEDT-TTF)2X family with the theta and beta'' crystal structures is mediated by charge fluctuations and the superconducting order parameter has dxy symmetry. This is in contrast to the kappa-(BEDT-TTF)2X family, for which …
In contrast to its bulk crystals, the FeSe film or layer exhibits better superconductivity performance, which attract much interest in its fundamental research as well as potential application. In present work, transition from insulator to superconductor and significant enhancement of superconductivity were achieved in the high quality (00l) oriented FeSe films via controlling the thickness as well as the Fe/Se ratio. The highest Tc up to 15.2 K (almost 2 times higher than those of bulk crystals) and Hc2 up to 35.5 T are obtained in our atmosphere-stable FeSe thin film with practical thickness…
To investigate the superconducting (SC) state near a charge instability, we performed ^{13}C NMR experiments on the molecular superconductor beta"-(BEDT-TTF)_{4}[(H_{3}O)Ga(C_{2}O_{4})_{3}]C_{6}H_{5}NO_{2}, which exhibits a charge anomaly at 100 K. The Knight shift which we measured in the SC state down to 1.5 K demonstrates that Cooper pairs are in spin-singlet state. Measurements of the nuclear spin-lattice relaxation time reveal strong electron-electron correlations in the normal state. The resistivity increase observed below 10 K indicates that the enhanced fluctuation has an electric orig…
The quarter-filling extended Hubbard model on the triangular lattice is studied to explore pairing instability in the three-fold charge-ordered (CO) metal. We derive a second-order strong-coupling effective Hamiltonian of doped carriers into the three-fold CO insulator at electron density of $n=2/3$, and then study the $f$- and $d_{xy}$-wave superconductivities down to $n=1/2$ by using the BCS mean-field approximation. It is found that the triplet $f$-wave pairing is more stable than the $d_{xy}$-wave one. We also point out that this coexisting state of the charge ordering and superconductivit…
The family of AV$_3$Sb$_5$ (A = K, Rb, Cs) kagome metals exhibit charge density wave (CDW) order, proposed to be chiral, followed by a lower temperature superconducting state. Recent studies have proposed the importance of band structure saddle points proximal to the Fermi energy in governing these two transitions. Here we show the effects of hole-doping achieved via chemical substitution of Sn for Sb on the CDW and superconducting states in both KV$_3$Sb$_5$ and RbV$_3$Sb$_5$, and generate a phase diagram. Hole-doping lifts the $Γ$ pocket and van Hove singularities (vHs) toward $E_F$ causing …
The discovery of charge-density-wave order in the high-temperature superconductor YBa$_2$Cu$_3$O$_{6+y}$ places charge order centre stage with superconductivity, suggesting they they are intertwined rather than competing.
We explore the effect of lattice anisotropy on the charge-ordered superconductor 2H-NbSe$_{2}$. Using a novel strain apparatus, we measure the superconducting transition temperature $T_{sc}$ as a function of uniaxial strain. It is found that $T_{sc}$ is independent of tensile(compressive) strain below a threshold of 0.2\% (0.1\%), but decreases strongly with larger strains with an average rate of $1.3\,$K/\% ($2.5\,$K/\%). Transport signatures of charge order are largely unaffected as a function of strain. Theoretical considerations show that the change in the behavior of $T_{sc}$ with strain …
New insight into the superconducting properties of HgBa2CuO4 (Hg-1201) cuprates is provided by combined measurements of the electrical resistivity and single crystal X-ray diffraction under pressure. The changes induced by increasing pressure up to 20GPa in optimally doped single crystals were investigated. The resistivity measurements as a function of temperature show a metallic behavior up to ~10GPa that gradually passes to an insulating state, typical of charge ordering, that totally suppresses superconductivity above 13GPa. The changes in resistivity are accompanied by the apparition of sh…
We study proximity effect in diffusive ferromagnet/normal-metal/superconductor junction with precessing magnetization of the ferromagnet. We find that the odd-frequency pairing induced in the normal metal is modified by spin pumping from the ferromagnet and hence can be tuned by changing the precessional frequency. At the frequency corresponding to twice the superconducting gap, the odd-frequency pairing is strongly enhanced. We find a crossover from the even- to the odd-frequency superconductivity in the normal metal by tuning the precessional frequency. This gives a clearcut signature of the…
Neither BCS theory nor London theory contain any charge asymmetry. However it is an experimental fact that a rotating superconductor always exhibits a magnetic field parallel, never antiparallel, to its angular velocity. This and several other experimental observations point to a special role of charge asymmetry in superconductivity, which is the foundation of the theory of hole superconductivity. The theory describes heavy dressed {\it positive} hole carriers in the normal state that undress by pairing and become light undressed {\it negative} electron carriers in the superconducting state. S…
Superconductivity in the quasi-one-dimensional material Li$_{0.9}$Mo$_6$O$_{17}$ is analyzed based on a multiorbital extended Hubbard model. We found strong charge fluctuations at two different momenta ${\bf Q_1}$ and ${\bf Q_2}$ giving rise to two different charge ordered phases. Evaluating the superconducting vertex, we found superconductivity near strong charge fluctuations at ${\bf Q_1}$. The order parameter has the p-wave symmetry with nodes on the Fermi surface. The metallic state displays a characteristic charge collective mode ${\bf Q_1}$ due to nesting and for on-site Hubbard repulsio…
The interplay between superconductivity and charge density waves (CDW) in $H$-NbSe2 is not fully understood despite decades of study. Artificially introduced disorder can tip the delicate balance between two competing forms of long-range order, and reveal the underlying interactions that give rise to them. Here we introduce disorders by electron irradiation and measure in-plane resistivity, Hall resistivity, X-ray scattering, and London penetration depth. With increasing disorder, $T_{\textrm{c}}$ varies nonmonotonically, whereas $T_{\textrm{CDW}}$ monotonically decreases and becomes unresolva…
We observe charge-order fluctuations in the quasi-two-dimensional organic superconductor $β^{\prime\prime}$-(BEDT-TTF)2 SF5 CH2 CF2 SO3 both by means of vibrational spectroscopy, locally probing the fluctuating charge order, and investigating the in-plane dynamical response by infrared reflectance spectroscopy. The decrease of effective electronic interaction in an isostructural metal suppresses both charge-order fluctuations and superconductivity, pointing on their interplay. We compare the results of our experiments with calculations on the extended Hubbard model.
The pairing symmetry in the electron mechanism for superconductivity is explored when charge fluctuations coexist with spin fluctuations. The extended Hubbard model is adopted to obtain, with the fluctuation exchange approximation, a phase diagram against the on-site Coulomb repulsion U and the off-site repulsion V for the square lattice with second-neighbor hopping t'. We have found that (i) for large U(>9) a triplet superconductivity with a sin(kx+ky) symmetry can appear just below the charge density wave phase. The pairing is degenerate with sin(kx-ky), so a chiral sin(kx+ky)+isin(kx-ky) th…
The kagome metal KV$_3$Sb$_5$ hosts charge order, topologically nontrivial Dirac band crossings, and a superconducting ground state with unconventional characteristics, providing an ideal platform to investigate the interplay between different electronic states on the kagome lattice. Here we study the evolution of charge order and superconductivity in KV$_3$Sb$_5$ under hydrostatic pressure using electrical resistivity measurements. With the application of pressure, the superconducting transition temperature $T_{\rm c}=0.9$ K under ambient pressure quickly increases to 3.1 K at $p=0.4$ GPa, as…
Recent experiments show that charge-density-wave correlations are prevalent in underdoped cuprate superconductors. The correlations are short ranged at weak magnetic fields but their intensity and spatial extent increase rapidly at low temperatures beyond a crossover field. Here we consider the possibility of long-range charge-density-wave order in a model of a layered system where such order competes with superconductivity. We show that in the clean limit, low-temperature long-range order is stabilized by arbitrarily weak magnetic fields. This apparent discrepancy with the experiments is resol…
We explore the interplay of a charge density wave (CDW) order and s-wave superconductivity (sSC) in a disordered system. Recent experiments on 1T-TiSe_2, where the pristine sample has a commensurate CDW order and the superconductivity appears upon copper intercalation, motivates our study. Starting with an extended Hubbard model, with parameters which yield a CDW ground state within Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov formalism in pure systems, we show that the addition of disorder quickly wipes out the global charge order by disrupting periodic modulation of density at some (low) strength of disorder. Al…
We study the pairing potential induced by fluctuations around a charge-density wave (CDW) with scattering vector Q by means of the Froehlich transformation. For general commensurability M, defined as |k+M*Q>=|k>, we find that the intraband pair scattering within the M subbands scales with M whereas the interband pair scattering becomes suppressed with increasing CDW order parameter. As a consequence superconductivity is suppressed when the Fermi energy is located between the subbands as it is usually the case for nesting induced CDW's, but due to the vertex renormalization it can be substantia…
The discovery of a two-dimensional (2D) electron gas at the (110)-oriented LaAlO3/SrTiO3 in- terface provided us with the opportunity to probe the effect of crystallographic orientation and the ensuing electronic reconstructions on interface properties beyond the conventional (001)-orientation. At temperatures below 200 mK, we have measured 2D superconductivity with a spatial extension significantly larger (d approx. 24 - 30 nm) than previously reported for (001)-oriented LaAlO3/SrTiO3 interfaces (d approx. 10 nm). The more extended superconductivity brings about the absence of violation of th…
We carried out specific-heat and ac-susceptibility experiments under hydrostatic pressure to investigate the interplay of spin-density-wave antiferromagnetism (A) and superconductivity (S) in single-crystalline AS-type CeCu2Si2. We find evidence for a line of magnetic-field- and pressure-tuned quantum critical points in the normal state in the zero-temperature magnetic field-pressure plane. Our analysis suggests an extension of this line into the superconducting state and corroborates the close connection of the underlying mechanisms leading to the formation of the antiferromagnetic and the su…

Superconductivity in Na$_x$CoO$_2$$\cdot$yH$_2$O is likely to be a p or d-wave; however, experiments are unable to pinpoint the symmetry. A simple estimate of pair breaking effects from an unavoidable `Na$^+$ vacancy disorder' in an ordered Na$^+$ lattice, at an optimal $x_{\rm opt} \approx 0.30$ is shown to destroy a Fermi liquid based p or d-wave superconductivity. However, a robustness of superconducting and normal states, seen in experiments is pointed out and argued to imply presence of a `quantum protectorate', possibly a `spin-charge decoupling' that protects a d$_1$+id$_2$ and not a p-…
The newly discovered Kagome superconductors $A$V$_3$Sb$_5$ ($A$ = K, Rb, Cs) exhibit superconductivity, charge order, and band topology simultaneously. To explore the intricate interplay between the superconducting and charge orders, we investigate the doping evolution of superconductivity, charge-density-wave (CDW) order, and band topology in doped topological kagome superconductors Cs(V$_{1-x}$Ti$_x$)$_3$Sb$_5$ where the Ti-dopant introduces hole-like charge carriers. Despite the absence of the CDW phase transition in doped compounds even for the lowest doping level of $x=0.047$, the superco…
This paper shows the existence of a duality between an unidirectional charge density wave order and a superconducting order. This duality predicts the existence of charge density wave near a superconducting vortex, and the existence of superconductivity near a charge density wave dislocation.
