The free abelian group R(Q) on the set of indecomposable representations of a quiver Q, over a field K, has a ring structure where the multiplication is given by the tensor product. We show that if Q is a rooted tree (an oriented tree with a unique sink), then the ring $R(Q)_{red}$ is a finitely generated $\Z$-module (here $R(Q)_{red}$ is the ring R(Q) modulo the ideal of all nilpotent elements). We will describe the ring $R(Q)_{red}$ explicitly, by studying functors from the category Rep(Q) of representations of Q over K to the category of finite dimensional K-vector spaces. We also present an open problem for future direction.
We study Gorenstein flat objects in the category ${\sf Rep}(Q,R)$ of representations of a left rooted quiver $Q$ with values in ${\sf Mod}(R)$, the category of all left $R$-modules, where $R$ is an arbitrary associative ring. We show that a representation $X$ in ${\sf Rep}(Q,R)$ is Gorenstein flat if and only if for each vertex $i$ the canonical homomorphism $φ_i^X: \oplus_{a:j\to i}X(j)\to X(i)$ is injective, and the left $R$-modules $X(i)$ and ${\rm Coker}φ_i^X$ are Gorenstein flat. As an application of this result, we show that there is a hereditary abelian model structure on ${\sf Rep}(Q,R…
Given a complete hereditary cotorsion pair $(\mathcal{A}, \mathcal{B})$ in an abelian category $\mathcal{C}$ satisfying certain conditions, we study the completeness of the induced cotorsion pairs $(Φ(\mathcal{A}), Φ(\mathcal{A})^{\perp})$ and $(^{\perp}Ψ(\mathcal{B}), Ψ(\mathcal{B}) )$ in the category $\mbox{Rep}(Q, \mathcal{C})$ of $\mathcal{C}$-valued representations of a given quiver $Q$. We show that if $Q$ is left rooted, then the cotorsion pair $(Φ(\mathcal{A}), Φ(\mathcal{A})^{\perp})$ is complete, and if $Q$ is right rooted, then the cotorsion pair $(^{\perp}Ψ(\mathcal{B}), Ψ(\mathcal…
We introduce the notion of ''maximal rank type'' for representations of quivers, which requires certain collections of maps involved in the representation to be of maximal rank. We show that real root representations of quivers are of maximal rank type. By using the maximal rank type property and universal extension functors we construct all real root representations of a particular wild quiver with three vertices. From this construction it follows that real root representations of this quiver are tree modules. Moreover, formulae given by Ringel can be applied to compute the dimension of the e…
We define a functor which gives the "global rank of a quiver representation" and prove that it has nice properties which make it a generalization of the rank of a linear map. We demonstrate how to construct other "rank functors" for a quiver Q, which induce ring homomorphisms (called "rank functions") from the representation ring of Q to Z. These rank functions give discrete numerical invariants of quiver representations, useful for computing tensor product multiplicities of representations and determining some structure of the representation ring. We also show that in characteristic 0, rank f…

We prove that all quiver Grassmannians for exceptional representations of a generalized Kronecker quiver admit a cell decomposition. In the process, we introduce a class of regular representations which arise as quotients of consecutive preprojective representations. Cell decompositions for quiver Grassmannians of these "truncated preprojectives" are also established. We also provide two natural combinatorial labelings for these cells. On the one hand, they are labeled by certain subsets of a so-called 2-quiver attached to a (truncated) preprojective representation. On the other hand, the cell…
Fortin and Reutenauer defined the non-commutative rank for a matrix with entries that are linear functions. The non-commutative rank is related to stability in invariant theory, non-commutative arithmetic circuits, and Edmonds' problem. We will generalize the non-commutative rank to the representation theory of quivers and define non-commutative Hom and Ext spaces. We will relate these new notions to King's criterion for $σ$-stability of quiver representations, and the general Hom and Ext spaces studied by Schofield. We discuss polynomial time algorithms that compute the non-commutative Homs a…
Rank functors on a quiver $Q$ are certain additive functors from the category of representations of $Q$ to the category of finite-dimensional vector spaces. Composing with the dimension function on vector spaces gives a rank function on $Q$. These induce functions on $\rep(Q, α)$, the variety of representations of $Q$ of dimension vector $α$, and thus can be used to define "rank loci" in $\rep(Q, α)$ as collections of points satisfying finite lists of linear inequalities of rank functions. Although quiver rank functions are not generally semicontinuous like the rank of a linear map, we show he…
We prove a multiplication theorem of a quantum Caldero-Chapoton map associated to valued quivers which extends the results in \cite{DX}\cite{D}. As an application, when $Q$ is a valued quiver of finite type or rank 2, we obtain that the algebra $\mathcal{AH}_{|k|}(Q)$ generated by all cluster characters (see Definition \ref{def}) is exactly the quantum cluster algebra $\mathcal{EH}_{|k|}(Q)$ and various bases of the quantum cluster algebras of rank 2 can naturally be deduced.
We formalize the way in which one can think about cluster algebras of infinite rank by showing that every rooted cluster algebra of infinite rank can be written as a colimit of rooted cluster algebras of finite rank. Relying on the proof of the posivity conjecture for skew-symmetric cluster algebras (of finite rank) by Lee and Schiffler, it follows as a direct consequence that the positivity conjecture holds for cluster algebras of infinite rank. Furthermore, we give a sufficient and necessary condition for a ring homomorphism between cluster algebras to give rise to a rooted cluster morphism …
We give two generalizations of Kac's Theorem on representations of quivers. One is to representations of equipped graphs by relations, in the sense of Gelfand and Ponomarev. The other is to representations of quivers in which certain of the linear maps are required to have maximal rank.
Given a quiver, a fixed dimension vector, and a positive integer n, we construct a functor from the category of D-modules on the space of representations of the quiver to the category of modules over a corresponding Gan-Ginzburg algebra of rank n. When the quiver is affine Dynkin we obtain an explicit construction of representations of the corresponding wreath-product symplectic reflection algebra of rank n. When the quiver is star-shaped, but not finite Dynkin, we use this functor to obtain a Lie theoretic construction of representations of a "spherical" subalgebra of the Gan-Ginzburg algebra…
In a recent paper by K.-H. Lee and K. Lee, rigid reflections are defined for any Coxeter group via non-self-intersecting curves on a Riemann surface with labeled curves. When the Coxeter group arises from an acyclic quiver, the rigid reflections are related to the rigid representations of the quiver. For a family of rank $3$ Coxeter groups, it was conjectured in the same paper that there is a natural bijection from the set of reduced positive roots of a symmetric rank $2$ Kac--Moody algebra onto the set of rigid reflections of the corresponding rank $3$ Coxeter group. In this paper, we prove t…
We investigate the generalized Kronecker algebra $\mathcal{K}_r = kΓ_r$ with $r \geq 3$ arrows. Given a regular component $\mathcal{C}$ of the Auslander-Reiten quiver of $\mathcal{K}_r$, we show that the quasi-rank $rk(\mathcal{C}) \in \mathbb{Z}_{\leq 1}$ can be described almost exactly as the distance $\mathcal{W}(\mathcal{C}) \in \mathbb{N}_0$ between two non-intersecting cones in $\mathcal{C}$, given by modules with the equal images and the equal kernels property; more precisley, we show that the two numbers are linked by the inequality \[ -\mathcal{W}(\mathcal{C}) \leq rk(\mathcal{C}) \le…
Given any Coxeter group, we define rigid reflections and rigid roots using non-self-intersecting curves on a Riemann surface with labeled curves. When the Coxeter group arises from an acyclic quiver, they are related to the rigid representations of the quiver. For a family of rank 3 Coxeter groups, we show that there is a surjective map from the set of reduced positive roots of a rank 2 Kac--Moody algebra onto the set of rigid reflections. We conjecture that this map is bijective.
We study Laurent expansions of cluster variables in a cluster algebra of rank 2 associated to a generalized Kronecker quiver. In the case of the ordinary Kronecker quiver, we obtain explicit expressions for Laurent expansions of the elements of the canonical basis for the corresponding cluster algebra.
We propose a conjectural correspondence between the set of rigid indecomposable modules over the path algebras of acyclic quivers and the set of certain non-self-intersecting curves on Riemann surfaces, and prove the correspondence for the 2-complete rank 3 quivers.
For $k \ge 1$ we consider the $K$-algebra $H(k) := H(C,kD,Ω)$ associated to a symmetrizable Cartan matrix $C$, a symmetrizer $D$, and an orientation $Ω$ of $C$, which was defined in Part 1. We construct and analyse a reduction functor from rep$(H(k))$ to rep$(H(k-1))$. As a consequence we show that the canonical decomposition of rank vectors for $H(k)$ does not depend on $k$, and that the rigid locally free $H(k)$-modules are up to isomorphism in bijection with the rigid locally free $H(k-1)$-modules. Finally, we show that for a rigid locally free $H(k)$-module of a given rank vector the Euler…
We construct geometric realizations of the r-colored bosonic and fermionic Fock space on the equivariant cohomology of the moduli space of framed rank r torsion-free sheaves on CP^2. Using these constructions, we realize geometrically all level one irreducible representations of the affine Lie algebra \hat{gl(r)}. The cyclic group Z_k acts naturally on the moduli space of sheaves, and the fixed-point components of this action are cyclic Nakajima quiver varieties . We realize level k irreducible representations of \hat{gl(r)} on the equivariant cohomology of these quiver varieties.

Ordinarily, quiver varieties are constructed as moduli spaces of quiver representations in the category of vector spaces. It is also natural to consider quiver representations in a richer category, namely that of vector bundles on some complex variety equipped with a fixed sheaf that twists the morphisms. Representations of A-type quivers in this twisted category --- known in the literature as "holomorphic chains" --- have practical use in questions concerning the topology of the moduli space of Higgs bundles. In that problem, the variety is a Riemann surface of genus at least 2, and the twist…
For the moduli space of Higgs bundles on a Riemann surface of positive genus, critical points of the natural Morse-Bott function lie along the nilpotent cone of the Hitchin fibration and are representations of $\mbox{A}$-type quivers in a twisted category of holomorphic bundles. The critical points that globally minimize the function are representations of $\mbox{A}_1$. For twisted Higgs bundles on the projective line, the quiver describing the bottom of the cone is more complicated. We determine it here. We show that the moduli space is topologically connected whenever the rank and degree are…
This paper focuses on a question raised by Holm and Jørgensen, who asked if the induced cotorsion pairs $(Φ({\sf X}),Φ({\sf X})^{\perp})$ and $(^{\perp}Ψ({\sf Y}),Ψ({\sf Y}))$ in $\mathrm{Rep}(Q,{\sf{A}})$ -- the category of all $\sf{A}$-valued representations of a quiver $Q$ -- are complete whenever $(\sf X,\sf Y)$ is a complete cotorsion pair in an abelian category $\sf{A}$ satisfying some mild conditions. Recently, Odabaşı gave an affirmative answer if the quiver $Q$ is rooted and the cotorsion pair $(\sf X,\sf Y)$ is further hereditary. In this paper, we improve Odabaşı's work by removing …
In this paper we give a direct proof of the positivity conjecture for adapted quantum cluster variables. Moreover, our process allows one to explicitly compute formulas for all adapted cluster monomials and certain ordered products of adapted cluster monomials. In particular, we describe all cluster monomials in cluster algebras and quantum cluster algebras of rank 2. One may obtain similar formulas for all finite type cluster monomials. The above results are achieved by computing explicit set-theoretic decompositions of Grassmannians of subrepresentations in adapted valued quiver representati…
Let $\Bbbk$ be an algebraically closed field, $Q$ a finite quiver, and denote by $\mathop{\mathrm{rep}}_Q^{\mathbf{d}}$ the affine $\Bbbk$-scheme of representations of $Q$ with a fixed dimension vector ${\mathbf{d}}$. Given a representation $M$ of $Q$ with dimension vector ${\mathbf{d}}$, the set ${\mathcal{O}}_M$ of points in $\mathop{\mathrm{rep}}_Q^{\mathbf{d}}(\Bbbk)$ isomorphic as representations to $M$ is an orbit under an action on $\mathop{\mathrm{rep}}_Q^{\mathbf{d}}(\Bbbk)$ of a product of general linear groups. The orbit ${\mathcal{O}}_M$ and its Zariski closure $\overline{\mathcal{…

We construct level one dominant representations of the affine Kac-Moody algebra $\widehat{\mathfrak{gl}}_k$ on the equivariant cohomology groups of moduli spaces of rank one framed sheaves on the orbifold compactification of the minimal resolution $X_k$ of the $A_{k-1}$ toric singularity $\mathbb{C}^2/\mathbb{Z}_k$. We show that the direct sum of the fundamental classes of these moduli spaces is a Whittaker vector for $\widehat{\mathfrak{gl}}_k$, which proves the AGT correspondence for pure $\mathcal{N}=2$ $U(1)$ gauge theory on $X_k$. We consider Carlsson-Okounkov type Ext-bundles over produc…
