It is known from the early work of May in 1964 that ideal Bose gas do not exhibit condensation phenomenon in two dimensions. On the other hand, it is also known that the thermostatistics arising from q-deformed oscillator algebra has no connection with the spatial dimensions of the system. Our recent work concerns the study of important thermodynamic functions such as the entropy, occupation number, internal energy and specific heat in ordinary three spatial dimensions, where we established that such thermostatistics is developed by consistently replacing the ordinary thermodynamic derivatives by the Jackson derivatives. The thermostatistics of q-deformed bosons and fermions in two spatial dimensions is an unresolved question and that is the subject of this investigation. We study the principal thermodynamic functions of both bosons and fermions in the two dimensional q-deformed formalism and we find that, different from the standard case, the specific heat of q-boson and q-fermion ideal gas, at fixed temperature and number of particle, are no longer identical.
We present a formulation of the deformed oscillator algebra which leads to intermediate statistics as a continuous interpolation between the Bose-Einstein and Fermi-Dirac statistics. It is deduced that a generalized permutation or exchange symmetry leads to the introduction of the basic number and it is then established that this in turn leads to the deformed algebra of oscillators. We obtain the mean occupation number describing the particles obeying intermediate statistics which thus establishes the interpolating statistics and describe boson like and fermion like particles obeying intermedi…
The nearest neighbor spacing distribution of levels of deformed even-even nuclei classified according to their quadrupole deformation parameter is investigated. The results suggest that the oblate deformed nuclei have more regular spectra than prolate ones.
More general canonical ensemble which gives rise the generalized statistics or $q$-deformed statistics can represent the realistic scenario than the ideal one, with proper parameter sets involved. We study the Planck's law of blackbody radiation, Wein's and Rayleigh-Jeans radiation formulae from the point of view of $q$-deformed statistics. We find that the blackbody energy spectrum curve for a given temperature $T$ corresponding to different $q$ values differs from each other: the location of the peak(i.e. $ν_m$) of the energy distribution $u_ν$ (corresponding to different $q$ ) shifted towar…
The idea that a system obeying interpolating statistics can be described by a deformed oscillator algebra has been an outstanding issue. This original concept introduced long ago by Greenberg is the motivation for this investigation. We establish that a q-deformed algebra can be used to describe the statistics of particles (anyons) interpolating continuously between Bose and Fermi statistics, i.e., fractional statistics. We show that the generalized intermediate statistics splits into the Boson-like and Fermion-like regimes, each described by a unique oscillator algebra. The B-anyon thermostat…
A principled framework to generalize variational perturbation approximations (VPA's) formulated within the ambit of the nonadditive statistics of Tsallis statistics, is introduced. This is accomplished by operating on the terms constituting the perturbation expansion of the generalized free energy (GFE) with a variational procedure formulated using \emph{q-deformed calculus}. A candidate \textit{q-deformed} generalized VPA (GVPA) is derived with the aid of the Hellmann-Feynman theorem. The generalized Bogoliubov inequality for the approximate GFE are derived for the case of canonical probabili…
The kappa-deformed statistics has been studied in many papers. It is naturally important question for us to ask what should the kappa parameter stand for and under what physical situation should the kappa-deformed statistics be suitable for the statistical description of a system. In this paper, we have derived a formula expression of kappa parameter based on the kappa-H theorem, the kappa-velocity distribution and the generalized Boltzmann equation in the framework of kappa-deformed statistics. We thus obtain a physical interpretation for the kappa parameter different from zero with regard to…
We show that the two complementary parts of the dynamics associated to the Feigenbaum attractor, inside and towards the attractor, form together a q -deformed statistical-mechanical structure. A time-dependent partition function produced by summing distances between neighboring positions of the attractor leads to a q-entropy that measures the fraction of ensemble trajectories still away at a given time from the attractor (and the repellor). The values of the q-indexes are given by the attractor's universal constants, while the thermodynamic framework is closely related to that first developed …
We investigate the physical property of the kappa parameter and the kappa-distribution in the kappa-deformed statistics, based on Kaniadakis entropy, for a relativistic gas in an electromagnetic field. We derive two relations for the relativistic gas in the framework of kappa-deformed statistics, which describe the physical situation represented by the relativistic kappa-distribution function, provide a reasonable connection between the parameter kappa, the temperature four-gradient and the four-vector potential gradient, and thus present for the case kappa different from zero a clearly physic…

A generalized-statistics variational principle for source separation is formulated by recourse to Tsallis' entropy subjected to the additive duality and employing constraints described by normal averages. The variational principle is amalgamated with Hopfield-like learning rules resulting in an unsupervised learning model. The update rules are formulated with the aid of q-deformed calculus. Numerical examples exemplify the efficacy of this model.
An outstanding idea originally introduced by Greenberg is to investigate whether there is equivalence between intermediate statistics, which may be different from anyonic statistics, and q-deformed particle algebra. Also, a model to be studied for addressing such an idea could possibly provide us some new consequences about the interactions of particles as well as their internal structures. Motivated mainly by this idea, in this work, we consider a q-deformed Fermi gas model whose statistical properties enable effectively us to study interpolating statistics. Starting with a generalized Fermi-…
We study, using information quantifiers, the dynamics generated by a special Hamiltonian that gives a detailed account of the interaction between a classical and a quantum system. The associated, very rich dynamics displays periodicity, quasi-periodicity, not-boundedness, and chaotic regimes. Chaoticity, together with complex behavior, emerge in the proximity of an unstable entirely quantum instance. Our goal is to compare the statistical description provided by Tsallis quantifiers vis a vis that obtained with Shannon's entropy and Jensen's complexity.
We derive the Gross Pitaevskii equation (GPE) for condensate of bosons obeying deformed statistics under external potential and inter-particle interaction. First, we obtain the well-known Schrodinger equation. Using a suitable Hamiltonian for condensate phase and minimizing the free energy of the system, we find out the $q$- deformed GPE. Thus, at very low temperature, where the dynamics of excited-occupation level can be neglected, the dynamics of a deformed statistics system can be described by the GPE, similar to the Bose-Einstein condensate.
In recent decades, there have been increasing interests in quantum statistics beyond the standard Fermi-Dirac and Bose-Einstein statistics, such as the fractional statistics, quon statistics, anyon statistics and quantum groups, since they can provide some new insights into the cosmology, nuclear physics and condensed matter. In this paper, we study the many-particle system formed by the $q$-deformed fermions ($q$-fermion), which is realized by deforming the quantum algebra of the anticommutation relations. We investigate from a standard perspective of the finite temperature field theory and t…
We construct the thermodynamic geometry of an ideal q-deformed boson and fermion gas. We investigate some thermodynamic properties such as the stability and statistical interaction. It will be shown that the statistical interaction of q-deformed boson gas is attractive, while it is repulsive for the q-deformed fermion one. Also, we will consider the singular point of the thermodynamic curvature to obtain some new results about the condensation of q-deformed bosons and show that there exist a finite critical phase transition temperature even in low dimensions. It is shown that the thermodynamic…
During the last three decades, non-standard statistics for indistinguishable quantum particles has attracted broad attentions and research interests from many institutions. Among these new types of statistics, the q-deformed Bose and Fermi statistics, originated from the study of quantum algebra, are being applied in more and more physical systems. In this paper, we construct a q-deformed generalization of the BCS-Leggett theory for ultracold Fermi gases based on our previously constructed q-deformed BCS theory. Some interesting features of this q-deformed interacting quantum gas are obtained …
In this paper we extend our recent results [Physica A340 (2004)110] on q-nonextensive statistics with non-Tsallis entropies. In particular, we combine an axiomatics of Renyi with the q-deformed version of Khinchin axioms to obtain the entropy which accounts both for systems with embedded self-similarity and q-nonextensivity. We find that this entropy can be uniquely solved in terms of a one-parameter family of information measures. The corresponding entropy maximizer is expressible via a special function known under the name of the Lambert W-function. We analyze the corresponding "high" and "l…
The theoretical basis for a candidate variational principle for the information bottleneck (IB) method is formulated within the ambit of the generalized nonadditive statistics of Tsallis. Given a nonadditivity parameter $ q $, the role of the \textit{additive duality} of nonadditive statistics ($ q^*=2-q $) in relating Tsallis entropies for ranges of the nonadditivity parameter $ q < 1 $ and $ q > 1 $ is described. Defining $ X $, $ \tilde X $, and $ Y $ to be the source alphabet, the compressed reproduction alphabet, and, the \textit{relevance variable} respectively, it is demonstrated that m…
It was found in [Europhysics Letters {\bf 104}, (2013), 60003] that classical Tsallis theory exhibits poles in the partition function ${\cal Z}$ and the mean energy $<{\cal U}>$. These occur at a countably set of the q-line. We give here, via a simple procedure, a mathematical account of them. Further, by focusing attention upon the pole-physics, we encounter interesting effects. In particular, for the specific heat, we uncover hidden gravitational effects.
The generalized Kullback-Leibler divergence (K-Ld) in Tsallis statistics [constrained by the additive duality of generalized statistics (dual generalized K-Ld)] is here reconciled with the theory of Bregman divergences for expectations defined by normal averages, within a measure-theoretic framework. Specifically, it is demonstrated that the dual generalized K-Ld is a scaled Bregman divergence. The Pythagorean theorem is derived from the minimum discrimination information-principle using the dual generalized K-Ld as the measure of uncertainty, with constraints defined by normal averages. The m…
We study spectral behavior of sparsely connected random networks under the random matrix framework. Sub-networks without any connection among them form a network having perfect community structure. As connections among the sub-networks are introduced, the spacing distribution shows a transition from the Poisson statistics to the Gaussian orthogonal ensemble statistics of random matrix theory. The eigenvalue density distribution shows a transition to the Wigner's semicircular behavior for a completely deformed network. The range for which spectral rigidity, measured by the Dyson-Mehta $Δ_3$ sta…
By means of a finite elements technique we solve numerically the dynamics of an amorphous solid under deformation in the quasistatic driving limit. We study the noise statistics of the stress-strain signal in the steady state plastic flow, focusing on systems with low internal dissipation. We analyze the distributions of avalanche sizes and durations and the density of shear transformations when varying the damping strength. In contrast to avalanches in the overdamped case, dominated by the yielding point universal exponents, inertial avalanches are controlled by a non-universal damping depend…
Over the last two decades, it has been argued that the Lorentz transformation mechanism, which imposes the generalization of Newton's classical mechanics into Einstein's special relativity, implies a generalization, or deformation, of the ordinary statistical mechanics. The exponential function, which defines the Boltzmann's factor, emerges properly deformed within this formalism. Starting from this, so-called $κ$-deformed exponential function, we introduce new classes of statistical distributions emerging as the $κ$-deformed version of already known distribution as the Generalized Gamma, Weib…
Composite bosons (or quasibosons), as recently proven, are realizable by deformed oscillators and due to that can be effectively treated as particles of nonstandard statistics (deformed bosons). This enables us to study quasiboson states and their inter-component entanglement aspects using the well developed formalism of deformed oscillators. We prove that the internal entanglement characteristics for single two-component quasiboson are determined completely by the parameter(s) of deformation. The bipartite entanglement characteristics are generalized and calculated for arbitrary multi-quasibo…
We demonstrate that the dynamics towards and within the Feigenbaum attractor combine to form a q-deformed statistical-mechanical construction. The rate at which ensemble trajectories converge to the attractor (and to the repellor) is described by a q-entropy obtained from a partition function generated by summing distances between neighboring positions of the attractor. The values of the q-indices involved are given by the unimodal map universal constants, while the thermodynamic structure is closely related to that formerly developed for multifractals. As an essential component in our demonst…
Based on Tsallis entropy and the corresponding deformed exponential function, generalized distribution functions for bosons and fermions have been used since a while. However, aiming at a non-extensive quantum statistics further requirements arise from the symmetric handling of particles and holes (excitations above and below the Fermi level). Naive replacements of the exponential function or cut and paste solutions fail to satisfy this symmetry and to be smooth at the Fermi level at the same time. We solve this problem by a general ansatz dividing the deformed exponential to odd and even term…
We present a deformed algebra related to the q-exponential and the q-logarithm functions that emerge from nonextensive statistical mechanics. We also develop a q-derivative (and consistently a q-integral) for which the q-exponential is an eigenfunction. The q-derivative and the q-integral have a dual nature, that is also presented.
We present a possible extension of the random-matrix theory, which is widely used to describe spectral fluctuations of chaotic systems. By considering the Kaniadakis non-Gaussian statistics, characterized by the index κ (Boltzmann-Gibbs entropy is recovered in the limit κ\rightarrow0), we propose the non-Gaussian deformations (κ \neq 0) of the conventional orthogonal and unitary ensembles of random matrices. The joint eigenvalue distributions for the κ-deformed ensembles are derived by applying the principle maximum entropy to Kaniadakis entropy. The resulting distribution functions are base i…
Based on the q-deformed oscillator algebra, we study the behavior of the mean occupation number and its analogies with intermediate statistics and we obtain an expression in terms of an infinite continued fraction, thus clarifying successive approximations. In this framework, we study the thermostatistics of q-deformed bosons and fermions and show that thermodynamics can be built on the formalism of q-calculus. The entire structure of thermodynamics is preserved if ordinary derivatives are replaced by the use of an appropriate Jackson derivative and q-integral. Moreover, we derive the most imp…
Starting from the basic-exponential, a q-deformed version of the exponential function established in the framework of the basic-hypergeometric series, we present a possible formulation of a generalized statistical mechanics. In a q-nonuniform lattice we introduce the basic-entropy related to the basic-exponential by means of a q-variational principle. Remarkably, this distribution exhibits a natural cut-off in the energy spectrum. This fact, already encountered in other formulations of generalized statistical mechanics, is expected to be relevant to the applications of the theory to those syst…
The $q$-deformed statistics for fermions arising within the non-extensive thermostatistical formalism has been applied to the study of various quantum many-body systems recently. The aim of the present note is to point out some subtle difficulties presented by this approach in connection with the problem of thermodynamic consistency. Different possible ways to apply the $q$-deformed quantum distributions in a thermodynamically consistent way are considered.
We study the thermostatistics of q-deformed bosons and fermions obeying the symmetric algebra and show that it can be built on the formalism of q-calculus. The entire structure of thermodynamics is preserved if ordinary derivatives are replaced by an appropriate Jackson derivative. In this framework, we derive the most important thermodynamic functions describing the q-boson and q-fermion ideal gases in the thermodynamic limit. We also investigate the semi-classical limit and the low temperature regime and demonstrate that the nature of the q-deformation gives rise to pure quantum statistical …
Rare event statistics for random walks on complex networks are investigated using the large deviations formalism. Within this formalism, rare events are realized as typical events in a suitably deformed path-ensemble, and their statistics can be studied in terms of spectral properties of a deformed Markov transition matrix. We observe two different types of phase transition in such systems: (i) rare events which are singled out for sufficiently large values of the deformation parameter may correspond to {\em localized\/} modes of the deformed transition matrix, (ii) "mode-switching transitions…
Integrable Kondo impurities in two cases of the one-dimensional q-deformed $t-J$ models are studied by means of the boundary ${\bf Z}_2$-graded quantum inverse scattering method. The boundary $K$ matrices depending on the local magnetic moments of the impurities are presented as nontrivial realizations of the reflection equation algebras in an impurity Hilbert space. Furthermore, these models are solved by using the algebraic Bethe ansatz method and the Bethe ansatz equations are obtained.
We address the issue of generalizing the thermodynamic quantities via $q$-deformation, i.e., via the $q$-algebra that describes $q$-bosons and $q$-fermions. In this study with the application of $q$-deformation to the Landau diamagnetism problem in two dimensions, embedded in a $D$-dimensional space, we will attempt to get a better understanding of the $q$-deformation. We obtain new results for q-deformed internal energy, number of particles, magnetization and magnetic susceptibility, which recover the values already known in the literature in the limit $q\to1$.
