We establish long time soliton asymptotics for the nonlinear system of Maxwell equations coupled to a charged particle. The coupled system has a six dimensional manifold of soliton solutions. We show that in the long time approximation, any solution, with an initial state close to the solitary manifold, is a sum of a soliton and a dispersive wave which is a solution of the free Maxwell equations. It is assumed that the charge density satisfies the Wiener condition. The proof further develops the general strategy based on the symplectic projection in Hilbert space onto the solitary manifold, modulation equations for the parameters of the projection, and decay of the transversal component.
Effective dynamics for solitons in the nonlinear Klein Gordon Maxwell system and the Lorentz force law
We present a simple model of interaction of the Maxwell equations with a matter field defined by the Klein-Gordon equation. A simple linear interaction and a nonlinear perurbation produce solutions of the equations containing hylomorphic solitons, namely stable, solitary waves whose existence is related to the ratio energy/charge. These solitons, at low energy, behave as poinwise charged particles in an electromagnetic field.
The inner Cauchy horizon of axisymmetric and stationary black holes with surrounding matter in Einstein-Maxwell theory: study in terms of soliton methods
We investigate the soliton dynamics of the electromagnetic wave propagating in an inhomogeneous or deformed ferromagnet. The dynamics of magnetization and the propagation of electromagnetic waves are governed by the Landau-Lifshitz-Maxwell (LLM) equation, a certain coupling between the Landau-Lifshitz and Maxwell's equations. In the framework of multiscale analysis, we obtain the perturbed integral modified KdV (PIMKdV) equation. Since the dynamic is governed by the nonlinear integro-differential equation, we rely on numerical simulations to study the interaction of its mKdV solitons with vari…
Under investigation in this work is the coupled Hirota system arising in nonlinear fiber. The spectral analysis of the Lax pair is first carried out and a Riemann-Hilbert problem is described. Then in the framework of the obtained Riemann-Hilbert problem with the reflectionless case, N-soliton solution is presented for the coupled Hirota system. Finally, via proper choices of the involved parameters, a few plots are made to exhibit the localized structures and dynamic characteristics of one-soliton solution.
In this paper, we study the coupled Higgs equation and its multi-component generalization based on the Hirota's direct method. One and two-soliton solutions of the coupled Higgs equation are derived by the perturbation approach. We express the N-soliton solutions in the form of Pfaffians and demonstrate that the N-component coupled Higgs equation turns out to be the Pfaffian identity. One and two-soliton solutions of the multi-component coupled Higgs equation are obtained from the Pfaffians. Starting from the explicit solutions, parallel solitons, periodic and nearly periodic interactions, ela…
We derive and study the hyperbolic reduced Maxwell-Bloch equations (HRMB), a simplified model for the dynamics of strongly correlated Bose-Einstein condensates (BECs), and in particular for the interaction between the BEC atoms and its evaporated atoms under the strong interactions. This equation is one among four which are proven to be integrable via the existence of a Lax pair, and thus the method of inverse scattering transform. Another equation is the reduced Maxwell-Bloch equation of quantum optics and the two others do not have physical applications yet. By studying the linear stability …
In this paper, based on the nonlinear fractional equations proposed by Ablowitz, Been, and Carr in the sense of Riesz fractional derivative, we explore the fractional coupled Hirota equation and give its explicit form. Unlike the previous nonlinear fractional equations, this type of nonlinear fractional equation is integrable. Therefore, we obtain the fractional $n$-soliton solutions of the fractional coupled Hirota equation by inverse scattering transformation in the reflectionless case. In particular, we analyze the one- and two-soliton solutions of the fractional coupled Hirota equation and…
This paper focuses on investigation of the N-coupled Hirota equations arising in an optical fiber. Starting from analyzing the spectral problem, a kind of matrix Riemann-Hilbert problem is formulated strictly on the real axis. Then based on the resulting matrix Riemann-Hilbert problem under the constraint of no reflection, multi-soliton solutions to the N-coupled Hirota equations are presented explicitly.
Exact analytical soliton solutions play an important role in soliton fields. Soliton solutions were obtained with some special constraints on the nonlinear parameters in nonlinear coupled systems, but they usually do not holds in real physical systems. We successfully release all usual constrain conditions on nonlinear parameters for exact analytical vector soliton solutions in $N$-component coupled nonlinear Schrödinger equations. The exact soliton solutions and their existence condition are given explicitly. Applications of these results are discussed in several present experimental paramete…
In this paper, we firstly establish the multi-Hamiltonian structure and infinite many conservation laws for the vector Kaup-Newell hierarchy of the positive and negative orders. The first nontrivial negative flow corresponds to a coupled Fokas-Lenells equation. By constructing a generalized Darboux transformation and using a limiting process, all kinds of one-soliton solutions are constructed including the bright-dark soliton, the dark-anti-dark soliton and the breather-like solutions. Furthermore, multi-bright and multi-dark soliton solutions are derived and their asymptotic behaviors are inv…
The Darboux transformation (DT) for the coupled complex short pulse (CCSP) equation is constructed through the loop group method. The DT is then utilized to construct various exact solutions including bright soliton, dark-soliton, breather and rogue wave solutions to the CCSP equation. In case of vanishing boundary condition (VBC), we perform the inverse scattering analysis to understand the soliton solution better. Breather and rogue wave solutions are constructed in case of non-vanishing boundary condition (NVBC). Moreover, we conduct a modulational instability (MI) analysis based on the met…
