In this paper, I prove a splitting theorem for equifocal submanifolds with non-flat section in a simply connected symmetric space of compact type. Also, by using the splitting theorem, I prove that the sections of equifocal submanifolds with non-flat section in an irreducible simply connected symmetric space of compact type are isometric to a sphere or a real projective space.

In this paper, we show that there exists no equifocal submanifold with non-flat section in four irreducible simply connected symmetric spaces of compact type and rank two. Also, we show a fact for the sections of equifocal submanifolds with non-flat section in other irreducible simply connected symmetric spaces of compact type and rank two.

Homogeneity of proper complex equifocal submanifolds

In this paper, we show that an irreducible proper complex equifocal submanifold of codimension greater than one in a symmetric space of non-compact type. The proof is performed by showing the homogeneity of the lift of the complexification of the original submanifold to some infinite dimensional anti-Kahelerian space.

On equifocal Finsler submanifolds and analytic maps

A relevant property of equifocal submanifolds is that their parallel sets are still immersed submanifolds, which makes them a natural generalization of the so-called isoparametric submanifolds. In this paper, we prove that the regular fibers of an analytic map $π:M^{m+k}\to B^{k}$ are equifocal whenever $M^{m+k}$ is endowed with a complete Finsler metric and there is a restriction of $π$ which is a Finsler submersion for a certain Finsler metric on the image. In addition, we prove that when the fibers provide a singular foliation on $M^{m+k}$, then this foliation is Finsler.

On curvature-adapted and proper complex equifocal submaniflds

In this paper, we investigate a curvature-adapted and proper complex equifocal submanifold in a symmetric space of non-compact type. The class of these submanifolds contains principal orbits of Hermann type actions as homogeneous examples. In future, the results in this paper will be used to give a submanifold geometrical characterization of principal orbits of Hermann type actions.

Equifocal families in symmetric spaces of compact type

An equifocal submanifold M of a symmetric space N of compact type induces a foliation with singular leaves on N. In this paper we will show how to reconstruct the equifocal foliation starting from one of the singular leaves, the so-called focal manifolds. To be more concrete: The equifocal submanifold is equal to a partial tube B around the focal manifold and we will show how to construct B in this paper. Moreover, we will find a geometrical characterization of focal manifolds.

Equifocal submanifolds with non-flat section and topological Tits buildings

From the Lytchak's result for polar foliations on an irreducible simply connected symmetric space $G/K$ of compact type and rank greater than one, we can derive that there exists no equifocal submanifold with non-flat section whose codimension is greater than two in the symmetric space $G/K$.
