Conference Summary at FPCP04
The NOW2000 Workshop summarized the present status and future possibilities for all aspects of neutrino physics and astrophysics. Neutrino oscillation physics has truly come of age in the last few years. It is now data driven (analogous to cosmology and much of high energy physics in general). Experimental techniques and the theoretical interpretation have developed dramatically. An example of the latter includes the more realistic analysis of neutrino oscillations in the framework of 3 or more mass eigenstates. The phenomenological emphasis has shifted from degenerate to hierarchical neutrino…
We summarise the Topical Workshop on Top Quark Differential Distributions 2014, which took place in Cannes immediately before the annual Top2014 conference. The workshop was motivated by the availability of top quark differential distributions at NNLO and the forthcoming LHC 13 TeV data. The main goal of the workshop was to explore the impact of improved calculations of top quark production on precision LHC measurements, PDF determinations and searches for physics beyond the Standard Model, as well as finding ways in which the high precision data from ATLAS, CMS and LHCb can be used to further…

A concise overview of the interesting recent developments in kaon phyiscs discussed at KAON 2007 is presented.
Recent developments on tau detection technologies and the construction of high intensity neutrino beams open the possibility of a high precision search for non-standard μ - τ flavour transition with neutrinos at short distances. The MINSIS - Main Injector Non-Standard Interaction Search- is a proposal under discussion to realize such precision measurement. This document contains the proceedings of the workshop which took place on 10-11 December 2009 in Madrid to discuss both the physics reach as well as the experimental requirements for this proposal.
We summarize the activities in working group 10 concerned with QCD cascades, and find that although much work still needs to be done, much progress was made during this workshop in understanding the merits and deficiencies of different programs.

During the five days of this workshop we had forty five hours of lectures, so a tremendous amount of new information was delivered. I will be able only to highlight some aspects of the numerous interesting topics, which were discussed, leaving out many of them.
In these proceedings, we highlight recent developments from both theory and experiment related to the global description of matter produced in ultra-relativistic heavy-ion collisions as presented during the Quark Matter 2012 conference.
One of the options for an accelerator beyond the LHC is a hadron collider with higher energy. Work is going on to explore accelerator technologies that would make such a machine feasible. This workshop concentrated on the physics and detector issues associated with a hadron collider with an energy in the center of mass of the order of 100 to 200 TeV.
I discuss some key issues covered at the Conference including physics goals, current results on CKM angles, rare decays, status of $|V_{cb}|$ and $|V_{ub}|$, CKM fits and progress on hardware.

Recent theoretical developments and results are summarized focusing on works that point out new perspectives, ranging from perturbative QCD, DGLAP and ERBL evolution, polarized and unpolarized parton distribution functions, small-x physics to nonperturbative QCD, lattice simulations, quark-gluon matter, hadron spectroscopy, and predictions for the LHC.
A summary is given of the 5th International Conference on Hyperons, Charm and Beauty Hadrons held in Vancouver, Canada, June 25th to 29th, 2002. This series of conferences began in 1995 in Strasbourg, France, in large part through the efforts of A. Fridman, to whose memory this talk is dedicated. Topics reviewed include kaon and hyperon physics, charm and beauty production and decays, heavy baryons, the physics of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix and CP violation, and precision electroweak analyses. An attempt is made to combine a review of the high points of the conference with a more gen…

This talk reviews progress reported at Quark-Matter 2001 on various theoretical aspects of the quark-gluon plasma and discusses how the new results obtained at RHIC change the standard picture of ultrarelativistic nucleus-nucleus collisions.
The Constituent Quark Model has provided a remarkable description of the experimentally observed hadron spectrum but still has no firm theoretical basis. Attempts to provide a QCD justification discussed at Hadron99 include QCD Sum Rules, instantons, relativistic potential models and the lattice. Phenomenological analyses to clarify outstanding problems like the nature of the scalar and pseudoscalar mesons and the low branching ratio for $ψ' \to ρ-π$ were presented. New experimental puzzles include the observation of $\bar p p \to ϕπ$.
A third workshop on small-x physics, within the Small-x Collaboration, was held in Hamburg in May 2004 with the aim of overviewing recent theoretical progress in this area and summarizing the experimental status.
This is an attempt to summarize the theoretical talks given at the First International Conference "Hard Probes '04", dedicated to the study of the properties of quark-gluon matter and its diagnostics with the hard processes. This contribution reviews some of the theoretical issues and predictions that were discussed at HADRON2001. The topics are divided into principle areas, 1) exotics, 2) vectors, 3) scalars, and 4) higher-mass states. The current status of theoretical predictions for each area are summarized, together with a brief description of experiment. New and detailed experimental results are presented in the companion Experimental Summary by Klempt.
This short contribution is a {\it lite} MESON2000 conference summary. As appropriate for the 600th anniversary of the Jagellonian University, it begins with a brief summary of the last 600 years of European history and its place in hadron physics. Next a ``physicist chirality'' order parameter PC is introduced. When applied to MESON2000 plenary speakers this order parameter illustrates the separation of hadron physicists into disjoint communities. The individual plenary talks in MESON2000 are next sorted according to the subconference associated with each of the 36 plenary speakers. Finally, I…
This paper presents a summary of the theoretical presentations to the international workshop "Diffraction 2006". The range of topics covered during the workshop was quite broad and this summary is therefore somewhat selective covering recent developments in BFKL physics, exclusive processes, saturation dynamics, DIS and structure functions and coherence in QCD.
The NuSTEC workshop (https://indico.cern.ch/event/727283) held at L'Aquila in October 2018 was devoted to neutrino-nucleus scattering in the kinematic region where hadronic systems with invariant masses above the $Δ(1232)$ resonance are produced: the so-called shallow- and deep-inelastic scattering regime. Not only is the physics in this kinematic region quite intriguing, it is also important for current and future oscillation experiments with accelerator and atmospheric neutrinos. For the benefit of the community, links to the presentations are accompanied by annotations from the speakers.
We summarize the work done in the ``Beyond the Standard Model'' group of the 1995-96 HERA Workshop. Of the various proposed HERA upgrades, the luminosity improvement is the most important for this physics. With an integrated luminosity of 1 $fb^{-1}$, collected by 2005, HERA will remain a competitive and potentially fruitful facility for new physics searches. The full proceedings of the group with the individual reports can be found at: http://ucosun.desy.de/~heraws96/proceedings/beyondSM/ The topics covered include: 1. Higgs Physics 2. Contact Interactions and Compositeness 3. Lepton Flavor V…
The status of the electroweak precision data as of winter 2003 and the corresponding theoretical calculations are presented. The possible problems within the data and the calculations are discussed in a critical way. If the NuTeV anomaly cannot be explained by unknown effects like higher order parton distribution functions and if it is not just a statistical fluctuation the Standard Model of electroweak interactions is in deep problems. Otherwise the conclusions that the Higgs Boson is relatively light seems quite robust within the Standard Model.
The results obtained by the Working Group on Supersymmetry at the 1999 Les Houches Workshop on Collider Physics are summarized. Separate chapters treat "general" supersymmetry, R-parity violation, gauge mediated supersymmetry breaking, and anomaly mediated supersymmetry breaking.
The parallel sessions of the working group 3 were devoted to the discussions of short-baseline neutrino physics program at neutrino factories. First, possible studies of parton distribution functions (PDFs), in particular nuclear and polarized PDFs, are discussed in this summary. Second, the extractions of alpha_s from sum rules and structure functions of deep-inelastic neutrino-nucleon scattering, higher-order perturbative QCD corrections and estimates of high-twist effects are summarized. Third, the situation of the observed NuTeV sin^2 theta_W anomaly is discussed.
This report summarizes the most important results presented at the recent conference held at the Yukawa Institute of Theoretical Physics in Kyoto, devoted to the recently confirmed light sigma resonance. Remarkably, all speakers at this meeting took the light sigma for granted and many mass and width estimations near 500 MeV were presented. We emphasize that if the light and broad sigma is accepted as a true resonance it explains many basic problems of low energy hadronic physics in a simple way, especially if the linear sigma model is used as an approximate effective low energy theory.
The workshop on Parton Distributions and Lattice Calculations in the LHC era (PDFLattice2017) was hosted at Balliol College, Oxford (UK), from 22$^{\rm nd}$ to 24$^{\rm th}$ March 2017. The workshop brought together the lattice-QCD and the global-fit physicists who devote their efforts to determine the parton distribution functions (PDFs) of the proton. The goals were to make the two communities more familiar between each other, review developments from both sides, and set precision targets for lattice calculations so that they can contribute, together with the forthcoming experimental input, …
This paper summarizes new experimental results in low energy neutrino cross sections as presented in the neutrino scattering working group at the NuFact05 workshop. Several questions and directives for future NuFact workshops are also outlined.
The NuSTEC workshop held at the University of Pittsburgh in October 2019 brought theorists and experimentalists together to discuss the state of modeling and measurements related to pion production in neutrino-nucleus scattering in the kinematic region where pions are produced through both resonant and non-resonant mechanisms. Modeling of this region is of critical importance to the current and future accelerator- and atmospheric-based neutrino oscillation experiments. For the benefit of the community, links to the presentations are accompanied by annotations from the speakers highlighting sig…
An attempt is made to summarize the discussion at the Workshop, except for the panel discussion on the ability of the LHC detectors to accommodate forward reactions. The Workshop focused on two main topics. The first topic was forward physics at the LHC. Predictions were made for forward reactions, including elastic scattering and soft diffractive processes, intopic was forward physics at the LHC. Predictions were made for forward reactions, including elastic scattering and soft diffractive processes, in terms of (multi) Pomeron exchange, using knowledge gained at lower energies. The survival …
