Recent rate measurements of B_s mesons and Lambda_b baryons produced in sqrt{s} = 1.96 TeV proton-antiproton and Upsilon(5S) electron-positron collisions are reviewed, including the first observations of six new decay modes: B_s -> D_s^+ K^- (CDF), B_s -> D_s^- D_s^+ (CDF), B_s -> D_{s1}^-(2536) mu^+ nu_mu X (DZero), B_s -> phi gamma (Belle), Lambda_b -> p pi^- (CDF), and Lambda_b -> p K^- (CDF). Also examined are branching-fraction measurements or limits for the B_s -> D_s^{(*)} D_s^{(*)} modes (Belle, CDF, and DZero), the B_s -> gamma gamma radiative penguin decay (Belle), and three two-body charmless B_s meson decay channels (CDF). Implications for the phenomenology of electroweak and QCD physics, as well as searches for physics beyond the Standard Model, are identified where applicable.
We report branching fractions and charge asymmetries for exclusive decays of charged and neutral B mesons to two-body final states containing a charmonium meson, J/psi or psi(2S). This result is based on a 29.4 fb^{-1} data sample collected at the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric e+e- collider.
A largely model-independent measurement of the inclusive electron momentum spectrum and branching fraction for semileptonic decays of B mesons is presented based on data recorded at the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the BABAR detector. Backgrounds from secondary charm decays are separated from prompt B decays using charge and angular correlations between the electron from one B meson and a high momentum electron tag from the second B meson. The resulting branching fraction is BR(B -> X e nu) = (10.87 +-0.18(stat)+-0.30(syst))%. Based on this measurement we determine the CKM matrix element |V_cb|.
The branching fractions of D_s meson decays serve to normalize many measurements of processes involving charm quarks. Using 298 /pb of e+ e- collisions recorded at a center of mass energy of 4.17 GeV, we determine absolute branching fractions for eight D_s decays with a double tag technique. In particular we determine the branching fraction B(D_s -> K- K+ pi+) = (5.50 +- 0.23 +- 0.16)%, where the uncertainties are statistical and systematic respectively. We also provide partial branching fractions for kinematic subsets of the K- K+ pi+ decay mode.
We present measurements of the branching fractions for B0 meson decays to eta'K0 and omegaK0, and of the branching fractions and CP-violation charge asymmetries for B+ meson decays to etapi+, etaK+, eta'pi+, eta'K+, omegapi+, and omegaK+. The data, collected with the BABAR detector at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center, represent 383 million BBbar pairs produced in e+e- annihilation. The measurements agree with previous results; we find no evidence for direct CP violation.
The inclusive production rate of phi mesons from the decay of b hadrons produced in Z0 decays was measured to be Br(b->phi+X) = 0.0282+-0.0013(stat.)+-0.0019(syst.), using data collected by the OPAL detector at LEP.
We report preliminary measurements of absolute hadronic branching fractions of Ds mesons determined using a double tag technique. These measurements are from 195 pb^{-1} of e+e- collisions recorded at center of mass energies near 4.17 GeV with the CLEO-c detector at CESR. We obtain absolute branching fractions for Ds+ decays to KS0 K+, K- K+ pi+, K- K+ pi+ pi-, pi+ pi+ pi-, pi+ eta, and pi+ etaprime. We discuss the problems inherent in measuring accurately the branching fraction for Ds+ to phi pi+, which is often used as a reference mode for measurement of other Ds+ branching fractions, and pr…
The Ds+- -> K+-K-+pi+- absolute branching fraction is measured using e+e- -> Ds*+- Ds1-+(2536) events collected by the Belle detector at the KEKB e+e- asymmetric energy collider. Using the ratio of yields when either the Ds1 or Ds* is fully reconstructed, we find Br(Ds+- -> K+-K-+pi+-)= (4.0+-0.4(stat)+-0.4(sys))%.
We report a measurement of the ratios of the decay rates of the B^+, B^0 and B^0_s mesons into exclusive final states containing a J/psi meson. The final states were selected from 19.6 pb^{-1} of p-pbar collisions recorded by the Collider Detector at Fermilab. These data are interpreted to determine the bquark fragmentation fractions f_u, f_d and f_s. We also determine the branching fractions for the decay modes B^+ --> J/psi K^+, B^+ --> J/psi K^*(892)^+, B^0 --> J/psi K^0, B^0 --> J/psi K^*(892)^0 and B_s^0 --> J/psi phi(1020). We discuss the implications of these measurements to B meson dec…
We report a measurement of the inclusive charmless semileptonic branching fraction of B mesons in a sample of 89 million BBbar events recorded with the BABAR detector at the Y(4S) resonance. Events are selected by fully reconstructing the decay of one B meson and identifying a charged lepton from the decay of the other B meson. The number of signal events is extracted from the hadronic mass distribution and is used to determine the ratio of branching fractions BR(B->Xulnu)/BR(B->Xlnu) = (2.06 +/-0.25(stat) +/-0.23(syst) +/-0.36(theo)) x 10^{-2}. Using the measured branching fraction for inclus…
We present measurements of branching fractions and charge asymmetries for the decays etaK*, where K* indicates a spin 0, 1, or 2 Kpi system. The data sample corresponds to 344x10^6 BBbar pairs collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy e+e- collider at SLAC. We measure the branching fractions (in units of 10^-6): BR(B0->etaK*0)=16.5\pm1.1\pm0.8, BR(B+->etaK*+)=18.9\pm1.8\pm1.3, BR(B0->eta(Kpi)_0*0)=11.0\pm1.6\pm1.5, BR(B+->eta(Kpi)_0*+)=18.2\pm2.6\pm 2.6, BR(B0->etaK_2*0(1430))=9.6\pm1.8\pm1.1, and BR(B+->etaK_2*+(1430))=9.1\pm2.7\pm 1.4. We also determine the charge asy…
Measurements of production cross-sections of inclusive $b$-hadrons pairs, bottom mesons and baryons, and quarkonia at LHC will be shown. Recent measurements of branching fractions of bottom baryons, bottom mesons with baryons in the final state, and a new result about a search for intermediate states in meson decay will also be shown.
Using e+e- collisions recorded at the psi(3770) resonance with the CLEO-c detector at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring, we determine absolute hadronic branching fractions of charged and neutral D mesons. Among measurements for both Cabibbo-favored and Cabibbo-suppressed modes, we obtain reference branching fractions B(D0 -> K-pi+)=(3.91 +- 0.08 +- 0.09)% and B(D+ -> K-pi+pi+)=(9.5 +- 0.2 +- 0.3)%, where the uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. Using a determination of the integrated luminosity, we also extract the e+e- -> DDbar cross sections.
We report measurements of branching fractions for the decays B --> P l nu, where P are the pseudoscalar charmless mesons pi-, pi0, eta and eta', based on 348 fb-1 of data collected with the BABAR detector, using B0 and B+ mesons found in the recoil of a second B meson decaying as B --> D(*) l nu. Assuming isospin symmetry, we combine pionic branching fractions to obtain B(B0 --> pi- l+ nu) = (1.54 +/- 0.17(stat) +/- 0.09(syst)) x 10-4; we find 3.2 sigma evidence of the decay B+ --> eta l+ nu and measure its branching fraction to be (0.64 +/- 0.20 (stat) +/- 0.03 (syst)) x 10-4, and determine B…
The measurements of B_s mesons and b baryons advanced greatly in the past year. The ground state b baryon Xi_b^0 was observed for the first time; numerous decay modes of the B_s^0 and b baryons were newly seen; measurements of CP violation in B_s^0 decays were improved, generally improving the agreement with the standard model; and the search for rare decays sensitive to new physics were pushed to new levels. It was a very productive year for measurements of b baryons and B_s^0 mesons.
The inclusive production of the omega(782) vector meson in hadronic Z decays is measured and compared to model predictions. The analysis is based on 4 million hadronic Z decays recorded by the ALEPH detector between 1991 and 1995. The production rate for x_p = p_meson/p_beam > 0.05 is measured in the omega -> pi^+ pi^- pi^0 decay mode and found to be 0.585 +- 0.019_stat +- 0.033_sys per event. Inclusive eta meson production is also measured in the same decay channel for x_p > 0.10, obtaining 0.355 +- 0.011_stat +- 0.024_sys per event. The branching ratio for omega -> mu^+ mu^- is investigated.…
We report preliminary results on the measurement of branching fractions of exclusive decays of neutral and charged B mesons into two-body final states containing a charmonium state and a light strange meson. The charmonium mesons considered are J/psi, psi(2S) and chic_c1, and the light mesons are either K or K*. We present the results of searches for B decays to charmless two-body final states containing $η^\prime$ or $ω$ mesons, based on 20.7 fb$^{-1}$ of data collected with the BABAR detector. We find the branching fractions ${\cal B}(B^+\toη^\prime K^+) = (70\pm 8\pm 5)\times 10^{-6}$, ${\cal B}(B^0\toη^\prime K^0) = (42^{+13}_{-11}\pm 4)\times 10^{-6}$, and ${\cal B}(B^+\toωπ^+)=6.6^{+2.1}_{-1.8}\pm 0.7)\times 10^{-6}$ where the first error quoted is statistical and the second systematic. We give measurements of four additional modes for which the 90% confidence level upper limits are ${\cal B}(B^…
We report a measurement of the branching fraction of the exclusive charmless semileptonic decay B+ --> omega l+ nu, where l is either an electron or a muon. We use samples of B+ mesons tagged by a reconstructed charmed semileptonic decay of the other B meson in the event. The measurement is based on a dataset of 426.1 fb-1 of e+e- collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 10.58 GeV recorded with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy e+e- storage rings. We measure a branching fraction of BF(B+ --> omega l+ nu) = (1.35 +/- 0.21 +/- 0.11) x 10(-4), where the uncertainties are statisti…

These measurements are based on 316 fb-1 of data collected at the Y(4S) resonance by the BABAR detector. In events in which the decay of one B meson to a hadronic final state is fully reconstructed, the semileptonic decay of the recoiling B meson is identified by the detection of a charged lepton and an eta or eta'. We measure the branching fraction BR(B+ --> eta l+ nu) = (0.84 +/- 0.27 +/- 0.21) x 10-4, where the first error is statistical and th…

The branching fractions for the decays D+(0) -> ~K*0(892)X and D0 -> K*0(892)X are determined to be BF(D0 -> K*0X) = (8.7 +/- 4.0 +/- 1.2)%, BF(D+ -> ~K*0X) = (23.2 +/- 4.5 +/- 3.0)% and BF(D0 -> K*0X) = (2.8 +/- 1.2 +/- 0.4)%. An upper limit on the branching fraction at 90% C.L. for the decay D+ -> K*0(892)X is set to be BF(D+ -> K…
We report measurements of branching fractions and charge asymmetries of exclusive decays of neutral and charged B mesons into two-body final states containing a charmonium state and a light strange meson. The charmonium mesons considered are J/Psi, Psi(2S) and Chi_c1, and the light meson is either K or K*. We use a sample of about 124 million BBbar events collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II storage ring at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center.
An examination of leptons in ${Υ(4S)}$ events tagged by reconstructed $B$ decays yields semileptonic branching fractions of $b_-=(10.1 \pm 1.8\pm 1.4)\%$ for charged and $b_0=(10.9 \pm 0.7\pm 1.1)\%$ for neutral $B$ mesons. This is the first measurement for charged $B$. Assuming equality of the charged and neutral semileptonic widths, the ratio $b_-/b_0=0.93 \pm 0.18 \pm 0.12$ is equivalent to the ratio of lifetimes. A postscript version is available through World-Wide-Web in http://w4.lns.cornell.edu/public/CLNS/1994
We report a measurement of the B -> pi l nu branching fraction based on 211 fb-1 of data collected with the BABAR detector. We use samples of B0 and B+ mesons tagged by a second B meson reconstructed in a semileptonic or hadronic decay, and combine the results assuming isospin symmetry to obtain BF(B0 -> pi- l+ nu) = (1.33 +/- 0.17(stat) +/- 0.11(syst)) x 10^-4. We determine the magnitude of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element |Vub| by combining the partial branching fractions measured in ranges of the momentum transfer squared and theoretical calculations of the form factor. We use a sample of 22.72 +/- 0.36 million B anti-B events collected between October 1999 and October 2000 with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II storage rings at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center. The charmonium mesons considered here are J/psi, psi(2S), and chi_c1, and the light meson in the decay is either a K, K^*, or pi^0.
We analyze 9.7 x 10^6 B\bar{B}$ pairs recorded with the CLEO detector to determine the production ratio of charged to neutral B-meson pairs produced at the Y(4S) resonance. We measure the rates for B^0 -> J/psi K^{(*)0} and B^+ -> J/psi K^{(*)+} decays and use the world-average B-meson lifetime ratio to extract the relative widths f+-/f00 = Gamma(Y(4S) -> B+B-)/Gamma(Y(4S) -> B0\bar{B0}) = = 1.04 +/- 0.07(stat) +/- 0.04(syst). With the assumption that f+- + f00 = 1, we obtain f00 = 0.49 +/- 0.02(stat) +/- 0.01(syst) and f+- = 0.51 +/- 0.02(stat) +/- 0.01(syst). This production ratio and its un…

The ratios of branching fractions ($\mathcal{B}$) are measured to be $\frac{\mathcal{B}(B^+ \to ψ(2S) K^+)}{\mathcal{B}(B^+ \to J/ψK^+)} = 0.594 \pm 0.006 (stat) \pm 0.016 (syst) \pm 0.015 (R_ψ)$, $\frac{\mathcal{B}(B^0 \to ψ(2S) K^{*0})}{\mathcal{B}(B^0 \to J/ψK^{*0})} = 0.476 \pm 0.014 (stat) \pm 0.010 (syst) \pm 0.012\,(R_ψ)$, $\frac{\mathcal{B}^{0}_{s}(B^0_s \to ψ(2S)ϕ)}{\mathcal{B}(B^0_s \to J/ψϕ)} = 0.489 \pm 0.026 (stat) \pm 0.021 (s…
Using the data sample of about 33 pb-1 collected at and around 3.773 GeV with the BES-II detector at the BEPC collider, we have studied inclusive K0~/K0 and K*(892)+- decays of D0 and D+ mesons. The branching fractions for the inclusive K0~/K0 and K*(892)- decays are measured to be BF(D0 to K0~/K0 X)=(47.6+-4.8+-3.0)%, BF(D+ to K0~/K0 X)=(60.5+-5.5+-3.3)%, BF(D0 to K*- X)=(15.3+- 8.3+- 1.9)% and BF(D+ to K*- X)=(5.7+- 5.2+- 0.7)%. The upper limits of the branching fractions for the inclusive K*(892)+ decays are set to be BF(D0 to K*+ X)<3.6% and BF(D+ to K*+ X) <20.3% at 90% confidence level.
Using 3.08 million psi(2S) decays observed in e^+e^- collisions by the CLEO detector, we present the results of a study of the psi(2S) decaying into baryon-antibaryon final states. We report the most precise measurements of the following eight modes: proton-antiproton, lambda-antilambda, Xi^- antiXi^-, Xi^0-antiXi^0 (first observation), Sigma+-antiSigma^+ (first observation), and Sigma^0-antiSigma^0, and place upper limits for the modes, Xi^0*-antiXi^0* and Omega^- antiOmega^-.
We present a measurement of the electron spectrum from inclusive semileptonic {\it B} decay, using 5.1 fb$^{-1}$ of $Υ(4S)$ data collected with the Belle detector. A high-momentum lepton tag was used to separate the semileptonic {\it B} decay electrons from secondary decay electrons. We obtained the branching fraction, ${\cal B}(B\to X e^+ ν) = (10.90 \pm 0.12 \pm 0.49)%$, with minimal model dependence. From this measurement, we derive a value for the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element $|V_{cb}| = 0.0408 \pm 0.0010 {\rm (exp)} \pm 0.0025{\rm (th)}$.
We present spectra of prompt electrons from decays of neutral and charged B mesons. The results are based on 140 /fb of data collected by the Belle detector on the Upsilon(4S) resonance at the KEKB e+e- asymmetric collider. We tag Upsilon(4S) -> B \bar{B} events by reconstructing a B meson in one of several hadronic decay modes; the semileptonic decay of the other B meson is inferred from the presence of an identified electron. We obtain for charged and neutral B mesons the partial rates of semileptonic decay, to electrons with momentum greater than 0.6 GeV/c in the B rest frame, and their rat…
We report a measurement of the branching fraction of inclusive semileptonic $B$ meson decays $B\to X_c\ellν\ell$ in $Υ(4S)\to B\bar B$~data recorded by the Belle II experiment at the SuperKEKB asymmetric-energy $e^+e^-$ collider and corresponding to 62.8 fb$^{-1}$ of integrated luminosity. Only a charged lepton (electon or muon) is reconstructed and the signal yield is determined from a fit to the lepton momentum distribution in the center-of-mass frame of the colliding beams. Averaging the result in the electron and muon channels, we find ${\cal B}(B\to X_c\ellν_\ell) = (9.75\pm 0.03(\text{st…
We present measurements of partial branching fractions of $B \rightarrow K^+ X$, $B \rightarrow K^0 X$, and $B \rightarrow π^+ X$, where $X$ denotes any accessible final state above the endpoint for B decays to charmed mesons, specifically for momenta of the candidate hadron greater than 2.34 (2.36) GeV for kaons (pions) in the B rest frame. These measurements are sensitive to potential new-physics particles which could enter the $b \rightarrow s(d)$ loop transitions. The analysis is performed on a data sample consisting of $383 \times 10^6$ $B \bar{B}$ pairs collected with the BaBar detector …
We report a measurement of the branching fractions of Bbar -> D** l^- nubar_l decays based on 417 fb-1 of data collected at the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the BaBar detector at the PEP-II e+e- storage rings. Events are selected by fully reconstructing one of the B mesons in a hadronic decay mode. A fit to the invariant mass differences m(D(*)pi)-m(D(*)) is performed to extract the signal yields of the different D** states. We observe the Bbar -> D** l^- nubar_l decay modes corresponding to the four D** states predicted by Heavy Quark Symmetry with a significance greater than six standard devia…
We review recent results in heavy quark hadron spectroscopy at the Tevatron. With increasing data samples the Tevatron experiments start to uncover information on the b-hadrons. Most important are the first observations of the narrow Bs** as well as Sigma_b, Sigma_b* and Xi_b- baryons. In addition we present updated results on the narrow B** and Bc mesons.
Using 55.8 pb^-1 of e^+e^- collisions recorded at the psi(3770) resonance with the CLEO-c detector at CESR, we determine absolute hadronic branching fractions of charged and neutral D mesons using a double tag technique. Among measurements for three D^0 and six D^+ modes, we obtain reference branching fractions B(D^0 -> K^- pi^+)=(3.91 +- 0.08 +- 0.09)% and B(D^+ -> K^- pi^+ pi^+)=(9.5 +- 0.2 +- 0.3)%, where the uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. Final state radiation is included in these branching fractions by allowing for additional, unobserved, photons in the final …
Current absolute branching fractions of $Λ_c^+$ and $D_s^+$ mesons are limiting the determination of important measurements. They have only been measured at $e^+e^-$ colliders. Here techniques for measuring them at hadron colliders are discussed. The precision determination of $Λ_c^+\to p K^-π^+$ seems possible with current data, however the corresponding determination of $D_s^+\to K^+K^-π^+$ will require more integrated luminosity.
We argue that selected $S$ wave meson-baryon channels may play a key role to match poor baryon mass predictions from quark models with data. The identification of these channels with effective inelastic channels in data analysis allows to derive a prescription which could improve the extraction and identification of baryon resonances.
Nonleptonic two body B decays including radially excited $π(1300)$ or $ρ(1450)$ mesons in the final state are studied using the framework of generalized naive factorization approach. Branching ratios and CP asymmetries of $B\to Pπ(1300)$, $B\to Vπ(1300)$, $B\to Pρ(1450)$ and $B\to Vρ(1450)$ decays are calculated, where P and V stand for pseudoscalar and vector charmless mesons. Form factors for $B\to π(1300)$ and $B\to ρ(1450)$ transitions are estimated in the improved version of the Isgur-Scora-Grinstein-Wise quark model. In some processes, CP asymmetries of more than 10% and branching ratios…
Production of the matter-antimatter asymmetry in the $B$-Mesogenesis mechanism is directly related to the branching fraction of seemingly baryon number violating decays of $B$ mesons into a light Standard Model baryon and missing energy. Achieving the observed baryon asymmetry requires that the branching fraction for such decays be greater than about $10^{-7}-10^{-5}$. Experimental searches at $B$ Factories and Hadron Colliders target specific decay modes. Therefore, computing the exclusive branching fraction for each decay is a critical step towards testing Mesogenesis. In this work we use QC…
We discuss the physics of B0s mesons focusing on CP violation in B0s -> J/Psi Phi decays at the Tevatron. We summarize measurements of the properties of bottom baryons at the Tevatron including the Sigma_b states and the Xi_b baryon. We also discuss the discovery of the Omega_b baryon.
We present here recent open heavy-flavour results from the ALICE experiment, including measurements of D-meson, $\mathrm{Λ_{c}^{+}}$ baryon and $\mathrm{Ξ_c^0}$ baryon production in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 7~\mathrm{TeV}$ and p-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\mathrm{NN}}} = 5.02~\mathrm{TeV}$.
The measurement of $B_s$-meson branching fractions is a fundamental tool to probe physics beyond the Standard Model. Every measurement of untagged time-integrated $B_s$-meson branching fractions is model-dependent due to the time dependence of the experimental efficiency and the large lifetime difference between the two $B_s$ mass eigenstates. In recent measurements, this effect is bundled in the systematics. We reappraise the potential numerical impact of this effect -- we find it to be close to 10% in real-life examples where new physics is a correction to dominantly Standard-Model dynamics.…
Current measurements of isospin splittings in mesons and baryons are sufficiently precise that they allow estimates of the mass difference between constituent up and down quarks. Some previous results are updated in the light of these new measurements, and the importance of better measurements of some observables such as $M(K^{*\pm})$, $M(B^{*0})-M(B^0)$, and isospin splittings in bottom baryons is noted.
In the quasilinear Regge trajectory ansatz, some useful linear mass inequalities, quadratic mass inequalities and quadratic mass equalities are derived for mesons and baryons. Based on these relations, mass ranges of some mesons and baryons are given. The masses of bc-bar and ss-bar belonging to the pseudoscalar, vector and tensor meson multiplets are also extracted. The J^P of the baryon Xi_cc(3520) is assigned to be 1/2^+. The numerical values for Regge slopes and intercepts of the 1/2^+ and 3/2^+ SU(4) baryon trajectories are extracted and the masses of the orbital excited baryons lying on …
The approximate symmetry of the strong interactions under isospin transformations is among the most precise tools available to control hadronic matrix elements. It is crucial in extracting fundamental parameters, but also provides avenues for the search of phenomena beyond the Standard Model. The precision of the resulting predictions requires special care when determining the quantities they are to be tested with. Specifically, in the extraction of branching ratios often isospin symmetry is assumed at one point or another implicitly, implying a significant bias for precision analyses. We extr…
In this note we collect and summarize the predictions of the Holography Inspired Stringy Hadron (HISH) model. We list the masses and widths of predicted excited states across the spectrum, based on placing the different hadrons on the non-linear Regge trajectories of a string with massive endpoints. Our predicted states include: (i) Light, heavy-light and heavy-heavy mesons. (ii) Baryons, including charmed, doubly charmed and bottom baryons. (iii) Glueballs, together with a method to disentangle them from flavorless mesons. (iv) Genuine tetraquarks, which are not "molecules" of hadrons, and ar…
The strong coupling constants are basic quantities that carry information of the strong interactions among the baryon and meson multiplets as well as information on the natures and internal structures of the involved hadrons. These parameters enter to the transition matrix elements of various decays as main inputs and they play key roles in analyses of the experimental data including various hadrons. We determine the strong coupling constants among the doubly heavy spin-$ 3/2 $ baryons, $Ξ^*_{QQ'} $ and $Ω^*_{QQ'}$, and light pseudoscalar mesons, $π$, $K$ and $η$, using the light-cone QCD. The…
With the one-boson-exchange model we have studied the possible existence of the very loosely bound hidden-charm molecular baryons composed of anti-charmed meson and charmed baryon. Our numerical results indicate that there exist $Σ_c\bar{D}^*$ states with $I(J^P)=1/2(1/2^-), 1/2(3/2^-), 3/2(1/2^-), 3/2(3/2^-)$ and $Σ_c\bar{D}$ state with $3/2(1/2^-)$. But the $Λ_c \bar{D}$ and $Λ_c \bar{D}^*$ molecular states do not exist.
We investigate the strong coupling constants for the baryon octet-octet, decuplet-octet, and decuplet-decuplet vertices with pseudoscalar mesons within a general framework of the chiral quark-soliton model, taking into account the effects of flavor SU(3) symmetry breaking to linear order in the expansion of the strange current quark mass. All relevant dynamical parameters are fixed by using the experimental data on hyperon semileptonic decays and the singlet axial-vector constant of the nucleon. The results of the strong coupling constants for the baryon octet and the pseudoscalar meson octet …
We propose that the charged-particle multiplicity dependence of the charm-baryon-to-meson ratio observed in high-energy $pp$ collisions can be explained by canonical treatment of quantum charges in the statistical hadronization model (SHM). Taking the full particle listings of PDG complemented by additional charm-baryon states from relativistic quark model predictions, we evaluate the canonical partition function and the charm-hadron chemical factors that measure the canonical suppression arising from the requirement of strict conservation of quantum charges. We demonstrate that, while charm n…
We study the semileptonic decays of $D_{s}^{+}$, $D^{+}$, and $D^{0}$ mesons into the light scalar mesons [$f_{0} (500)$, $K_{0}^{\ast} (800)$, $f_{0} (980)$, and $a_{0}(980)$] and the light vector mesons [$ρ(770)$, $ω(782)$, $K^{\ast} (892)$, and $ϕ(1020)$]. With the help of a chiral unitarity approach in coupled channels, we compute the branching fractions for scalar meson processes of the semileptonic $D$ decays in a simple way. Using current known values of the branching fractions, we make predictions for the branching fractions of the semileptonic decay modes with other scalar and vector …
